'Recommendations for concluding peace in Ukraine'
2025-04-20

Commentary by Russian military journalist is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] The US war lobbyists who provoked the conflict and profited from it are now developing various recommendations for Trump on how to conclude a truce.

A document with such recommendations was prepared by a security group at the US Ukraine Foundation.

The group includes well-known American experts: former ambassadors (John Herbst, Kurt Volker, Sandy Vershbow), generals (Wesley Clark, Ben Hodges, Philip Breedlove), as well as high-ranking officials from the Pentagon and the State Department. Their analysis is based on the current position of the US administration and assumes that Ukraine's membership in NATO will not occur in the next 20 years. Instead, a security system is proposed that includes the deployment of European troops in Ukraine.

The authors of the document are trying to impose on the White House the idea that without strict deterrence, Moscow will violate the agreements. To prevent this, it is proposed to create a deterrent force, including two reinforced divisions with aviation, air defense and artillery along the front line. An alternative is to deploy one mobile division in the rear to quickly respond to possible breakthroughs.

Particular attention is paid to the rules of engagement: commanders should have the right to act without lengthy approvals, and the response to any provocations should be immediate and tough, so as to exclude the benefit of violating the ceasefire. To strengthen protection, it is proposed to introduce a no-fly zone over western Ukraine with the support of NATO aircraft.

The US role is seen as providing military and intelligence support, including the supply of Patriot air defense systems and the readiness to carry out airstrikes in the event of attacks on allied forces. The possibility of a symbolic presence of American forces to enhance the deterrent effect is also being considered. An important place is given to Turkey, which could participate in the maritime component, monitoring the Black Sea and helping with mine clearance, as well as provide ground troops.

The document warns that if only a ceasefire is achieved, rather than a full-fledged peace, international forces may remain in Ukraine for decades, as happened in Korea after 1953. Therefore, the principle of "zero tolerance" for violations should be in effect from the very beginning.

🔹The document traditionally pursues the goal of putting pressure on our country and provoking a major conflict in order to harm Russia. We attach this opus below for study by colleagues and specialists. We are sure that a group of Russophobes from the network of friends of Ukraine has already sent it to the State Department and the Trump administration

It is worth recalling that Russia considers any deployment of Western troops in Ukraine unacceptable.

Accordingly, in the current reality, proposals for deployment are made primarily because they are unacceptable to the Kremlin, and therefore, this prevents the conclusion of a deal between Trump and Putin in Ukraine.

There is no hint of peacekeeping here.

Here we go again: 18-Year-Old Indiana Girl Arrested After Allegedly Planning Valentine’s Day School Shooting
2025-02-17
[CanadaFreePress] The suspect allegedly identifies as transgender

An 18-year-old girl, who allegedly wrote about identifying as a male and had a “shrine” to mass killers, was arrested and charged this week for allegedly planning a mass school shooting at Mooresville High School in Indiana.

The student, a female who allegedly identifies as a “transgender male,” was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and felony intimidation after one of her friends sent information to the FBI’s Sandy Hook tipline.
Bless the friend who did the hard thing, and thus prevented much worse.
The tipster stated that a friend was planning on carrying out a mass shooting and had access to an AR-15 rifle, according to police.
More from the Daily Wire:
After the tip came in, the FBI tracked down disturbing messages the student allegedly sent under the name “Jamie” on social media platforms Snapchat and Discord. The messages detailed plans for a mass shooting along with photos of a bulletproof vest and AR-15 rifles. In one of the messages, Jamie wrote that she had been planning the school shooting for a year.

According to investigators, the student spoke with a school counselor on Tuesday and disclosed that she was sexually attracted to the 19-year-old shooter who killed 17 people and wounded 17 more at Parkland High School in Florida in 2018.

In 2022, the student was hit by a suspected drunk driver while walking to the bus stop. The crash fractured her skull, broke her femur and arm, and caused two brain contusions, according to a report from WRTV. She allegedly told investigators that she was teased about the accident. “[She] found out later that the male who struck her with his vehicle, committed suicide. She felt like she killed him, but she knows she did not. She blamed herself for him killing himself,” the arrest affidavit states.

The student sought mental health help when she was a freshman, but a school official told police that her father did not allow her to continue receiving mental health assistance. Shortly after the student turned 18 last year, she signed herself up for mental health assistance.

Authorities executed a search warrant at her home, where she lives with her father. During their search, authorities said they found “a collage” on the wall of multiple mass shooters and found three notebooks belonging to the student.

