How Democrats ''debanked'' political opponents in shocking attack on American freedoms

But there have been quieter attacks on justice, like ''debanking'' — and few people realize they could be the next victims because they are a ''politically exposed person,'' that is someone who disagrees with the liberal status quo.

Debanking is a kind of financial blackballing that has appeared within just the last 20 years.

Dr. Joseph Mercola, a critic of the COVID vaccine, found his business accounts shut down by JP Morgan Chase, a move his chief financial officer claimed was at the same time Mercola spoke out against the Food and Drug Administration.

In her new memoir, Melania Trump says her bank account was terminated after the riots of Jan. 6, 2021, and her son Barron was unable to open his own account. She called it ''political discrimination.''

Regulators will claim that they're not technically forbidding a private bank from doing business with an individual, and that the bank is freely choosing not to have that person as a customer.

But the reality is very different — because of the undue influence and control in the hands of today's bloated administrative state.

A bureaucrat can make someone's life so difficult that the victim is forced to comply — the government strong-arming a private individual or institution into doing what the government itself cannot do by law.

What does that have to do with a creditor's ability to repay a loan or the solvency of a bank or the worth of an individual's assets? Nothing. The radical left's push to debank anyone with whom they disagree has nothing to do with sound financial principles — it's all politics.

Anyone who appreciates freedom and the rule of law should be supremely grateful that the incoming president has put the ~~babus~~ bureaucrats on notice: Their days of covertly forcing political compliance are numbered.

Ex-minister Shaked denied visa to Australia, reportedly since she might ‘incite discord’

Former justice minister Ayelet Shaked said on Thursday that she was barred from entering Australia, where she was slated to address a conference organized by the Australia/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC).

The Australian newspaper reported that Shaked was denied a visa because she might "incite discord," noting that the act used to prevent her entry stipulates that applicants may be barred if it is believed that they may "vilify a segment of the Australian community, or incite discord in the Australian community or in a segment of that community."

Speaking with the paper, AIJAC chief Colin Rubenstein condemned the visa ban as "a disgraceful act of hostility towards a democratic ally."

"It is extraordinary that a government that refuses to take any meaningful action against an Iranian ambassador who effectively calls for genocide would act so undiplomatically towards a friend," he said.

Also responding to the reports, Zionist Federation of Australia president Jeremy Leibler tweeted, "The Australian Government’s decision to refuse a visa to Ayelet Shaked is both baffling and deeply offensive."

"Ayelet is a former justice minister in the most diverse and centrist Israeli government in history, which included an Israeli Arab party and minister. This refusal is particularly perplexing given that this very same government granted her a visa less than two years ago," he wrote.

In a later post, Leibler addressed Shaked directly, "I am embarrassed of my Government. Rest assured, most Australians do not support this outrageous decision."

Speaking with Channel 12 on Thursday, Shaked slammed what she called Australia’s "extreme anti-Israeli and pro-Paleostinian government, part of which is even antisemitic, which for political reasons and because I oppose a Paleostinian state does not allow me to attend a strategic dialogue between Israel and Australia."

Shaked’s visa denial came amid reports that Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has recently signaled increased support for the Paleostinians, voting in May in favor of a Paleostinian bid to become a full UN member.

"Words are no longer enough — it’s time for action," the embassy asserted.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday condemned the attack as “disturbing” and “deeply troubling.”

But not disturbing and troubling enough to let an Israeli politician reenter and pollute your precious country. Got it.

“There is no place for antisemitism in Australia.

Tell your foreign minister that, Mr. Prime Minister. She does not agree with you.

Conflict overseas cannot be made a platform for prejudice at home. I have trust in our law enforcement agencies to deal with this,” he said in a statement cited by Australian media.

Antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment have risen in Australia since Hamas’s October 7 massacre, which saw thousands of terrorists burst across the border into Israel, killing some 1,200 people and seizing 251 hostages, mostly civilians, amid acts of brutality and sexual assault.

In October, a few days after the unprecedented onslaught, Jewish Australians who were holding a vigil outside the Sydney Opera House were faced with antisemitic pro-Palestinian protesters who chanted “F*** the Jews” and “Gas the Jews,” although law enforcement later claimed that they were chanting, “Where’re the Jews” and not “Gas the Jews.”

In an effort to combat the spike in antisemitism, Albanese appointed an envoy in July to deal with the issue, as well as an envoy to address Islamophobia.

