Afghan forces intercept Taliban fighters, find Jaish terrorists training for Kashmir
2020-04-17 | |||
[hindustantimes] A chance discovery of global terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed cadres in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province on Monday night has confirmed the assessment of Indian intelligence agencies that Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence had resumed training a select groups of terrorists for Kashmir in war-torn Afghanistan,
Tip from Indian Intel? The Afghan forces had carried out a raid in Nangarhar’s Muhmand Dara
![]()
Hindustan Times has accessed photographs and video footage of the clash. One of these photographs shows some of the weapons seized by the Afghan security forces from the camp: 2 mortar launchers, one rocket-propelled grenade and 2 AK series rifles. Maulana Masood Azhar, who has been on India’s most wanted list for years, is incapacitated due to health issues and lives in the terror group’s headquarters, Markaz-e-Usman-o-Ali in Pakistan’s Bahawalpur. His younger brother Mufti Rauf Asghar is the man running the Jaish ‘s terror show. Intelligence reports indicate that the Jaish’s de facto chief Mufti Rauf Asghar’s son Wali Azhar is also being trained in these camps that are headed by former Afghan war and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen veteran Mufti Asghar Kashmiri. His second-in-command at these camps is the Jaish’s Kashmir infiltration specialist Abdullah aka Asadullah. “We have photographic evidence that places Kashmiri and Abdullah at the terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” one official told HT. According to information shared with India’s security planners, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir residents Yasin, Umar, Said and Mansoor along with Bahawalpur-based chief trainer Chacha Wagah, Junaid and Qari Sahab were present in the camp along with Kashmiri and Abdullah as late as March 29. The total strength of Khogyani I camp is 23 cadres and seven instructors, while the number of cadres in Khogyani II and Dargah camps number 66 excluding trainers and logistics staff. The radicalised cadre are being given a 15-day normal training after which they have to clear the six-month “Jundullah (commando)” training course before being launched into J&K. These cadres are also being given jungle survival training in Kunar reserve near Nuristan border. Miniature replicas of the areas around their launch pads at Neelum, Sharda, Kel, Athmuqam, Leepa, Kotli and Forward Kahuta across the Line of Control (LOC) have been created for briefing them about infiltration into J&K. Already, intelligence agencies have reported that the Pakistan terror groups had prepped to send about 230 terrorists across the Line of Control. Indian national security planners are also watching with some anxiety the emerging big picture in Afghanistan with the US on the verge of withdrawal and Taliban all set to fight it out with the Ashraf Ghani regime for the seat in Kabul. It is quite evident that once the Taliban gain control of Kabul, Pakistan would acquire strategic depth through Afghanistan and use the soil to launch terror strikes against India, a counter-terror operative in Delhi said. Afghan officials get 20 years for handing secrets to Pakistan |
2018-10-11 |
[Al Ahram] Two Afghan military officials were locked awayDrop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! for 20 years after a two-year trial for sharing state secrets with Pakistain, a prosecutor said on Wednesday. The sentence highlights a long-standing belief between Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistain that the other country does not adequately prevent cross-border myrmidon attacks. Shah Mohammad and Nazirullah were placed in durance vile Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! in 2016 after travelling to Pakistain to hand over information to Pakistain's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) agency. They pleaded not guilty "Wudn't me." but eventually "confessed to their crime" before the military court in the eastern city of Jalalabad, officials said. "Each of them has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the primary court," said Najiburrahman Nadim, a military prosecutor. Nadim said the accused had shared secret information about attacks and kabooms. Afghanistan’s Western-backed government has long accused Pakistain of harbouring Afghan Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... krazed killers, a charge that Islamabad denies. Islamabad, in turn, accuses Afghanistan of not doing enough to eradicate Pak Talibs, many of whom are based in Afghanistan and mostly carry out attacks inside Pakistain. A defence lawyer representing the two army officials rejected the court's verdict, which was delivered on Tuesday. "My clients were beaten during the investigations and they were forced to confess. We don't accept the decision and we will appeal," said Toryalai Muqanen. |

Jalaluddin Haqqani’s death not to affect the activities of the network: Nabil
2018-09-05 | |
[KhaamaPress] The former Afghan Intelligence Chief Rahmatullah Nabil says the death of the Haqqani network founder Jalaluddin Haqqani![]() will not affect the activities of the network. In an online statement posted in his Twitter account, Nabil said some of the other leaders of the terror network, including Sirajuddin Haqqani ![]() , Khalil Haqqani, Hamza Haqqani, Yahya Haqqani, Aziz, and some others have been fully trained as the brutal successor of Jalaluddin Haqqani. Nabil also claimed that Jalaluddin Haqqani has died long ago and disclosure of his death likely has direct links with the scheduled visit of the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The Taliban ...Arabic for students... group issued a statement earlier today confirming that the founder of the network has died due to the illness he was suffering from during the recent years. Jalaluddin was approximately 182 years old, give or take a couple dozen. Haqqani network was formed in the late 1970s by Jalaluddin Haqqani. The group is allied with al-Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban and cooperates with other terrorist organizations in the region. The network is accused of staging numerous cross-border attacks from their base in North Wazoo, including the 19-hour siege at the US Embassy in Kabul in September 2011. It is considered the most lethal krazed killer group targeting the NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... -led coalition security forces and Afghan personnel in Afghanistan. The US Department of State designated the HQN as a Foreign Terrorist Organization on September 7, 2012.
Unverified reports have placed him in Pakistan in recent years. There had been rumours of his death before, in 2008 and 2015, though this was the first time the Taliban have issued a statement on it. The Haqqanis, suspected of links to Pakistan's shadowy military establishment, were described by US Admiral Mike Mullen in 2011 as a "veritable arm" of Pakistani intelligence. Jalaluddin's son Sirajuddin was running the network "with major ISI involvement", a foreign diplomat in Kabul told AFP, referring to Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence. Designated a terrorist group by the US, the Haqqanis are known for their heavy use of suicide bombers, indiscriminately killing Afghan civilians and security forces. They were blamed for the devastating truck bomb in the heart of Kabul in May 2017 that killed around 150 people -- though Sirajuddin later denied involvement in a rare audio message. The network has also been accused of assassinating top Afghan officials and holding kidnapped Westerners for ransom. In Kabul, the group is widely believed to have been behind many of the recent attacks on the capital that were claimed by the local wing of the Islamic State group. Some analysts believe it works with IS -- which at the same time is involved in a bloody turf war with the Taliban -- to avoid blame and political blowback.

