Newly declassified Crossfire Hurricane docs shine light on Steele, Clinton, and more
2025-04-13 | |
Newly-declassified FBI documents shine new light on the FBI’s mishandling of its relationship with anti-Trump dossier author Christopher Steele, on the FBI’s double standards on defensive briefings given to Trump and Hillary Clinton, and other key elements of the debunked collusion saga. Just the News already revealed on Thursday that declassified documents show that Stefan Halper, a key FBI informant in the widely-debunked Russia collusion case, was paid nearly $1.2 million over three decades and was motivated in part by "monetary compensation" — and that he continued snitching for the bureau even after agents concluded he told them an inaccurate story about future Trump National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. And Just the News also revealed on Friday that the newly-released documents showed that then-NSA director Mike Rogers shot down a Pultizer Prize award-winning Washington Post article about the baseless Russian collusion investigation. And a new review of hundreds of pages of declassified documents provides new information about the politicized Russiagate scandal — although significant redactions still remain. This week, FBI Director Kash Patel transmitted to Congress hundreds of pages of declassified documents from the bureau’s "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation related to false claims about Trump-Russia collusion, following a declassification executive order from President Donald Trump last month. Just the News made all 700 pages from the declassified binder available to the public on Thursday. An investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller “did not establish” any criminal Trump-Russia collusion. DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz found huge flaws with the FBI’s investigation, criticizing the“central and essential” role of the dossier in the FBI’s politicized surveillance of former Trump campaign associate Carter Page. Special counsel John Durham’s report concluded that “neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.” ADMIRAL MIKE ROGERS AND THE STEELE DOSSIER Admiral Mike Rogers, who retired in 2018 after four years as National Security Agency chief and commander of U.S. Cyber Command, previously expressed a certain level of skepticism about the U.S. intelligence community’s 2017 assessment of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election — and a newly declassified interview Rogers gave to the FBI later in 2017 shines light on the dim view Rogers had of British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s discredited dossier. “ADM Rogers decided that he would make the final analytic call on the NSA’s input to the ICA as he knew there would be a lot of pressure and attention on the final draft and he felt strongly his career analysts shouldn’t have to be responsible for something under such political pressure. In one draft of the ICA, ADM Rogers noted the contents of the ‘Steele dossier’ in the body of the product, which he did not recall seeing in previous drafts,” FBI notes dated June 17, 2017 state. “In early January, the four principals met and ADM Rogers told the group he was unclear why the ICA needed to focus on the dossier as it was considered largely uncorroborated. Comey responded that the information was relevant and ADM Rogers suggested the information be included in an annex or appendix rather than prominently in the nearly one-page summary he had seen.” Rogers and Comey, along with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan, briefed President-elect Trump about their election meddling findings at Trump Tower in January 2017. Comey stayed behind to tell Trump about some of the dossier’s more salacious allegations. Steele told the FBI in October 2017 that he was “frustrated” by his dossier’s inclusion in an annex to the ICA. The FBI agent who recounted the interview with Steele wrote, “They brought up the inclusion of their material in the ICA annex multiple times – almost to the point that it felt like fishing for information about how the ICA was constructed. In the end, I made the point that I wasn’t going to get into how the ICA was put together, how the annex came about, etc.” The Steele dossier annexed to the ICA was largely declassified in 2020, and it relayed some of Steele’s baseless collusion claims: “The most politically-sensitive claims by the FBI source [Steele] alleged a close relationship between the President-elect and the Kremlin. The source also claimed that the President-elect and his top campaign advisers knowingly worked with Russian officials to bolster his chances of beating Secretary Clinton; were fully knowledgeable of Russia’s direction of leaked Democratic emails; and were offered financial compensation from Moscow.” VARYING ASSESSMENTS FROM INTELLIGENCE SERVICES The 2017 intelligence assessment concluded with “high confidence” that Russia worked to “undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate former Secretary of State Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency” and “developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.” The NSA diverged on one aspect, expressing only “moderate confidence” that Putin actively tried to help Trump’s election chances and harm those of Clinton. “I wouldn’t call it a discrepancy. I’d call it an honest difference of opinion between three different organizations,” Rogers told the Senate in 2017. “It didn’t have the same level of sourcing and the same level of multiple sources.” A 2018 report from the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee concluded that “the majority of the Intelligence Community Assessment judgments on Russia’s election activities employed proper analytic tradecraft” but found the “judgments on Putin’s strategic intentions did not.” Related: Crossfire Hurricane: 2025-04-11 Newly declassified FBI memos detail concerns, payments to Russia collusion informant Crossfire Hurricane: 2025-03-28 Don Surber: Trump unleashes the crossfire hurricane Crossfire Hurricane: 2025-02-20 Breaking: Kash Konfirmed! FBI Director Kash Patel starts purge of 'undercover' James Comey agents who 'infiltrated' Trump's... |
