Rotherham peer Lord Ahmed charged with fourth child sex offence |
2019-04-19 |
The peer faced the further allegation of buggery against a boy under 11 when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday). Ahmed, of East Bawtry Road, Rotherham, appeared at the lower court last month charged with indecently assaulting the boy and two counts of attempted rape against a girl aged under 16 in the early 1970s. The former Labour politician would have been aged between 14 to 17 when the alleged abuse took place against the two complainants. No pleas have been formally entered but Ahmed’s solicitor told reporters at last month’s hearing outside Sheffield Magistrates' Court “he will be doing everything he can in order to prove his innocence”. His brothers (below L-R Tariq and Farouq) have denied sexually abusing the same boy between 1968 to 1972. |

A British politician who was jailed after sending a text message while driving on a motorway, which killed another motorist, has blamed his fate on a Jewish conspiracy. Lord Nazir Ahmed, 55, who became one of the first Muslim peers in the UK after former Prime Minister Tony Blair appointed him in 1998, has said that his prison sentence was a result of pressure applied on the court by Jews who own newspapers and television channels, the Times said on Thursday. |

MEMRI: Britain's Lord Nazir Ahmed Offers £10mil. Bounty for Obama, Bush
2012-04-16 | |
During a recent visit to Pakistain, Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British House of Lords who originally hails from Pak Kashmire, announced he was putting up a bounty of £10 million for the capture of U.S. President Barack ObamaI inhaled. That was the point... and his predecessor, George W. Bush. The announcement, made at a conference held in the Pak town of Haripur, came in response to a recent U.S. announcement offering a $10 million reward to anyone providing information leading to the capture of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed ![]() ...who would be wearing a canvas jacket with very long sleeves anyplace but Pakistain... , founder of the Pak jihadi organization Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... (LeT), and emir of LeT's charity arm, Jamaat-ud-Dawa ...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba... .[1] Stressing the seriousness of his offer, Lord Ahmed said he would back the bounty at any cost, even if it meant selling his house. Qazi Muhammad Asad, minister for education in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa ... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central... provincial government, was among those present at the conference at which the announcement was made. Following are excerpts from a report on the announcement that appeared in the Pak daily The Express Tribune:[2] "In an expression of solidarity with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, British parliamentarian of Kashmiri origin Lord Nazir Ahmed has announced a reward for the [capture] of U.S. President Barack Obama and his predecessor, George W. Bush. "He made the announcement at a reception arranged in his honor by the business community of Haripur on Friday [April 13, 2012]. Former [Pak] foreign minister Goher Ayub Khan, Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam ...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spends more time running his madrassah. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability... -Fazl's (JUI-F) central leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, and [Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa] Provincial Minister for Education Qazi Muhammad Asad were also present [at] the occasion. "Lord Nazir said that the bounty placed on Saeed was an insult to all Moslems, and [that] by [offering it], President B.O. has challenged the dignity of the Moslem ummah. "'If the U.S. can announce a reward of $10 million for the [capture] of Hafiz Saeed ...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat... , I can announce a bounty of £10 million [for the capture of] President B.O. and his predecessor, George Bush,' Lord Nazir said, adding that he would arrange the bounty at any cost, even if he was left with the option of selling all his personal assets, including his house..." Endotes: [1] Speaking at another event, held on April 10, 2012, in the presence of Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Lord Ahmed said that the U.S. had put up the bounty for Hafiz Muhammad Saeed in order "to keep Pakistain in [a] defensive position." He also warned of the likelihood of a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran, noting that the governments of the U.S. and other countries, facing an election year, could use such an attack to win votes and distract public opinion from the dire financial situation they were facing. In the case of such an attack, he called on the Moslem ummah to unite against the attacking powers. Business Recorder (Pakistain), April 11, 2012. [2] The Express Tribune (Pakistan), April 15, 2012. Musharraf may face trial for war crimes in London |
2009-07-24 |
LONDON: As if the troubles in Pakistan were not enough for former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, a leading Pakistani origin politician in the UK announced to move courts against Musharraf over war crimes here in London. Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham has stepped up his campaign against the former president. The Labour peer announced yesterday that war crime charges would be brought against Musharraf, who is engaged in making speeches to think tanks and select gatherings here these days. Lord Ahmed said he had been approached by a number of families who havd suffered at the hands of Musharrafs policies during his nearly nine-year rule. These affected families from Fata, Balochistan, Waziristan and Lal Masjid and other parts of Pakistan feel war crimes have been committed against them. They have suffered directly as a result of the policies of the former dictator, Lord Ahmed told The News yesterday. A writ will be issued against Musharraf for the war crimes and human rights abuses in Pakistan, he said, adding some of the legal minds involved in pursuing the case against Musharraf will be those who had experience in preparing charges against Chilean army general Augusto Pinochet and had him arrested. Lord Ahmed said a clear message would be sent to those who believe in taking over ruthlessly from civilians and killing people as they please. Barrister Ch Abid Hussain is assisting Lord Nazeer Ahmed in this case. Abid told The News a support group had been formed to help the victims families. He said individual sponsors will come forward to support this expensive legal exercise. Lord Ahmed clarified that no Pakistani political party will be asked for funds and it will be individuals who will declare their interest in the case and fund it on record. It is believed that a press conference will be called very soon here to announce the formal start of the legal proceedings against Musharraf. Lord Ahmed plans to travel to Pakistan within a week as part of his campaign against Musharraf. He will meet members from both the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-N. |

