They’ll be able to apply their lessons entirely too soon. [KhaamaPress] As Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are busy fighting the Taliban![]() in nearly entire Afghanistan, five thousand youths took entry test for National Military academy in Kabul on Sunday, August 1. The examinees included both boys and girls and are said to enter Marshal Fahim National Military and Defense University based in Kabul. The Afghan Army Chief of Staff General Wali Muhammad Ahamdzai attended the process and praised the youths for coming forward to join the Afghan army in such a critical situation. "I want to thank every single one of you for expressing valor to defend Afghanistan in such a critical situation against the sworn enemies of our country." Said Chief of Army Staff. Earlier, there were grave concerns over the lack of interest in Afghans joining ANDSF on the whole and the Afghan National Army in particular. Sources familiar with the process had said that youths have dramatically been indifferent to join especially the infantry units of the national army due to the skyrocketed rise in the Taliban offensive. |

Obama Clears Afghan Taliban Terrorist for Guantanamo Release Despite ‘Threat’ |
2016-10-20 |
[BREITBART] The B.O. regime’s Guantánamo parole board has released an al-Qaeda-linked jihadi recruiter from Mauritania and approved for release an Afghan man affiliated with the Taliban and al-Qaeda who "still presents some level of threat." After the release of Mauritanian prisoner Mohammedou Ould Slahi to his home country on Monday, the total number of detainees at the U.S. military prison in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, also known as Gitmo, dropped to 60. On October 3, the parole board also declared al-Qaeda-affiliated detainee Mohammed Ahmed Rabbani from Pakistain too dangerous to release, making him the 25th individual deemed an indefinite detainee, or "forever prisoner," by Obama’s panel. Nevertheless, the B.O. regime has reversed previous "forever prisoner" designations and released individuals who had been deemed too dangerous for release. On September 26, the multi-agency parole panel, officially known as the Periodic Review Board (PRB), recommended that Afghan detainee Haji Wali Muhammad be transferred "to a country with reintegration support and the capacity to implement robust security measures, including monitoring and travel restrictions," adding, "The Board noted that the detainee does not appear to be motivated by bad boy ideologies, and the detainees relatively compliant behavior and cooperative attitude toward [Gitmo] staff." |

After years of denial, Pakistan in March openly admitted that it was providing shelter to Afghan Taliban forced to flee their own country after they were toppled from power in 2001. Mansour, who was killed in a US drone strike deep inside Pakistani territory on Saturday along with a driver, was travelling with a passport and ID card bearing the name "Muhammad Wali". Three investigation officials said Mansour used the passport for extensive travel, mainly between the southern Pakistani city of Karachi and Dubai in the UAE but also to Iran. He travelled 37 times, mostly to Dubai from Karachi, during the last 10 years, a senior investigating official told AFP. The official said Mansour first used the passport to travel to Dubai from Karachi in March 2006. A second official confirmed the trips, adding: "He also travelled to Dubai from Quetta (in southwest Pakistan) on July 16, 2015." The official said he last left for Iran on April 25 and returned on the morning of May 21, the day he fell victim to the drone strike. | |

2 charred bodies found near Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan |
2016-05-23 |
QUETTA: Two charred bodies and the remains of a car were found on Sunday in Balochistan's Noshki district near the border with Afghanistan. The bodies, which were transferred to the Civil Hospital Quetta, were later identified as Wali Muhammad, resident of Balochistan's Killa Abdullah district and Muhammad Azam hailing from Taftan town in the province's Chaghi district. "Their bodies had been severely burnt from explosive material and there were iron marks on their faces," a senior doctor who declined to be named since he was not authorised to speak to media told Dawn.com. Azam's body has been handed over to his heirs, who said the victim was a taxi driver. Haji Khudai Nazar, Azam's uncle, told Dawn.com Azam had been driving a taxi for almost a decade. The militant-infested Pak-Afghan border region in Balochistan saw unprecedented American bombardment over the weekend, which was authorised by United States President Barack Obama, the Pentagon said on Saturday. US officials also claimed that Taliban chief Mullah Mansour was killed in one of the drone strikes over the weekend. The Afghan government later confirmed the development, with Afghan chief executive Abdullah Abdullah claiming Mansour was killed in a US drone strike near Quetta – Balochistan's capital. American officials said the target of the strikes, Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Mansour, was "likely killed". Pakistan has however said it is "seeking clarification" about a US drone strike that purportedly killed Mansour. Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria in a statement on Sunday said: "I have seen the reports [surrounding Mansour's death in a drone strike]. We are seeking clarification." It is pertinent to mention hear that US Secretary of State John Kerry in a statement on Sunday said he had notified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by telephone of a US drone strike that 'likely killed' Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mansour. Kerry said the Afghan leadership was also apprised of the air strike ordered by US President Barack Obama, declining to elaborate on the timing of the notifications. |

Exchange of gunfire resumes across Pakistan-India border |
2014-10-12 |
[DAWN] India and Pakistain exchanged gunfire across the disputed Kashmire border and working boundary on Saturday, military officials from both countries said, ending a pause in fighting that has already killed 17 civilians in the worst skirmishes in a decade. Both sides blamed each other for starting the fresh outbreak of fighting. The Pakistain army confirmed that a 70-year-old village resident Wali Muhammad was injured due to unprovoked firing and shelling by Indian forces in Poonch sector near Rawalkot. "Pak troops effectively responded to Indian shelling," a front man for the ISPR, the public relations wing, said in a short statement. The front man warned that every Indian violation on the Line of Control (LoC) and working boundary would meet "a befitting response". Later in the evening, Chenab Rangers said Indian forces also opened unprovoked gunfire and shelling across the border in Charwa sector near the working boundary in Sialkot. Army sources said Pak forces responded effectively to the firing. Meanwhile, ...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves... the Indian army blamed the Pak military of launching unprovoked fire. An Indian army official claimed Pakistain border guards targeted 10 Indian border posts in the Poonch sector. "Our troops retaliated. Heavy firing is going on," he told news agency Rooters. There was no immediate report of casualties from the Indian side. The fresh gunfire exchange resumes fighting after the two armies abruptly stopped Thursday night following nine days of attacking each other with mortars and heavy machine guns. Both sides have blamed the other for triggering a crisis on the border, with Pakistain suggesting that India's new government led by nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi was flexing its muscles on the dispute over Kashmire, the cause of two wars. |

In what appears to be a further disintegration of the Pak Taliban structure, well-placed sources within the TTP told Dawn.com that a meeting of the Taliban Shura led by Mullah Fazlullah decided to oust Wali Muhammad alias Khalid Khorasani as Mohmand Agency chief, and also cancelled his TTP membership. The meeting observed that Khorasani had been conspiring against the Afghan Taliban led by Mullah Muhammad Omar and had formed "dubious" organizations such as Junad-e-Hafza, Ihrarul Hind and now the splinter group Jamatul Ihrar. The Shura determined that this was damaging the TTP cause. In the last few days, Umar Khalid Khorasani and his associates in Mohmand Agency had accused the TTP leadership of deviating from the TTP ideology, leading to the formation of splinter group TTP Jamatul Ihrar. The group had announced they would no longer recognise or obey Mullah Fazlullah as their Emir. They also claimed the support of other like minded commanders from FATA and Malakand division. |
