Heavy Gunfire In Abuja As Nigerian Soldiers Shoot At Protesting Shiites
2025-03-30 | |
[SaharaReporters] There is tension presently in the Wuse area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, over persistent gunshots as the Nigerian Army personnel attacked and shot at the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) …Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky (and a number of other spellings), the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood in Nigeria, converted to Shi'ism after a visit to Iran and now is a fiery Iranian sock puppet. He founded the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), the Shiite version of the Muslim Brotherhood — only beholden to Iran. Nigeria declared IMN a terror group in 2019. ... at the Banex Plaza. Speaking with SaharaReporters, a source in the area said, "It's been a rain of sporadic shootings by the Nigerian Army around Austoma Petrol Station/ Banex Axis on Aminu Kano Cresent, Wuse 2, Abuja. "Some parts of the road have been condoned to probably fish out the Islamic protesters that might be hiding around. I had to abandon my car on the Ahmadu Bello/Aminu Kano Cresent Traffic light because of the shootings." The clash occurred just hours after the United States Embassy in Nigeria issued a security alert, warning its citizens about planned IMN protests in Abuja and other major cities on Friday. In the advisory, the US Embassy had cautioned that demonstrations could lead to disruptions such as roadblocks, traffic congestion, and possible confrontations. "The Islamic Movement of Nigeria has called for demonstrations in Abuja and other major cities on Friday, March 28, 2025. Heavy traffic and other disruptions are possible. Based on past occurrences, protests may involve roadblocks, checkpoints, traffic congestion, and physical confrontations," the embassy had stated. The security warning listed potential protest locations, including Banex Plaza, Berger Junction, Unity Fountain, the National Human Rights Commission Head Office, Eagle Square, Area 10 Shopping Plaza, the National Mosque, al-Noor Mosque, and Fouad Lababidi Mosque.
According to reports, at least 19 demonstrators were killed and dozens more wounded in Abuja on Friday. Video footage of the scenes shows armed forces securing the perimeter as protestors flee for cover while bullet shots are heard. The footage also shows soldiers dragging the lifeless body of a civilian on the street and dumping it into a pickup while beating two other protesters and forcing them to get into another truck. The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) had expressed concern over attacks against protesters after it was revealed that Nigerian authorities were making preparations in this regard as a pretext for an attack. The Office of the National Security Adviser had stressed the necessity to stop the al-Quds day demonstration to “prevent a breach of the peace” by the pro-Palestinian protesters, according to a leaked internal letter seen by the IHRC. In the leaked communique, Nigerian authorities had warned that though the pro-Palestinian demonstrations were peaceful, the protesters had the potential to seek justice by attacking US and Israeli interests in the country. Therefore, their demos must be stopped. This method has been used by Nigeria’s pro-Israel officials in recent years to prompt the forces to stage a violent crackdown on the demonstrators. At least one person was killed, and many more were injured after police opened fire on the Quds Day demo in Abuja in 2023. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN)
The sect was reacting to an alleged video taken within the premises of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Abuja. The video was said to have been shared in a WhatsApp group of the police community in the FCT which later went viral on social media showing how the police forcefully removed the Hijab of Moslem sisters, while in police detention. The police had arrested some members of the group during the 2024 Abuja Arba’een Symbolic Trek. IMN in another round of protest urged the police authorities to respect people’s religion and culture. "Such an act is termed as a disregard for Islamic Values and an attack on Islam itself," a member of IMN told SaharaReporters. "This action could be attributed to the fact that the majority of Policemen in Nigeria are not Moslems, Coupled with hate of Islam, the police forcefully removed the Hijab of many Moslems in public and subjected them to molestation. "This act can never be tolerated in any way. Remember that on Sunday the 25th of August 2024, Policemen in Abuja opened fire on a peaceful Ashura protest. Many were arrested." Earlier, the group in a statement by its media team said the alleged action by the police has deeply offended the Moslem community, describing the abuse of the hijab as "more painful than the shelling of live ammunition." The statement read, "Our attention has been drawn to a one-minute, twenty-one-second video taken by a police officer within the premises of the FCT Police Command and shared it in a WhatsApp group of the police community in the FCT Abuja, and later the video went viral on social media showing how the police forcefully removed the hijab of our Moslem sisters, while in police detention. The Moslem Sisters were arrested during the 2024 Abuja Arba’een Symbolic Trek. "Our attention has also been drawn to pictures of people arrested during the 2024 Abuja Abra’een Symbolic Trek paraded by the police on 28 August 2024 to newsmen at SARS Abbatoir. The pictures taken by the newsmen also showed our Moslem sisters without Hijab. "Hijab is a commandment of Allah, the creator of earth and heaven. Allah (T) says in the Qur’an, "O Prophet! Say to your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers that they should let down upon themselves their jalabib." (Qur’an: Surah al-Ahzab, verse 59). "Hijab is our religion, culture, and right, and the abuse of Hijab is more painful to us than the shelling of live ammunition on us. We will not take this abuse lightly. Certainly, an abuse to Hijab is not just an abuse to the people arrested but to the Moslems and the religion of Islam."

