The statement further added that the deputy shadow governor of Taliban for Nangarhar Sheikh Zar Mohammad alias Rahmani was killed along with several other senior Taliban leaders in the airstrikes. The other key Taliban leaders killed in the airstrikes have been identified as Noorullah, the deputy shadow district chief of Taliban for Shirzad district, Syeda Jan and Zabiullah. The shadow judge of Taliban for Shirzad district Mawlavi Mohammad Alam, his brother, and 17 other bully boyz were also killed in the airstrikes, the statement added. The anti-government armed bully boyz including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far. |

Five soldiers killed in militant attack along Pak-Afghan border: ISPR |

[DAWN] Five soldiers of the Pakistain Army and over 15 suspected forces of Evil were reportedly killed in a cross-border "terrorist attack" on three Pak border posts along the Pak-Afghan border area on Sunday night, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a blurb. In addition to the 15, some 20 suspected forces of Evil were also injured in the operation, ISPR said. It further said that there are "credible reports" that six of the 15 who were killed Sunday night were "operational level terrorists", namely Kuchay Bajuari, Zar Mohammad alias Madni, Huzaifa, Sangary, Lakhkari and Sangeen ISPR said "terrorists" from across the border had targeted the posts late on Sunday night in ![]() ... Named for the Mohmand clan of the Sarban Pahstuns, a truculent, quarrelsome lot. In Pakistain, the Mohmands infest their eponymous Agency, metastasizing as far as the plains of Peshawar, Charsadda, and Mardan. Mohmands are also scattered throughout Pakistan in urban areas including Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta. In Afghanistan they are mainly found in Nangarhar and Kunar... He said: "Terrorists are [a] common threat and must be denied freedom of movement/action along the border." The army chief emphasised the need for physical presence of troops on Afghan side of the border for "matching [the Pak side] and effective border security". The COAS expressed grief on loss of precious lives and hailed the slain soldiers' sacrifice. |

Police officials said that assistant commissioner Ahmad Usman Javed was going to Takht-e-Nusrati after Eid vacation when some people travelling in two cars started chasing his car near Shahidan Chountra on the Indus Highway. According to the FIR registered with Karak cop shoppe on the written application of the assistant commissioner, the alleged kidnappers in two cars chased his car and tried to stop it. Sensing the danger, he informed the district police officer Atiqullah Wazir about the two cars. The DPO directed the police to block all exit and entry points of the district and trace the suspected cars. Police intercepted the two cars near Shahidan Chountra and arrested the eight suspects. The convoy was on its way to Levies centre in Shahkas when it was attacked. In Sur Kas area of Bar Qambarkhel, four children were maimed when a mortar shell fell on the house of Askar Khan Malikdinkhel. In Bannu, two cellular phone shops were blown up by unidentified persons at a market on Dera Road on Wednesday. Sources said that unidentified persons planted improvised bombs near the shops of Zubair and Karimullah in a market at Taji Kallay Bus Stand that went off one after another at 1am, destroying both the shops. The shutters of the shops and cellular phone sets were destroyed, inflicting heavy losses on the owners. |

Anti-Taliban volunteer slaughtered in Peshawar |

Another source said that a letter was also found near the bodies, stating that all those supporting police and security forces would meet the same fate. It smelled phony... a meeting of different peace bodies of Peshawar was held at the residence of Badhber Qaumi Lashkar chief Fahimur Rehman on Tuesday. The meeting condemned the killing of the two persons and alleged that police were responsible for the incident. Mukamil Shah, Israr Khan, Nasim Khan of Mashogagar, Zar Mohammad of Sheikh Mohammadi, Amjad, Arif Khan, Khan Mohammad and Irfan of Badhber, Jamal Hussain Surizai and Hashim Ali of Hazarkhwani, Altaf Bacha of Matani and Shafi Malik of Shahabkhel attended the meeting. Mr Fahim said that Shamsur Rehman was deputy head of a local peace body and was involved in killing of three hard boys. He helped police and security forces at different times, he added. "We have always extended full support to the law enforcement agencies against Taliban but the government instead of financing us deprived us of our arms and ammunitions," he alleged and added that police raided residences of their volunteers and collected weapons from them. The peace body workers, he said, helped police in arrest of many high profile forces of Evil but government gave their head money to someone else and disappointed volunteers. He said that Shamsur Rehman was very active member of the peace body and had vast information about Taliban. He was picked by Tariq Afridi-led Taliban of Darra Adamkhel, he added. In Khyber Agency ![]() Officials said that a security man was killed when forces of Evil attacked a checkpost in Qambarabad locality. They said that at least nine persons were incarcerated when security forces conducted a search operation in the area after the incident. In Akkakhel area, a volunteer of local tribal lashkar was killed when forces of Evil ambushed a patrol party of the peace body. Also, forces of Evil attacked two oil tankers supply fuel to NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. 7 Pak Talibs banged in Mohmand |

Seven Taliban, including a local commander, were killed in a gunbattle with Frontier Corps (FC) troops in Darwazgai area of Mohmand Agency, the FC said on Tuesday, APP reported. An FC official was also killed in the clash that continued for three hours early in the morning. Local security officials told AFP the gunfight started around 3am after the Taliban attacked an FC checkpost. "According to our reports, militant commander Zar Mohammad, alias 606, was killed in the clash," one official told AFP. Kurram: Rival tribes in Kurram Agency abducted over 30 tribesmen after some unidentified armed men opened fire at a jeep going to Peshawar, the Online news agency reported. The firing on the vehicle killed one person and injured another, while the assailants also took three other persons travelling in the vehicle hostage. According to the details, five family members of the Toori tribe were going to Peshawar from Kurram for the medical treatment of Riaz Ali, when the attackers fired at their jeep near Hangu. Riaz was killed while Mukhtar Ali, a schoolteacher, sustained injuries. The Toori, and its rival tribe Bangash, have abducted more than 30 people of each other so far. Police cordoned off the area and started investigation into the killing and abductions. Bajaur: Unidentified men torched the houses of eight tribal elders in Bajaur Agency on Tuesday, locals told Daily Times. The houses were burnt in Wara Kharkai area of Mamoond tehsil. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Meanwhile, security forces are gaining control over various areas of agency headquarters Nawagai, which were earlier under the Taliban control. WANA: United States spy planes and fighter jets on Tuesday violated Pakistani airspace, flying over several villages in South Waziristan Agency, Online reported. Two US jets entered Pakistani airspace and returned to Afghanistan after hovering over Angoor Adda, security sources in Wana said. The intrusions by US pilotless aircraft have increased in recent months and at least five drones were seen flying simultaneously over Wana and adjoining areas. The planes returned to Afghanistan after tribesmen opened fire at them. A jirga of tribal leaders was later held in Wana Bazaar, which strongly condemned the airspace violation. |
