Oil pipeline in Syria’s Hasakah targeted in sabotage attack

[NorthPress] An oil pipeline near Tel Hamis village in Syria’s northeastern Hasakah Governorate was damaged in a sabotage attack on Wednesday, the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) said.
The company said its maintenance and emergency teams immediately went to the site, secured the area and isolated the damaged section before beginning repair work to restore the pipeline to service as soon as possible.
The company did not provide details on the extent of the damage or identify the nature of the attack.
It said authorities launched an investigation into the incident and identified and arrested those responsible. The suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings and referral to the judiciary.
The affected pipeline is located near Tel Hamis, an area in Hasakah that contains important oil infrastructure and has been affected by disruptions to energy facilities in recent years.
The SPC said that repair and maintenance work remains underway, without specifying when the pipeline would resume operations.
