The Southern Giants’ forces have released a recent video showing them reaching the outskirts of Hayd al-Aqrabi in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, laying siege to Ansarallah in the area. However, these movements form part of temporary incursions into an area which, like Dhubah Airport, is difficult for either side to defend.
This is why the Sana’a forces at Bab el Mandeb and on the island of Perim are supplied by sea rather than via the coastal road. Hence the importance of controlling the inland mountains to secure the coast; these are currently being taken by Ansarallah in a war of attrition against the Giants’ forces (primarily) and the PLC, the outcome of which will have profound implications for the city of Aden. 🇾🇪
