Tribal sources in Ma’rib said "Naji Saleh Lamak al-Aqili," one of the emirs of al-Qaeda in al-Bayda province, was killed along with many Saudi-led coalition recruits. The coalition and the Al Qaeda emir were leading a joint military attack in "Learif" area, south of the city of Ma’rib.

Previously, the terrorist organization had issued many obituary statements for dozens of its leaders who were killed in Ma’rib while fighting in the ranks of the coalition. The latest obituary statement was issued on May 18, 2022, regarding the killing of "Abu Hamza al-Sanaani." al-Sanaani was a professor of al-Iman University,

which is run by the Islah Party leader Abdul Majeed al-Zindani in Sana’a.

On March 11, 2022, al-Qaeda issued a statement on the killing of another one of its emirs, "Shaker Mansour Ahmed Sharhan." Sharhan was also a commander in the 156th Brigade of the coalition forces in the battles that took place in the "Bani Abd" area in al-Abdiya district of Ma’rib.

A probe by the coalition fighting Yemen's Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels concluded on Saturday that "mistakes" had been made in the August 9 air raid in Saada province.

At the day of the attack, coalition spokesperson Colonel Turki al-Malki had defended the air raid, saying his forces hit a "legitimate military target", which included "operators and planners".

But in a rare concession, the military alliance's investigative body, the Joint Incident Assessment Team (JIAT), said that those behind it should be held accountable.

"The Joint Team ... is of the opinion that the coalition forces should initiate legal action to try and penalise those responsible for the mistakes, which caused collateral damage in the area," Mansour Ahmed al-Mansour, a legal adviser to JIAT, told news hounds in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Egypt court convicts 26 men of links to Hezbollah
2010-04-28
An Egyptian court on Wednesday convicted 26 men of planning attacks inside Egypt and of being linked to Lebanese group Hezbollah.
Jihadis: making friends and influencing people wherever they go.
Judge Adel Abdel Salam Gomaa of the emergency state security court sentenced the men - who included Lebanese, Palestinians, Egyptians and one Sudanese - to prison terms ranging from six months to 25 years. Gomaa said the investigation proved the group intended "to strike Egypt's economy, destroy the bonds between its people and create chaos and instability throughout the country." The court's sentences may not be appealed. Only the president can overturn its verdict.

The 26 detainees in the were arrested in late 2008 and early 2009 and charged with conspiring to carry out attacks against the Suez Canal and tourist sites within Egypt, spying for a foreign entity and possession of explosives. Media reports at the time said the investigation into Hezbollah activities revealed that the goal of the cell was to undermine stability in Egypt and to strike at Israeli targets, not to aid Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Among those tried was Sami Chehab, also named as Mohamed Youssef Mansour Ahmed, who received a jail term of 15 years. He was present in court, placed with the others inside a cage. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last year confirmed Chehab was a member of the group but denied he committed any crime, saying Chehab was only involved in helping equip Palestinians in their fight against Israel.

Defense attorney Montasser Zayat said three of those convicted received life sentences, which he said in Egyptian law was equivalent to 25 years.

Two Lashkar-i-Jhangvi members arrested in mosque bombing
2005-05-31
Police and security personnel have carried out a raid arresting two militants of an outlawed extremist group involved in a Shrine suicide bombing that killed at least 20 people in the Pakistani capital. The forces, after being tipped off, conducted a raid on a guest house "rented hideout" of suspects in the Sargodha city of eastern Punjab province, about 400 kilometers from Islamabad, a district police officer, Naeem Shaikh, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday. He said the two suspects, identified as Mansour Ahmed and Zafar Iqbal, are members of Al-Qaeda linked militant group, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LJ). Earlier, a third suspect, Muhammad Saeed, was arrested but was released later. He added that Ahmed, during initial interrogation, has confessed to his involvement in the suicide attack.
"Ow ow ow! I confess! I confess! Stop doing that and I'll name anyone you like!"
At least 20 people were killed and over 100 were wounded in the suicide explosion at Bari Imam Shrine on Friday. The blast took place as thousands of worshippers were gathered at the Shrine to attend a religious festival. The government had released a photo of the suspected suicide attacker and announced reward money of 500,000 rupees (Approx. US8,400) for information that help to locate him. Designated as a terrorist organization by the United States on January 30, 2003, the LIJ is a Sunni-Deobandi Muslim extremist group based primarily in the Punjab region of Pakistan and the port city of Karachi. It has confirmed links with Al-Qaeda and assisted in several high-profile attacks on Westerners in Pakistan, including the January 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