2025-02-26 |
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The FBI is beginning an investigation into an alleged accusation against former FBI director James Comey, after a whistleblower accused him of using female 'honeypot' agents to infiltrate the Trump campaign. An agency whistleblower revealed details of the scheme, accusing Comey of launching an off-the-books investigation into Trump's campaign in 2015, according to Washington Times reporter Kerry Picket. Details of the operation was revealed in a protected disclosure to the House Judiciary Committee in 2024, according to the Times. Two female FBI undercover agents were drafted to infiltrate Trump's 2016 campaign as 'honeypots' the report noted. The term 'Honeypots' refers to undercover agents feigning romantic interest with individuals within an organization to gain access from a specific target. The whistleblower said in the disclosure that Comey 'personally knew' and 'personally directed' the operation even though it was off the books. Comey was assisted by then-Deputy Director Dave Bowdich and Paul Abbate, according to the disclosure. The undercover agents allegedly targeted campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, who was the focus of Comey's early efforts to scrutinize the Trump operation. The FBI declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com about the story. The news suggests that Patel will pursue investigations of past officials who targeted Trump within the FBI, even though he indicated he had no interest in doing so during his Senate confirmation hearings. 'I have no interest, no desire and will not, if confirmed, go backwards,' Patel said during his Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing. 'There will be no politicization at the FBI. There will be no retributive actions taken.' Trump wants pardoned real estate developer Charles Kushner to be ambassador to France |
2024-12-01 |
Tells you what Trump thinks of France, Ambassador is a pardoned criminal AND a Joooo? Suck on it, Macron. [10News and Ay-Pee] President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday that he wants real estate developer Charles Kushner, father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, to serve as ambassador to France. Trump made the announcement in a Truth Social post, calling Charles Kushner "a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker." Kushner is the founder of Kushner Companies, a real estate firm. Jared Kushner is a former senior Trump adviser who is married to Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka. The elder Kushner was pardoned by Trump in December 2020 after pleading guilty years earlier to tax evasion and making illegal campaign donations. Prosecutors alleged that after Charles Kushner discovered his brother-in-law was cooperating with federal authorities in an investigation, he hatched a scheme for revenge and intimidation Kushner hired a prostitute to lure his brother-in-law, then arranged to have the encounter in a New Jersey motel room recorded with a hidden camera and the recording sent to his own sister, the man’s wife, prosecutors said. Kushner eventually pleaded guilty to 18 counts including tax evasion and witness tampering. He was sentenced in 2005 to two years in prison — the most he could receive under a plea deal, but less than what Chris Christie, the U.S. attorney for New Jersey at the time and later governor and Republican presidential candidate, had sought. Christie has blamed Jared Kushner for his firing from Trump’s transition team in 2016, and has called Charles Kushner’s offenses "one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes that I prosecuted when I was U.S. attorney." Sure. Have a donut, you POS Trump and the elder Kushner knew each other from real estate circles and their children were married in 2009. FBI, DHS leaders decline to testify publicly about threats facing US |
2024-11-22 |
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] FBI Director Christopher Wray and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday declined to appear publicly before a U.S. Senate committee to discuss national security threats, provoking the ire of the panel's Democratic chairman. In a statement, Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Gary Peters called their refusal to publicly testify a "shocking departure" that runs counter to 15 years of precedent. "Their choice to not provide public testimony about their departments´ efforts to address wide-ranging national security threats robs the American people of critical information and the opportunity for public accountability of what the federal government is doing to keep Americans safe," Peters said in a statement. In a statement, the FBI said the bureau remains "committed to sharing information about the continuously evolving threat environment facing our nation," but that the FBI believes the committee "would benefit most from further substantive discussions and additional information that can only be provided in a classified setting." A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Traditionally for more than a decade, top officials from the FBI, DHS and the National Counterterrorism Center have appeared publicly before both the House and Senate homeland security committees to discuss threats facing the United States. Earlier this week, the House Homeland Security Committee announced that its own hearing on the subject, featuring Wray and Mayorkas as witnesses, was being postponed until December. These hearings would have marked the first time that Wray and Mayorkas appeared before Congress since Republican Donald Trump won the election on Nov. 5. Trump has vowed to shake up both agencies once he takes office on Jan. 20. Americans Can't Trust Mike Rogers To Give The FBI The Reckoning It Needs |