“Each notebook depicted swastikas, the words ‘kill,’ ‘bang,’ ‘I hate you all DIE DIE DIE’ among other obscenities,” the arrest affidavit stated.

According to police, one of the student’s notebook entries — dated December 16, 2024 — stated, “My name is Dex I am eighteen years old. Born on October 26th 2006. I currently live with my father, my mother passed away. I am aslo [sic] a transgender male. I have a lot of homicidal thoughts.”

A January 9, 2025, entry read, “I am death, destroyer of worlds.” A few days later, the writer penned, “These thoughts wont stop. I want to hurt others. All of the time! I want to hurt others. I wish people around me knew about my bad thoughts. I love violence.”

The student is being held without bond at the Morgan County Jail, WTHR reported.

Government Corruption
Former Lead Recovery Consultants at Hagerty, Firm Hired by Bass, Pleaded Guilty to Stealing Disaster Funds
2025-02-11
[BREITBART] Two former disaster recovery experts at Hagerty Consulting, which L.A. Mayor Karen Bass appointed to lead rebuilding efforts after the recent wildfires, pleaded guilty in 2022 and 2023 to defrauding New York City of Hurricane Sandy relief funds.

Walter Melnick, who had been hired as a contractor for Evanston, Illinois-based Hagerty Consulting firm, was accused in 2022 of having claimed lodging reimbursements to which he was not entitled, and of making false statements to Sherlocks.

Melnick was described in a blurb by another firm as having ''managed New York City's post-Sandy $15 billion recovery program'' while at Hagerty. He has since evidently retired from the industry.

Another then-Hagerty consultant, Mark O'Mara, was accused of claiming more than $250,000 in reimbursements to which he was not entitled, and of trying to destroy evidence.

Both pleaded guilty after reaching plea agreements.

Melnick was sentenced to a year of home confinement, plus two additional years of probation. O'Mara was sentenced to probation. Both had to pay back the total money they had received unlawfully (over $380,000 and over $250,000, respectively).

A press statement by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in 2022 described the charges against Melnick:

Beginning in or about 2013, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the City of New York received billions of dollars in federal money to fund Hurricane Sandy-related recovery efforts. The City used certain of these funds to hire Company-1 [Hagerty] to assist with Hurricane Sandy relief (the ''Sandy Project''). Company-1 hired MELNICK as an independent contractor to work on the Sandy Project.

Wisconsin shooter's baby-faced accomplice breaks silence after being accused of plotting attack that killed two
2025-01-07
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The babyface California man accused of helping a Wisconsin teenager plan a school shooting that took the lives of a student and a teacher has broken his silence.
Helping or grooming?
Alexander Paffendorf appeared by video in a collared shirt and tie in court on Friday to face the consequences of his actions, without detailing his role in the Abundant Life Christian School shooting on December 16.

He said he was ready for a hearing on whether a restraining order confiscating his guns and ammunition should remain in place, and expressed remorse for his actions.
Sorry he did it or sorry he got caught despite his care to avoid social media and even being photographed?
Police have said Paffendorf admitted to federal agents that he had been messaging school shooter 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow about attacking a government building with a gun and explosives while she carried out the attack at the small Christian school.
It has been suggested that both Mr. Paffendorf and Ms Rupnow are Columbiners, inspired by the 1999 school massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado by two trench-coated social outcasts — she committed her crime wearing the same band t-shirt as one of the Columbine killers. Among others who claimed to want to copy the attack were Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho, Sandy Hook gunman Adam Lanza, and Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz.
Shortly afterwards, neighbors told CBS 8 they saw more than a dozen police cars enter the apartment complex where Paffendorf lives on Tuesday night and saw officers coming out of the building carrying what was described as a 'black gun box.'

Paffendorf has not been charged with any wrongdoing, but an attorney for the city of Carlsbad told Judge Devon Lomayesva that he was under criminal investigation.

A detective also told the judge the FBI is expected to conclude its investigation within two to three months - prompting Lomayesva to delay consideration on the restraining order. He explained that it was in Paffendorf's best interest to delay the hearing, as he is under criminal investigation but did not have an attorney present.

The ruling keeps the order to confiscate Paffendorf's weapons in effect through April 4, as police continue their investigation into the school shooting and Paffendorf's role.

Authorities have previously said Rupnow entered Abundant Life Christian School with two handguns - but only used one to carry out the attack, which took the lives of 14-year-old student Rubi Patricia Vergara and 42-year-old teacher Erin Michelle West.