Haiti: Gangs Open Fire on U.N. Helicopter, Forcing It to Land in Port-au-Prince

[Breitbart] A United Nations helicopter was hit by several rounds of gunfire while flying over Haiti on Thursday, forcing the chopper to land in the capital of Port-au-Prince.

U.N. officials declined to comment on the incident on the record. A U.N. source anonymously told the Associated Press (AP) that no one was injured by the attack, which was one of the more brazen assaults launched against international observers and peacekeepers by the gangs running amok in Haiti.

The AP’s source said the helicopter was carrying three crew and 15 passengers at the time of the attack.

Another source provided CNN with photos showing “at least eight bullet holes on the helicopter’s fuselage, and what appears to be its rotor system.” These photos showed the helicopter was clearly marked as a U.N. aircraft, specifically belonging to the World Food Program (WFP).

“Humanitarian air transport is essential to delivering a response across Haiti,” the WFP said in a statement. Air transport is necessary, in part, because gang attacks have made Haiti’s roads so dangerous.

The WFP canceled its planned helicopter flights for Friday and a source told CNN that U.S. airlines are considering halting flights to Port-au-Prince again, as they did for three months after a surge of gang violence in March.

Two armored vehicles belonging to the U.S. Embassy in Haiti were attacked on Tuesday by gunmen belonging to the 400 Mawozo and Chen Mechan gangs. As with the helicopter incident, no injuries were reported from the attack.

“The United States maintains its strong condemnation against ongoing gang violence aimed at destabilizing Haiti’s government and jeopardizing a future of peace and security for the Haitian people,” the State Department said when confirming the attack.

The Miami Herald quoted a source who said one of the vehicles targeted by the gangsters belonged to the U.S. chief of mission in Haiti. This armored car was not hit by any of the gunfire, but the other one was struck by several rounds, shattering its back glass.

The Miami Herald noted that gang boss Jimmy “The Barbecue” Cherizier has mentioned the U.S. Embassy in weird and threatening ways in some of his recent social media videos. In one of those videos, he claimed he was invited to a meeting at the embassy and was offered a U.S. visa. The State Department denied both of those claims.

CBS News reported on Thursday that twenty members of the U.S. embassy attack were evacuated following the car attack in Port-au-Prince.

Situation in Haiti worsens amid ‘acute violence' as UN support mission falters under gang violence

[FoxNews] 700,000 internally displaced in Haiti in a stark 22% increase in just three months.

The security situation in Haiti has once again degraded despite months of support from United Nations-approved Kenyan-led forces sent in to aid the Haitian police as gang violence escalates.

In a Tuesday address to the Security Council, María Isabel Salvador, special representative of the secretary-general and head of the U.N. Integrated Office in Haiti, told the 15-member body that despite efforts to restore calm to the nation, more than 700,000 Haitians are now internally displaced, and the Multinational Security Support Mission remains under resourced.

"The security situation remains extremely fragile, with renewed peaks of acute violence," Salvador told the U.N. body, adding that since her last briefing in July, "the situation in Haiti has regrettably worsened."

In the last three months, the number of internally displaced people has jumped by 22%, Salvador said.

The U.N. official noted that this increase coincided with the June deployment of Kenyan forces in an attempt to aid Haitian police, which have also since been joined by forces from the Bahamas, Belize and Jamaica.

But despite eventual plans to deploy some 3,000 security officials to counter the gangs, only 430 personnel are currently deployed.

"It is far from enough", Salvador said.

Gang violence, once primarily concentrated in Haiti’s capital city, has now expanded under an alliance of well-armed gangs known as Viv Ansanm beyond the parameters of Port-au-Prince, with "murders, kidnappings and sexual violence of unprecedented brutality" being reported across the country.

Salvador told the Security Council that the Support Mission remains desperately under-resourced, which not only impacts its ability to carry out its coordinated work with the Haitian National Police, but could also impact future deployments.

The U.N. official urged the body to increase their support for the Haitian security apparatus and to better fund the Support Mission.

Funding has lagged and several U.N. representatives pointed to the persistence of arms smuggling schemes, frequently through Florida, that continue to aid the violent gang activity.

Political ineptitude and corruption remain major concerns as the nation looks to propel its new government, formed in June but which is losing public trust as divisions mount between the dual executive, headed by the prime minister and presidential council.

Alongside the extreme violence, an estimated 5 million people in Haiti are estimated to be going hungry, while thousands are facing famine.