2024-11-21 |
With Trump set to return to the White House this coming January, many Americans are hoping the soon-to-be 47th president will replace FBI Director Christopher Wray — who has presided over these scandals — with someone willing to gut the corruption that’s plagued the agency for years. While no official nomination has been made, one potential candidate allegedly up for the job should cause major concern for those wishing for a complete overhaul of the agency. On Friday, sources reportedly told Fox News that 2024 Michigan GOP Senate candidate and former Rep. Mike Rogers met with Trump’s transition team at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday about "potentially serving as FBI director in the former and future president’s second administration." Rogers, who worked at the FBI for several years before serving in Congress (2001-2015), was previously under consideration for the position during Trump’s first administration after the president fired then-Director James Comey. The Michigan Republican also served as chair of the House Intelligence Committee from 2011-2015. While Rogers regularly cast himself as an "America First" candidate willing to buck the establishment during his failed Senate bid, the Michigan Republican has spent his entire political career empowering the very federal agencies being weaponized against the American people. According to The Detroit News, Rogers assisted in writing (and voted for) the Patriot Act, a law passed after the 9/11 terrorist attacks that’s enabled the federal government to conduct warrantless surveillance against unsuspecting Americans. Speaking in defense of the legislation in a 2005 NPR interview, the then-congressman claimed, "No due process is subjugated in the Patriot Act, not one iota." Slotkin wins over Mike Rogers in tight Michigan Senate race to hold seat for Democrats |
2024-11-07 |
Slotkin won by a thin margin, securing 48.6% of the vote compared to Rogers’s 48.3%, according to the Associated Press. Her victory, called Wednesday afternoon, continues a streak of Democratic dominance in statewide races. No Republican has won a Michigan Senate seat since 1994. In this case, a win for Slotkin is a win for republicans and the nation. It also denies Republicans additional breathing room in a chamber they will control next year. Slotkin will replace retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), a titan of Michigan politics who rose to Senate Democrats’ No. 3 leadership post. Michigan had one of the only competitive Senate races without an incumbent this cycle, making it a top target for Senate Republicans. In the final days of the campaign alone, the leading super PACs for each party spent almost $20 million on advertising in the state. Unfortunately, we also know during the November 2012 Thanksgiving holiday a mysterious fire took place in that building. Well, actually directly above her exact office – cause undetermined. A “fire” which preceded an unfortunate slip and fall for the Secretary, resulting in a concussion, which led to the discovery of a blood clot, that ultimately delayed her congressional testimony before a Senate Hearing into the events of the night in question. We know the Libyan uprising began on February 10th of 2011, and we also know that sometime around the end of February 2011 President Obama signed a presidential directive authorizing the State Dept and CIA to begin a covert operation to arm the Libyan “rebels”. We also know of a Second Presidential Finding Memo authorizing additional CIA covert action in 2012, this time in Syria. However, unlike the 2011 Libyan operation, we do not know the operational name of the second action in 2012 (Syria). We know the Libyan “rebels” were positioned in two strategic places. Benghazi, and the port city of Darnah, both located in Northeastern Libya. We know this 2011 Libyan covert operation came to be known as “Operation Zero Footprint“. We know Secretary Clinton and CIA head Panetta were the primary sponsors for the joint State Dept./CIA approach; and we know that specifically because of a U.N. Security Council resolution (unattended by Ambassador Susan Rice) the operation fell under the military command authority of NATO not (important to repeat), NOT, the U.S. Military. We know by the time operation “Zero Footprint” began, AFRICOM commander General Carter Ham was removed from OPSEC oversight in the Libyan campaign, and NATO commander Admiral James G. Stavridis was in charge. Stavridis was the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) at the time of the Libyan uprising. He retired as SACEUR in 2013 In 2011, 57-year-old Stavridis was the perfect pick for NATO Libyan intervention considering he is the son of Turkish immigrants. Turkey played a key role in what might be the most politically dangerous aspect of the events to the White House once the goals changed to redirection of the weapons from Operation Zero Footprint. We know Operation Zero Footprint was the covert transfer of weapons from the U.S to the Libyan “rebels”. We also know the operation avoided the concerns with congressional funding, and potential for public scrutiny, through financing by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We also know that officials within the government of Qatar served as the intermediaries for the actual transfer of the weapons, thereby removing the footprint of the U.S. intervention. We know the entire operation was coordinated and controlled by the State