I got the idea that this information was gleaned from radio intercepts. Both sides' comms are hopelessly compromised.

Let's parse this: female, wounded, surrenders alone ...and is a sniper. Historically soldiers tended to kill snipers and rape women they catch alone so pardon me if I am suspicious of the chivalrous tone.

#5 First-ever Arclight mortar strike on a hidden sniper for whom no precise location could be determined, or this is baloney. Making the sniper a woman was a nice touch. I am sure half of each sniper class is female in Ukraine. Yes, there were famous female Russian snipers in WWII. I also know that there is a female Ukrainian politician serving. I don't believe this story; it doesn't make military sense.