Pakistan bars Hafiz Saeed group from forming political party |
2018-06-14 |
[PRESSTV] A Pak group linked to the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks has been denied permission to register as a political party ahead of general elections scheduled to be held on July 25. "The Election Commission of Pakistain today rejected the registration request by the Milli Moslem League as a political party," Altaf Ahmad, front man for the Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP), said on Wednesday. Ahmad said a detailed order would be issued later stating the reasons for the commission's decision. The MML was launched last August to contest the July elections. It was founded by Jamaat-ud-Dawa ...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba... (JuD) charity, a wing of the hard boy group Lashkar-e-Taiba ![]() Army of the Pure,an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... (LeT). The LeT is believed to have orchestrated the attacks in the Indian city in 2008, where over 160 people were killed. Earlier this year, the United States added the MML along with Tehrik-e-Azadi-e-Kashmire (TAJK) to its list of Foreign Terrorist Organisations (FTO), reasoning that both were fronts for the banned outfit. The United States offers the huge bounty in return for information that could lead to the conviction of Hafiz Saeed ![]() ...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat... , who heads the JuD. Washington says the JuD is a front for the LeT. Much to the dismay of the United States and India, Pak officials have rejected calls for leveling charges against Saeed over the past years. Consumed by years of unsuccessful anti-militant drive, Pakistain, sources say, has a general plan to de-radicalize hard boy-linked organizations and integrate them by bringing them into politics. The ECP announcement on the MML would be a serious blow to such efforts that are believed to be led by the Pak military’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) spy agency. Saeed was sent to his room in January 2017 after years of living freely in Pakistain, but a court ordered his release in November 2017. |

Ismatullah Muavia sending terrorists to Afghanistan and Kashmir: Nabil |
2018-06-05 |
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The former General Director of the Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), Rahmatullah Nabil, claims that the Ismatullah Mauvia, is sending terrorist to Afghanistan and Kashmir to wage war under the guise of Jihad besides hatching plots to assassinate the leaders of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement. Nabil issued a statement on his official Twitter account, claiming that Muavia has returned to North Waziristan to resume his terrorist related operations. “Ismatullah Muavia is leading a terrorist group, was based in NorthWaziristan & during the ZarbeAzab oper’s has moved by MI/ISI to Vehari District Punjab. He is moved back to Waziristain& sending terrorist to AFG & Kashmir & planning assassination of PTM leaders & call it Jihad!,” Nabil said. This comes as Nabil released classified documents to confirm the allegation regarding the support of Pakistan to the Afghan militant groups, specifically the notorious Haqqani terrorist network. The six documents released by Nabil in mid-July included formal letters by Pakistani military and the military intelligence of the country, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). Nabil had said the Haqqani network not only remained intact from Zarb-e-Azb operations but the Pakistani military shifted the network’s fighters, families, weapons and other equipment to safe places. He also added that the Afghan and American intelligence agencies were undoubtedly aware of the move and National Directorate of Security has hundreds of classified documents of the Pakistani military regarding its support to Afghan militants. In the meantime, the Pakistani military officials admitted that some residuals of the notorious Haqqani terrorist network still remain in Pakistan as the Afghan and US officials emphasize that the terror group’s leadership councils are based in the key cities of Pakistan, including Quetta city. Addressing accusations of harbouring the Haqqani network on the Pakistan side, the Pakistani Military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor conceded today that some residual strength may still remain in Pakistan, according to Dawn News. |

US want military presence from Pakistan in Afghanistan, claims ex-ISI chief |
2017-10-29 |
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The former chief of the military intelligence of Pakistain, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Asad Durrani has claimed that the United States wants military in Afghanistan from Pakistain. In an interview with the Russia Today, US wants Pakistain to establish and maintain a military presence in Afghanistan but will not pay for the cost of such an expedition. Durrani went on to claim that there has been no change in the new US policy, apparently guestuirng that Washington was supposed to prioritize peace and stability in the country and region rather than opting military presence. "Essentially the policy remains the same and that is you have to dig in Afghanistan, stay there, keep the bases, keep the military presence. That is more important than either peace there or settlement there," he added. He aso ruled out that Pakistain is dependent to America as he was gesturing towards the recent US decisions to reduce military help to Pakistain. |

2017-10-07 |
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Islamabad on Thursday rejected the remarks by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US military regarding the connections between Pakistain’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and the terrorist groups. A front man for the ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistain Nafis Zakaria told news hounds "We have time and again rejected these allegations. Pakistain has done enough to erase the footprint of terrorism from its soil through indiscriminate counter terrorism operations against all terrorist outfits." Zakaria further added that "Our counter-terrorism operations were without any discrimination and we have successfully erased the footprint of faceless myrmidons from our soil. There are no safe-havens in Pakistain." He also claimed that the sanctuaries people are talking about are "located in the ungoverned spaces of Afghanistan."
