Yemen's government says 21 foreign specialists, including 14 from Iran’s IRGC are working with the Houthis

Text:
Yemen’s internationally recognized government says 21 foreign specialists, including 14 from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and seven from Lebanon’s Hezbollah, are working with the Houthis. In a Ministry of Interior
@moiyemen statement, Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Haidan
@EbrahimHaidan alleged that their role extends beyond training and weapons support to direct involvement in planning, command and control, and managing military operations.

The ministry listed eight specialists in Hodeidah, four in Sana’a, four in Saada, two in Hajjah, two in Amran and one in al-Khawkhah. Their alleged responsibilities include ballistic missiles, drones, radar, communications, electronic warfare and weapons smuggling, alongside selecting commercial shipping targets, developing explosive boats and unmanned underwater vehicles, and training fighters in mine warfare, siege tactics and urban combat.

“This is not a training mission, but a complete general staff,” Haidan said. He also alleged that an IRGC officer presenting himself publicly as an ambassador heads the network, without naming him [Ali Mohammad Rezaei is Iran's envoy to the Houthis in Sana'a] in the statement. Linking the specialists to the siege of Taiz and threats to Red Sea shipping, Haidan said, “The decision is written in Tehran, announced in Sana’a, and paid for in Taiz, Hodeidah and the other embattled governorates.”