Strip of Sgt. Elishai Young, 19, from Dimona, in southern Israel, reopens the decades-long campaign for state recognition of the non-Jewish Hebrew Israelites Community to which he belonged.

Young, of 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion, was buried on Monday at the Dimona Military cemetery in the presence of IDF soldiers, and family and friends.

The Hebrew Israelites Community, which has around 2,500 members (down from 3,000 just a few years ago due to people leaving the country), believes it is descended from an ancient Israelite tribe.

In 2013, then-Minister of Interior Gideon Sa’ar decided that those who completed more than 18 months of military service would receive citizenship, along with their immediate family.

Young, his mother, brother, and late father were given permanent residency some years ago. But the soldier fell before completing those 18 months.

Asked whether citizenship would nevertheless be considered given the circumstances, an IDF spokesperson referred The Times of Israel to the Interior Ministry and the Population and Immigration Authority. As of press time, the latter had not yet given an answer.

Ashriel Moore, one of the community’s spokespeople, told The Times of Israel that Young’s father died several years ago, leaving his mother to care for him and an older brother who has special needs. "His mother is having a hard time," Moore went on. "Elishai helped with the older son. She didn’t want him to go into a combat role. She said she only had Elishai to help."

Moore said that the community observed three days of mourning, with people visiting a mourning tent and providing food and support for the family.

The community participates fully in local life and campaigns on behalf of Israel. Children attend local state schools; most eligible youngsters serve in the IDF.

The community does not subscribe to any particular religion, observes Shabbat and Jewish Holy Days mentioned in the Old Testament, circumcises its male children eight days after birth, and requires women to observe the biblical laws of purification.

It is not recognized as Jewish by Israel’s religious authorities.

In 2003, then-Interior Minister Avraham Poraz offered permanent residency to community members who had temporary resident status and had been in Israel for over a decade.

In 2010, some community members began to receive full Israeli citizenship.

But in 2021, the Interior Ministry’s Population and Immigration Authority ordered 51 individuals without status to leave the country within 60 days. All had entered Israel from the US as tourists and had remained illegally once their permitted three-month stay was up.

Moore, who is coordinating a campaign to stop the deportations, noted that some of those ordered to leave were born in Israel (where birth does not confer citizenship). Others had Israeli-born children. Those not eligible for US citizenship or who had given it up were stateless and had nowhere to go, he went on.

Five individuals have since left Israel. In February 2023, a court in Beersheba, in southern Israel, ordered the Interior Ministry to solve the problem.

Since then, however, the group’s lawyers, who are trying to secure permanent residency for the group, have been playing ping-pong with a court in Jerusalem, the Interior Ministry, and the Population and Immigration Authority.

"They keep asking for more documents," Moore said. "For example, they ask people born and raised here who have never been to the US to submit a US police report [showing no criminal record]. "

"We can’t produce all the documents being requested. We’re waiting to hear when there will be another court hearing. We remain in limbo. Slowly but surely, people are leaving. I think that’s part of the strategy. It’s like a war of attrition."

He went on, "We’re trying to schedule another court date, but the ministry continues to kick the can down the road, asking for more time, saying they can’t appear in court because their lawyers are on IDF reserve duty. It’s a lot of nonsense."

’AN INSEPARABLE PART OF US’
At Young’s funeral, a former deputy commander of the 401st brigade, Zafrir Har Shoshanim, praised him for his bravery and commitment, and noted that Young’s battalion commander was still fighting for his life, having been injured during the same incident just meters away.

"You fought like lions," said Har Shoshanim. "You were proud of your family, your community," he said of Young. "You helped your brother [with special needs]. You had a high level of commitment and insisted on being at the front. Your commanders knew they could depend on you. You were reliable, organized, willing to do anything from the smallest thing to the biggest. You were a special character. Also a man of music. Music was your life. You are an inseparable part of us."

Before collapsing in tears, Young’s mother, Shiria, a widow, recalled how Young would call and promise, "Mom, don’t worry, I’m coming home."

Friends and relatives spoke about a young man who tried to be the best in everything he did, including his studies, who insisted on going into an IDF combat unit; a man who was devoted to music, and could often be seen wearing earphones.

Benny Biton, Dimona’s Mayor, called on the government to grant citizenship to those in the community who don’t yet have it, particularly following Young’s death.

"100 percent of this community serves in the IDF," the mayor said at the funeral, "and we’ve been living with them for nearly 50 years."

Two Israeli soldiers were killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip earlier today, the IDF announces.

