Nellie Ohr, Justice Department official's wife, perjured herself with ‘demonstrably false' Trump-Russia testimony: bombshell FBI records |
2025-05-29 |
![]() The wife of a former Justice Department official gave “demonstrably false” testimony to Congress about her involvement in drafting and disseminating since-debunked dossiers about Donald Trump’s purported collusion with Russia in 2016, according to a bombshell trove of internal FBI records released Wednesday by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). Nellie Ohr worked for research firm Fusion GPS when it was hired in the lead-up to the 2016 election to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign’s alleged links to Russian organized crime — but later told a House panel she did not know about the DOJ’s parallel investigation into the matter. Evidence assembled by the FBI indicates that Ohr helped compile two dossiers — including the notorious file pushed by former MI6 agent Christopher Steele — that helped launch the bureau’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation. The Fusion GPS research repeated errors or included information similar to that discovered later in the Steele dossier. Ohr also sent emails — some of which she later deleted — directly to DOJ prosecutors, not all of whom she admitted to interacting with in subsequent congressional testimony. Ohr’s husband Bruce, then a deputy associate attorney general, received more emails as well as a thumb drive from Nellie containing Fusion GPS research that was passed on to the FBI. The couple personally met Steele at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington on July 30, 2016, and discussed allegations — later relayed to the bureau — that Trump campaign aide Carter Page had met with Russian officials and that Kremlin intelligence had the Republican candidate “over a barrel.” While the Ohrs invoked spousal privilege before Congress on the question of whether they discussed the Trump-Russia probe, the declassified FBI files put out by Grassley reveal the bureau determined there was “little distinction” between the couple’s professional and personal lives. “There is probable cause to believe that Bruce and Nellie did communicate with each other about their respective activity in furtherance of the Russia-collusion investigations and/or narrative,” the 43-page FBI document written in September of 2019 states. The records were compiled in response to a criminal referral made that year by then-Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) that claimed Nellie Ohr knowingly gave false testimony about her involvement with the collusion investigation to the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees in October 2018. Durham report: Ex-DOJ official and wife had bigger roles in Steele dossier than known |
2023-05-18 |
According to the 306-page report, former Justice Department prosecutor Bruce Ohr’s wife Nellie Ohr first plowed the ground for the dossier with a series of research reports she wrote for Fusion GPS, the D.C.-based opposition research firm the Clinton campaign commissioned to dig up dirt on Trump and Russia. Obtained by Durham, her reports zeroed in on Sergei Millian and his connections to Russia and Trump, falsely portraying him as a key intermediary between the Kremlin and the Republican candidate. They would later provide the foundation for the dossier’s many fictions. "Fusion GPS records demonstrate that Nellie Ohr first identified Millian," Durham states in his report. "All told, Ohr prepared at least 12 reports that discussed Sergei Millian." She wrote her first Millian report in April 2016, the month before Fusion GPS hired former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele to put his imprimatur as a supposed former "spy" and "Russian insider" on the dossier. Christopher Steele says sources tell him Putin is seriously ill |

[NEWS.YAHOO] The former British spy who wrote an infamous dossier about Donald Trump![]() The Smartest Woman in the Worldin the general election... 's dealings in Russia told Sky News on Sunday that sources had told him that Russian President Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... is seriously ill. If you can't trust Christopher Steele who can you trust? Claims about the 69-year-old leader's health have circulated for months. On Saturday, Ukraine's head of military intelligence, Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, told Sky that Putin is in a "very bad psychological and physical condition and he is very sick." Budanov went on to suggest that the purported illness had incited plans within Russia for a coup. In his interview with Sky, Steele suggested that Putin's health is "an element" of his decision-making in Ukraine. "It's not clear exactly what this illness is — whether it's incurable or terminal, or whatever," he said. "But certainly, I think it's part of the equation." On Thursday, New Lines Magazine said it had obtained a recording of a Russian oligarch saying Putin is "very ill with blood cancer." New Lines said it verified the oligarch's identity but was unable to authenticate the claims in the recording. It is all but impossible to confirm rumors about Putin's health, which describe a panoply of ailments. The Russian investigative news outlet Proekt said in early April that the leader had received dozens of visits from a thyroid-cancer specialist. In early May, a former KGB agent, Boris Karpichkov, told The Sun, without citing sources, that "there is a serious concern that Putin is suffering from" ailments including dementia and Parkinson's disease. The Sun's report followed weeks of tabloid speculation over the leader's appearance, including images of him appearing to steady himself while seated in a meeting with his defense minister. [LAST REFUGE] Nellie Ohr is the wife of DOJ official Bruce Ohr. Nellie Ohr, a specialist in Russian matters, was also a contract employee of the CIA for multiple years. In September 2015 Nellie Ohr approached her former colleague at Fusion GPS (Glenn Simpson) for a job. Nellie Ohr was hired as a contract agent by Fusion to work on the ’Trump Project’ assembling political opposition research that was later shared with another Fusion GPS contract employee, Christopher Steele, and compiled into the ’Steele Dossier’. It always seemed sketchy that at the same time Nellie Ohr began communicating with Christopher Steele and other governmental participants associated with the Steele Dossier, May 2016, she applied for a Ham Radio License [FCC LINK]: |

