NEA Promotes World Hijab Day, Ignores Women Brutalized and Killed for Not Wearing Hijab

[PJMedia] Saturday, Feb. 1, is another World Hijab Day, a Western feminist expression of solidarity with Moslem women in the United States who are supposedly oppressed and discriminated against because they wear the hijab. The National Education Association (NEA) is going in for this in a big way out of concern for hijab-wearing Moslem women who have supposedly been discriminated against. Notably absent, however, is any NEA concern for women who have been victimized for not wearing the hijab.

The NEA asserted Wednesday that "Moslem students in the United States—from middle school through college and university—are experiencing harassment, discrimination, and bullying at scary rates, surveys show. On college campuses, 49% of Moslem students experienced harassment or discrimination due to their Moslem identity, they told the Council on American—Islamic Relations-CA in 2024. More than one in three felt targeted by professors; more than half by their peers." That would be terrible indeed, but it ain’t necessarily so.

Nonetheless, in order to counter this alleged harassment and discrimination, the NEA wants you to observe World Hijab Day, and quotes one of the proponents of the day as saying: "The whole goal is to dismantle Islamophobia

." The idea that there have been any significant manifestations of "Islamophobia" is, however, dubious; note that the NEA relies for its data on the Hamas

Also, the oppression related to the hijab is not linked to wearing it, but to not wearing it. Actual incidents of Moslem women being harassed or discriminated against for wearing the hijab in the U.S., meanwhile, are extraordinarily hard to find. It’s much easier to find examples of Moslem women in America who falsely claimed that they were being harassed or discriminated against in order to score points on the left’s insane scale of victimhood worship.

Back on Sept. 16, 2022, in Tehran, the Iranian morality police arrested Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, for not wearing her hijab properly. Amini later died in a hospital in Tehran, and numerous Iranians charged that she had been tortured to death while in jug. All over the country, protesters erupted into the streets to protest not against the hijab laws, but against the repressive and brutal Islamic Theocratic Republic itself.

Other women, and male protesters as well, were killed as the Iranian regime ruthlessly applied the Qur’anic injunction to "strike terror in the enemies of Allah" (8:60). The protests went on for months until the regime began summarily executing protesters, and even then some indomitably courageous Iranians continued to take to the streets to demand their freedom.

It is against that backdrop that World Hijab Day is once again being celebrated. For innumerable women in Iran, the hijab is the most visible sign of their second-class status, and of the brutality of the regime that will imprison them for years or even kill them outright for daring to venture out in public without wearing it.

"The naval, missile, and UAV forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a specific military operation targeting the ship "Tutor" in the Red Sea, using an unmanned surface boat, number of drones, and ballistic missiles," Yemen’s military front man Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, said in a televised statement on Wednesday night.

One sailor from Tutor, the Liberia-flagged coal carrier, remains missing, officials in the Philippines said.

The attack near the Yemeni port of Hodeidah on Wednesday caused severe flooding and damage to the engine room and left Tutor unable to maneuver.

Iran-aligned Houthis grabbed credit for the missile attack on Tutor and another vessel, Verbena, in the Gulf of Aden, over the past days.

Tutor’s 22 crew members are mostly Filipino, Hans Cacdac, the Philippines’ Department of Migrant Workers secretary, told a presser in Manila. Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr said the country’s authorities were coordinating with the UKMTO to take the crew members to Djibouti and bring them home.

The missing crew member was believed to be trapped in the engine room, maritime sources said.

"We are still ... trying to account for the particular seafarer in that ship. We are praying we could find him," Cacdac said.

The ship’s Athens-based manager Evalend Shipping has not responded to Rooters’ requests for comment.

Tsavliris Salvage Group has been assigned to tow the ship, which is carrying 80,000 tons of coal, a source with knowledge of the matter told Rooters. The project will involve two vessels. The first is expected to reach Tutor on Monday morning and the second on Tuesday evening.

