Trump inaugurated; Progs rush northern border
2025-01-21
[Reprinted from the Toronto Star] The flood of "Trump-fearing" American liberals/progressives sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week. The Republican presidential win is prompting an exodus among left-leaning Americans who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, pay taxes, and live according to the Constitution. Canadian border residents say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, global-warming activists, and "green" energy proponents crossing their fields at night.

"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. "He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh reruns across the fields, but they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept coming Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals just south of the border, pack them into electric cars, and drive them across the border, where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies. "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Alberta border patrolman said "I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier water, or any gemelli with shrimp
and arugula. All they had was a nice little Napa Valley Cabernet and some kale chips. When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing that they fear persecution from Trump high hailers.

Rumors are circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer, study the Constitution, and find jobs that actually contribute to the economy.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, are buying up all the Barbara Streisand CD's, and are overloading the internet while downloading jazzercise apps to their cell phones. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "After all, how many art-history majors does one country need?"

A Virginia man was convicted of terrorism offenses and sentenced to 25 years in prison after taking inspiration from the @SPLCenter in 2012 by using their target map list to attempt a mass shooting in D.C.

An @splcenter staff attorney was arrested & charged with domestic terrorism in Atlanta over his alleged role in a violent ambush attack on law enforcement on March 5. In 2012, leftist Floyd Lee Corkins (pictured) carried out an attempted mass shooting of Christian lobbying group @FRCdc in DC. He was thwarted after shooting a security guard. He told investigators he wanted to kill as many as possible & that he used the SPLC's hate watch list to pick his target. He was convicting of terrorism & other felonies & sentenced to 25 years in prison.
AKA Floyd Corkins II of Herndon, Va., he arrived at the downtown Washington, DC office of the Family Research Council on Aug. 15, 2012 carrying a brand new semiautomatic handgun, two loaded clips, a short list of organizations listed by the SPLC as socially conservative, and a bag containing 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. He planned a massacre, but actually only got off three shots, winging a security guard before he was wrestled to the ground and arrested. It was reported at the time that Mr. Corkins volunteered The DC Center for the LGBT Community, which is suggestive. The Justice Dept. press release following his conviction has more.

Courtesy of Skidmark, Fox News adds:
The left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center reportedly laid off more than 60 employees late Wednesday, leading at least one member of its union to assail the Montgomery, Alabama.-based organization on X, formerly Twitter.

The organization has long been known for its cataloging of purported "hate groups" and "enabler" groups or individuals, including several evangelical and Catholic entities, conservative members of Congress and the late radio icon Rush Limbaugh – all of which are sprinkled among its monitoring of groups more widely considered racist or misogynist such as the Ku Klux Klan and Proud Boys.

Several of the reported layoffs affected top officials in the organization's union, which was reportedly organized in 2019 to fight "inequitable" practices at the organization.

"Today, SPLC – my employer – laid off over 60 of our union members, essentially shuttering multiple departments," Hannah Gais wrote on X.

"Speaking in a personal capacity, I endorse each and every single word of this statement from our union. [A]n organization with this much money has no excuse," she added.

The referenced union statement, also posted to X, said more than 60 union members, including its chairperson and five stewards, were informed their jobs would be cut.

"We are devastated for our union and for our colleagues," the union said. In another tweet, the union said SPLC has nearly $1 billion in reserves and is facing allegations of "hoarding" donations while "gutting its staff by a quarter."

Fox News Digital reached out to SPLC for comment on the layoffs and allegations of donation hoarding via multiple avenues but did not immediately receive a response. A person who picked up the phone at the organization directed Fox News Digital to an extension that eventually went to voicemail.

In a statement to the Alabama Reflector, the group said it would be taking actions to streamline its activities and operations in order to better advance its cause.

"We announced internally the consolidation of certain programs and activities as well as the elimination of others, resulting in staff reductions," the press team wrote.

"This was a difficult but necessary decision to focus and align our work with our programmatic priorities and goals. We deeply value the contributions of all our staff and their commitment to ensuring the promise of equal justice is a reality for all," the group told the outlet.