Department and CIA. We also know (from the Senate Foreign Relations Benghazi hearings) that “Zero Footprint” was unknown to the 2011 Pentagon, and/or DoD commanders who would have been tasked with any military response to the 9/11/12 attack – namely AFRICOM General Carter Ham. However, it would be implausible to think that then Defense Secretary Bob Gates or Joint Chiefs Chair Admiral McMullen were completely unaware of the operation. Even today, despite the numerous hearings and reports, this aspect remains murky. Both Defense Secretary Gates and Joint Chiefs Chair McMullen were in place when Operation Zero Footprint began. However, both retired from their jobs in Sept of 2011, and were replaced by Leon Panetta and Martin Dempsey respectively. Leon Panetta was CIA Director at the beginning of Operation Zero Footprint (March 2011) and was replaced by CIA Director David Petraeus in the fall of 2011 as Panetta replaced Bob Gates and became Secretary of Defense. However, Panetta (now as Def Sec) and JC Martin Dempsey were the two who initially briefed President Obama on the night of Sept 11th 2012. This is an important fact to remember – because of his previous CIA role in constructing Zero Footprint, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta definitely had knowledge of the intents of the joint State Dept/CIA mission in Benghazi, Martin Dempsey may not have. We know the White House appears to have followed “The Intelligence Oversight Act of 1980” in informing the congressional “Gang of Eight” of Zero Footprint. The Gang of Eight in 2011 would have included: Speaker – John Boehner, Minority Leader – Nancy Pelosi; House Permanent Select Committee on Intel Chairman – Mike Rogers, and his Democrat counterpart Charles Ruppersberger; Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid; along with Senate Intel Chair Diane Feinstein and her Republican counterpart, Saxby Chambliss. From Hillary interviews we also know the White House liaison for Secretary Clinton and CIA Director Leon Panetta during Operation Zero Footprint was National Security Advisor To the President, Tom Donilon. With this information we can assemble a cast of people “IN THE KNOW” of Operation Zero Footprint on two specific date blocks. March 2011 through Pre 9/11/12 attack – and – Post 9/11/12 attack forward.

Migrant controversy hits heartland as Alabama council meeting boils over, state officials slam feds' 'mess' |
2024-09-10 |
[FoxNews] State Rep Benjamin Robbins, who represents the city, demands federal response from Mayorkas Residents of a small Alabama city were up in arms at the migrant influx during a recent city council hearing that lawmakers suddenly cut short amid the outcry. Meanwhile, state leaders demanded answers from the feds as the migrants appear to be in the country legally under Temporary Protective Status provisions extended to Haitian nationals by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. In Sylacauga, just south of NASCAR’s Talladega Superspeedway, City Council President Tiffany Nix abruptly curtailed public comment as residents demanded accountability for the at least 50 migrants that appeared in the city. "We’re done," Nix responded to resident David Phillips, who had criticized council’s attitude as "entirely unacceptable" during the meeting last week. "[Haiti is] a failed state – their president (Jovenel Moise) was assassinated in 2021 – there is no way the State Department can vet these individuals," Phillips said before Nix cut in as another resident called out, "Please let him talk." State Rep. Benjamin Robbins, who represents the city, wrote a letter Thursday to Mayorkas, demanding a federal response. "As the secretary of Homeland Security, you are charged with overseeing immigration enforcement and refugee resettlement," he wrote. "Recently, my district has seen an influx of Haitian immigrants. You and your agency have failed in your responsibility to notify our community of the relocation of refugees, provide any information to local leaders or answer questions." Robbins said the situation has caused "panic and confusion" and left local leaders "helpless." Robbins said he would demand Congress investigate if DHS does nothing. Sylacauga Mayor Jim Heigl separately told Alabama’s 1819 News that information the migrants were in his city legally "came out from [Gov. Kay Ivey’s] office and also came from Mike Rogers’ office, [Sen.] Katie Britt’s office and [Sen. Tommy] Tuberville’s office. Alabama House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter added his biggest concern is the lack of information from the feds on the migrants already inside the state. "We have asked repeatedly," said Ledbetter, R-Rainsville. "Once they are here, communities like Sylacauga and Albertville are left to deal with the disaster. Our schools don’t have the ESL resources to support the immigrant children, housing these people is an issue, crime is an issue, and the federal government has offered zero support whatsoever." Tuberville told Fox News Digital the feds are abusing their parole authority, which he said is supposed to be used sparingly and only for humanitarian purposes. Instead, he said the administration is using it as a tool of "mass amnesty to millions of people." "We have no idea who most of these people are," Tuberville said. ![]() The Squad is now a little less Squaddy. And that's a good thing. Original Article: All right, y'all, it's Tuesday night, and you know what that means. Primary time! This week, we have contests in four states: Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Washington. I was secretly hoping that Kansas would have a lot of races to write about because I wanted to pepper them with references to Kansas the band in honor of my friend Kerry Livgren, one of the founding members. Kansas only has House and Senate races today, along with state legislative primaries, so it's probably for the best that I don't carry on past the point of know return. Kansas has four congressional districts. Only in the 2nd District is there a Democrat primary; the other districts have Democrats running unopposed. On the GOP side, the 2nd District features a crowded field. I can't say who will win; after all, if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know. In Michigan, the Senate race includes heavy favorites in each party. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) should walk away with the Democratic nomination, while Mike Rogers should handily win the GOP contest. One of the most fascinating House races will be the 8th District, where a wide open field is attempting to fill the seat that Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.) is vacating. The GOP is looking to flip the seat, while a tight race of Democrats will fight to keep the seat blue. Missouri gives us a chance to knock off a member of the Squad; in the 1st District, Wesley Bell may end Rep. Cori Bush's (D-Mo.) career, which would be schadenfreudelicious. The state has several statewide races going on today as well. Both parties' races for governor feature crowded fields with only two or three real contenders on either side. In the Senate primary, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) runs unopposed, while a slew of Democrats are vying to unseat him. Progressive Lucas Kunce is the heavy favorite to win the Democratic primary. Here's what's most interesting about Washington's primaries: the state does jungle primaries where the top two advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation. You can imagine how this will look in districts that favor one party heavily. In addition to House and Senate contests, Washington has several statewide races taking place today. Polls close in Missouri at 8 p.m. Eastern. In Kansas and Michigan, most polls will close at 8 p.m. Eastern, although some close at 9 p.m. In Washington, polls close at 11 p.m. Eastern, but many of the votes will arrive by mail, which means that totals will be slower to come in. Once again, our partners at Decision Desk HQ have provided us with the most up-to-date results, which you'll see below. Former President Trump endorses ex-congressman Mike Rogers for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat |
2024-03-12 |
The Memory Hole spits one back. [Just The News] Former President Donald Trump on Monday endorsed ex-congressman Mike Rogers for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat in a crowded race. Trump posted on his Truth Social account Monday, "Highly respected former Congressman Mike Rogers is running for the United States Senate from the Great State of Michigan. Mike has served his Country during a career loaded up with accolades and wins, from the Army to Congress, and now, hopefully, the U.S. Senate. "Mike will work closely with me to enact our America First Policies," Trump continued. "He will tirelessly fight to Secure the Border, Stop Inflation, Grow the Economy, Strengthen our Military / Veteran Support, and Protect and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment. Mike Rogers will be a Great and Powerful Senator for Michigan, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement. HE KNOWS HOW TO WIN!" Rogers left Congress in 2015. He's backed by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He knows where the bodies are buried. What else could we do ? According to an MRG poll late last month, Rogers is leading former Rep. Peter Meijer, R-Mich., by 16 percentage points. Meijer voted to impeach Trump in 2021. Former Rep. Justin Amash, who left the GOP to become an independent in 2019, has announced his Republican candidacy for the Senate seat last month, according to The Hill. Linked in the title [Korrespondent] 22:57 The US Department of Defense does not have reliable evidence that American weapons transferred to Ukraine fell into third hands, said Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder. At the same time, he added that the United States “sees how Russia is constantly trying to spread disinformation to the contrary.” ![]() 22:33 The United States has stopped supplying weapons and military equipment to Ukraine due to a lack of budgetary funds for such programs, said White House National Security Council coordinator John Kirby: “Yes. However, he did not specify when this happened. “We destroyed 26 helicopters in 24 hours. Twelve aircraft that were taking off, which then fired missiles, against which these systems worked. We destroyed 12 at a time. It was just something.” Journalists suggest that regarding helicopters, the president probably had in mind the attacks on the airfields of Lugansk and Berdyansk with ATACMS missiles on October 18. And regarding the destruction of 12 aircraft at a time, we are probably talking about an attack on the airfield in Saki. 20:36 The Pentagon said in its report that military aid to Ukraine was poorly monitored and controlled, writes BBC News. The US Defense Department inspector general found that agency officials and diplomats in Washington and Europe failed to quickly or fully account for all of the nearly 40,000 weapons sent to Ukraine. The report said U.S. officials did not properly track more than $1 billion worth of man-portable missile systems, kamikaze drones and night vision equipment. However, the document does not contain evidence that any weapons were used for other purposes. 20:27 Among all electronic components imported by the Russian Federation for the production of weapons, 44% are developed by Western companies, according to a report by the Kiev School of Economics and the McFaul-Ermak group. We are mainly talking about products from American brands Intel, Analog Devices, AMD and Texas Instruments. At the same time, the German Siemens is the leader among suppliers of numerically controlled machine tools. Analysts note that most military components are produced at these companies' factories in third countries such as China, making it easier for the Russians to build sanctions-busting schemes. 