[NINANEWS] Baghdad Operations Command forces overthrew a runaway "ISIS" terrorist in al-Yusufiyah district, south of Baghdad. The Command stated in a statement that a force from the 17th Infantry Division, in cooperation with a detachment from (Mahmoudiya Intelligence and Security, Federal Police Command Intelligence) in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department of the Baghdad Operations Command, and in a qualitative operation, was able to arrest a terrorist (ISIS) nicknamed (Al-Fiter) "responsible for the squads of manufacturing boom-mobiles" in the terrorist ISIS organization. It explained that this came after receiving accurate intelligence information indicating his presence and monitoring his movements within the area of responsibility. After surrounding his location and setting up a tight ambush for him, he was arrested in the village of "Al-Islah" in the al-Yusufiyah district, south of Baghdad. The terrorist was handed over to the competent authorities to receive his just punishment according to the law. [SHAFAQ] Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service has arrested on Thursday an ISIS prominent leader in southern Baghdad. The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Yahya Rasool, announced in a statement that "Counter-Terrorism forces carried out operations in al-Radwaniyah, al-Yusufiya and al-Dora, south of Baghdad, and arrested the terrorist Abu Hanan, who works as the Emir of Hamza Sector / South Sector." The operation led to destroying ISIS hideout and seizing ammunition and weapons in al-Yusufiya. The Counter-terrorism forces also struck the central hideout of the "Southern province" in the al-Zaidan district of al-Radwaniyah, which killed three terrorists, Abu Osama, Abu Rabie, and Abu Sarah. According to the statement, those ISIS members provided support to the suicide faceless myrmidons who blew themselves up on innocent citizens in Tayaran Square. [SHAFAQ] four separate attacks targeted the Global Coalition in Iraq in less than 24 hours. A source told Shafaq News Agency that the earth-shattering kaboom occurred today evening when a convoy carrying logistical support equipment for the US-led Coalition was passing through Yusufiya district, south of Baghdad. Hours ago, two devices blew up hitting other convoys in Babel Governorate, the first on Babel Highway, and the second near the Sumer Bridge area. Earlier this morning, an bomb blew up while a convoy of the International Coalition was passing on Nasiriya Road in Dhi Qar Governorate. The attacks caused no causalities. There was no claim of responsibility Earlier, the Iraqi authorities issued warnings of repeated targeting of foreign forces and diplomatic missions in the country. |

[NRTtv] SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency said on Friday (February 5) that six Islamic State (ISIS) militants were arrested during raids on their hideouts in Kirkuk governorate’s Daquq and Hawija districts. Weapons and equipment were seized from the locations. On Thursday, two ISIS militants were arrested in coordination with the security forces in Sulaimani governorate and two others was arrested in Baghdad’s Yusufiya and Diyala’s Azim districts, the federal Counterterrorism Service tweeted. The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) also said that its fighters killed two ISIS leaders on Karma Island in Anbar governorate’s Fallujah district. In December 2017, the Iraqi Security Forces, in cooperation with the Peshmerga and the PMF and aided by Coalition airstrikes, declared victory over ISIS. Since then, the militant group has resorted to guerrilla hit-and-run tactics and remains a potent threat in some parts of the country.