The Reflector reported the group said the move would allow Deep South communities to be better served.

The group has long faced a history of discrimination allegations while simultaneously claiming to be a "catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond."

In the 1980s, the group won several civil suits on behalf of KKK victims. The organization was originally founded in 1971.

In 2022, in response to allegations by union members of an "inequitable" post-COVID reopening plan at its offices, SPLC President and CEO Margaret Huang tallied 400 employees at the time, and said less than 10% held positions that required them to be in the office.

The SPLC also notably had to apologize after labeling neurosurgeon and former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson as an "extremist."

Remembering The Truth Teller from Cape Giradeau
2024-02-18
[PJ] On this day in 2021, America lost a great man: the "Mayor of Realville" and "America’s Anchorman," the great Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh was more than a radio announcer or show host. He was a unique American genius, a patriot who inspired millions. From his one-line zingers — "For government to give, it must first take away" — to his thoughtful monologues, Rush was incomparable. He created a new generation of conservatives and set the gold standard for conservative talk media. Yet, despite his massive fame and popularity, there was nothing elitist or unapproachable about Rush; many of his listeners, including those who never met him, thought of him as their friend.

The college dropout turned radio and TV sensation, the show host honored by presidents and intellectual giants, the "All-Seeing, All-Knowing, All-Everything Maha Rushie," who took on the left "with half my brain tied behind my back to make it fair." America tuned in daily to hear his jokes, his critiques, his political observations, his predictions and analyses. As he put it, he had "talent on loan from God."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams Eight Republicans for Joining Democrats in Killing Her Articles of Impeachment Against Mayorkas (VIDEO)
2023-11-14
[Gateway] In a recent development, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed strong criticism towards eight Republican colleagues for siding with Democrats in the House of Representatives.

This contentious moment arose during the vote on Greene’s resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.

The resolution was ultimately diverted from a direct vote to the Homeland Security Committee, effectively stalling the impeachment process.

This move, proposed by Minority Whip Katherine Clark, was supported by eight Republicans, prompting fierce criticism from Rep. Greene.

Among the Republicans who voted with the Democrats were:

  • Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)
  • Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)
  • Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA)
  • Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
  • Rep. John Duarte (R-CA)
  • Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
  • Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-OR)
  • Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH)

In the aftermath of the vote, Congresswoman Greene lashed out in a vehement response, expressing disbelief at her colleagues’ decision to redirect the impeachment process back to committee, a move which will result in the death of the resolution.

More than Anti-Semitism: We are All Targeted
    2023-11-01
[AmericanThinker] The wave of alleged "pro-Palestinian" demonstrations whose slogans embrace the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist group are routinely denounced as anti-Semitism. Certainly, the brutality of the attacks by Hamas on October 7, which were directed at civilians including the beheading of babies, expressed genocidal hatred. And chants by misnamed "antiwar" protesters on college campuses and in the streets to "gas the Jews" and wipe Israel off the map "from the river to the sea" are also genocidal threats. But what has triggered these actions is more complex than anti-Semitism and broader in ambition.

The Department of State has a section on its website dedicated to defining anti-Semitism and presenting examples. One of the most common is "Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations." This leads to defining Jews are being "them" rather than "us" and justifying actions against them as aliens. Closely related is "the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions." So, they are hostile aliens. There are clearly elements of both in the current protests and in the ideologies that have generated the protests. This is true, sadly, even in some mainstream venues such as "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" by professors Stephen Walt (Harvard University) and John J. Mearsheimer (University of Chicago). This accusation is made to advance the authors’ campaign for an isolationist foreign policy which they see the alleged Israeli lobby as thwarting by keeping us engaged in foreign wars. There is a long dark history behind this argument.