The Houthis’ air and sea assaults have disrupted global shipping, causing delays and costs to cascade through supply chains. At least 65 countries and major energy and shipping companies — including Shell SHEL.L, BP BP.L, Maersk MAERSKb.CO and Cosco — have been affected, according to a report by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency.

’s Houthi rebels launched two anti-ship cruise missiles and struck a commercial ship Thursday in the Gulf of Aden off Yemen, setting it on fire and severely wounding one civilian mariner, authorities said. The M/V Verbena was still ablaze and the mariner was flown by a US helicopter based on the USS Philippine Sea to another nearby ship for medical treatment, the US military’s Central Command said.

In a statement, Central Command said the Verbena is a Palauan-flagged, Ukrainian-owned and Polish-operated bulk cargo carrier that had docked in Malaysia and was on its way to Italia carrying wood. "The M/V Verbena reported damage and subsequent fires on board. The crew continues to fight the fire," the statement said.

Earlier Thursday, the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center said a vessel had been attacked and had caught fire. And the private security firm Ambrey said a merchant vessel made a radio distress call saying it had been struck by a missile.

The Houthis later claimed the attack on the Verbena, as well as attacks on two other ships in the Red Sea. Central Command said the Houthis had launched two ballistic missiles in the Red Sea that caused "no injuries or significant damage."

The UKMTO said one vessel earlier missed by the Houthis was hit by a "third projectile" that caused "minor damage." The vessel was able to remain underway, it said.

The attack on the Verbena followed the Houthis launching a boat-borne kaboom against a commercial ship in the Red Sea on Wednesday.

Central Command also said it destroyed a Houthi drone boat and two patrol boats in the Red Sea, as well as one airborne drone.

Fairfax County Public Schools suspends student for allegedly blowing whistle on swastika flag

[Fairfax County Times] Last week, Jewish students at Langley High School were stunned to see the image of a U.S. flag that a classmate had drawn in Room 1406 during a meeting of the Muslim Students Association,

replacing the stars on the flag with swastikas and the message "Free Palestine!" in between squiggles for stripes. The image circulated quickly at school, as pro-Palestine students staged a "walkout" on Friday, carrying another sign with swastikas on it and chanting, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," a call-to-action that Jewish groups have decried as an anti-semitic war cry to destroy the state of Israel.

Now, Jewish students and parents are shocked to learn that Langley administrators this week suspended not only the Muslim student who drew the swastikas on the U.S. flag but also an Asian American classmate whom school officials accused of leaking the photo to the public. Local Jewish community members and their allies plan a rally on Nov. 17, at 11 a.m., at Fairfax County Public Schools’ Gatehouse headquarters, which they have renamed "Hatehouse," to protest the retaliation against the Asian American teen and the lack of school district action on anti-Jew hate.

The controversy over swastikas at one of America’s top high schools, just down the road from CIA headquarters, brings the contentious global battle over Israel and Palestine from college campuses and the streets into America’s K-12 school system. For several years, parents have expressed their concerns that administrators at Fairfax County Public Schools are ignoring antisemitism, said Rebecca Schgallis, cofounder of the group United Against Antisemitism. "Fairfax County Public Schools has emboldened students to become even more aggressive in their open antisemitism where they explicitly express support for Hamas and include swastikas in their signage. Jewish students have been threatened at these walkouts, and yet FCPS is falsely claiming to the community that they are peaceful and orderly. When Jewish students and their allies protest against antisemitism, they have their own right to free speech and rights outlined in the Student Rights and Responsibilities violated."

Last week, teens at Robinson Secondary School, off Sideburn Road in Fairfax, rallied in front of their school with a shocking chant breaking out, "Long live Hamas!" Parents who witnessed the chant asked administrators to intervene, but they didn’t, according to a video of the event.

Late last month, across the county at Woodson High School, a Jewish senior, Yakov Schwartz, 18, led a group of half a dozen students, carrying two small Israeli flags, to the football field, where about 250 students organized by the Muslim Students Association rallied against Israel. At one point, students tried to grab his flag, and a mass of anti-Israel students rushed the field to hover menacingly over the Jewish students.

