Pentagon To Pay For Soldiers To Manufacture Motherless And Fatherless Babies |
2024-01-31 |
The policy change stems from a lawsuit brought by an abortion and transgender activist group against both the Pentagon and the Department of Veterans Affairs over their requirements for ART like in vitro fertilization, egg and sperm retrieval, and egg and sperm cryopreservation. DOD and VA rules previously limited morally and ethically prohibited the reproductive procedures funded by hardworking Americans’ dollars to service members and veterans who were married to someone of the opposite sex, could use their own gametes for any ART procedures, and had received an infertility diagnosis linked to injury, illness, or a service-connected disability. When the National Organization for Women’s New York City Chapter (NOW-NYC), represented by Yale law students, filed a federal complaint over the "exclusionary coverage limitations" in August 2023, however, the Pentagon pivoted. NOW-NYC initially alleged the DOD and VA’s policies are "arbitrary," unconstitutional, and violate the Affordable Care Act because they don’t force taxpayers to pay for overcoming natural biological limits for soldiers who are LGBT, unmarried, or want to buy sperm or eggs. |

Andrew Cuomo's hilarious 'cancel culture' excuse |
2021-03-13 |
[NYPOST] In keeping with his obstinate posture of denial and deflection, Gov. Andrew SonnyCuomo ![]() Yes, Albany’s tyrant, accused now by seven women of sexual harassment, the target of a federal investigation into underreporting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, asked to resign by the majority of New York house Democrats and the National Organization for Women, abandoned by the New York Times ![]() ...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... , New York magazine and other house organs of the left-leaning media, subject of a just-opened police investigation in Albany — yes, Andrew Cuomo is simply a victim of the woke mob (e.g. crazy, hysterical ladies). "People know the difference between playing to politics, bowing to cancel culture and the truth," Cuomo said Friday afternoon. This is as laughable as his brother Chris’s claim last week that to cover his brother’s scandals would be journalistically unethical — despite Chris hosting Andrew on CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... constantly during the pandemic’s height. |

RUMOR. More Allegations About Justin Fairfax May Be On The Way |
2019-02-07 |
[RedState] This is why I think there will be more out there. Dr. Tyson was outside Fairfax’s social circle so when the Washington Post did their half-assed investigation when the incident was reported to them after the 2017 election, they would not necessarily have found anything if this was his pattern. Dr. Tyson’s description makes Fairfax seem very proficient in his chosen form of seduction. This implies there are others out there who now know they are not alone. Fairfax has lawyered up. NOW is now lumbering onto the field and when they go after a Democrat it is a serious matter. This could all be wishful thinking and internet bullsh** but right now a safe bet is that there are other women out there and Fairfax knows it. Wegmans boycott over Trump wine backfires; supermarket sells out | |
2017-02-22 | |
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Calls to boycott Wegmans Food Markets, a popular supermarket chain, because it sells Trump Winery products have backfired on the Prince William County, Virginia, chapter of the National Organization for Women. A spokeswoman for Wegmans, a New York-based company, told Fox News on Monday that Trump wines flew off its shelves last week. Out of 10 locations, only its Charlottesville store did not completely sell out. Jo Natale, Wegmans’ vice president of media relations, told the network that 100 bottles of Trump Winery Meritage and 20 bottles of the Cru remained at its Charlottesville location as of Friday evening. Calls for boycotts began with a story involving Prince William County’s chapter of NOW in The Washington Post published Feb. 14. "Certainly if Wegmans is carrying Trump wines, I personally will not shop there," Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, told the newspaper.

Schumer: Senate Will 'Never, Never, Never' Defund Planned Parenthood |
2011-04-09 |
(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Chuck Schumer Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower. (D-N.Y.) vowed yesterday that the provision to defund Planned Parenthood ...has received federal funding since 1970, when President Richard Nixon signed into law the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act. that passed the House earlier this year is "never, never, never going to pass the Senate." Schumer made the remarks Thursday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., at a "Stand Up for Women's Health" rally sponsored by the National Organization for Women, NARAL and Planned Parenthood. "The dangerous, ideological cuts to Planned Parenthood that passed the House are never, never, never going to pass the Senate," said Schumer. "Let me repeat that, so all those who want to stomp on women's health and women's rights can hear us loud and clear. The dangerous, ideological cuts to Planned Parenthood that passed the House are never, never, never going to pass the Senate." |

NOW calls for NY Gov. David Paterson to resign |
2010-03-03 |
The National Organization for Women today urged New York Gov. David Paterson to resign because of a report he directed two staffers to contact a woman about a domestic violence case involving one of his top aides. The group is highly influential in Democratic politics and called for the governor's resignation despite what it considers Paterson's "excellent" record of strong support for women's issues and in combatting domestic violence. "It is inappropriate for the governor to have any contact or to direct anyone to contact an alleged victim of violence," said Marcia Pappas, president of NOW New York State. "This latest news is very disappointing for those of us who believed the governor was a strong advocate for women's equality and for ending violence against women." |