    J. A. Hobson in his seminal 1902 book Imperialism: A Study alleged that Jewish bankers were behind Western expansion across the world and were the only ones who gained by war because they financed what came to be called the "military-industrial complex." As late as 1938, when Nazi Germany was conducting its pogrom leading to the Holocaust, Hobson’s new edition still accused "men of a singular and peculiar race" of being the main element of "the central ganglion of international capitalism." Like Walt and Mearsheimer, Hobson was using the defamation of Jews as a means to an end, in his case the overthrow of capitalism. And it is this tactic that expands anti-Semitism into a threat that menaces all of us. It assails the modern world created by the vigorous and innovative economic system of capitalism, bounded and guided by the values and energy of western civilization. If Jews were once attacked for being outside society, they are now being attacked for being the vanguard of society. And in the Middle East, Israel is called a "Crusader State" established as an outpost of the West.

Student activists and the faculty members who have filled their heads with this mush (to use Rush Limbaugh’s polite term for what we really know originates from where the sun don’t shine) have no direct interest in the Israeli-Hamas (Iranian) conflict. So why would they choose against Israel, a democratic society with liberal values allied with the country within which they live? Is it pure ignorance, like the Harvard group "Queers for Palestine" which does not seem to realize that under Palestinian law, being homosexual is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and in Hamas-ruled Gaza, by death? Or has Israel simply been assigned a role in a larger ideological drama: the domestic war against western values and success?

The success of the West in creating the modern world, first in Europe and then by extension, pollination, and imitation around the globe, is undeniable. The original Marxist notion that it would become unbearable for the vast majority of exploited workers has proven to be nonsense as living standards have risen to heights undreamed up before the wave after wave of Industrial Revolutions. The leftist vision of despair has manifested itself far more often in areas that tried to substitute intellectual theory for this real-world experience. The evolution of China is the most spectacular case of a land with a rich heritage being driven into the ground by the Marxist radicalism of Mao Zedong. Yet, despite its brutality, Julia Lovell has shown how "Maoism" was held in high regard by leftists everywhere, including in American universities. Post-Mao reformers adopted a form of state capitalism which generated rapid growth in national capacity and personal wealth even if it adopted only part of the Western model.

...The intellectual attack is no longer based on claiming they could do better. It is now based on claiming our success is immoral, the result of slavery at home and imperialism overseas; and with the sin of climate change recently added to the list. The charge that Israel is a "settler colony" is the tip of the iceberg in this campaign as the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other affluent remnants of empire also fit this description.
They think they can use Islam. That's on par with "Queers for Palestine".

[PJ Media] Friends of Slain Brooklyn Activist Create GoFundMe Page—for Themselves

Claudia Morales watched as Brian Dowling “randomly” stabbed her lefty activist boyfriend, Ryan Carson, to death in the neo-hipster, ghetto-riffic Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Carson left a legacy of Marxist hate on social media, even celebrating the death of Rush Limbaugh. His moll, Morales, has been photographed wearing an “ACAB” t-shirt (ACAB is an anagram for All Cops Are B**tards).

Though Morales didn’t run, scream, or call the police as her boyfriend was getting filleted, a group of his friends was quick to set up a GoFundMe page to procure funds for… themselves.

According to the internet tip-cup page, Ryan’s friends are asking people to donate $20,000 so Morales and other friends can take time off to grieve. As of this writing, they’ve wrangled $71,330.

A since-deleted post from a donor read something along the lines of, “I will happily pay the $5 minimum donation to say you’re disgusting for profiting off the death of your boyfriend.”

Soros takeover: Outrage as Miami's anti-communism Radio Mambi could be controlled by Obama, Clinton staffers
    2022-07-06
    From June 14th.
[FoxNews] Miami’s iconic, Spanish-language conservative talk radio station Radio Mambi could soon be controlled by political strategists who worked for President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. The pending sale to a George Soros-linked group has caused outrage inside the station, throughout Miami’s Cuban-American community and among conservative media watchdogs.

Radio Mambi, which is historically linked to the Cuban exile community and offers an anti-communism view, would be controlled by a group of liberals partially funded by Soros, a far-left billionaire, if the $60 million deal is approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Media Research Center director of MRC Latino Jorge Bonilla blasted the move as a power grab by the left.

"This is about power, this is about control. This is not about free speech. This is not about this misinformation. This is about controlling the flow of information to a specific community for political purposes, and that is what makes this deal, I think, so controversial," Bonilla told Fox News Digital.