Police then received a call at 10.57am, and officers arrived just seconds later.

By 11.05, officers found Rupnow wounded as they recovered her weapon.

She was later pronounced dead on the way to the hospital as fire department workers cared for at least six other victims, whose injuries ranged from minor to life-threatening.

A motive for the shooting still remains unclear, with police saying they do not know whether anyone was specifically targeted in the attack as some have suggested.
Unlike so many lately, she apparently was not trans, but clearly was mentally unbalanced over something that drove her to kill at the Christian high school.
Police, along with the FBI, are now scouring online records and other resources, as well as speaking with the shooter's parents and classmates in an attempt to determine a motive for the shooting.

Authorities were also seen raiding the Rupnows' Wisconsin home following the tragedy.

Investigators are trying to determine whether Rupnow's parents, Jeff and Melissa, had any involvement or contributed to Natalie's actions. Online court records show no criminal cases against her father, Jeffrey Rupnow, or her mother, Mellissa Rupnow. They are divorced and shared custody of their daughter, but she primarily lived with her father, according to court documents. Divorce records indicate that Rupnow was in therapy in 2022, but don't say why.

Elon Musk's X Corp. Files Notice in Alex Jones' Infowars Bankruptcy Case
2024-11-20
[Breitbart] Attorneys for Elon Musk’s X Corp. have filed a notice of appearance in Alex Jones’ Infowars bankruptcy case. Jones claimed that “The cavalry is here,” adding that “Trump is pissed.”

The judge overseeing the bankruptcy case said he is concerned with the process in which the satirical comedy site the Onion, backed by families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, won Jones’ platform at a bankruptcy auction. The judge cited transparency issues with the auction and is calling for a new hearing on the bidding procedure, according to a report by Bloomberg.

“I personally don’t care who wins the auction,” Judge M. Christopher Lopez said. “I care about process and transparency.”

The Southern District of Texas judge added that the forthcoming hearing will determine whether those who ran the Infowars auction conducted “a full and fair process.”

While bidders had to submit their highest and best offer for Jones’ platform, they did not have to share the value of their offers with rivals, Bloomberg noted. The judge argued that this means other potential buyers didn’t know what they were bidding against.

“Nobody should feel comfortable with the results of the auction,” Judge Lopez said.

Not Funny: The Onion Buys Infowars In Bankruptcy Auction
2024-11-14
[ZeroHedge] The leftist-satirical rag The Onion announced on Thursday that it had won a bankruptcy auction to acquire Infowars - the website founded and operated by Alex Jones since 1999.

On Wednesday, Jones said that the auction's trustee could choose any bidder it wanted - not necessarily the high bidder. Jones announced the sale on X Thursday morning.

"I just got word 15 minutes ago that my lawyers and folks met with the U.S. trustee over our bankruptcy this morning and they said they are shutting us down even without a court order this morning," he said. "The Connecticut democrats with The Onion newspaper bought us."

The Onion told the NY Times that the bid was sanctioned by the families of the victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, who won a $1.4 billion defamation lawsuit against Jones.

The Onion did not disclose the price it paid for Infowars and its assets, including Jones' production studio and supplement business.

Ben Collins, CEO of The Onion parent company, Global Tetrahedron, says he plans to relaunch Infowars in January as a parody of itself, mocking "weird internet personalities."

Why Veterans Really Hate Liz Cheney And Kamala Harris
2024-11-08
[THEFEDERALIST] The recent controversy regarding Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
's criticism of Liz Cheney as a warhawk who has never faced the dangers of the wars she embraces has synthesized an issue that may be opaque to non-veterans: the extreme resentment many veterans of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) feel toward Kamala Harris
former senatrix from California, 2020 Dem presidential hopeful and ultimately Joe Biden's intended successor
and the Democrat Party.

Harris and the Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
have created a perfect storm of veteran disdain in that they have succeeded in uniting three once-inapposite groups behind Harris: the neocons who started the GWOT, the media and Democrats who undermined the veterans' GWOT missions, and the generals who failed again and again and again at bringing the GWOT to a successful conclusion.

If you want to understand the prevailing veteran rage against Harris and love for Trump, you need to understand this unholy trinity that so many veterans loathe.

I'll start with the neocon ''chickenhawks.'' Maybe it's not fair to blame Liz Cheney for the GWOT as her father was its prime architect and not Liz herself, but she has come to serve as a symbol of the many advocates for useless, endless wars who never put their own lives (or the lives of their children) on the line, and who now support Kamala Harris. Liz Cheney stands as a symbol in this regard, and she stands for the many establishment Republicans who would rather support a radical Democrat than the only president in decades who did not start new wars.