NOW: Kill the Senate health bill entirely' |
2010-01-22 |
WASHINGTON -- As Democrats weigh options for health reform following a major setback in the Massachusetts election, the nation's leading womens' rights group blasted the legislation as "beyond outrageous." The National Organization for Women (NOW) harbors deep concerns with the Senate health legislation, and exclaims that "women will be better off with no bill whatsoever." I love it when they begin to eat their own. "The Senate bill contains such fierce anti-abortion language, and there are other problems from the point of view of women," NOW's President Terry O'Neill told Raw Story in an interview. O'Neill said NOW "will not support candidates in 2010 if they vote for it." House Democratic leaders have said they won't take up the Senate bill, citing party divisions, so NOW's immediate concern has been averted. But the group's staunch opposition shines a spotlight on the divisions Democrats will have to confront as they move forward on health care and other issues. NOW's resolute opposition, she said, became inevitable after the anti-abortion provisions added in the 11th hour at the request of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE). O'Neill said as a result of Nelson's amendment, "insurance companies will in a few years stop offering abortion care even in private policies because it's too much of an administrative hassle," forcing women to "pay for abortions out of their own pockets." "That's the conclusion of the George Washington University School of Public Health," she added. "The Nelson amendment achieved the same outcome -- through very different means -- as the Stupak-Pitts amendment over on the House side. It takes a little bit longer, maybe 2 to 4 years longer." "Health care is a basic human right, and both the Senate bill and the House bill presume to take this human right away only from women, and not from men. Only women are targeted. So we say, you know what, kill the health bill entirely." O'Neill said the Republican Scott Brown's victory over Democrat Martha Coakley in Tuesday's Massachusetts election was "a referendum on business as usual in Washington" and "voter disappointment about change that has not happened." "It's a lot about health care," she added. "The Senate bill is a giveaway to the insurance companies, and reminiscent of the bank bailout. People voted against that in 2008, they voted for change." O'Neill ripped the "the closed door negotiations" that many believe took place in the shaping of the bill, saying that "people want transparency." She said the Democratic leadership's actions on health care have been similar to the Bush administration's tendency to write legislation secretively and "jam it down the throats of Congress." While accepting that the bill is flawed, many Democrats argue the process of passing it and extending coverage required regrettable giveaways. Progressives are divided as to whether the final outcome is worth supporting. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, a highly respected progressive voice, has urged passage of the legislation despite its issues. "[L]et's all take a deep breath, and consider just how much good this bill would do, if passed and how much better it would be than anything that seemed possible just a few years ago," Krugman argued last month. "With all its flaws, the Senate health bill would be the biggest expansion of the social safety net since Medicare, greatly improving the lives of millions. Getting this bill would be much, much better than watching health care reform fail," he said. O'Neill had high praise for Coakley, calling her a "true friend of women." "We strongly endorsed Coakley. She is a great leader, she is a good candidate. "We need more women like Martha Coakley to run for office. More women run, more women will win." The NOW president said the "male-dominated Democratic Party" is not doing women any favors by bringing in anti-abortion zealots," slamming Nelson and Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), who amendment to restrict abortion coverage in the House health bill passed minutes before the final vote. "Women are clearly harmed" by these lawmakers, O'Neill said. "Shame on the male-dominated Democratic Party for supporting them. They hold themselves out as the party that is women-friendly; well they're not acting like it." "And that has a lot to do with why Martha Coakley lost this election," O'Neill alleged, explaining the Democrats' loss of Ted Kennedy's seat with an argument that few others have made. The White House and DNC slammed Coakley on Tuesday for running a weak campaign and refused to take the blame for her loss. |

