#1 At this point it's more likely an anti surveillance device is causing the problems.

#4 The presence or absence of strong sound waves can be ascertained easily and inexpensively. This isn't a hunt for neutrinos or ectoplasm.

The fact that official and semi-official information on this phenomenon only mentions anecdotal and subjective evidence is odd.

#5 Not exactly new: In the nineteen eighties there were reports that US diplomats in the embassy-Moscow were bombarded. Some dips became sick, and I believe the USSR was threatened with reprisals.