These are neocons like Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Bill Kristol, and the infamous 200-plus Republican former staffers for George W. Bush, Willard Mitt Romney, aka Pierre Delecto
...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012, now Senator from Utah. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals. He is currently a trans Republican and a member in good standing of the Never Trump Party, attempting to assume the mantle of the late John McCain...
, and John Maverick McCain
... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump...
who helped design the GWOT. These are the people who put GWOT veterans into the cauldron that left them and so many of their friends dead, maimed, or bearing invisible scars that linger even today.

I served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. I was committed to our missions when I was there, and I know we did great good for so many citizens of those two countries. But in the end — given how those wars ended — I have to admit it was all for naught. Defeating al Qaeda and bin Laden in Afghanistan was the one mission that actually mattered, and the rest of what we did in those two wars was, sadly, a waste of time, money, and lives.

To have the architects of those useless, endless wars now turn on the one president who really cared about not squandering our lives feels like an injustice. Many of us stood by those neocons — even defended them in our private lives against slanderous lies — and now they turn on us by opposing the one man who vows that these sorts of wars will end. It is painful and feels like a betrayal.

The second leg of the unholy trinity is the Democrats and their media lackeys who helped us lose those wars — the same people those treacherous neocons have now allied themselves with.

Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) and the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
in Afghanistan both knew they could never defeat us in battle toe-to-toe. Our technology, our forces, our training, and our tactics were unbeatable. Instead, AQI and the Taliban adopted Ho Chi Minh's Vietnam war strategy: bleed the Americans dry so the folks back home would abandon the war effort. They knew that if they could turn the national will against our mission, America would quit.

They were right. Every IED attack was made not against the soldiers or Marines it killed or maimed, but against the folks back home watching CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
. The ''death counts'' on TV were the ultimate goal of our enemies.

When I returned from Iraq in 2004, I was shocked at how disconnected the news reports were from the reality on the ground, and I was shocked to see those same Democrats who sent us to war now suddenly turning against our mission. The daily march of Democrats with giant Dick Cheney puppet heads on the National Mall and the endless chants of ''Bush Lied, People Died'' served precisely the purpose AQI and the Taliban intended: to break the national will. To many of us returning vets, it felt that our own countrymen were giving aid and comfort to our enemy, helping them fulfill that enemy's strategic objective. This too felt like a betrayal.

The last leg of the trinity of veteran betrayal is the generals who could not win those same wars, retired from the military and went deep into the military-industrial complex, and now endorse Harris and demean Trump. These are generals like Stan McChrystal, who gave us such restrictive rules of engagement in Afghanistan that it cost the lives of so many troops. These are generals like John Kelly, whose counterinsurgency tactics solved so little in Al Anbar Province and who now libels the boss who fired him in The Atlantic magazine. These are generals like Michael Hayden, whose tenure at the National Security Agency did nothing to prevent 9/11, yet who found ways to use that tragic day as an excuse to spy on Americans.

These are the generals who led us in wars that they were not competent enough to win. Their leadership failed, no one was held to account, and now these same men stand proudly against the one president who would not tolerate those failures nor repeat them. This too feels like a betrayal.

Three groups, three betrayals. So many veterans feel like I do — not all, but many.

Authorities release first mugshots of alleged Georgia high school shooter
2024-09-06
[FoxNews liveblog] AUTHORITIES RELEASE MUGSHOT OF FATHER OF ALLEGED TEEN SHOOTER
Georgia authorities released a mugshot of the father of the teen who allegedly killed four people at a high school.

Colin Gray, 54, faces multiple charges over the alleged actions of his son, Colt Gray, 14, including four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.

On Thursday, authorities said the elder Gray knowingly allowed his son to possess a weapon.

He is being held at the Barrow County jail.

CHARGES AGAINST FATHER OF ALLEGED SCHOOL SHOOTER A NEW APPROACH TO CURBING SIMILAR INCIDENTS: LAWYER
The charges against the father of the suspected shooter accused of killing four people at a Georgia high is an example of a new approach by authorities to curb similar incidents, a legal expert told Fox News Digital.

Colin Gray, 54, has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children. On Thursday, authorities said the charges are connected to the possession of a weapon by Gray's son, Colt Gray, who allegedly killed two students and two teachers at Apalachee High School and wounded nine others.

