13 Redd Foxx always joked by innuendo until very late in his career. At which point he didn't want to feel dated so he performed the aforementioned comedy routine. I prefer the older, word-play oriented Foxx:

Redd insisted he had a relative in the Revolutionary War who fought under the slogan "DON'T FIRE UNTIL YOU SEE THE WHITES...!"