Schwartz said the decision by the Langley administrators to punish the alleged whistleblower follows a pattern and practice of retaliation school district officials mete out against Jewish students and their allies when they raise issues about anti-semitism. "Fairfax County Public Schools doesn’t truly care about making schools safe for every student," he said.

I would have said that SJP and MSA are two of the U.S. branches of the Muslim Brotherhood, while Hamas — which stands for something, though I can’t remember what — is the Muslim Brotherhood branch in the Palestinian Territories, Israel having its own. Recall also, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad is merely a splinter of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt that wanted to get violent, so they went to Gaza, where Hamas was perfectly happy to let them off the leash from time to time.

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit has advised members to be courageous to wear hijab to schools despite the pockets of harassment and victimisation experienced in a few schools.

Speaking on Wednesday, during the celebration of the 2023 World Hijab Day, Amirah (female president) of MSSN Lagos, Azeezah Gidigbih, called on the government of Lagos State to sack and prosecute any teacher or principal who violates the order of the court on hijab.

World Hijab Day is marked globally on February 1st to celebrate women wearing hijabs and discourage discrimination.

In her address, Gidigbih explained that the theme of the 2023 WHD, 'Progression not Oppression', reflects the situation of hijab-wearing students in Nigeria.

She said, "Just like yesterday, we jubilated when the Supreme Court after a legal tussle of about 10 years granted us victory over the use of hijab in schools.

"Indeed, we are making progress. Our efforts are yielding positive results and we won't rest until we achieve 100 % compliance on the use of hijab by our members," she added.

While threatening to sue anyone found harassing students and denying them their rights to use hijab in schools, Gidigbih challenged the Lagos State Government to publicly sanction any erring principal or teacher.

Gidigbih, who appreciated the Lagos State Government for issuing a circular to permit hijab in public schools, lamented the continuous harassment of its members wearing hijab after the Supreme Court judgment and the state government's circular in 2022.

She said, "It is no longer news that in June 2022, the Supreme Court approved for students to use the hijab in all schools. This move has however not deterred some overzealous school administrators who still throw caution to the wind and harass students without regard for the constitution and directives from their employers.

"We recommend that they should be demoted, sacked, prosecuted and jailed instead of just being transferred as witnessed in recent cases. These disobedient elements don't deserve to be in our education system in Lagos State.

"While we are not against students conforming to school rules and regulations on dress code, we will not allow the effect of the Supreme Court judgment to be watered down and rendered worthless."

She also hailed the recent appointment of Dr Shareefah Adejoke Yusuf as the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI by the Lagos State Government.

"Just like every other year, the issues are the same. Muslimahs have shown over time that a whole lot can be achieved with the hijab and like others, we should be allowed to show our capabilities.

"Worthy of note is the recent appointment of a hijabi Dr Shareefah Adejoke Yusuf as the Tutor-General/ Permanent Secretary, Education District VI by the Lagos State government. This is an affirmation that the hijab is not a limiting factor to the success of any individual. We commend the Lagos State for this move and we are certain of more success in the nearest future with more innovation and achievements by other hijabis," she stated.

University of Michigan protesters call for ‘Intifada,' demise of Israel: ‘A call to murder Jews'

[NY Post] Social media users were shocked and outraged over a recent anti-Israel rally put on by pro-Palestinian protestors at the University of Michigan this week.

The question is whether this was the bright idea of the Muslim Students Association (Muslim Brotherhood), BLM/Antifa (Black Bloc anarcho-communist syndicate), or the local Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS, a project of the PLO) chapter before pulling in the others because it’s all about intersectionality nowadays.

Clips of the protest depicted marchers, chanting "Intifada, Intifada! Long live the Intifada" a call to violent overthrow of the Jewish state inspired by Palestinian riots and rebellions against Israel in the late 80s, early 90s, and early 2000s.

"There is only one solution!" a female marcher was seen chanting, as the crowd behind her responded, "Intifada! Revolution!