“This was done by authorities in Michigan who successfully prosecuted the parents of a teen who killed four students using a firearm his parents purchased for him,” said David Gelman, a criminal defense attorney and former deputy district attorney.

Jennifer and James Crumbley were convicted in April of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced 10 years in prison after prosecutors said they kept an unsecured gun at home and showed indifference toward their son's mental health. Ethan Crumbley killed four students at a high school in 2021.

Colin Gray's case is different because he also faces murder charges, said Gelman.

“The charge of murder may be challenging to prove as this charge contemplates malice aforethought, as opposed to involuntary manslaughter which does not require a specific intention to cause death,” he said.

GEORGIA OFFICERS INTERVIEWED APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING SUSPECT IN 2023, COULD NOT SUBSTANTIATE
Jackson County, Georgia, officers in 2023 spoke face-to-face with the boy who is now charged with felony murder in the deaths of four at Apalachee High School in Winder on Wednesday.

The sheriff's officers described their interactions in a detailed investigation report from May 21, 2023, when suspect Colt Gray was 13 years old, after being tipped off by the FBI about a threat on the messaging app Discord of a threat to shoot up a middle school. Discord is popular with some video gamers.

Gray said he had previously deleted a Discord account and denied that he would make such a threat, "even in a joking manner," according to the report.

Gray's father, Colin, told the officers that he had hunting rifles in the house but that his son "does not have unfettered access to them." The two guns were both "locked away," the father told them. Authorities have said the shooting was carried out with an AR-style rifle.

Jackson County investigators could not substantiate the Discord threat, which came from a user profile that spelled Lanza in Russian, according to the report. Adam Lanza perpetrated the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012.

The officer also found that the information sent to the FBI was communicated via various IP addresses across the world: Palmdale, California; Los Angeles; and Cockburn, Australia.

He also reviewed the email address and phone number related to the case as well as the user profile linked to the threats.

AUTHORITIES RELEASE FIRST MUGSHOTS OF ALLEGED GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTER

APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING SUSPECT CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER AHEAD OF FIRST COURT APPEARANCE
Apalachee High School shooting suspect Colt Gray has been charged with multiple counts of felony murder ahead of his first court appearance Friday, officials say.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says "the autopsies of the four victims" who were killed in the Apalachee High School shooting "will be performed today at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office."

"The investigation into the shooting at Apalachee High School is still active and ongoing," it added. "This is day 2 of a very complex investigation and the integrity of the case is paramount. We ask for the public’s patience as we work to ensure a successful prosecution and justice for the victims."

Gray's court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.

FBI SAYS LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATED GA SHOOTER IN 2023, FOUND NO PROBABLE CAUSE
Local law enforcement officers with the sheriff's department conducted a deeper investigation and interviewed the father of the suspect, documented in a report that could not substantiate the threats.

During the investigation, the suspect "expressed concern that someone is accusing him of threatening to shoot up a school, stating that he would never say such a thing, even in a joking manner," according to a report from the interviews.

The officer investigating the anonymous tips found that the information sent to the FBI was communicated via various IP addresses across the world: Palmdale, California; Los Angeles, California; and Cockburn, Australia. He also reviewed the email address and phone number related to the case — as well as the user profile linked to the threats.

The profile name, written in Russian, referenced the perpetrator of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

"[The Apalachee suspect] stated he stopped using Discord because too many people kept hacking his account, and he was afraid someone would use his information for nefarious purposes," according to the report.

GEORGIA INVESTIGATORS SAY SUSPECTED SHOOTER'S PARENTS 'HAVE BEEN COOPERATIVE UP UNTIL THIS POINT'
A spokesperson for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation tells Fox News Digital that the parents of suspected Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray "have been cooperative up until this point."

The comment came in response to a question regarding whether authorities are investigating Gray's parents in the wake of Wednesday's attack, which left four dead and nine others injured.

California officials ticket the 'Bubble Pirate,' an artist and Navy veteran, for 'fluid littering'
2024-08-30
[FoxNews] A Navy veteran in California has been entertaining the local community with his creative bubble performances for over 10 years.
"entertaining" by taking over a public lawn
But Sandy Snakenberg, known as the "Bubble Pirate," was donning his pirate costume and performing his usual bubble show at La Jolla Cove in San Diego last week when he was issued a ticket by park officials, he told Fox News Digital.

The ticket alleges that Snakenberg, 63, violated San Diego’s municipal code against littering due to the fluid from his bubbles.

