1 damage on the island of Rota is said to be horrible - estimates of fatalities and damage probably not ready until about 8 pm EDT.

the path of the storm is now predicted to be north of the Island of Taiwan but of course, that's a prediction, not a certainty.

those are in the South China Sea, west of the Philippine Islands.

not in danger from typhoon Bavi

back in 2009, Typhoon Melor did a lot of damage in that area
