Terrifying map reveals how bloodthirsty Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua has infiltrated America
2024-10-20
A few highlights for each city — more at the link.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Terrifying new research has laid bare how notorious Venezuelan super gang Tren de Aragua's criminal tentacles have spread across America.

Members of the violent migrant gang TdA have crept into the US hidden among the one million Venezuelan migrants who have entered the country during the Biden administration.

Arrest data shared with DailyMail.com has now revealed that the tattooed gangsters are operating in even more US cities than originally feared - with San Antonio, Texas, the latest hub of activity.

Dubbed the 'epitome of evil' and 'MS-13 on steroids', police investigations showed that the mob is behind a spiraling crime wave across the US, with members accused of murders, violent assaults on cops and sex trafficking women.

'MS-13, they were never organized; Tren de Aragua is a transnational criminal organization from the bottom to the top,' Colorado's former ICE director John Fabbricatore told DailyMail.com.

'These guys right here [in the US] - they're sending money back to leaders in Venezuela. They're set up shop like a corporation - it is the like the mafia. What it took MS-13 to do in like a ten-year period, Tren de Aragua has been able to do in less than a year,' he added.

EL PASO, TEXAS
Texas' largest city to straddle the US-Mexico border has been called the epicenter for TdA activity by state law enforcement officials.

As DailyMail.com exclusively reported, El Paso's Mexican sister city, Juarez, is the gang's new headquarters.

From its base on America's doorstep, gang members move back and forth between the US and Mexico, federal sources tell DailyMail.com.

Texas' sixth largest city, the busiest border crossing for most of 2022 and 2023, has also been used as the entry point for many TdA members.

In March, a rare riot on the border was orchestrated by TdA, in which a migrant mob overwhelmed Texas National Guard members, kicking and overpowering armed soldiers at a border crossing in El Paso, the governor of Texas said.

AURORA, COLORADO
Most of the nation first learned about Tren de Aragua when a video of armed men storming an apartment building in Aurora, Colorado, surfaced in late August.

While local leaders initially denied there was a gang problem in the Denver suburb, they later admitted the international crime ring had taken control of additional apartment complexes in the area.

By September, Coffman acknowledged Tren de Aragua was in the city limits, but continued to claim their presence was isolated to just those three apartments.

However, a July 3 letter to the city manager obtained by DailyMail.com detailed a meeting between the Aurora Police Department, the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations or HSI to discuss the gang problem at the three properties owned by CBZ Management.

'In that meeting, it was disclosed that our situation is not an isolated event, but numerous other multi-family projects in the City of Aurora and throughout the State of Colorado are subject to the same gang control,' disclosed CBZ management's attorney.

A special regional task force between Aurora cops, Colorado State Patrol and Colorado Bureau of Investigation was created on August 19 to take the cartel down.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
TdA has been caught replicating its Aurora criminal model San Antonio, Texas.

Law enforcement sources confirmed TdA had been operating at the Palatia Apartments for five to six months, squatting in empty units they either rented out to other migrants, used as a base to deal cocaine or, most horrifically, as prostitution dens to pimp out women and children.

However, DailyMail.com can reveal that this apartment invasion is just the tip of the iceberg, with at least three additional rental properties also occupied by the criminal organization.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK
The gang's exploits in the Big Apple have garnered much media attention, with two TdA mobsters charged over beating New York City police officers earlier this year.

The gang has been found to have taken part in cell phone thefts on mopeds, participated in thefts at stores, and have sold a pink, powdery drug known as Tusi, according to the New York Times.

As of September, the police had officially identified 24 Tren de Aragua members in the five boroughs, with the department explaining individuals had to self-identify as being part of the criminal network in order to be counted.

'Do we think that there's only 24 TDA members in New York City? That would be silly,' Chief Joseph Kenny told the publication. 'Obviously there are more.'

Just days ago, NYPD warned of the gang's growing power in Gotham.

'Right now what we have, I like to call a "perfect storm" of sorts. We have individuals, tremendously brazen, absolutely ruthless individuals that have committed a multitude of crimes with basically no repercussions,' NYPD Assistant Chief Jason Savino of the detective bureau told Fox 5.

'What started out as a robbery crew...20 individuals arrested for upwards of 50 robberies. Out of those 20 individuals, every single one of them is on the streets today.'

Savino went on to explain how the notoriously clever and adaptable crime ring is recruiting kids to do their dirty work because minors face little or no legal consequences if caught.

TdA is operating mostly in Times Square with a splinter group called 'Los Diablos de la 42' (or the devils of 42nd Street in Spanish) setting up shop on 42nd Street.

SAMFORD, CONNECTICUT
A motel murder has been pinned on TdA in a wealthy enclave of Connecticut that's considered a New York City suburb.

Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias, 24, and Moises Alejandro Condollo-Urbaneja, 22, have been accused of shooting Angel Samaniego, 59, at a Super 8 Hotel before fleeing the state, reported Fox News.

Investigators arrested them at a train station in New York State where they were traveling with their two children aged three and one.

ATHENS, GEORGIA
The man accused of killing a Georgia nursing college student has also been linked to the criminal enterprise TdA.

Jose Ibarra, 26, is charged in the death of the Laken Riley, 22, who was beaten to death while out running on the University of Georgia campus in February.

It is unclear if TdA is active in other parts of the Peach State but officials are concerned.

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WISCONSIN
Unexpectedly, TdA has also popped up in the northern state of Wisconsin, where police said they are 'confident' a gang member beat and sexually assaulted a woman in September.

Alejandro Jose Coronel Zarate, 26 of Venezuela, found his way to the small town of Prairie du Chien, about two hours outside of Madison, Wisconsin, when he went to spend time with the woman he later assaulted.

'Based on our investigation, we can confirm that Mr. Coronel Zarate entered the United States in September of 2023 at or near the El Paso, TX point of entry,' the cops said.

'Since that time, he has been arrested in Minneapolis, MN on November 17, 2023, for receiving stolen property. He was charged with Strangulation/Suffocation, False Imprisonment, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct in Dane County, WI on December 1, 2023.'

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
Venezuela's most infamous export has been operating in Chicago since October 2023, according to NewsNation.

Described as a 'new threat developing amongst the newly arriving immigrant community,' the professional criminals have followed the thousands of law-abiding Venezuelans who have made the Windy City their final destination.

TdA is known to hide among its own law-abiding, asylum-seeking countrymen - not just to blend in, but to also exploit their own people.

MIAMI, FLORIDA
In South Florida, two Venezuelan migrants who police believe have TdA allegiance are accused of killing a former Venezuelan police officer in a Miami surbub.

Authorities claimed Yurwin Salazar and Julio César Hernández Montero lured victim Jose Luis Sanchez-Valera, 43, to a hotel where he met with a woman last November.

Surveillance video showed Sanchez-Valera left the hotel. But then three men were seen following him in another car before forcing him from the driver's seat and into the back seat of his SUV.

The next day, Sanchez-Valera's blood-splattered SUV was found on the side of the road.

OTHER TEXAS CITIES
In Dallas, a violent home invasion has been linked to TdA where a woman was pistol-whipped and threatened with having her fingers cut off if she didn't show armed goons where her valuables were stashed.

Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, is one of four men police in Texas believe took part in the September 21 home invasion.

He illegally entered the country near El Paso in March without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by an immigration officer, Immigration and Customs Enforcement told DailyMail.com.

In Houston, state police announced the arrest of confirmed gangster Jorgenys Robertson Cava, 32, earlier this year.

Local cops have also been working to establish whether the brutal murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray is tied to the group.

Houston also has a large Venezuelan population concentrated in the Katy suburb, which has earned it the nickname 'Katyzuela.'

In the Lone Star State, there is legal threshold for anyone to be classified as a gang member by the cops, with police around the state stating that simply having tattoos associated with a group is not enough.

Texas has offered $5,000 to anyone with information on gang members.

Reports can be made anonymously by calling Texas Crime Stoppers at 800-252-TIPS or on the Texas Department of Public Safety website, according to the department's social media accounts.

Illegal migrant suffocated Syracuse woman, 21, he'd known since childhood on her birthday
2024-06-28

[NYPOST] A migrant from Ecuador who entered the US illegally is accused of suffocating a 21-year-old Syracuse woman on her birthday and then burying her body in a shallow grave in an upstate New York park, authorities said.

Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis, 21, is charged with killing Joselyn Jhoana Toaquiza, a fellow Ecuadorian, after arranging to meet the victim for her birthday at his Airbnb in Syracuse on June 18, the Post-Standard reported. The pair, who are believed to have attended elementary school together in Ecuador, were captured on surveillance cameras entering the rental property just before 4:30 pm., cops said.

Just hours later, Chacaguasay-Ilbis allegedly re-emerged with a limp Toaquiza draped across his back — with her arms and legs wrapped around him — before carrying her body to a park opposite the Airbnb.

He allegedly buried her in the shallow grave and then hightailed it on a Greyhound bus back to his residence in Rockland County’s Spring Valley, according to cops.

Toaquiza’s remains weren’t discovered until Saturday after her family reported her missing.

The accused killer was slapped with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse charges after eventually turning himself in to cops late Tuesday.

He was arraigned Thursday in Syracuse City Court, where he claimed, via a Spanish interpreter, that he had zero recollection of the alleged slaying because he was too drunk.

Chacaguasay-Ilbis was picked up by US Border Patrol agents in January 2023 after illegally crossing the border in El Paso, Texas, a Homeland Security source told The Post.