He was speaking at a discussion organised by the member of British Parliament Lord Nazir Ahmed in the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday on the situation in Pakistan, the Sharia law, the Taliban and terrorism. The High Commissioner said that in view of the dangers facing Pakistan, every citizen of the country must rise to the occasion and challenge this scourge of Taliban. He said there was a need to distinguish between Taliban and Islam, and Taliban do not deserve to call themselves Muslims as they are killing the members of their own religion. He paid tributes to Pakistan Army in its endeavour to establish the writ of the government in the troubled areas of Swat, Buner and Lower Dir and said the country has suffered immensely in terms of men and material in this conflict. The High Commissioner called for inquiry by the UN into the funding of the Taliban, acquisition of sophisticated weapons and heavy duty vehicles. Noted British journalist and member of the Respect Party Yvonne Ridley said the West must stop demonising Pakistan whose people are moderate and peace loving. Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner Asif Durrani stressed on solving the Middle East issue as Al-Qaeda's global threat was related to that region. He brushed aside claims that Taliban pose danger to Islamabad. Lord Ahmed spoke of the historical links between Pakistan and Britain and the said British Pakistani Diaspora has the moral responsibility to assist their land of origin in its hour of need. A number of councillors of Pakistani origin including Mushtaq Lasharie, Hamza Malik, Riaz Mirza, Pervez Chaudhry and Sikander Lodhi also spoke on the occasion and called for removing the misperception about Pakistan while making efforts to promote and strengthen democracy. The meeting also passed a resolution calling on Maulana Sufi Mohammad, Maulana Fazalullah, HajI Muslim and other leaders of the Tehrik-e-Taliban to lay down their arms and co-operate with the State authorities to provide good governance, justice and development in the region. The British elected councillors of Pakistani origin also called upon the NGOs to help rebuild villages that have been destroyed in the drone attacks and by the Taliban. Peace relies on resolution of Kashmir: Nazir |
2008-12-29 |
ISLAMABAD: Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the UK House of Lords with Kashmiri origin, on Sunday said India mounted on maligning Pakistan without any proof after Mumbai attacks and that global peace relied largely on resolution of Kashmir and Palestine issues. He was speaking at a joint press conference with former AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry. He said corruption of the ruling faction of Muslim Conference had divided the AJK on beradri basis, which served interests of only a few. He termed the efforts for an in-house change in the AJK Legislative Assembly a democratic move, citing replacement of Tony Blair with Borden Brown through such efforts. He criticised statement of a Muslim Conference leader, who said his party had 200,000 trained Muslim Conference Mujahideen. He said such statements were irresponsible and against the stated position of Pakistan on Kashmir issue, adding it could raise questions that 700,000 Kashmiris living in the UK could get militancy training in AJK. On the recent Israeli air strikes inside Ghaza, he said the OIC and Arab League should hold emergency meetings to settle the matter failing which feelings of Muslim youth could be hurt. He said the world had double standards on Palestine issue. Barrister Sultan said the AJK government had failed to highlight Kashmir issue internationally effectively so there was a need for re-election. He accused the AJK government of giving 900 kanals of land to its cronies for as less a price as Rs 100 per kanal. He claimed that Sardar Attique had support of only 15 out of total 34 member of the Legislative Assembly so he had no moral justification to stay in the office. |