Bonilla believes the looming takeover has a specific, strategic purpose as influential liberals are set to control Miami's "mainstay of the right" in addition to Spanish-language stations in other major markets, including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Antonio.

The formation of the Latino Media Network, a new network set to be made up of 18 Hispanic radio stations including Radio Mambi, was partially financed by Lakestar Finance, an investment group affiliated with Soros Fund Management. The stations, currently owned by Univision, would be controlled by Jess Morales Rocketto, a former Hillary for America and AFL-CIO employee, and Stephanie Valencia, a former Obama White House staffer, if the venture receives FCC approval.

Bonilla believes it’s an "unprecedented" situation, and he had a hard time coming up with a comparison until conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh came to mind.

"I guess the closest equivalent would be to imagine Rush Limbaugh's affiliate in New York City. His flagship in New York City at the height of when he first came out and made a ruckus in the '90s," Bonilla said. "Imagine a Clintonite group coming in and buying that station out and basically setting up [former left-wing radio network] Air America in its place and knocking Rush Limbaugh off the air."

Bonilla learned of an all-hands meeting last Thursday in which Valencia traveled to Miami to help ease tensions inside the station. Fox News Digital has confirmed the meeting took place, and that Valencia was accompanied by Cuban-born, anti-Trump conservative Al Cardenas in an attempt to calm panicked staffers. Cardenas is married to liberal CNN political commentator Ana Navarro, who remains a Republican but worked in Florida to elect Joe Biden in 2020 and openly supports Democrats.

During the meeting, the former Obama aide claimed "nothing will change" at Radio Mambi, but employees don’t buy it.

"Nobody believes her," a Radio Mambi insider who attended the meeting told Fox News Digital. "Honestly, they really believe we are stupid."

Bonilla feels that liberals controlling Radio Mambi would be a significant factor in the 2024 presidential election, as the Hispanic community doesn’t have many well-established conservative media options. Florida's shift to the right in the past two presidential elections has mirrored an increase in Latino support for Republicans – former President Trump comfortably carried Florida in 2020 over Biden, in part by making major gains in Miami-Dade County with increased support from Cuban-Americans.

"So Miami, because of its ecosystem, where it's a city populated on the Hispanic side, mostly by victims of communism and their descendants, that makes Miami and that Miami market very unique in the nation," Bonilla said. "I think that this is an effort to sort of consolidate control of the message Hispanics receive."

The Soros-backed group would take control of the station in 2023 if the FCC approves the deal.

Atbashian's Shakedown Socialism: Unions, Pitchforks, Collective Greed, The Fallacy of Economic Equality, and other Optical Illusions of ‘Redistributive Justice’
    2022-06-27
[Oleg Atbashian] This is a brilliant study, profusely illustrated with cartoons and propaganda posters. Atbashian explains why Socialism cannot work. He exposes the injustice of "Collective Greed" and shows why Economic Equality is a fraud. The book is an eye-opener as the author illustrates his points with examples drawn from his life in the Soviet Union before 1994 and more recent events in the USA.

"Oleg Atbashian has written a timely warning for Americans about the collectivists among us and their plans for the future. I hope everyone reads this book."
-- David Horowitz, Author of One Party Classroom (2009)

"In his brilliant, witty, and wonderfully illustrated Shakedown Socialism, Oleg Atbashian -- who grew up in the Soviet Union, shows what is happening in Obama's America today, and explains why it is putting us on the road to ruin. Shakedown Socialism is an enlightening, sobering, and wonderfully clear explanation of why statism kills -- and thus also of why and how Barack Obama is killing the American economy. This book shows why Obama's statist economic policies are a looming disaster for America and for the spirit of the free human individual."
-- Pamela Geller, author, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War On America

"Brightly written and filled with entertaining and illuminating illustrations, Oleg Atbashian's Shakedown Socialism is a clear and eye-opening guide to exactly what is wrong with socialism and state control of the means of production, and how it kills both the economy and human initiative. Shakedown Socialism is an essential and inspiring guide to the virtues of the free market."