DOJ official Bruce Ohr meets with Senate Judiciary Committee behind closed doors |
2020-07-01 |
![]() Justice Department official Bruce Ohr is on Capitol Hill Tuesday, answering questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee behind closed doors, Fox News has learned. The former associate deputy attorney general is one of dozens of individuals the committee subpoenaed earlier this month as part of their investigation of the Russia probe and the FBI's abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in obtaining a warrant to conduct surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Ohr, who did not answer questions about his meeting while he was on his way to the committee, was a key contact inside the Justice Department for ex-British spy Christopher Steele, who authored an anti-Trump dossier for research firm Fusion GPS as opposition research for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. Ohr's wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS at the time. That dossier, which remains unverified, was instrumental in obtaining the FISA warrant for Page, according to a report from Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz. Earlier this month, former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testified that he would not have signed a FISA warrant renewal application for Carter Page had he known about since-revealed "significant errors" in the application. A transcript of a closed-door meeting Nellie Ohr had with the House Judiciary Committee in 2019 revealed that she had worked extensively on opposition research for Clinton's campaign, although she largely did not work on the dossier itself. The transcript also confirmed that Bruce and Nellie Ohr met with Steele at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. the day before the FBI launched its investigation into the Trump campaign, known as Crossfire Hurricane. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has said he wants to get to the bottom of what happened behind the scenes of the Russia investigation, particularly regarding the use of the dossier. Graham has often pointed to Steele's sub-source, who said the information in the dossier was unreliable, and questioned who among FBI and DOJ leadership was aware of this. "I can't believe the FBI is that poorly run," Graham told "Hannity" earlier this month, "that [during] the most important investigation in 30 years of a sitting president that nobody told the top of the FBI, 'Oh, by the way, our case fell apart.'" The following from Amazon, on the book: The first investigation into why a ring of senior Washington officials went rogue to derail the election and the presidency of Donald Trump. There was nothing normal about the 2016 presidential election, not when senior U.S. officials were turning the surveillance powers of the federal government—designed to stop terrorist attacks—against the Republican presidential team. These were the ruthless tactics of a Soviet-style police state, not a democratic republic. The Red Thread asks the simple question: Why? What is it that motivated these anti-Trump conspirators from inside and around the Obama administration and Clinton networks to depart so drastically from “politics as usual” to participate in a seditious effort to overturn an election? Finding clues in an array of sources, Diana West uses her trademark investigative skills, honed in her dazzling work, American Betrayal, to construct a fascinating series of ideological profiles of well-known but little understood anti-Trump actors, from James Comey to Christopher Steele to Nellie Ohr, and the rest of the Fusion GPS team; from John Brennan to the numerous Clintonistas still patrolling the Washington Swamp after all these years, and more. Once, we knew these officials by august titles and reputation; after The Red Thread, readers will recognize their multi-generational and inter-connecting communist and socialist pedigrees, and see them for what they really are: foot-soldiers of the Left, deployed to take down America’s first “America First” and most anti-Communist president. If we just give it a pull, the “red thread” is very long and very deep. |