Hizb-ut-Tahrir votes against voting
2008-03-04 | |||
The leader of the British wing of Hizb ut-Tahrir was applauded as he called on Muslims to work outside the political system and concentrate on grass roots initiatives such as building madrassas and mosques. He also attacked Muslim MPs including Sadiq Khan for voting for gay rights and failing to defend Muslim Sharia laws.
He would rather have adherence to religion than freedom of speech, he said.
But Lord Ahmed angrily rejected those arguments. He told the audience: "Britain is a great place. There's no other place in the world that gives Muslims more rights than the UK. Don't isolate yourselves just because you think you are superior." Muslims wanted the same things as everyone else, he added, such as good transport, health, education and no crime. Even the prophet Mohammed engaged in dialogue with non-Muslims, he pointed out. "Muslims have been here in numbers only in the last 50 or 60 years. "But it wasn't until 30 years ago that we thought it was our country. So in 30 years we haven't done that bad." He added: "There are 8,000 Muslims in prisons in Britain because they've committed crime. "We should be doing more to rehabilitate them rather than do nothing and be isolated." But he was jeered when he criticised those who had clapped other speakers. "You have done nothing for society apart from give us a bad name," he told them. A vote at the end of the debate showed 78 per cent of the audience agreed that political participation had 'failed Muslims.' Lord Ahmed told the East London Advertiser as he left at the end: "They just packed the room with their own supporters." The only Tower Hamlets councillor to make a brief appearance at the debate was Labour's Alibor Choudhury.

Muslim Leadersâ Task Force Already on Rack in Britain

![]() Al-Massari, who a few days ago removed offensive footage from his website of three Black Watch British soldiers being blown up by a suicide bomber in Iraq and encouraging insurgents in Iraq to attack foreign troops. Al-Massari is also a prime target for deportation under new rules published last week by Home Secretary Charles Clarke. IHRC Chairman Shadjereh stressed that Al-Massari is âone of many advisers we have. Having an adviser in one particular area does not mean we endorse all activities that an individual believes in or does. There is no doubt that he is an expert on Gulf States. If anything is proven against him, then there will definitely be a review of his position as an adviser.â

Lord Nazir advises Nancy not to join Indian propagandists |
2003-01-26 |
Lord Nazir Ahmed, member of British House of Commons, Friday lashed out at US ambassador to Pakistan, Ms Nancy Powell, saying, she should not join the Indian propagandists. Pak has a representative in Parliament? Well, why not? They've got one in the U.S. Senate... He asked the ambassador to bring proofs in support of her allegations. "She does not see repeated and frequent tests of Indian missiles system". But that's not what she was talking about, is it? He was talking to President AJK Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan in a meeting held at Kashmir House here on Saturday. Lord Nazir said India has not so far investigated Chathi Singhpura incident, which was the handiwork of Indian intelligence agencies. "Even the Amnesty International has written on this. " That's not what she was talking about, either... He said this should have taken with the Foreign Office not to speak at a business forum. He diverted Nancy's attention towards India's arms race and asked the US to take its notice. Nope. Wasn't talking about that, either... The AJK president said America itself was on frontline and wanted elections held in Indian held Kashmir first. Later they were waiting for elections in Pakistan and giving impression that they would do something. Whither have gone they promises, he asked. What Nancy was talking about was the Pak habit of exporting large numbers of crazed killers into Kashmir. It shouldn't be too long before we talk to them about their habit of exporting crazed killers to Afghanistan. |