[ARABNEWS] An attack by an outlawed pro-Iran ![]() spontaneouslytaking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militiasto extend the regime's influence. The word Iranis a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGCis the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA).The term Supreme Guideis a the modern version form of either Duceor Führeror maybe both. They hate Nigerian Shiite group on Sunday killed at least two law enforcement officers, police said, with three more found unconscious in the capital Abuja. The capital's police force confirmed ''an unprovoked attack by the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN)... on some personnel of the Nigeria Police Force,'' said a statement by police spokeswoman Josephine Adeh.
Inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran in the late 1970s, the IMN still maintains close ties with Tehran. It has long been at loggerheads with Nigeria's secular authorities and was banned in 2019. Sunday's attackers carried out their assault wielding machetes, knives and improvised bombs, according to the police. With several arrests made, Abuja's police commissioner, Benneth C. Igweh, condemned the ''unprovoked attack,'' vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. ''The situation is presently under control and normality restored,'' the police statement added. In July 2021, after more than five years in prison, IMN leader Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife were released by a court in Kaduna, in the north of the country. A Shiite holy man, Zakzaky has repeatedly called for an Iranian-style Islamic revolution in Nigeria — where the Moslem population is predominantly Sunni. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN)
This was stated by the Chairman, Resource Forum of IMN, Prof. Abdullahi Danladi in Abuja on Saturday, condemning the "prolonged escalation of the war and ’oppression on Paleostinian territories." The Paleostinian corpse count since the war started passed 7,700, according to the Health Ministry in Hamas ![]() -ruled Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... . In the occupied West Bank, more than 110 Paleostinians have been killed in the violence and Israeli raids. Reacting to this, Danladi, in his speech, said, "The essence of our gathering is to once again address you and the good people of Nigeria and beyond on the continued escalation of atrocities being committed on the people of Paleostine by the Zionist State of Israel. "It is on record that our Leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky has been championing solidarity with not just the Paleostinians, but all the weak and oppressed people across the globe. "The recent events in the Middle East and particularly the occupied land of Paleostine has opened another chapter in human history. For over seventy- five years, the Zionists have been killing and forcefully ejecting the Paleostinians from their homes under the watch and supervision of America and her allies. So far, several thousands have been killed, most of whom were children and women. Hospitals, schools, refugee camps and worship centers have not been spared of the crimes of Israel. "Where are the so called champions of human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedomat the convenience of the state... and advocates of democratic and human values? America is not only silent, but in flagrant abuse of human lives and freedom as seen sending warships to aid and support the Israel in its continual massacre. "The wave of support being shown to the weak and oppressed people of Paleostine globally by people of different faiths and nationalities, including some right thinking Jews, is a clear testimony to the fact that the state of Israel today stands out as the most hated state in the world." He continued: "It is a known fact that Israel has serially violated charter of the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... and resolutions concerning this illegal occupation by which they have continued to extend and encroach into the very paltry territory of the Paleostine. Therefore, the resistance we all see by the Hamas is to say the least, in line with cardinal principles of self-determination, self defence and rights protection. "These brave people have remained steadfast in their holy struggle. Thus, we salute and assure you of our continuous prayers and support. Indeed, the Islamic Movement under the revered leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has for over three decades consistently shown its unflinching support to the oppressed Paleostine. "We will like to call on those who are ignorant of the history and events in the Middle East and tend to see the Zionist as their brothers in faith, to see things beyond the prism of faith, race, colour, etc. The recent attacks on Churches and hospital are enough to show that it is beyond the issue of religion, rather it is crime against humanity which must be condemned. "On this note, we join our voices in calling the Nigerian government to immediately cut off all relations and ties with Israel." At least 20 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN),
