1 In 1976 I saw 2 women in NPS uniforms apparently picking berries on a mountainside in Glacier National Park. I was riding on the Many Glacier boat. From the deck of the boat the berry pickers were easy to see on the mountain side from the deck of the boat. A rather large bear's head popped up from the bushes about 30 feet from the women, who were oblivious to the bear. The boat's captain started blowing his horn in groups of 3 to warn the women. The women looked towards us and then scanned the area around them when the bear's head raised up again. All three fled in opposite directions and as far as I know, none was hurt.