Monserrate pressured to leave State Senate |
2009-10-18 |
![]() Monserrate was acquitted Thursday in a nonjury trial on felony charges of slashing his girlfriend's face last December. But security cameras captured the lawmaker dragging the woman from the Queens apartment building where the injury occurred, en route to a Long Island hospital, which resulted in a misdemeanor assault conviction for using too much force. Some Democrats called for the resignation of Monserrate, a former New York City police officer, for his role in what prosecutors described as a jealousy-fueled rage. But Sen. Ruben Diaz of the Bronx defended Monserrate, saying he was "found guilty of trying to do good by forcing his girlfriend to go to the hospital for treatment." Diaz also accused his colleagues of hypocrisy for supporting then-Sen. John Sabini of Queens last year following following drunken-driving plea -- but not Monserrate. The controversy is more than just Monserrate's fate. Democrats hold a 32-30 majority in the State Senate. If Monserrate resigns, some say a special election might not be able to be held until early next year. So the Democrats would need Republican help to get the 32 votes needed to pass legislation -- such as measures to reduce the state deficit. Monserrate also faces up to a year in jail. Insiders said the misdemeanor conviction was the worst possible outcome for Senate Democrats because it keeps the issue festering. A felony conviction would have led to Monserrate's automatic expulsion, and an acquittal would have blunted the resignation demands. The resignation demands came fast and furious Friday. State Sen. Liz Krueger, D-Manhattan, said Monserrate should resign "for the sake of his constituents, the institution of the Senate and the Democratic Party." "Domestic violence is a scourge on our society," she added. "We're held to a high standard in the Senate, and I would expect he would understand that and resign immediately," said Sen. Neil D. Breslin, D-Albany. Other Democrats joined in those calls, with some saying they will push for expulsion proceedings if Monserrate does not resign. The position of Buffalo-area Senate Democrats were unclear. Sen. Antoine M. Thompson, D-Buffalo, did not return a call seeking comment, but a Thompson aide left a voice mail message noting the Senate leadership "has been considering further action on Monserrate. Sen. William T. Stachowski, D-Lake View, could not be reached to comment. Local Republicans were not shy. "It's an outrage that he's still in the Senate," said Sen. Catharine Young of Olean. "He needs to go immediately. Lawbreakers cannot be lawmakers." Monserrate declined to comment. Democrats opposed to ousting Monserrate include Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada of the Bronx. "As it relates to Albany business, I think it's something that should be put behind us now," Espada said. Last year, he and Monserrate formed a Hispanic-led alliance that led to last spring's coup allowing Republicans to regain control of the Senate temporarily. Espada termed efforts to get Monserrate to resign as "misplaced attention" by lawmakers who should be spending their time weighing ways to reduce the state's deficit. "We don't need to retry this matter in the Senate," Espada said. The state's chapter of the National Organization for Women, meanwhile, urged Democratic leaders to find "the courage to oust him for his behavior." NOW also criticized State Supreme Court Justice William M. Erlbaum, the judge in the nonjury trial, saying he ignored the 40 stitches on the woman's face, as well as testimony by hospital workers and the video. "So the question now is: Will the Democratic leadership turn a blind eye for political expediency, or will they do the right thing? History intimates it is highly unlikely that the Democrats will rid themselves and New York of Sen. Monserrate, even though they could hold a special election and easily fill his seat with another Democrat," the NOW statement said. |

Obama speechwriter in hot water for groping Hillary (in effigy) |
2008-12-08 |
Andrew Breitbart, RCP At the exact moment Jon Favreau is receiving high praise in pre-inaugural media puff pieces, the 27-year-old chief speechwriter for President-elect Barack Obama . . . finds himself in a minor mess over a photo from a recent private party showing him groping the breast of a cardboard cutout of Hillary Rodham Clinton as an unnamed pal wearing an "Obama staff" T-shirt kisses and feeds her beer. . . . Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson danced to a similar tune at the 2004 Super Bowl. Fraternities have been closed for less. The provocative party pic uploaded to Facebook for a very short time was soon discovered and printed in The Washington Post then disseminated across the Internet and featured prominently on Politico, Gawker and the Drudge Report. The photo may be viewed here. ![]() The aggressive iconography of two young drunk men taking advantage of a life-size cutout of a woman - especially a powerful one - would bring an elite college campus to a standstill, force a housecleaning of a Fortune 500 company, ground the Air Force Academy and would, in most cases, ruin the career of a Republican staffer or elected official. Every sexual harassment training manual makes exceedingly clear that this type of behavior is intolerable. If only former President Bill Clinton could offer his sage advice on sexual harassment and put this conundrum to rest. . . . The National Organization for Women, which last struck issuing news releases on why Sarah Palin isn't a real woman, refused to comment on the Obama speechwriter incident. When NOW's press secretary Mai Shiozaki was reached Friday, she first claimed not to have seen the Favreau photograph. But when called later, she offered two reasons for not weighing in: "I haven't looked into it" and "I have a 5 p.m. deadline. ... I am already late." . . . The "Feminist Law Professors" blog adds this pointed observation: If this is supposed to be excused as a youthful indiscretion because Favreau is so young then I think Obamas judgment in continuing to rely professionally on someone so young and irresponsible and offensively sexist can reasonably be questioned. |

