3 It's hard to get good information from the American MSM, both sides are more interested in political mud slinging than accurate reporting of what's going in the Gulf. X/Twitter seems to be the only source of accurate information and even there what's being reported is limited. I expect their sources aren't always able to get information out.

4 Telegram has a lot of prompt reporting from the field but you have to take it with a grain of salt. Just like all the other stuff. The BDA pictures are more available there anyway

6 De-escalation is not the goal. The goal is compliance. Stuff getting blown up is simply the "or else" part of "Comply or else".

The prisoner/hostage that was released or not released is more evidence of the factional nature of Iranian politics. I wonder which group let her go.

A reminder to all you slackers: It is not too late to put up your decorations for Bridges and Power Plants Day.

8 Iran issues grim new order to citizens after US strikes 'hit power plants' as conflict spirals

Iran has told its citizens to turn off their air conditioning during peak hours as the country's power grid came under strain amid US strikes.

Tehran's energy ministry said that the power restrictions were necessary 'to help ensure a stable electricity supply in the southern provinces, which are currently facing extreme heat and attacks on electricity supply facilities.'

Temperatures in the capital were expected to hit triple digits Friday, with highs of [a balmy] 102F on Saturday and Sunday.

Donald Trump ordered the US military to hit Iranian bridges throughout coastal cities along the Strait of Hormuz. A report from Iranian state media claims an American missile struck Qeshm, an island which is home to a hidden 'missile city' buried underground. The US also fired on a ship which was trying to breach the blockade.

10 USA has made 75%+ of the strikes in the SW of Iran.

If there is to be a local rebellion there with USA air support, this would be a good strategy.

11 Per usual very sketchy BDA on targets Iran hit - like the King Fahd bridge connecting Saudi and Bahrain. I understand OPSEC on both sides. But it makes anyone without access to a SCIF just flounder around in the dark trying to figure out what's going on. The key takeaway in the last week is that Israel has chosen not to visibly participate in the fracas (other than provide basing). Iran has elected not to target Israel so far. Other than that it's tit for tat with both sides claiming unsubstantiated victories