Marchers, seen walking around the Ann Arbor campus screaming into bullhorns and waving Palestinian flags, were also heard chanting the infamous anti-Israel call to arms: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!"

Media reported that the antisemitic rally was held to protest Vice President Kamala Harris’ Thursday visit to the campus, where she gave a speech on climate policy, and student activism. The protestors appeared to be standing against U.S. government support for the state of Israel.

Another video depicted the marchers outside of campus building in which Harris was giving her speech, saying, "Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel’s crimes."

The blatant call to overthrow Israel disturbed prominent Twitter users, who were stunned that such sentiment was expressed so freely on a major American college campus.

Jewish Journal columnist Blake Flayton tweeted, "At the University of Michigan, a call to murder Jews."

Rep. Jared Moskovitz, R-Fla., spoke to the shocking nature of the rally, tweeting, "Using Hitler’s word ’solution’ is intentional here. Israel has a right to exist. We will never compromise that. The Jewish people have a right to exist. We will ensure."

Free Beacon reporter Joe Gabriel Simonson mocked the protesters, tweeting, "Loser activists think this is an intifada."

The Manhattan Institute’s Ilya Shapiro put out a snarky comment about the protest, stating, "It’s because @UMich spends only $18 million annually on DEI."

Mediaite reporter Isaac Schorr remarked, "Not making the best case for your ability to handle your own state, kiddos."

Popular conservative account AG tweeted, "I don’t think most people truly comprehend the level of hate and hostility for Jewish students in several of the top liberal Universities because the school administrations tend to support/enable this stuff."

Hollywood producer and The Spectator columnist Daniella Greenbaum Davis empathized with the Jewish students at University of Michigan. She tweeted, "The first and second intifada saw terrorists brutally murder innocent civilians. Can’t even imagine being a Jew on Michigan’s campus right now."

The Report also mentions groups such as the World Arab Muslim Youth Association (WAMY), based in Saudi Arabia, which the FBI believes is ‘closely associated with funding and financing of international terrorist activities.”

The information in the Report details the activities of these Saudi individuals and related groups, including in the United States. There is a network of links to Saudi government entities, Saudi-funded front groups espousing radical Islam and jihad on the Wahhabist model, and terrorist organizations or individuals. A study of organizations in this network, with the Saudi government agencies or front groups at its hub, is very instructive in itself. But it reveals something else, highly relevant to this year’s presidential election. There are direct links of Islamic organizations in the network to those to which Hillary Clinton’s top aide and confidante Huma Abedin has belonged. To be clear, Huma Abedin is not named in the Report. However, her associations with groups linked to what is referenced in the Report is highly troubling, to say the least.

The Muslim Student Association was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood. It spreads radical Islamist propaganda. FrontPage Magazine has documented the MSA’s indoctrination activities on U.S. campuses in an essay entitled “The Muslim Students Association and the Jihad Network.” The MSA has had close ties with the Muslim World League (MWL), an organization with ties to jihadist terrorist groups, including Hamas and al Qaeda. MWL was founded by members of the Saudi government. The MSA also has close ties with WAMY, one of the organizations mentioned specifically in the Report and which is the youth wing of the Muslim World League. The Report referenced the FBI’s account of the connections of Osama bin Laden’s half-brother, Abdullah Bin Laden, to terrorist organizations. Mentioned specifically was the fact that he was “the President and Director of the World Arab Muslim Youth Association (WAMY) and the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Science in America.”

A cable released by WikiLeaks under then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s name stated that, according to intelligence, the Muslim World League and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth “continue to send money overseas and, at times, fund extremism overseas.”

Answers? No, I believe I've seen quite enough.
Huma Abedin is Vice Chair of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. But Huma is more, much more than that. She is the person closest to the most powerful woman in American politics and perhaps the next President. Huma has been described variously as Hillary’s "body woman," a sort of glorified go-to personal maid, gentle confidant, and by others as an Islamic spy. She may be all of these things, because as we shall see, Huma Abedin has an interesting and complex career history.