Fisk of a NOW blurb |
2008-10-16 |
forwarded to me by a relative, just begging to be fisked. here for your snarky entertainment... Subject: N.O.W. To: FYI, The National Organization for Women has endorsed the Obamba-Biden ticket for just the reasons listed below. They usually do not endorse, but in this case believed it was absolutely necessary to take a stand. Why, after that reckless L.A chapter brass sounded so darned sympathetic when she introduced Gov. Palin, why, they simply couldn't bear the thought of being even remotely associated with the idea that NOW might have actually lent its official stamp of approval! Sort of like the Democrats WRT Bush for the past 8 years... If you agree, please pass this on. And if you don't agree, pass this version on. Subject: Women and Sarah Palin Friends, We are writing to you because of the fury Because Hell hath no fury like a voting bloc scorned and dread Doom! DOOM!!! we have felt since the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican Party. We believe that this terrible decision has surpassed mere partisanship, and that it is a dangerous farce on the part of a pandering and rudderless Presidential candidate that has a real possibility of becoming fact. Perhaps like us, as American women, you share the fear of what Ms. Palin and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for ourselves and for our present or future daughters. Hmm... this'll be news to your opponents, ladies -- a lot of them they don't believe you intend for yourselves or anyone else on this planet to ever bear children again. Maybe you should spend more energy making that more widely known, instead of working yourselves into a bout of the vapors over Her Guvnership. To date, she is against sex education, birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection, And what was John McCain's interview with the Nature Conservancy? Or was that the NWF? Excuse me while I fact-check my own arse -- but still, what was that -- chopped liver? alternative energy development, oil shale, tar sands... that's not alternative energy development? Somebody's invoking the Humpty Dumpty Rule again... freedom of speech, I must have missed that one -- when exactly did she come out against freedom of speech? gun control, No, she's very much FOR gun control. Being able to hit your target, that is. the separation of church and state, and polar bears. Oh dear Gaia, stop the presses! How could anyone with a HEART even POSSIBLY be against those cute cuddly POLAR BEARS!! Oh effing please. To say nothing of her complete lack of real preparation to become the second-(and possibly first)-most-powerful person on the planet. Repeat that again: if being a mayor and sitting governor isn't qualifying for Veep, how the Eff does You Know Who's thin resume qualify HIM for CIC? We want to clarify that we are not against Sarah Palin as a woman, No, she's just a gyno-American who doesn't agree with our stance, ergo, she's not a "woman" in the political sense of the term. Thank you, H. Dumpty. a mother, or, for that matter, a parent of a pregnant teenager, but solely as a rash, incompetent, and altogether devastating choice for Vice President. As opposed to, say, Condoleeza Rice? You got a better suggestion in mind? Ms. Palin's political views are in every way a slap in the face to the accomplishments that our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers so fiercely fought for, and from which we've so demonstrably benefited. What -- because "18 Million cracks in the glass ceiling" wasn't a big enough hat tip? First and foremost, Ms. Palin does not represent us. She does not demonstrate or uphold our interests as American women. It is presumed that the inclusion of a woman on the Republican ticket could win over women voters. Never mind that there is a whole Flyover Country of women whom she DOES represent -- but we won't mention them. Gosh, it's like they don't even count. We want to disagree, publicly. If you agree that Palin is an irresponsible, even dangerous, choice for VP, please consider participating in this drive. Gentlemen, send this to the women you know and care for. I know it's tough to understand the way this choice is impacting women, but I have never seen so many women so outraged, angry and distraught in my entire life. We'd like our voices heard. Trust me, ma'am, they are... It's those other gyno-Americans, whose votes ALSO count, if you hadn't noticed? Y'think maybe they might like to be heard too? I thought diversity was a good thing If you agree, PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY! If you send this to 20 women in the next hour, you could be blessed with a country that takes your concerns seriously. Assuming that this is your only concern. Stranger things have happened. Yeah, this could have been a Rudy / Hillary matchup. And where would you be then? |

"America, this is what a feminist looks like" |
2008-10-05 |
Who said that about Sarah Palin? Would you believe the president of LA's National Organization for Women, Shelly Mandel? Amazing! This is quite a moment for her to push back against the pressure from the feminist groups who see Sarah Palin as a traitor because she's a Republican and pro-life who actually lived her principles. Let's hope more mainstream, liberal feminists come out of their closets and support Sarah because, as Shelly said, Sarah supports women's rights, equal pay, Title 9, and the middle class. She has integrity and demands it from others. Take a look Shelly gave a wonderful endorsement. I'm thrilled to have her as a fellow Sarah Palin supporter. If other feminists and NOW presidents come out and trash Shelly, we need to stand behind her and give her a lot of support. I was talking to my husband about this and told him that this is probably the reason why she went to California. The endorsement of the president of one of the largest chapters of NOW is huge, which explains why the MSM isn't reporting it. |
