2 I have always thought of the old fashioned boat-, sub- or plane-launched torpedoes as "kamikaze robot boats". News writers are still getting carried away with "creativity". Next step will be to call bullets "kamikaze propellant launched projectiles" if you will. Author Murray Leinster wrote a SF short story in 1942, called "The Wabbler" about a slightly more exotic version of a torpedo/mine device.

3 Research contracts have been out on this stuff for many decades...
Including Robot Subs being fueled, loaded and unloaded on robot boats.
Robot subs are the toughest to implement as one doesn't use radio communication deep in the ocean so they need lots of computers for a deep AI.

5 Any robot sub worth its salt will have a "pop up" antenna to use near the surface to communicate with its controllers using plain old radio waves.