They are named as Staff Sgt. Ofir Berkovich, 20, from Modi’in, and Sgt. Elishai Young, 19, from Dimona.

Both served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion.

Man charged over ‘Hamas is coming’ graffiti during July anti-Netanyahu protests in DC

[IsraelTimes] Zaid Mohammed Mahdawi, 26, faces one count of destruction of federal property amid raucous protests that featured antisemitic messaging.

A Virginia man was arrested Friday on a charge that he spray-painted graffiti on a monument in the nation’s capital during protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress in July.

Zaid Mohammed Mahdawi, 26, of Richmond, Virginia, was charged in a complaint with one count of destruction of federal property. He was among thousands of protesters who gathered in Washington, DC, on July 24 to condemn Netanyahu’s visit.

Some demonstrators who gathered outside Union Station that day removed American flags and hoisted Paleostinian ones in their place. Others burned flags and sprayed graffiti on structures in Columbus Circle, in front of Union Station.

Videos posted on social media showed Mahdawi climbing the statue of Christopher Columbus in the middle of Columbus Circle and using red spray paint to write "HAMAS IS COMIN" on the monument, according to an FBI agent’s affidavit. He also spray-painted an inverted red triangle above the slogan, the affidavit says, a symbol of support for Hamas

The FBI later received a tip from a witness who knew Mahdawi from a Richmond gym and recognized his image in a police bulletin.

A group of protesters had a permit to demonstrate in front of Union Station, but the US Park Police said it revoked the permit after it couldn’t reach protest organizers that afternoon. The National Park Service estimated that it cost more than $11,000 to clean up and fix damage at the site.

"Politically motivated destruction or defacing of federal property is not protected speech, it is a crime," Matthew Graves, US Attorney for the District of Columbia, said in a statement.

Mahdawi was expected to make his initial court appearance in Virginia on Friday.

Eight out of the 23 people arrested in the protest of thousands face federal crime charges.

Three people were charged with attempting to carry a dangerous weapon, three with attempted theft, one with two counts of assault on a police officer, and one with threats related to the protest, Fox reported.

The protest featured antisemitic and pro-Hamas slogans and signs, the vandalism of property, the torching of an effigy of Netanyahu, and the burning of an American flag.

Several protesters waved Hamas flags and wore the inverted red triangle Hamas uses to identify targets for its violence. One man waved a placard, "Allah is gathering all the Zionists for the ’Final Solution,’" a reference to the Holocaust.

The pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel demonstrators filled several blocks as they weaved through the streets of the nation’s capital carrying Paleostinian flags, pro-Hamas flags and placards, and signs with messages such as "Arrest Netanyahu" and "End all US aid to Israel."

Note that the group chants a marching cadence in English, starting with “IUIC”. Haitians would chant in their French patois. Perhaps they are there to recruit their fellow Blacks from Haiti. At any rate, the YouTube video linked in the Reader Context is headlined

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which is often wrong, identifies the Bronx-based IUIC as a branch of the Black Hebrew Israelites.

And the Jewish Telegraph Agency wrote about them at length in late 2022, blaming the Black Hebrew Israelites as a group for a series of deadly attacks on Jews in New York and New Jersey in 2019 and since.

Background from the Rantburg archives: The Black Hebrew Israelites are one of the descendant groups of the mystical African-American national separatist movement of the turn of the 19th century that called itself the Indigenous Moors, claiming that they are the actual natives of North America, not the so-called American Indians. Their congregations range from pushing reasonably normal Black self-improvement/self-sufficiency with a mystic frosting to batshit crazy, violent Black supremacist racist antisemites. Nation of Islam is another descendant of the same movement, but claiming to be the true Muslims as BHI are the true Hebrews. The Black Sovereign Citizens movement, which claims that they don’t have to pay taxes or obey local laws and regulations, are another branch — usually encountered in groups carrying unregistered guns or after moving into strangers’ homes and changing the locks. On their Washington, DC school trip Nick Sandman and his Covington Catholic classmates encountered an abusive group of BHIs, just before they were confronted by that obnoxious professional “Native American” activist.

Montana woman under arrest for driving vehicle into ‘religious group’ on sidewalk

A strange tale. Did the driver do this because she thought the crowd was Jewish, Israeli, Christian, Black, or merely because she was under the influence of brain-altering chemicals? Posting on Page 1: WoT to start, but it may be moved based on further information.

