Baghdad Operations Command overthrows a fugitive ''ISIS'' terrorist south of Baghdad

[NINANEWS] Baghdad Operations Command forces overthrew a runaway "ISIS" terrorist in al-Yusufiyah district, south of Baghdad.

The Command stated in a statement that a force from the 17th Infantry Division, in cooperation with a detachment from (Mahmoudiya Intelligence and Security, Federal Police Command Intelligence) in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department of the Baghdad Operations Command, and in a qualitative operation, was able to arrest a terrorist (ISIS) nicknamed (Al-Fiter) "responsible for the squads of manufacturing boom-mobiles" in the terrorist ISIS organization.

It explained that this came after receiving accurate intelligence information indicating his presence and monitoring his movements within the area of responsibility. After surrounding his location and setting up a tight ambush for him, he was arrested in the village of "Al-Islah" in the al-Yusufiyah district, south of Baghdad. The terrorist was handed over to the competent authorities to receive his just punishment according to the law.

Counter-Terrorism Service delivers the final blow against ISIS in 'Southern Province', Statement says

[SHAFAQ] Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service has arrested on Thursday an ISIS prominent leader in southern Baghdad.

The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Yahya Rasool, announced in a statement that "Counter-Terrorism forces carried out operations in al-Radwaniyah, al-Yusufiya and al-Dora, south of Baghdad, and arrested the terrorist Abu Hanan, who works as the Emir of Hamza Sector / South Sector."

The operation led to destroying ISIS hideout and seizing ammunition and weapons in al-Yusufiya.

The Counter-terrorism forces also struck the central hideout of the "Southern province" in the al-Zaidan district of al-Radwaniyah, which killed three terrorists, Abu Osama, Abu Rabie, and Abu Sarah.

According to the statement, those ISIS members provided support to the suicide faceless myrmidons who blew themselves up on innocent citizens in Tayaran Square.

Within 24 hours, four attacks target the US-led Coalition in Iraq

[SHAFAQ] four separate attacks targeted the Global Coalition in Iraq in less than 24 hours.

A source told Shafaq News Agency that the earth-shattering kaboom occurred today evening when a convoy carrying logistical support equipment for the US-led Coalition was passing through Yusufiya district, south of Baghdad.

Hours ago, two devices blew up hitting other convoys in Babel Governorate, the first on Babel Highway, and the second near the Sumer Bridge area.

Earlier this morning, an bomb blew up while a convoy of the International Coalition was passing on Nasiriya Road in Dhi Qar Governorate.

The attacks caused no causalities.

There was no claim of responsibility

Earlier, the Iraqi authorities issued warnings of repeated targeting of foreign forces and diplomatic missions in the country.

6 ISIS militants busted in Kirkuk — one a BigTurban

[NRTtv] SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency said on Friday (February 5) that six Islamic State (ISIS) militants were arrested during raids on their hideouts in Kirkuk governorate’s Daquq and Hawija districts.

Weapons and equipment were seized from the locations.

On Thursday, two ISIS militants were arrested in coordination with the security forces in Sulaimani governorate and two others was arrested in Baghdad’s Yusufiya and Diyala’s Azim districts, the federal Counterterrorism Service tweeted.

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) also said that its fighters killed two ISIS leaders on Karma Island in Anbar governorate’s Fallujah district.

In December 2017, the Iraqi Security Forces, in cooperation with the Peshmerga and the PMF and aided by Coalition airstrikes, declared victory over ISIS. Since then, the militant group has resorted to guerrilla hit-and-run tactics and remains a potent threat in some parts of the country.

The Popular Mobilization Units said, as published by the official Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the Operations Command of East Anbar Governorate managed to kill Islamic State leaders north of the Fallujah District.

The statement said that "one of the snuffies is the emir of northern Baghdad and al-Karma, called Muhannad Ahmad Habib, and the other terrorist is Omar Abdel-Kassar, a member of the organization."

The Iraqi government forces, including the Popular Mobilization Units, are currently conducting extensive security operations against the terrorist organization, the frequency of which has increased after two terrorist bombings in the center of the capital, Baghdad, which killed and maimed dozens.

Lebanese pro-Iranian TV channel al-Mayadeen reported that the explosion targeted a convoy carrying military equipment to a base hosting U.S. forces south of the capital. The channel said there was damage to one vehicle but no casualties.

The reports say the earth-shattering kaboom targeted military vehicles in the area of Yusufiyah near the Iraqi capital, amid tensions between the US and Iran.

Three people wounded in bomb blast, south of Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Three people were maimed as a kaboom took place, south of Baghdad, a police source was quoted saying on Sunday.

"A bomb place near a market in al-Sayyid Abdullag region in al-Yusufiya, south of Baghdad, went off, leaving three people injured," the source told AlSumaria News.

Security troops, according to the source, who preferred anonymity, "cordoned off the blast scene, while the injured were taken to hospital for treatment."

Seven people killed, injured in bomb blast, armed attack in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Two people were killed, while five others were injured in a bomb blast and armed attack, a security source said on Sunday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today, the source said, “a bomb, went off targeting a restaurant in al-Yusufiya region, south of Baghdad.”

“The blast left one civilian killed and four others wounded, including an army conscript,” he added.

Moreover, the source said, “gunmen opened fire against a store owner and his son in Baghdad al-Jadida region, east of the capital, which caused death of the owner and injury of his son.”

Bomb attack near Baghdad market leaves three civilians injured – source

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) ‐ A bomb kaboom near a popular market in southern Baghdad left three civilians maimed on Wednesday, according to a security source.

"An explosive charge placed near a busy street market went off today at Yusufiyah town in southern Baghdad, leaving three civilians maimed," the source told Baghdad Today news website.

"Security forces cordoned off the blast site and opened a probe into the kaboom," the source said, adding that the injured were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.

6 people, including security personnel, killed, wounded in bomb blasts in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Six people, including security personnel, were killed and maimed in two kabooms in south of Baghdad, security sources said on Saturday.

"A bomb went kaboom! near a market in al-Yusufiya region, south of Baghdad, leaving one person killed and three others maimed," the source told Baghdad Today. "Ambulance rushed to the blast spot and transferred the maimed to hospital for treatment, while the victim was taken to forensic medicine department."

Moreover, two tribal fighters were maimed in another bomb kaboom in south of the capital.

"A bomb went off, today, on the side of a road in Arab Jabour region, south of Baghdad, targeting a patrol of the Tribal Mobilization Forces," another source told Alghad Press.

"The blast left two personnel maimed," the source added. "Security cordoned off the kaboom scene and conducted investigations , while the maimed were taken to hospital."

Explosion leaves three people dead, injured in Baghdad

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – A civilian was killed and two others were wounded Wednesday in a bomb blast in northern the Iraqi capital Baghdad, a security source was quoted as saying.

Speaking to Alghad Press news website, the source said: “A bomb exploded Wednesday near a popular market at al-Taji neighborhood, north of Baghdad, leaving one person dead and two others injured.”

“A security force rushed to the blast site and carried the body to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source added.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A civilian was killed, while a police conscript was wounded in two armed attacks in Baghdad, security sources were quoted saying on Tuesday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today website, a source said, “unidentified gunmen opened fire against a civilian in Shohadaa al-Bayaa region, south of Baghdad, which left him immediately killed.”

Moreover, another source said “gunmen on a motorbike opened fire against a police conscript in a district in northeast of Baghdad, leaving him seriously wounded.”

The attackers, according to the source, “stole his salary before running away.”

The victim was transferred to forensic medicine department, while the wounded was transferred to hospital, the sources added.
