Trump announces US airstrikes on terrorist locations in Somalia
2025-02-02
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On February 1, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered airstrikes on targets in Somalia where one of the commanders of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization banned in Russia) was located.

“This morning, I ordered precision military airstrikes against a senior ISIS attack planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia,” the American leader wrote on the social media site Truth Social.

The head of the White House added that the terrorists posed a threat to the United States. According to him, the airstrikes destroyed the caves in which the terrorists were hiding. At the same time, as Trump noted, this happened without causing harm to civilians.

Earlier, NBC, citing the US Africa Command, said that the US military had struck the leader of the ISIS terrorist group in Somalia. The US government publicly named the target of the strike as the head of the group's branch in Somalia, Abdulkadir Mumin, who had secretly become the world leader of the terrorist organization.
ISIS world leader? Impressive.
Garowe adds:
American President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
confirmed multiple Arclight airstrikes
...KABOOM!...
s against the ISIS gunnies in the Bari region of Somalia, noting that the bombardments targeted a senior 'planner' who has been on the run in deep caves within the mountainous areas of Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
Without disclosing the identity of the planner, Trump said the airstrikes destroyed several caves killing 'many terrorists' in the process. No non-combatants were killed or armed during the operations on Saturday, he said in a tweet.

"This morning I ordered precision Military air strikes on the Senior ISIS Attack Planner and other snuffies he recruited and led in Somalia. These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies," Trump said in a shocking statement.

"The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many snuffies without, in any way, harming civilians," he added.

Traditionally, such announcement comes from the US Africa Command, which has bases in Djibouti and trains the Danab Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA). Trump blames his predecessor — Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
, for failing to take action against ISIS gunnies in Somalia.

"Our military has targeted this ISIS Attack Planner for years, but Biden and his cronies wouldn’t act quickly enough to get the job done. I did! The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that "WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU," he said.

Pete Hegseth, the Defence Secretary, said the airstrikes were undertaken by the US Africa Command following the order by President Trump, but the government of Somalia was in charge of coordination.

In its assessment, the Pentagon said multiple operatives were killed, adding that no civilians were maimed. The statement corroborated Trump’s assessment.

Multiple sources confirmed to Garowe Online that approximately six airstrikes hit various locations in the al-Miskaad mountains, causing significant impact, particularly in the Qurac, Buqo, Wangable, and Dhasaan areas. The strikes have been part of ongoing military operations targeting ISIS bases in the Bari region, officials said.

For the last one month, Puntland security forces, bolstered by support from local communities, have escalated their campaign against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, launching what they describe as an all-out offensive against the IS-Somalia murderous Moslems.

The operations aim to dismantle ISIS positions nestled in the rugged terrain, and authorities report significant territorial gains in their fight against the murderous Moslems. Last year, the State Department raised concerns about the capabilities of the ISIS murderous Moslems, terming them 'dangerous'.

While cautioning Somalia, the State Department warned that if actions are not taken, the group could expand territories in Somalia, consequently, affecting the fight against terrorism. In southern regions, Somalia is battling al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
murderous Moslems.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud asked Trump to assist the country in the fight against terrorism, noting that 'we need your support in this war as we endeavour to stabilise Somalia'.

Trump’s direct involvement in Saturday's airstrikes showcases his commitment to assist the Horn of Africa nation in effectively fighting both al-Shabaab and ISIS.
…or his determination to push this thing to closure by winning the war. It remains to be seen whether he is actually interested in supporting either Somalia or Puntland beyond the short term.
America has close to 500 soldiers in Somalia whose primary duty is to train and equip local troops.
More from Garowe:
ISIS is based in Puntland, where it was established in 2015 by former Al-Shabaab leader Abdulkadir Mumin,
…that’s Somali-British ex-Al-Shabaab preacher Sheikh Abdulkadir Mumin or sometimes Abdul Qadir Mumin to you, bub. Show some respect! Born in Puntland in the early 1950s, he spent his forties in Sweden before moving to England in 2005. He preached to eager audiences (including Michael Adebolajo, involved in the murder of British soldier Lee Rigby) at Masjid Quba in Leicester and the Greenwich Islamic Centre in London, but it was in 2010 when he joined a press conference with Guantanamo Bay prisoner Moazzam Begg for the charity CAGE that MI-5 took an interest, driving his return to Puntland, where he joined Al Shabaab. Then in 2015 he and a mere two dozen followers pledged to Al Baghdadi and ISIS, growing tenfold within a year thanks to the romantic viciousness demonstrated by the Iraq/Syria caliphate and material support and training from ISIS in Yemen across the way…
and the group has now been under an offensive for two months by the troops of Somali Federal State, which saw the capture of dozens of its bases and murder of many fighters, including foreigners, according to local authorities.
And from Shabelle Media:
The Pentagon’s counterterrorism strategy in Africa has been strained as two key partners, Chad and Niger, ousted U.S. forces last year and took over key bases that the U.S. military had used to train and conduct missions against terrorist groups across the Sahel, the vast arid expanse south of the Sahara Desert.