Abedin was deeply involved with the establishment of Hillary’s private email server, which was used for all of her work as Secretary of State. Now, since we know Hillary had hundreds of classified or top-secret documents on her vulnerable server (despite her early lies saying she did not), any faith in Huma’s judgment -- at the very least -- has been demolished. You will soon ask yourself, "how did this woman get a security clearance?"

She was born Huma Mahmood Abedin in 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her father, Syed Zainul Abedin, was Indian and born in New Delhi. In the early 1970s, he was affiliated with the Muslim Students Association at Western Michigan University. The Muslim Students Association or MSA was started in 1963 by Saudi Arabia’s biggest charity, the Muslim World League, a group formed and funded by the Kingdom to spread Islam throughout the world.

Her mother, Saleha Mahmood Abedin, was born in Pakistan. Saleha received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977.

Two years after Huma was born, the family moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and with the patronage of Abdullah Omar Naseef of the Muslim World League, founded the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs with offices in Saudi Arabia and London, England. In the 1980’s Syed Abedin was a counselor of the Muslim World League. After his death in 1993, his wife Saleha took over and serves as director of the IMMA (Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs) and as the editor of that organization’s academic magazine, the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. More recently she still edits the Journal and is also a part of the administration of Dar Al-Hekma Women’s College.

'Islamophobia': U.S. cities face anti-Muslim backlash

[USATODAY] Cities across the USA are preparing for the next phase that inevitably follows a terror attack: anti-Muslim backlash.

I've not yet seen the many predictions of an anti-Muslim backlash pan out. But Muslims and Progressives remain convinced of its inevitability.

Across social media, in public forums on college campuses, and even in mainstream political rhetoric from presidential candidates, anger over the deadly terror attacks in Brussels has spawned discontent and suspicion directed at Muslim groups. After the Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
grabbed credit for the attacks, leaders in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and spoke out quickly to dissuade anti-Muslim sentiment.

The aftermath of an attack "is always a difficult time for Muslims in the United States," said Nabil Sheikh, a leader of the Muslim Students Association at Princeton University.

"On Princeton’s campus, students took to anonymous forums like Yik Yak to comment that there are Muslims at Princeton who are radical and would therefore condone yesterday’s attacks," Sheikh said. "These comments not only are appalling and inaccurate but also threaten the well-being of Muslim students."

The Muslim Student Association is the youth branch of the the Muslim Brotherhood in America, ie radicals. Q.E.D.

Pelosi Hosted Muslim Radicals at Fundraiser

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the main Democrat celebrity at a party fundraiser featuring top officials of front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist Hamas organization.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) reported last week that Pelosi headlined the fundraiser in May. One of the guests was Nihad Awad, a founder of the Council for American-Islamic Relations, a group that ostensibly fights for the rights of Muslims, but which federal prosecutors have said is connected to the financing of terrorists.

Pelosis message? Muslims should be Democrats because Republicans are Islamophobes.

The Fundraiser

According to IPT, Pelosi and the Democrats assembled with the suspect Muslims at an invitation-only fundraiser on May 16.

In attendance were about 20 members of a Syrian dissident group and 10 officials representing Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas front groups, IPT reported. It continued,

Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Executive Director Nihad Awad was perhaps the most prominent attendee and played a key role in organizing the event.

CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007-2008 Holy Land Foundation Hamas money-laundering trials, was described in FBI testimony as having been created by Hamas. In a 2007 federal court filing, prosecutors described CAIR as conspiring with other branches of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists.

The FBI officially severed relations with CAIR in 2008 because of its ties to Hamas.

IPT reported that Awad is an open and vociferous supporter of Hamas, a major terrorist organization in the Middle East.

Another of the more notable Muslim guests, IPT reported, was Jamal Barzinji, a founding father of the Muslim Brotherhood in America and co-founder of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), an incubator for Islamic radicalism in North America. MSA was the forerunner of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).