20:23 The United States introduced new sanctions against Russia - in particular, the Ashuluksky training ground and the Vladimir advanced military research complex were subject to restrictions, the US Ministry of Finance reported. The United States also introduced restrictions against the general director of the State Airline 224th Separate Aviation Detachment, Vladimir Mikheychik, which is a subsidiary of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In addition, the United States imposed sanctions against three Russian Il-76MD heavy military transport aircraft. 19:58 The House of Moscow in Riga will be transferred to the ownership of Latvia, after which the funds will be transferred to Ukraine, said the country's President Edgars Rinkevichs. He added that “other Russian assets” are also planned to be used to help Ukraine. Regarding military assistance, Rinkevičs pointed out, in particular, the possibility of producing “cheap drones in Latvia, which are very effective and so necessary for the Ukrainian military.” According to him, Latvia leads a “coalition of drones” within the Ramstein format. In addition, it is possible to purchase 155-mm caliber ammunition for Ukraine. Rinkevičs also said that Latvia has prepared the next package of military assistance for Ukraine, which will include, in particular, self-propelled howitzers, ammunition for artillery systems, anti-tank and anti-aircraft systems and ammunition for them, off-road vehicles, drones, communications equipment, generators, winter uniforms and Dr. Rinkevichas emphasized that the package was formed based on the current needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In addition, Latvia plans to train 3,000 Ukrainian military personnel by 2024 and will continue rehabilitation projects for Ukrainian military and border guards. 19:24 The Ministry of Defense has already prepared a new version of the draft law on mobilization, and soon it will be submitted for approval by the government, said the head of the department, Rustem Umerov. He emphasized that the military needs rest, those released from captivity have a choice whether to remain in the army, and conscripts need to return home. The new edition includes all proposals agreed upon with deputies at meetings of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, the minister added. 19:15 Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin confirmed that Russia has already used missiles from the DPRK against Ukraine: “As for North Korea, the other day we received the first evidence of the use by the Russian army of missiles manufactured in this country. The results of a preliminary scientific and technical examination confirm that The missile fired at central Kharkov on January 2 is a short-range missile developed by North Korea." A comprehensive commission examination is currently underway, which should finally confirm this fact. 18:29 North Korea is turning into the main ally and supplier for Russia in the war with Ukraine. Moreover, in South Korea they say that Pyongyang will only expand the line of supplies to the aggressor. What is known about the new DPRK missiles for the Russians - in the material Main Supplier . 17:56 The operational situation in the East remains difficult, the enemy continues to attack in the Kupyansky, Limansky and Bakhmutsky directions, said the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky. In particular, the Russians are not abandoning attempts to oust Ukrainian units from the Kupyansky forest and capture Sinkovka in order to ultimately blockade Kupyansk. In the Liman direction, the enemy is trying to push Ukrainian troops beyond the Black Stallion River. Serebryansky forestry continues to be one of the areas of concentration of the main efforts of the Russian Army. In this direction, the enemy is unsuccessfully trying to attack Ukrainian positions in the directions of Dibrova, Torskoye and Dibrova, Yampol. The Russian Federation is also preparing to resume offensive operations in the Seversk direction. In the Bakhmut area, the Russians are making every effort to reach the border of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal. From the north of Bakhmut, the enemy is carrying out assault operations in the direction of Bogdanovka, trying to create favorable conditions for an attack on Chasov Yar and restore the lost position in the areas of the cascade of lakes east of Kleshcheevka and Kurdyumovka. 17:18 On February 27, the European Commission may publish an assessment of progress with Ukraine’s European integration reforms, on which the actual start of accession negotiations depends, said Radio Liberty editor for European affairs Rikard Jozwiak. 17:13 In the Belgorod region, a drone damaged an infrastructure power supply facility in the village of Tishanka, Volokonovsky district - about 50 households remain without electricity, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. 16:52 After visits to Estonia and Lithuania, Zelensky arrived in Latvia, said the country’s Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins. 16:37 Russia has used all types of weapons against Ukraine, “for now except nuclear,” said Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev: “A series of recent intensive and effective strikes on enemy military targets in Ukraine, which were carried out by the Russian Armed Forces, confirms the successful and effective work of our military-industrial complex throughout 2023. Moreover, as you know, different carriers with different contents were used, except perhaps nuclear. For now." He also stated that Ukraine’s attempts to destroy launchers on Russian territory with Western missiles would be grounds for Moscow to use nuclear weapons. 