Snakenberg said in a phone interview that he asked the park ranger to note that the liquid was from bubbles, but the officer did not do so, he said.

The ticket mandates that Snakenberg appear in court in October.

Snakenberg told Fox News Digital he is a disabled Navy veteran who has traveled all over the world for a variety of jobs in his life.

He makes his living from his bubble artistry and entertainment, he said. The van with all of his equipment and props doubles as his home.
"homeless"
"I was becoming more involved with bubbles, more professionally, making my own juices, my own devices. I did a Ted talk while in Singapore," he said.

Lately, said Snakenberg, vendors and artists in the community have been getting "herded" into designated four feet-by-eight feet areas by officials.
That's the point. The vendors take up public sidewalks and block traffic. One rule for all
"They're making everybody fight for these four by eight spaces, which are limited," he said.

"They are not in locations the artists would have chosen for themselves. I choose my location for safety reasons, both environmental and public, because if my bubbles go flying off into the streets, so will the kids."

A City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital via email, "The City of San Diego values the rights of community members to engage in expressive activity in City parks, including artistic expression. This does require those engaging in these activities to do so in accordance with other City codes and regulations, including those related to littering and disposal of waste."

The spokesperson added, "In this instance, Park Rangers attempted to educate the individual numerous times that the residual substances from the bubbles are in violation of the City’s municipal code as it relates to littering (SDMC 63.0102(c)(8) Littering). The individual uses up to six gallons of liquid per day with the residual chemicals ending up in the lawn areas, which can cause damage to the grass."

"After witnessing numerous violations and receiving complaints from other park users, Rangers issued the lowest level citation available."

Belfast: Rioters throw petrol bombs at police in second night of disorder
2024-08-07
[SkyNews] Rioters have taken to Belfast's streets for a second night with footage showing petrol bombs and missiles being thrown at police.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) warned the public to stay away from certain areas of the city on Monday night as they dealt with public disorder and violence.

At least one police car was burned with several other fires blazing on Monday evening in the Sandy Row and Donegall Road areas in the southern part of Belfast.

Around a dozen people wearing balaclavas and masks threw petrol bombs at PSNI vehicles as riot officers formed lines.

Earlier, a planned anti-immigration protest at the Clayton Hotel failed to materialise.

Belfast was one of several cities that saw anti-immigration riots on Saturday.

Fireworks were thrown as police attempted to deal with a confrontation between anti-racist protesters and an anti-Islamic rally.

Bob Menendez to resign from Senate amid Democratic pressure after guilty verdict
2024-07-24
[FoxNews] Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., will resign from the Senate after significant pressure from Democrats to do so following a guilty verdict in his federal corruption case.

A resignation letter from the senator was entered into the congressional record on Tuesday by Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., who was acting as chair of the Senate.

Menendez informed Gov. Phil Murphy, D-N.J., that he would be resigning after Aug. 20 in the correspondence, which was obtained by Fox News.

"While I fully intend to appeal the jury's verdict, all the way and including to the Supreme Court, I do not want the Senate to be involved in a lengthy process that will detract from its important work," he wrote, likely in reference to a recently launched Ethics Committee review and potential efforts to expel him.

The New Jersey Democrat was found guilty on all 16 counts last week, which included charges of extortion, bribery, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, wire fraud, and acting as a foreign agent. The trial lasted nine weeks and the jury deliberated for three days before reaching a verdict.

The New Jersey senator has served in the chamber since 2006 and was re-elected twice. Before being a senator, Menendez served for several terms in the House of Representatives.

"I am proud of the many accomplishments I've had on behalf of New Jersey, such as leading the federal effort for Superstorm Sandy recovery, preserving and funding Gateway and leading the federal efforts to help save our hospitals, State and municipalities, as well as New Jersey families through a once in a century COVID pandemic," he said in the Tuesday letter. "These successes led you, Governor, to call me the ‘Indispensable Senator.’"

In 2015, Menendez was indicted on charges of conspiracy, bribery, and honest services fraud in relation to gifts from a wealthy ophthalmologist who the government alleged he was doing political favors for in return. However, a mistrial was declared in 2017 when jurors could not agree on a verdict. By 2018, prosecutors said they would not seek to retry the senator.

Round-up: Trump shooter used a DRONE to scope out rally grounds just HOURS before ex-president's speech
2024-07-20
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] It has been revealed that the gunman who attempted to assassinate Trump at a Pennsylvania rally last week flew a drone over the site just hours before the shooting.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was able to navigate the drone over the western Pennsylvania fairgrounds and obtain aerial footage on July 13 - the same day as Trump's Butler rally.

