1 Of course, that's BS. The Russians modeled this thing in Lake Ladoga in 1962 and concluded that this tsunami wouldn't work, even with a much bigger nuclear payload.

For many reasons, the actual Poseidon — if it exists — makes no sense at all. Once launched you couldn't really control it any longer - very much unlike modern ICBMs, and you can fit more of the latter on big subs.

The Poseidon is just a propaganda weapon meant to intimidate the West (not really working) and impress the local population (maybe).

2 I might guess that the reactor shielding on the Poseidon might not be too robust, either. Pretty detectable, therefore.