Because there wasn’t enough space to hold him, he was released into the US with a tracking device.

The victim’s relatives said she had immigrated to the US last year. It wasn’t immediately clear, though, what the young woman’s immigration status was.

Youth pastor, foster parent arrested for human trafficking in Florida
2023-02-20
[NYPOST] Two Florida men were arrested for human trafficking after allegedly soliciting minors for sexual activity on social media, according to officials.

Moises Escoto, a 36-year-old youth pastor, and Joel Lutz, a 38-year-old registered foster parent, were arrested in connection with a human trafficking investigation, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said its human trafficking team launched an investigation after a mother reported finding disturbing content on her 16-year-old’s phone.

Investigators discovered that Escoto contacted the victim two years ago on a chat and meetup app called Sniffies. Since initially making contact with the teenager, Escoto allegedly solicited sexually explicit pictures and videos in exchange for money and gifts.

Escoto was also secretly meeting with the victim and engaging in sexual acts, Sherlocks said. He was a youth pastor at Iglesia de Cristo Misionera Mahanaim Church. He was arrested on Feb. 9.

During the investigation, deputies found that Lutz had engaged in sexual acts with a minor he also found on the Sniffies app in exchange for money. Lutz was arrested on Feb. 15 at his job at Outback Steakhouse.

The US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York announces that it has unsealed a Brooklyn federal court indictment against Moises Luis Zagala Gonzalez on charges of attempted computer intrusions and conspiracy to commit computer intrusions.

"The multi-tasking doctor treated patients, created and named his cyber tool after death, profited from a global ransomware ecosystem in which he sold the tools for conducting ransomware attacks, trained the attackers about how to extort victims and then boasted about successful attacks, including by malicious actors associated with the government of Iran," US Attorney Breon Peace says in a statement.

Zagala used a number of online aliases, including "Nosophoros," "Aesculapius" and "Nebuchadnezzar" — the Babylonian king who conquered Jerusalem in 597 BCE.

The Justice Department says Zagala publicly discussed his awareness that his clients used his Thanos ransomware, even linking to a news story about the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps contractor "MuddyWater’s" cyberattack on Israeli companies ClearSky and Profero.

The two firms said at the time that they identified and thwarted the attacks before any harm could be inflicted, but were raising an alarm to the methods used, indicating that they could have been employed in earlier hacking attacks that might have gone unnoticed.

Two Dead as Fire Ravages Spanish Warehouse Housing Migrants
2020-12-12
[AnNahar] A fire destroyed a warehouse occupied by migrants colonists near Barcelona killing at least two people and injuring 19, including several who jumped from the building to escape the flames, Spanish officials said Thursday.

The blaze broke out at around 9:00 pm (2000 GMT) on Wednesday in an industrial area of Badalona, a Barcelona suburb, where up to 200 migrants colonists lived in squalid conditions, according to Badalona city hall.

Firefighters said they had so far found two bodies but could not rule out that more fatalities since they have not been able to enter the three-story building which had been occupied by squatters for years.

The blaze has been brought under control but firefighters were working to stabilise the structure of the warehouse to safely enter it and look for anyone who may be trapped inside, fire chief David Borrell told news hounds at the scene.

"We are trying to determine if there are any sign that there are more people or not," he said.

At least 19 people were maimed, including seven seriously, Catalonia's civil protection agency said in a tweet.

Some people were hurt after jumping from the building, regional health minister Alba Verges said.

Badalona mayor Xavier Garcia Albiol said the authorities had accounted for 60 people "but many escaped through the back windows and fled. Maybe more than one hundred people left."

Moises, a Moroccan man who lived in the warehouse told daily newspaper La Vanguardia the blaze was started by a candle but Catalonia regional interior minister Miquel Samper said the authorities were still investigating the cause of the blaze.

Catalonia's interim regional leader Pere Aragones said housing assistance would be offered to those who lived in the warehouse.

"This is a tragedy which comes on top of the economic misery which unfortunately many of the affected people faced," he said during an interview with Spanish public television TVE.

Most of the residents were reportedly from sub-Saharan Africa and lived by selling goods on the street or collecting scrap metal.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he was following the news "of the tragic fire in Badalona with concern."

"I am deeply sorry for the loss of human life and I am grateful for the great work of the emergency services, who have saved dozens of people from the flames," he said in a tweet.

‘Outrageous, impossible to believe': Bizarre security breaches bedevil Florida massacre school
2018-03-22
[RT] Two students at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been tossed in the clink
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for bringing knives to school. A third student was arrested and hospitalized after making threats while brandishing an imitation firearm on Snapchat.

Jordan Salter, 18, reportedly poured a bowl of cereal on another student's head after he made a sexual comment to her friend. Salter then "reached inside of her bra and pulled out a 2 inch knife" when the boy attempted to lean in close to her, according to an arrest form seen by CBS News. She was arrested Tuesday morning.

