2 The Jones Act is one that really needs to die. Instead of shipping something from a central-south American company to the US direct, it has to stop at a foreign port, wait for a US vessel and then bring the goods to the US. Adds some 200-400% just in transport and storage fees while China can just dump cheap crap straight into our Pacific ports.

If we want to have a nice trade block of the Americas to keep hostile nations out, the Jones act has GOT to go.

3 The Jones Act is the only thing keeping our waterways from being taken over by illegal aliens just like they took over our trucking jobs. Think the Baltimore bridge collapse is bad? Plenty more of those on the way. They don't even pilot ships any more, third world crews set them on autopilot and watch DVDs in their staterooms.
