1 Microsoft had 'only' 114k employees in mid 2016
by 2021, it had about 220k employees and has been at that level since.

The loss of 60k would put them back at 2916 levels.

I'm not able to get the number of shares of MSFT owned by the average employee. I'm guessing, however, that a lot of the employees own multiple hundreds of shares, a lot of which were bought before 2016 when the shares were under $50 (currently over $500)/
