3 Big block moves in commodities by institutional investors and speculators during huge world events are sometimes trend-setting magnets to bring in the stupid money desperate to catch the wave, and then close out positions in bites while the uptrend reaches the point where the lesser people suddenly notice the altitude. Then margin-calls clean up the carnage and the froth subsides a bit.