U.S. military officials have warned that IS cells have received increasing direction from the group’s leadership that relocated to northern Somalia. That has included how to kidnap Westerners for ransom, how to learn better military tactics, how to hide from drones and how to build their own small quadcopters.

A U.S. military airstrike in Somalia last May targeted IS militants and killed three, according to U.S. Africa Command.

The number of IS militants in the country are estimated to be in the hundreds, mostly scattered in the Cal Miskaat mountains in Puntland’s Bari region, according to the International Crisis Group.

Senate throws out bill seeking public hanging of rape convicts
2024-02-20
[GEO.TV] Senate rejected a bill seeking to publicly execute those convicted of rape with a majority vote on Monday, with parliamentarians strongly opposing the idea as a "counter-effective measure in deterring sexual crimes".

The upper house of parliament rejected the move to amend the Pakistain Penal Code,1860, and Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, through the Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill 2023 with a 24:14 vote.

The bill presented by Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
’s (JI) Senator Mushtaq Ahmed was supported by Senators Mehr Taj Roghani, Kamran Murtaza, Maulana Faiz Muhammad, Hafiz Abdul Kareem, Kamal Ali Agha, Abdul Qadir, and others.

The senators who had voted against the bill called for improved prosecutions, investigations for combating sexual crimes, and a better jail environment to ensure that such heinous crimes are averted in the future.

Defending his proposal after it had been defeated, JI’s Mushtaq said the senators did not talk about the "basic issue" and noted that the politicians spoke about "brutality" becoming rife due to public executions, but it’s already rife.

"I want to halt brutality through public executions. Did the motorway rape case woman and Zainab have no respect? [How] does a rapist have respect?" he wondered, claiming that publicly hanging such criminals would act as a "deterrence".

Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...the political wing of the Pak Taliban...
-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Faiz Muhammad, backing Mushtaq, said that culprits who commit such heinous crimes should be hanged publicly.

Voicing concerns, Pakistain Peoples Party’s (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman strongly opposed the proposal, calling it a counter-effective measure in deterring sexual crimes, and urged improved prosecutions and investigations to address the matter.

Speaking during the session of the Senate, she said: "The Peoples Party has always had a principled stance against the death penalty
, whether public or private."

"While the PPP staunchly condemns rape as a heinous and grave crime, calling for the death penalty or public executions, as seen in various countries, have not proven to be effective in deterring sexual crimes. We must prioritise enhancing prosecutions and investigations rather than resorting to barbarism and violence within society."

One dead in infighting between regime elements in Hasaka: Monitor
2023-09-22
[Rudaw] At least one soldier of the Syrian army was killed Wednesday when infighting erupted between the army and a regime-affiliated militia, a war monitor reported.

Clashes erupted on Wednesday inside a small pocket in central Hasaka city controlled by Damascus where regime institutions are located, known as the Security Square, between Syrian regime forces and the National Defense Forces (NDF), a pro-regime militia. The rest of the city is under the control of Kurdish forces.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor, reported that a Syrian government soldier was killed and four others were maimed during the festivities, adding that 16 NDF fighters surrendered to regime forces.

At least five civilians were also injured in the festivities.

Footage published on social media showed military vehicles, including tanks, being deployed inside the Security Square as the sound of gunfire echoed in the skies.