Crooks allegedly flew the drone on a programmed flight path earlier in the day, and officials say that the predetermined path suggests Crooks had flown the small aircraft more than once in order to scope out the site of the rally.

The shocking revelation was made on Friday - almost a week after the ill-fated campaign event - by law-enforcement officials, according to the Wall Street Journal.

It was yet another example of how the Secret Service failed to do an adequate job of securing the area, leaving the MAGA crowd and the former president exposed to the subsequent dangerous situation.

Trump sustained a wound on his ear from a gunshot graze and one spectator was killed when at least six rounds of ammunition were fired by the assassin.

Crooks was killed following the shooting after a Secret Service sniper team returned fire.
More from the Daily Mail:
Would-be Donald Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks looked up pornography not long before he shot at the former president. The search was the last one Crooks, 20, made on his phone before wounding Trump as he spoke at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last Saturday. Other queries included Princess Kate as well as her fellow British royals, both Trump and President Joe Biden, and school shooter Ethan Crumbley.

FBI investigators discovered the search history after finally cracking his encrypted Samsung Android phone days after the assassination attempt.

The senior law enforcement source who told the Daily Beast about the porn search said it was 'not unusual' among high-profile killers. Sandy Hook elementary school mass shooter Adam Lanza had child abuse images on his phone and Al Qaeda terrorists also watched extreme porn.

Agents couldn't initially break into Crooks' phone and sent it to the Operational Technology Division at FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia.

The only other recent activity on his phone was texts from his parents asking where he was after he didn't come home from the gun range when they expected.

Investigators have moved on to his laptop and external hard drives found during a search of his parents' home, where he lived.

As the FBI searched his two cell phones and one laptop, they found he had searched for dates of Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he ultimately made his assassination attempt. There were also searches for the dates of the Democratic National Convention, investigators told a private briefing with lawmakers. They also found photos of Biden and Trump in Crooks’ material.

FBI officials in the briefing said that that Crooks' search history indicated he had a strong interest in famous people, sources on the call confirmed to DailyMail.com.
An earlier Daily Mail article:
Alongside the explosives in Crooks' car, investigators also recovered a bullet proof vest and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, which had been purchased, alongside a ladder, on the same day as the shooting.

Another bulletproof vest, and third remote-controlled bomb was later discovered at the house he shared with his parents.

The latest revelation that a transmitter was also with him has raised fears that Crooks may have been planning to continue his killing spree if he had escaped from the roof with his life, and may have had an accomplice to help him.

Hours earlier Crooks had asked his boss for the day off, telling him he had 'something to do', before travelling to Saturday's rally. The would-be assassin told colleagues at the Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center that he would see them on Sunday. Crooks worked there as a dietary aide providing food and care for post-hospital elderly and sick people.

'We are shocked and saddened to learn of his involvement as Thomas Matthew Crooks performed his job without concern and his background check was clean,' administrator Marcie Grimm said in a statement.

A colleague at the facility said Crooks never expressed political views at work and wasn't a 'radical'.

'It's hard seeing everything that's going on online because he was a really, really good person that did a really bad thing, and I just wish I knew why,' he added.

He graduated from the Community College of Allegheny County in May with an associate degree in engineering science, according to school officials who said they were 'shocked and saddened by the horrific turn of events'.

Crooks' father Matthew was seen on Tuesday morning for the first time since the shooting as he opened the door of the family home to FBI agents. Both of Crooks' parents are behavioral therapists and Crooks' father said he was baffled by his son's actions.
And the Daily Mail report that he sure looked mentally ill with something:
Grinning out from beneath a military helmet, dressed in combat gear and a bullet proof vest this never-before-seen photograph shows Thomas Matthew Crooks aged nine.

Today, through a trove of pictures and the accounts of family friends, Dailymail.com can give the first real glimpse into the childhood of the boy who would grow up to try to kill a president. He went from the 'normal little boy' who liked to play soldiers and miniature golf, to the increasingly disturbed young man who grew his hair long, isolated himself from friends and became plagued by mental health disturbances that led some to believe he was either bi-polar or schizophrenic.
There it is. Nuts, not Antifa. So a Lurid Crime on Page 3: Non-WoT, not Fifth Column on Page 1.
It was a journey that ended catastrophically at Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday when Crooks, 20, took aim at the former president hitting him in the ear, killing one member of the crowd and seriously injuring two others.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, one person who knows the family well said, 'He was a cute kid, maybe a little bit off, maybe a little bit of a loner.