15:58 The Russians shelled Ivanovka, Kherson region - a residential building was destroyed, one person was killed, said the head of the OVA Alexander Prokudin. The Russian army also fired at residential buildings in Kherson, one person was wounded. Over the previous 24 hours, three people were injured as a result of Russian shelling in the region. 15:46 On the morning of January 10, in the Semenovskaya community of the Chernihiv region, the Russian DRG shot at a car with a civilian man, the head of the Novgorod-Severskaya RVA Sergei Sergienko told Suspilny. According to him, this happened between the villages of Gremyachka and Leonovka - from there it is 500 meters to the Russian border. The man managed to take his child on a bus to Semenovka and was returning to Kostobobrov when the enemy DRG broke through the border. 15:07 The speaker of the European Commission on defense industry issues, Johanna Bernsel, said that EU countries will be able to produce the promised million ammunition for Ukraine before the spring of this year. “European industry already has a production capacity well in excess of a million artillery shells, and we will reach this goal before spring,” she assured. The official representative of the EU foreign policy service, Peter Stano, recalled that as of the end of December, more than 300 thousand ammunition had been delivered to Ukraine, and 3,300 missiles were delivered from existing stocks. “We also have at least 180 thousand shells that have already been ordered as of the end of December, and this number is increasing according to contracts,” he added. In turn, Zelensky called on Estonia to put pressure on the EU to speed up the supply of a million ammunition to Ukraine. 14:49 Zelensky said that he “has questions” for Ukrainians of military age who illegally went abroad: “If they are of military age, then they should help Ukraine and they should be in Ukraine. And I’m not talking about that now , who should be at the front and who should not be at the front. If you are in Ukraine and you are not at the front, then you work. Wherever you work, we treat every person with respect. And if you work and pay taxes , then you also protect the state... If you are abroad and you are of conscription age, and you are not at the front and do not pay taxes, and traveled outside the law, then there are questions.” According to the president, for one Ukrainian military man “there are 6-8 taxpayers.” 14:15 Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that on January 29 he will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba in Uzhgorod to discuss preparations for the meeting between Orban and Zelensky. 14:11 Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania signed an agreement to jointly combat sea mines that have threatened shipping in the Black Sea since the start of the war in Ukraine. Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said the memorandum calls for the creation of a mine action task force between the three NATO allies to combat drifting mines. 13:26 The mobilization bill was returned for revision, said the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, following the results of a closed meeting with the military command and a conciliation council. According to him, not all provisions of the bill can be supported - “some provisions directly violate human rights, others are not optimally formulated.” 13:18 Estonia will provide assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1.2 billion euros by 2027, the country's President Alar Karis said at a press conference in Tallinn. He also emphasized that Estonia opposes restrictions on attacks on Russia with weapons that Western partners transfer to Ukraine. 13:10 In the Chechen city of Shali, for unknown reasons, the headquarters of the 70th regiment of the Russian Army completely burned down, Russian public pages write. This regiment is now fighting in the Zaporozhye region. Journalist Andrei Tsaplienko notes that foreign mercenaries, including Nepalese citizens, are actively sent to serve in this regiment. In a fire at the regiment's headquarters, all documents were allegedly burned - that is, it will now be very difficult to prove that hundreds of mercenaries from Nepal and other countries serve in the regiment. 12:59 At a press conference in Tallinn, Zelensky confirmed Russia’s use of North Korean ballistic missiles: “There are large purchases of drones and suicide bombers from Iran, and they are also negotiating missiles, until they have reached an agreement. They also received more than a million artillery shells from the North Korea, and we also saw examples of some missiles." According to the president, Russia is faced with a shortage of weapons, and therefore a pause in the war will benefit Moscow, not Kiev: “Because we understand the volumes, how many drones and artillery they produce today per day. We see what they lack, we see a large shortage of drones, both with artillery and with missiles. They do not have time. Yes, the world also does not have time to fill the warehouses of Ukraine. But the world today is helping Ukraine, and Russia has a deficit. Give a pause, take a risk, give 2-3 years "Russia - it can then run over us, we wouldn't risk it like that. And thank God that all this is being decided in Ukraine. And therefore there will definitely be no pauses in Russia's favor." 