    About the author:
Oleg Atbashian is an American writer and graphic artist. He was born in June, 1960, in Cherkassy, Ukraine, which was then part of the totalitarian Soviet Union. His writings present a view of America and the world through the prism of his Soviet experience. He is the author of Shakedown Socialism and the creator of a satirical website, ThePeoplesCube.com, which Rush Limbaugh described on his show as "a Stalinist version of The Onion." His essays and satires have been translated into many languages and his graphics reproduced in various publications around the world.

Raised in a communist dictatorship, he grew up believing in Marxism and in the communist future. From 1983 to 1986 he worked as a propaganda artist, creating visual agitprop for the local Party committee in a Siberian town. Observing the hypocrisy and corruption of the socialist system, however, he gradually reexamined his Marxist upbringing. Having returned to Ukraine in 1986, he joined the opposition movement, lending his apartment to dissident gatherings and collecting signatures in defense of Soviet dissidents.

His first Russian-language short stories were published in Moscow in 1990. Around the same time his translations of contemporary Russian, Ukrainian, and American poetry were published in the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine. He also wrote articles in Russian and Ukrainian for several newspapers. He now writes exclusively in English.

Atbashian emigrated to the United States in 1994 and settled in New York City, hoping to forget about politics and raise his three children in a country governed by reason and the rule of law. Working across the street from the World Trade Center, he witnessed the 9/11 attacks from a block away. That shocking experience was soon followed by his disenchantment with the American cultural establishment that almost uniformly blamed America for the attacks and used painfully familiar Marxist concepts of "anti-colonialism" and "class struggle." That prompted him to start speaking against the leftist ideology that permeated the American political scene.

Atbashian describes his political views as classical liberalism, with the emphasis on individual freedoms, free market capitalism, and international peace based on free trade.

In 2011 he moved from New York to Florida, where he now resides in the Tampa Bay area.

Elections Have Consequences: Cop resigns over vaccine mandate, Bongino threatens same, some employers accept proof of natural immunity
    2021-10-20
[InfoWars] Video has emerged of another veteran police officer signing off after being forced to resign for refusing to go along with Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates.

The footage shows a Washington State Patrol officer of 17 years, referred to only as officer “110”, wiping away tears as he radios in a final goodbye.

The Seargent boldly states “Due to my personal choice to take a moral stand for medical freedom and personal choice, I will be signing out of service for the last time today.”

In a touching aside, the dispatcher on the other end of the radio replies “I’m honored to have been your dispatcher, but mostly proud to be your wife.”

Dan Bongino Stands Up to Vaccine Mandates, Gives Ultimatum to His Radio Network

[Townhall] Thousands of people in industries across the country are losing their jobs over vaccine mandates. In some cases, employee protests have paid off and employers have relented, giving testing options rather than following through on draconian ‘no jab, no job’ policies. Now, Dan Bongino is taking a stand at Cumulus Media.

In late May, the massively influential radio network Westwood One debuted a new daily talk show from Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and New York City cop who gained stature in conservative media during the presidency of Donald Trump. The show occupies the noon-3 p.m. time slot once dominated by Rush Limbaugh, setting Bongino up as one of the key challengers for his audience.

Within two months, the show had reached distribution on more than 300 stations, which the company described as “impressive growth.”

Now, Bongino is threatening to walk away completely. He has taken issue with a vaccination mandate imposed in August by Westwood One’s owner, Cumulus Media. (WaPo)

The company gave employees until Sept. 27 to be fully vaccinated and a number of radio hosts at the have been fired or quit for not wanting to get the jab for personal or medical reasons. Bongino, who is fully vaccinated, is taking a stand in solidarity with them.

“I’m not really happy with the company I work with right here,” Bongino said on his program Monday. “I believe these vaccine mandates are unethical. I believe they’re immoral. I believe they don’t take into account the science of natural immunity due to a prior infection. I believe they’re broad-based and don’t take into account an individual circumstances of why they may or may not want to take a vaccine. And they’re antithetical to everything I believe in.”

Bongino promised to not let the issue go.

