9 So - bad when Iran does it, okay when the US does it.

Just remember, it's not just oil and LNG that isn't moving outbound. It's also significant fractions of the worlds helium, urea, aluminum and sulfur traffic.

And of course all the consumer goods that are inbound to the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain (food, electronics, clothes, grain etc).

Air and ground trans only carries a fraction of what ocean containers do - and we are approaching 45 days of intermittent traffic. That's gonna show up in the markets response tomorrow. For instance, Japan is already short on naphtha. Doesn't matter who shut the traffic down ultimately to the folks at the end of the supply chain (the spice must flow). And just for fun - imagine you chartered one of the vessels stuck waiting to go in or out - and are paying demurrage for the past little bit - on a daily basis.

It was called "before the war."
All this to...do what exactly? Watch the Chinese laugh while we spend ourselves into a sovereign debt crisis? Does anyone reading this depend on outpatient medical care or prescription drugs?
Those will be the first to go in a financial collapse.

One of the principles of Trumpian negotiation: Don't be afraid to way away from the deal. It will be interesting to see if the Iranians respond with missiles or a better offer.