12:28 Ukraine “doesn’t have enough resources” to shoot down all Russian S-300 missiles, said Air Force Speaker Yuri Ignat: “It’s clear that we don’t have enough to shoot down the thousands of S-300 missiles that Russia now has in its warehouses.” means. Therefore, the best method is to destroy these launchers in the territory from which the missiles are launched. It is necessary to have sufficiently high-precision powerful weapons to reduce the number of those batteries, S-300 divisions, which Russia today has positioned along the front line." 11:46 North Korea may transfer new types of tactical guided missiles to Russia in addition to the proposed supply of KN-23 short-range ballistic missiles, South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik said. According to his estimates, at the end of December, the DPRK handed over to Russia about 5,000 containers with weapons, which can hold about 2.3 million 152 mm caliber shells or about 400 thousand 122 mm caliber artillery shells. The minister also expressed concern about Russia's likely provision of technological assistance for North Korea's weapons program in exchange for arms trade, including Pyongyang's spy satellite. 11:27 The Ukrainian Black Sea corridor has actually reached the pre-war volume of supplies, said Navy Speaker Dmitry Pletenchuk. “We have already crossed the bar of 500 ships and more than 10 million tons of cargo,” he noted, clarifying that the majority of cargo is Ukrainian grain. Pletenchuk emphasized that the grain agreement with Russia with the participation of Turkey is not an alternative to the trade route that was organized by Ukraine through military means. He recalled that even with the grain agreement in place, the Russian Federation also attacked the port infrastructure. 10:50 The Biden administration has supported a bill that would allow the confiscation of frozen Russian assets worth almost $300 billion and use these funds to restore Ukraine. The White House wants to coordinate this step with its G7 allies, including in Europe, where about $200 billion of frozen Russian assets are stored, Bloomberg writes. 10:41 Three committees of the US House of Representatives, led by Republicans, presented a document called the Proposed Plan for Victory in Ukraine. The document was signed by the heads of the Committees on Foreign Affairs, Michael McCall, Armed Services, Mike Rogers, and Intelligence, Mike Turner. In it, they sharply criticize the Biden administration for insufficient assistance to Ukraine and demand decisive action from him. “Biden’s mantra of supporting Ukraine as long as necessary is a losing strategy,” Republicans emphasize. They are demanding that the White House present a credible plan for victory and provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs as soon as possible. In particular, according to the authors of the document, Kyiv needs the longest-range version of ATACMS, F-16 aircraft, as well as a sufficient number of cluster munitions, artillery, air defense systems and armored vehicles to change the situation on the battlefield. In addition to providing Ukraine with weapons, Republicans are pushing for stronger sanctions against the Putin regime and the transfer of $300 billion in frozen Russian assets to Kyiv. Congressmen also emphasize the need to monitor American aid, while acknowledging that numerous audits so far have not revealed any significant irregularities. 10:25 Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 277 people have been killed as a result of explosions on explosive objects left by the enemy, and another 610 have been injured. Among the dead were 14 children, said Interior Minister Igor Klimenko. Most of the victims were in the Kharkov, Kherson and Nikolaev regions. During this time, almost 755 thousand explosive objects were neutralized, but about a third of the territory of Ukraine still remains contaminated. 09:46 Next week, the UN will ask donors for $3.1 billion for Ukraine’s humanitarian needs in 2024. "More than 14.6 million people - about 40% of Ukraine's population - are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance. Four million people, including almost one million children, are still displaced within the country. More than 6.3 million people continue to live as refugees in neighboring European countries and throughout the world,” said Eden Wosornu, representative of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. 09:01 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of January 11:
08:35 The number of victims as a result of yesterday's missile attack on a hotel in the center of Kharkov has increased to 12, said the head of the OBA Oleg Sinegubov. Two people remain in hospital. According to local authorities, one drone exploded over a technical structure of a pumping station on the outskirts of Kaluga, another one pierced the roof of a non-residential building in one of the municipalities of the Voronezh region, but there were no casualties. 06:00 The United States intends to discuss a military action plan in Ukraine with Zelensky during the forum in Davos next week, Bloomberg writes. According to agency sources, Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan will likely raise this topic with the Ukrainian president. The reason for discussing this topic, according to sources, was the problems that have arisen recently between Washington and Kiev, in particular with financing. The US will require a military action plan for 2024 to determine the support needed. Washington is also concerned about disagreements between Zelensky and Zaluzhny, which allegedly slows down efforts to develop a new strategy, the publication writes. 01:54 On the evening of January 10, the Russians attacked the Kiev district of Kharkov, first with S-300 missiles, said the head of the OBA Oleg Sinegubov. As a result of the attack, the building of the hotel complex was damaged, where more than 30 civilians were present at the time of the attack. As of now, 11 victims are known , nine of them are hospitalized, one person is in serious condition. The prosecutor's office clarified that among the victims there was one Turkish citizen and one Georgian citizen, both representing Turkish media. |