Engineer Yunusa Lawal, one of the movement's leaders who spoke to journalists after the clash, claimed they were on a peaceful procession to protest Israel's continued illegal occupation of Paleostine before the police allegedly attacked their members. Yunusa said: "About 20 of our members suffered varying degrees of injuries with 2 of them including a woman sustaining gunshot injury, but so far, we cannot ascertain whether there is any casualty or not. "Apartheid Israel continues its illegal occupation of Paleostine. Incessant terror attacks by the Israeli brutal forces are being done frequently. The gross violations of human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... against Paleostinians become the order of the day. "The increase in people’s awareness of the injustice being perpetrated against Paleostine and the exposure of atrocities being committed is what we are sensitising people about. "The Islamic Movement has been observing this event for decades in Nigeria. In fact, one of the reasons for the Buhari massacre in Zaria to kill Sheikh El -Zakzaky and disbanding the Islamic Movement was this support and solidarity for the Paleostinian. "The same Buhari-led government that used the military to inflict the death-threatening injuries on Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife is now denying them their fundamental human rights to health by imposing an illegal ban on their travel documents. "We condemn the continued incursions into al-Aqsa mosque and occupation of Paleostine by the apartheid Zionist Israel regime and We support the oppressed people of Paleostine in their just struggle. "We also condemn the continued denial of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife, Muallima Zeenah, their travel passports to enable the couple to travel for medical treatment." When Kaduna Police spokesperson, DSP Muhammad Jalige was called to react to the development, he did not pick his calls. He also didn’t respond to text messages as of the time of filing this report. The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN)
In a statement signed by the Secretary of Academic Forum of the movement, Abdullahi Muhammad Musa, the group attributed the tragic incident that led to the death of their members to the inciting statement allegedly made by the governor a few days ago. The governor was said to have incited members of his political Party in Zaria, against the movement and its leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky(H), where he told them that they must vote for his anointed candidate, Senator Uba Sani. SaharaReporters gathered that the governor's convoy ran into the peaceful protesters along the airport road demanding for the release of travel documents of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah. It was learnt that the combined security operatives reportedly fired both teargas canisters and live bullets at the crowd killing five persons on the spot. One of the victims was identified as Aliyu Suleiman, an 18 years old Mechanical Engineering Student of Kaduna State Polytechnic. The statement read, "Few days after the Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, incited members of his political Party in Zaria, against the the Islamic movement in Nigeria and it leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky(H), where he told them that they must Vote his anointed candidate, Senator Uba Sani, so he may finish off what he described as the remnants of El-zakzaky's Shiites in Zaria. "The governor told the APC faithfuls that it's only his successor that can fight and finish the Shiites in the state. Incidentally, less than 48 hours to the state's Governorship election followers of the oppressed leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria came out to protest against tyrant Buhari's refusal to remove the illegal travelling ban on their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife to travel out for medical treatment, El-Rufai's convoy, ran into the protesters and opened fire with live ammunition on them, killing more than five on the spot. "These include Aliyu Suleiman, an 18 years old Mechanical Engineering Student of Kaduna State Polytechnic. Several others sustained various degrees of life threatening injuries, an unspecified number of passerby were also shot and arrested."
