QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Anti-Narcotics Administration said on Tuesday it had foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of drugs into the Damascus countryside from Lebanon.
The administration said in a statement published on its official channels that the operation resulted in the seizure of 62 kilograms of hashish and 210,000 Captagon pills.
The seized narcotics were confiscated, while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the case and track down those involved for prosecution, according to the administration.