[IsraelTimes] A woman has been arrested after she drove her vehicle several times at or through a religious group demonstrating on a sidewalk, hitting and injuring one man, Montana police say.

Genevienne Rancuret, 55, was pulled over by police in Billings on Saturday a few hours after the episode and taken to jail on charges of felony assault with a weapon — the vehicle — felony criminal mischief and driving under the influence, police said. It is not known if she has a lawyer representing her yet.

The 45-year-old man who was struck suffered minor injuries. Members of the group he was with, identified by police as "Israelis for Christ," were holding signs and speaking through an amplifier at the time, a police spokesperson, Lt. Matt Lennick, said.

Lennick said he did not have enough information to comment on what the motive could be.

An update from police said the FBI was also reviewing what happened, along with local prosecutors, suggesting the federal agency was looking into whether it could be a bias-motivated crime.

The group, as named by police, does not appear to have a current online presence and no immediate information could be found.

There is, however, an Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ which is an American organization of Black Hebrew Israelites headquartered in New York. The sect has been described by the Anti-Defamation League as "extreme and antisemitic," and designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

A witness told the KTVQ news channel in Montana Sunday that the demonstrators were "all wearing purple, so it was clearly a group."

Black Hebrew Israelites have been seen at gatherings and marches in matching purple clothing.

But it was not immediately clear if that was the group targeted in Sunday’s attack.

"I just kind of saw this white Jeep fly by me and jump onto the sidewalk, straight at the group of people that were there," the witness told KTVQ. "The first thing that I thought was they lost control and they were in a wreck."

But then the driver tried to hit the group again, said the witness.

Last month, a woman in Indiana was arrested after she drove her car into an Indianapolis residential building used by Black Hebrew Israelites as a school, mistakenly believing it was a Jewish school.

[Twitchy] According to Fox 59, Ruba Almaghtheh, 34, was arrested on a preliminary charge of intimidation. A level 5 felony if the threat is to commit terrorism. Allegedly she had planned the attack on the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge. There's just one problem: the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge is a sect of the Black Hebrew Israelites, a well-known antisemitic hate group.

For those who remember, this was the same group who was harassing the Covington School kids several years ago. A viral video showed Nick Sandmann and a group of his peers attending the March for Life on January 18, 2019 when they were approached by a Native American man beating a drum. It was the Smirk Seen 'Round the World. But it turns out that the Black Hebrew Israelites had been harassing the kids to begin with as they were waiting for their bus AND the kids weren't harassing the drummer.

Black Hebrew Israelites and Palestinian supporters clash during pro-Gaza march in Chicago

[BLAZE] Thousands gathered for a pro-Palestine protest in Chicago on Saturday. However, a bizarre brouhaha erupted between Black Hebrew Israelites and Palestinian supporters.

An estimated crowd of 5,000 pro-Palestine demonstrators marched in Chicago's Loop on Saturday afternoon demanding a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war and that Palestine be freed.

The march supporting Gaza was reportedly organized by the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine — a self-described organization to "mobilize those who seek justice in protest of Israel's violence against an innocent civilian population."

During the march, a group of Black Hebrew Israelites and pro-Palestinian protesters physically clashed with each other.

Israeli student stabbed in Crown Heights in suspected hate crime

An Israeli student was stabbed and lightly injured while walking on a street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of New York City early Saturday morning.

The incident is reportedly being investigated by police as a suspected hate crime.

The student is a member of the Chabad Hasidic community according to Hebrew-language media reports that did not give his age.

The attack happened at 2 a.m. on Saturday as the man was walking on Union Street toward Troy Avenue, the Crownheights.info website reported, citing a police report.

Two men approached the student, who was described as wearing "traditional Jewish garb," and asked him if he was Jewish. They then stabbed him in the arm, apparently with a screwdriver.

The student was able to return home and from there called Hatzalah, the Jewish emergency service, which took him to the hospital where he was treated. He later returned home.

In a tweet, Yaacov Behrman, a public relations official for Chabad, said he had spoken with the student.

"Despite being visibly traumatized, the victim expressed gratitude for not having sustained more severe injuries," Behrman reported. "This incident is deeply concerning, and we have full confidence in the NYPD’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend the perpetrators."

The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, Behram said.

"We are aware of this incident and are reaching out to law enforcement and community partners," the New York division of the Anti-Defamation League tweeted.

Last month it was announced police have recorded 100 anti-Jewish hate crimes in New York City since the start of the year.

The figures showed Jews have been targeted more than any other group, by far, every month of the year.