Revealing the systemic coup between Bruce Ohr and Christopher Steele |
2019-08-10 |
[COMMDIGINEWS] July congressional hearings reveal that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s team conducted a two-day interview in London with British ex-spy The truth is coming home to roost. The facts emerging are that Steele’s anti-Trump bias was well known at or about the November 2016 presidential election. Despite the many red flags, the DOJ, including operative Bruce Ohr’s bias, the initial FISA applications did rely on the dossier. A dossier that holds no truth. Attorney General William Barr and the front man for John Durham both said that the focus of their investigation would be on "unauthorized surveillance" and "political surveillance". The Durham investigation will inevitably focus on John Brennan ...director of the CIA under the Obama administration. One of the deeper dwelling denizens of the Deep State, possibly even the guy who lit the match that launched the Russiagate coup attempt... , James Clapper, and James The spine of the FBI is the rule of lawComey ![]() . The implications of what comes out will be earthshaking. Before the FBI applied for its first FISA warrant, bureau officials were battling with a senior Justice Department official who had "continued concerns" about the "possible bias" of a source pivotal to the application. (FBI clashed with DOJ over potential ’bias’ of source for surveillance warrant: McCabe-Page texts) Nonetheless, Jim Comey signed off on the FISA warrant applications to surveil the Trump campaign. This despite "an individual with links to the dossier" that was desperate that Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... lose the eleciton. Once Trump won, Steele, Strozk, Comey, and Ohr were all "passionate" about him not ascending to the presidency. GOP investigators seek Nellie Ohr's research for Fusion GPS on Trump family |

In testimony to lawmakers late last year, Ohr said she gathered information during the 2016 campaign about President Trump, his wife Melania Trump, and his children for Fusion GPS, the same opposition research firm that was paid by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign for British ex-spy Christopher Steele's anti-Trump dossier. The Republican investigators want to know if Ohr's Trump family research made it to the FBI or got into Steele's dossier. Ohr testified in December that she was tasked with researching the Trump family "broadly in connection with any ‐ any Russian |

Rep. Meadows Files Criminal Referral Against Nellie Ohr After New Emails to DOJ About Russian Collusion Surface |
2019-05-02 |
A series of "Hi Honey" emails from Nellie Ohr to her top DOJ husband Bruce Ohr surfaced and suggested Hillary-funded oppo research was being funneled into the DOJ during the 2016 election through a backchannel between the happily married Ohr couple. Nellie Ohr previously told Congress that during the 2016 election, she worked for Fusion GPS to help them connect Trump and Manafort to Russian organized crime. New Nellie Ohr emails discovered through a FOIA lawsuit show evidence to the contrary. Via John Solomon of The Hill: Now, 339 pages of emails from her private account to Department of Justice (DOJ) email accounts, have been released under a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative legal group Judicial Watch. And they are raising concerns among Republicans in Congress, who filed a criminal referral with the Justice Department on Wednesday night. They clearly show that Ohr sent reams of open-source intelligence to her husband, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, and on some occasions to at least three DOJ prosecutors: Lisa Holtyn, Ivana Nizich and Joseph Wheatley. The contents tracked corruption developments in Russia and Ukraine, including intelligence affecting Russian figures she told Congress she had tried to connect to Trump or Manafort. "Hi Honey, if you ever get a moment you might find the penultimate article interesting ‐ especially the summary in the final paragraph," Nellie Ohr emailed her husband on July 6, 2016, in one typical communication. The article and paragraph she flagged suggested that Trump was a Putin stooge: "If Putin wanted to concoct the ideal candidate to service his purposes, his laboratory creation would look like Donald Trump." Nellie Ohr bolded that key sentence for apparent emphasis. Earlier Wednesday, Congressman Jim Jordan told Saagar Enjeti of The Hill that Rep. Mark Meadows was "working to finalize" a criminal referral of Nellie Ohr. "We’ll see if that happens. |

DOJ's Bruce Ohr Shared Email Address with Fusion GPS Contractor Wife |
2019-04-03 |
In a section of the testimony that remains largely unreported by the news media, Nellie Ohr admitted that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson "occasionally" sent messages to the joint email account that she shared with her husband. In his own testimony, Bruce Ohr recounted maintaining direct contact with dossier author Christopher Steele even after the former British spy was terminated as an FBI source over reports that Steele was communicating with reporters. In doing so, Ohr lent credibility to a Republican House Intelligence Committee memo alleging that he served as a back-channel between the FBI and Christopher Steele, who penned the dossier for Fusion GPS. The dossier was financed by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the DNC via the Perkins Coie law firm, which in turn funded Fusion GPS. During Bruce’s time at the Justice Department, Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS, where she was conducting research looking for connections between Russia and members of Donald Trump’s campaign, including Trump himself as well as the politician’s family, Nellie Ohr testified. During the course of her testimony, reviewed in full by Breitbart News, Nellie Ohr divulged that she maintained a joint email account with her husband and that Simpson sent emails to that account. The October 19, 2018 testimony before a joint session of the House Judiciary and Government Reform and Oversight committees was released last week. |
