2 Launching aircraft off a carrier is the easy part.
Landing them back on it, particularly in bad weather, is where the tale is told.
If you can't use the airplane more than once, it's just a big missile.

5 As it's been mentioned before - what the Chinese just demonstrated translates to, "Welcome to the 1950s."

It's taken us just shy of 100 years to run these things without killing numbers of people in the process, and then do it in coordination with other ships and aircraft. We've not seen CVBG-level underway replenishment yet either, which they have to have in order to move into the far ocean and stay there.

Keep an eye on them? Yes. Worry about them? A while yet.

6 China's aircraft carriers are more for prestige than military capability. China has no global allies to defend, or foreign naval bases to visit.

America and its allies have massive anti-ship and anti-aircraft capabilities throughout the world.

Should war break out, China's carriers won't stray far from home, which limits their effectiveness.