"Cumulus is going to have to make a decision with me — if they want to continue this partnership or they don’t. But I’m talking to you on their airwaves," he continued. "They don’t have to let that happen. And I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t. Because it’s really unfortunate that people with a lower profile than me, who don’t have 300-plus stations, have been summarily either shown the door or been put in really untenable circumstances because they simply want to make a medical decision by themselves.”

He then gave the company an ultimatum.

“You can have me, or you can have a vaccine mandate, but you can’t have both,” Bongino said. “I grew up without a lot of money. … I’m not leaving those guys behind.”

How I Murdered The Weekly Standard
    2021-08-21
    By Emerald Robinson

[EmeraldDB3Substack] Three years ago, I wrote an essay on “The Collapse of the Never Trumpers" that caused quite a stir. Rush Limbaugh talked about it on his radio show, while Nigel Farage congratulated me in the halls of Parliament. Hundreds of people wrote me "thank you" notes. The haughty Never Trumpers, not so much. My modest proposal was that the 3% of Republicans who never approved of President Trump should stop pretending that they were spokesmen for the 97% of Republicans who did. In the corporate media, where 97% of that 3% were keeping a high profile on cable news, the distortions became preposterous. This seemed to me elementary logic. But for the tiny group of delusional Never Trumpers, my modest proposal fell on them like a ton of bricks.

In the end, my essay ignited a kind of public war among conservative intellectuals that helped to bring down the neocons and the Never Trumpers in the media. Not only did the Weekly Standard shut down, but the National Review kicked out Jonah Goldberg, and the neocon's peewee prince Bill Kristol went to work for Democrats - all in six months. How did that happen? They had no base of support outside of the Beltway, and they were in willful denial about their own unpopularity. This dynamic was obvious at all levels of media, but let's take a high visibility example: the old panel at Fox New's Special Report with Bret Baier. Now, Bret Baier is obviously a very quiet Never Trumper but if you stacked your daily panel with Stephen Hayes, A. B. Stoddard, and Jonah Goldberg and these were the “conservative” pundits you picked to defend President Trump's policies then it's obvious what Bret was doing.

A week or so after my essay appeared, I got a very short and shrill phone call from one of Bret's staffers - who was a rabid Hillary Clinton supporter, no less. When I picked up the call, she was angry and breathless and did not want to do small talk. She said: "You don't know what you've done, you don't understand the damage you've caused to this show." I asked her to calm down, and be specific. She hung up instead.

North Carolina's lieutenant governor details America's success story and work ethic
    2021-06-15
[FOXNEWS] Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina emphasized the importance of the American work ethic and his success story Saturday night on "Unfiltered with Dan Bongino."

Robinson is the first African American to hold the office of lieutenant governor in the state and caught the public's eye at a Greensboro City Council meeting, when he defended the Second Amendment.

Fox News host Dan Bongino asked Robinson what politically motivated him.

"Well, what honestly pushed me into it was something that someone said to me at work about 'talk.' They said talk's not going to do anything," Robinson said.

"I said, there's nothing you can do about it. You can go down there and talk, but that's not going to get anything done. And I reminded that person that, you know, the revolution in this country didn't start with the ’shot heard round the world' - it started with ’talk.’ Friends and neighbors talking to each other about ideas like independence and liberty and freedom and establishing our own nation. And so it starts with a conversation" said Robinson.

Robinson spoke at the North Carolina Republican Party State Convention last Friday where he discussed topics such as child sacrifice abortion, race, and the American work ethic.

Bongino noted that the Republican party doesn't have a "message problem," but rather a "messaging problem."

"Lower taxes, health care, freedom, school choice. These are all popular things when people hear about them," Bongino said.

The Fox News host continued to note that Robinson's speech to the North Carolina Republican Party State Convention addressed the dignity of work, and that "nothing in Republican messaging ... addresses that."

"One of the things in this nation, apart from any other nation, is the American work ethic," Robinson said.

Robinson noted that for decades, people have denigrated the American work ethic, saying "we see a strong vein of that happening right now from our federal government where we are actually paying people not to go to work, which is ridiculous."