In a video, NDF commander Abdul Qadir Hamo declared a rebellion and the separation of his militia from the Syrian government forces, slamming officials including Defense Minister Ali Mamlouk for demanding a $3 million ransom to prevent Hamo’s removal from his position.

"From now on, you are not affiliated to the state, and none of you are considered elements of the state. Look, they hit you with RPG launchers and slaughter you like an enemy. They are your enemies," Hamo told his fighters in a video statement.

Security forces from the Kurdish administration in northeast Syria (Rojava) began receiving civilians fleeing the violence in the Security Square after the infighting broke out.

Last month, four people were maimed during festivities between the NDF and the prominent Arab Jubour tribe after the former attacked a leader from the tribe.

[Regnum] FSB officers detained in Crimea six members of a cell of the Islamist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir
...more formally Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, the Islamic Liberation Party. It’s active in about fifty countries and banned in thirteen or so, claiming about a million followers plus the enthusiastic graduates who moved on to real jihadi groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS. (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).
A wise choice. Would that others were as astute.
This was reported on August 25 at the Center for Public Relations (TsOS) of the FSB.

FSB DETAINED A CELL OF SIX HIZB UT-TAHRIR RECRUITERS IN CRIMEA
“The Federal Security Service, in cooperation with the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, suppressed the activities of a cell of the international terrorist organization (ITO) “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami” (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), which consisted of six members of the terrorist structure ", the message says.

The detainees carried out illegal activities based on the ideas of creating a worldwide caliphate, destroying the institutions of secular society and forcibly overthrowing the current government. Using conspiratorial methods, they spread terrorist ideology among the inhabitants of Crimea and recruited Muslims living in the region into the ranks of a banned organization.

At the places of residence of the detainees, they found and confiscated a large amount of prohibited propaganda materials used by the detainees for terrorist activities of communications and electronic media, as well as a large amount of money intended for a terrorist organization. The investigative department of the regional FSB opened criminal cases.

As IA Regnum reported , in mid-June, law enforcement officers detained an active member of the above-mentioned international terrorist organization in Yugra. The man was charged with recruiting.

In January, a court in Simferopol arrested three people suspected of being members of a cell of an international terrorist organization. Before that, six members of the terrorist cell were detained in Crimea.

Ma'rib mercenaries reject offer by Sana'a for prisoner information swap

by Emad Almarshahi

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtadha, confirmed that the US-Saudi mercenaries in Ma’rib rejected an offer to discover the fate of the leader of the “Islah” party, in exchange for revealing the fate of a group of prisoners.

Al-Murtadha wrote on Twitter: “We were informed by the United Nations that the mercenaries of Ma’rib rejected the offer made by us to disclose the fate of Muhammad Qahtan in exchange for them disclosing a group of prisoners and detainees in their prisons.”

Al-Murtadha stressed that this behavior indicates that the mercenaries do not want to know the fate of Qahtan, but they attempt to obstruct this humanitarian issue and to thwart all efforts made to complete the agreed-upon exchanges.

2023-03-04
[TOLONEWS] The supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, met with the heads of the interior, foreign, and defense ministries as well as religious holy mans and officials of several provinces, and discussed the activities of the government departments as well as next year’s budget," a front man said.

The Islamic Emirate’s front man, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Mawlawi Hibatullah met with acting Minister of Defense Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid; acting Minister of Interior, Sirajuddin Haqqani
...son of Pashtun warlord Jalaluddin Haqqani, still titular head of the Haqqani Network....
; the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and the acting Minister of Technology Information and Telecommunication.

According to Mujahid, the meeting was also attended by holy mans from Kabul, Khost, Nangarhar

"The Emir (leader) always calls on his ministers and is monitoring them and giving them essential advice," he said.

"The religious holy mans have responsibilities regarding the nation and people. The holy mans should convey the problems in front of the people to the leader," said Abdul Qadir Qanat, a religious holy man.

But what is the real message behind the meeting of the Islamic Emirate’s supreme leader with the acting ministers?

"Security measures--because of the ISIS and Resistance® Front issue and as well as the issue of female schools and universities--might have been discussed," said Aziz Maarij, a political analyst.

After back-to-back edicts of the Islamic Emirate’s leader, a council of religious holy mans from 19 provinces has been formed in order for holy mans to provide consultation to local officials.