Gavin Stricker, 19, was arrested later that afternoon for allegedly brandishing a knife on the school bus Monday afternoon. "A nine inch knife was found in his backpack. Stricker was placed into custody and transported to JARC," Broward County Sheriff’s office wrote in his arrest form. Stricker has been released from the Juvenile Assessment Center and is scheduled to appear at a court hearing on April 23.

Another unnamed student "was removed from class for posting pictures on Snapchat depicting a handgun in his waistband and numerous bullets." Broward County Sheriff's office said the student claimed it was a picture "of a BB gun and the bullets were his father's."

"In one image, the teen displays a gun in his waistband. In a second image, he shows off bullets," BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said. "The detective said both photos had threatening messages."

The teen was hospitalized with self-inflicted wounds to his left arm and is due to be booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center once he’s discharged from hospital. The student reportedly used ’NickCruz’ as his gaming profile in the popular online multiplayer shooter 'Fortnite' ‐ a reference to the perpetrator of the Parkland massacre in which 17 people were killed and a further 17 injured on February 14. Cruz is facing the death penalty.

RT.com has contacted Broward County Sheriff’s office for additional information.

To make matters worse, Deputy Moises Carotti was suspended after being found sleeping in his patrol car by a student Monday.

"Of all the schools in America, you would think this would be the safest one right now. This is so outrageous it's almost impossible to believe," Florida Senator Marco Rubio
The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida...
said of the deputy's suspension on Tuesday.

"That a deputy was sleeping is incredibly disappointing. As you know, I can’t comment on an ongoing internal affairs investigation, but once the findings are in I will make the appropriate decisions regarding the way we are going to handle it and the level of discipline," Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said, as cited by The Sun Sentinel.

Zachary Cruz, brother of the Parkland shooter Nikolas, was also arrested for trespassing on school grounds. He has trespassed on school grounds three times since the shooting The Palm Beach Post reports.

State prosecutor Sarahnell Murphy originally asked for Zachary Cruz's bail to be set at $750,000 (the standard bond for trespassing is $25), stating, "He has all the same flags present as his brother." Cruz also must wear an ankle monitor and must stay at least 500ft away from any school or daycare center.

In yet another bizarre turn of events, a woman was arrested and charged with arson after driving a car with "accelerants" into a Broward County Sheriff’s office building.

More Mayhem in the mountains of Sinaloa and Durango
2013-01-27

For a map, click here. For a map of Durango state, click here

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

At least five individuals have been killed in drug related violence in the border area between Sinaloa and Durango state since last Sunday according to Mexican news accounts.

A news report posted on the website of El Siglo de Durango news daily said shootouts in Dan Dimas and Corcordia municipalities have paralyzed some areas. The shootouts were described in the article as alleged since the Sinaloa Fiscalia General del Estado (FGE), or state attorney general, Marco Antonio Higuera Gomez, has yet to report on any incident.

The article said that a rumor of a shootout near the village of Los Angeles, which is about 30 minutes from Concordia had been going around in the municipality since last week. Reaction from residents has been to pull children from school zone Zona Escolar 046.

The president of Concordia municipality, José Eligio Medina Rios in a press interview dismissed reports of any shootouts, and claimed communications with officials from San Dimas municipality ruled out any shootout.

However, a report which appeared last Thursday in El Siglo de Torreon news daily said that at least five individuals have been killed in shootings in the mountain region near Concordia since last week.

Last week three unidentified men were found shot to death in a Hummer SUV in the village of La Petaca in Concordia municipality. Three more unidentified individuals were reportedly shot to death in the village of La Escondida, also in Concordia.

The El Siglo de Torreon report also said that a shootout between drug gang members, presumably members of the Pacifico cartel, and a Mexican Army unit took place in the border area of Sinaloa and Durango states between Sanalona municipality in Sinaloa and Tamazula municipality Durango, which claimed the life of one unidentified individual and wounded two others. The report went on to claim that the unidentified nephew of the late drug capo Ignacio Coronel was among the wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

The source claiming the shootout was identified as Moises Melo, or General de Division Moises Melo Garcia, the recently promoted commander of the Mexican 9th Military Zone.

Residents of Concordia municipality are understandably nervous. Last Christmas Eve 14 individuals were murdered in El Platanar Ontiveros in Concordia municipality by a local drug gang after a Mexican Army unit posted in the village had left the village undefended to go on a counternarcotics operation.

San Dimas municipality has seen its share of drug related violence in the last two years, where several homes had been torched as a punitive measure by drug gangs.

Also, several drug and gang related shootings have been reported in Sinaloa state in Los Mochis, Culican well to the north and in the port city of Mazatlan.
