Given, Mexico is part of the North /Central of the Americas and the general area of water also covers some Upper South America nations.

Why not the "general" title of Gulf Of America(s)?

I wonder if this is just a minor snit to show that Ms President is standing up for Mexico's illusory sovereignty and to provide cover for ~~rolling over~~ cooperating on dealing with the cartels.