'But in the past couple of years he started suffering what we all suspected was mental health issues.'

The friend, who has known the family throughout Crooks's childhood, continued, 'We never knew for sure if he had been diagnosed or if he was being medicated but he started growing his hair long, he withdrew.

'There was nothing super alarming but looking back of course you question what was missed? His father was a psychologist.

'I'm not blaming the parents but did he suppress something? Was there some denial there? Was there anything hidden?'

Crooks, known as Tom to his family, grew up in the Bethel Park suburb where his family still live with his parents and older sister, Katherine, 22.

He attended Abraham Lincoln Elementary School from 2009 to 2014, before moving on to Neil Armstrong Middle School 2015 to 2016, then Independence Middle School 2017 to 2018, and ultimately Bethel Park High School from which he graduated in 2022. Seen in pictures across the years it is impossible to look at the face of the little boy who poses in yearbook picture after yearbook picture in his polo shirt and glasses without straining to see some foreshadowing of the change that, friends say, overtook him in the end.

In one, under the banner of 'Follow your Dreams' he is dressed in combat gear, the innocent costume of so many little boys now cast in a more sinister light by the act he would ultimately commit. But as a child, he was, friends say, if not exactly outgoing then certainly apparently 'normal.'

One said, 'He was definitely very intelligent that's something that was always clear. He was in the math club; I think that was the only club he was part of other than the gun club later, and he won quite a big scholarship for math.'

In pictures taken in elementary school he moves from the middle to the edges of the frame. In early photographs he is surrounded by friends, on costume days or mini-golf outings. Later he is at the edge, peaking round a bandstand pillar or kneeling at the end of a line with a basketball and his peers.

Contrary to what one 'friend' has publicly claimed in recent days those who spoke with DailyMail.com insist he did not dress in hunting or camouflage gear but instead was always smartly turned out in a polo shirt and pants or shorts.

A source said, 'He was always smartly dressed. He came from a good family — his mother is a very nice woman, and his father is actually very accomplished. I believe at one point he was earning between $300,000 and $500,000 a year.'

Today the modest family home, a small brick bungalow in a quiet suburban neighborhood sits under the watchful eyes of law enforcement and the world media. It gives little indication of its owners having any significant wealth.

On Monday FBI agents visited the home, speaking with Crooks's parents Matthew, 53, and Mary, 53, — both Pennsylvanian locals and both licensed counsellors — for several minutes before fanning out and moving door to door across the neighborhood.

It was here that Crooks grew up, and joined Clairton Sportsmen's Club where he honed his rifle skills. Speaking Monday, one friend pointed out: 'That club is also very much a social club as well as a shooting range.' But the friend admitted that one thing Crooks was not, was terribly social especially in later years.

They said: 'I suspect the FBI have interrogated his parents very thoroughly to find out what if anything they knew about his state of mind.

'We're just struggling to understand what happened, it's so shocking. This is a community and for this to have happened within it...it's almost too much to process right now. It's going to take a long time.'

Certainly, they said, something shifted in Crooks in recent years. He appears with a smile in every school yearbook until 2020, his sophomore year and the start of the global pandemic. After that he is absent, failing to show up for his yearbook photograph and a ghost in every group shot. According to the friend, 'Honestly we knew him less and less the older he got.'

But it seems he was nothing if not calculated and methodical. On Friday he went to Clairton Sportsmen's Club shooting range and practiced firing.
That’s unfortunately common in paranoid schizophrenics bent on murder, as I understand it.
The next morning, he went to a Home Depot and purchased a five-foot ladder — pictures obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com show the concealed spot where he propped this ladder against the AGR building wall allowing him access to the roof across which he scrambled to take up position.

From the Home Depot he went to a gun store, which sources have identified to DailyMail.com as Allegheny Arms & Gun Works, a five-minute drive from his family home, where he purchased 50 rounds of ammunition.
The Daily Mail also reported that he had accounts on Steam and several encrypted platforms.
Donald Trump's would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks wrote an ominous warning on a gaming platform before he shot the former president.

DailyMail.com confirmed U.S. Senators were told the 20-year-old gunman posted on Steam: 'July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.'

On July 13 he opened fire on the Republican nominee from a roof just 130 yards away from the rally stage in Butler, Pennsylvania.