Shopkeepers in Paktia Complain of High Taxes
2022-11-12
[ToloNews] The shopkeepers in the southeastern province of Paktia claimed that they are paying more taxes than they were paying under the previous government.

The shopkeepers said this is the case despite the Islamic Emirate’s decision to reduce the taxes from 1.5 percent to 0.5 percent.

"While the previous government imposed 1.5 percent, the taxes would have been between 14,000 Afs to 15,000 Afs. Now, while the taxes have been reduced to 0.5 percent,

they issued the bill for 200,000 Afs," said Qayom Khan, a shopkeeper.

The shopkeepers said that they are obliged to sell the materials at a high price due to high taxes.

"The tax on me is 334,000 Afs. The business is also not as good as in the time of government. We call on the government to show flexibility with us," said Abdul Qadir Khoshal, owner of a market.

"The materials in my shop are worth around 500,000 Afs and half it is a loan. But I am charged with 200,000 Afs," said Abdullah, a shopkeeper.

Despite consecutive attempts, TOLOnews was unable to obtain any comment from the local officials in this regard.

Last week, the second deputy prime minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, visited Paktia to assess the trade and financial challenges in the country.

The shopkeepers said that there has yet to be any progress in this regard.

Family Conflict in Eastern Afghanistan: 5 Fatalities Including Women
2022-09-23
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A dispute which sparked between two families, in the eastern Afghan province of Laghman
...Afghan province with a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. The population is half Pashtun, the remainder Tadjik and Pashai. It had a repution for great wealth until it was conquered in the tenth century by Abu Mansur Sabuktigin.
He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.
After that it was mostly notable for the production of dirt, rocks, and holy men...
, led to five fatalities, said local Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
authorities.

The Taliban-run Bakhtar state news agency reported that the conflict between the families took place in the Dawlat Shah district of Laghman province on Thursday.

According to Qari Abdul Qadir Mutawakkul, the district governor of the Taliban in Dawlat Shah district, in the conflict, the father, mother, and son of one family, as well as a couple from another family, were killed.

The Taliban officials, on the other hand, did not comment or provide any information about what prompted the families to inflict human losses on one another.

A land dispute between two families earlier in late August in the southeast Afghan province of Khost
...which coincidentally borders North Wazoo and Kurram Agency...
resulted in one fatality and 10 injuries.

In the southeast and east of Afghanistan, disputes over land and water have become common among tribes and families, often resulting in the tragic death of their loved ones.

Under the Taliban’s control, there has recently been a marked rise in reports of suicide, domestic violence, honor killings, family conflicts, and personal enmity.

Daily Evacuation Brief: September 1, 2022
2022-09-01
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • PANJSHIRI CIVILIAN EVICTIONS — Sources in Panjshir are reporting that Taliban commanders are warning villagers to hand over Resistance fighters or be prepared to be evicted from their homes. Many evictions have been previously reported in the province, as well as in Takhar and Baghlan. The latest threats appear to be a part of the Taliban’s new special commander for Panjshir’s strategy of denying the NRF local support.

  • PAKISTANI VISA RESUMPTION — Taliban leadership is demanding that Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul promptly begin issuing visas again and instruct consulates to do the same. Several consulates had previously frozen new applications while the new Pakistani ambassador was installed in Kabul. Reportedly, many Kandahari residents have been pressuring the Taliban to restart the process.

  • HOUSE-TO-HOUSE SEARCH FAILURE — A source within the Ministry of the Interior has claimed that senior Taliban leadership is unhappy with the lack of results from the recent house-to-house search operations that have been carried out in multiple provinces across the country. Apparently, they were expecting a significant haul of weapons from the searches. Another round of searches is reputedly in the planning stages.

  • DEMANDS FOR JUSTICE — International outrage was sparked when a young woman named Elaha claimed to have been forcibly married to Saeed Khosty, a Haqqani network member and former Ministry of Interior spokesman. She released several videos on social media in which she claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Khosty before being forced to marry him and tortured during their marriage; she included purported video and photographic evidence. Khosty denied her allegations and stated that he divorced her because of her lack of faith and blasphemy against the Quran. This is an important opportunity for the Taliban to demonstrate their ability to execute justice, but unfortunately Khosty will likely face no consequences.
