2 Public school in America began as a way to keep teenagers out of the full time job market until they were 18. Now it keeps most of them out of the job market forever.

3 No, they're just buildings and campuses that host cults. Once these colleges are bankrupt and sold off to someone who wants to do something useful with them, more things will be right in the world (and that will happen to a huge number of the small schools and at some of the small public schools over the next couple years).

5 Cults? They have become that way. Back a long time ago when I took English in college, I had a prof who jumped in at the D-Day invasion--a no B.S. kind of instructor. Universities have changed a great deal since then.
