Jewish Rep. links antisemitism spike to comments made by Democratic colleagues |
2021-06-05 |
[IsraelTimes] Rep. Ted Deutch, a Jewish Democratic congressman from Florida, blamed anti-Israel congresspeople in his own party for the recent spike in antisemitism. Speaking at a virtual event with fellow politicians on Thursday that addressed recent antisemitism in Florida, Deutch called out "people in the United States who hear that the entire state of Israel is some unacceptable creation," according to Jewish Insider. He also referenced Democrats who oppose Israel or accuse it of "apartheid," such as Reps. Deutch added, "Attacks like that against Jews have led to antisemitism and expulsion, and violence around the world." Rep. Lois Frankel, a Jewish Democrat who serves a district neighboring Deutch’s, said at the same event that she preferred to "attack antisemitism, not necessarily the person," because "somehow when you attack people who are saying terrible things, you help them raise a lot of money," Jewish Insider reported. The event took place on the same night as an in-person event at the Florida Holocaust Museum in Tampa Bay, protesting a recent vandalism attack against the museum. Last week, the museum was graffitied with swastikas and the message "The Jews are guilty." At the event, the museum’s executive director, Elizabeth Gelman, read a letter to the museum from President Joe The Big GuyBiden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity.... condemning the vandalism. ![]() as the head of state. This mayo-haired hatchet-faced scrunt is still bleating? Wasserman Schultz said, "Make no mistake, this was a domestic terror attack whose purpose was to overturn the results of a legitimate election. You have an attack that was incited by the then president of the United States, the executive branch on the citadel of our democracy, the United States Capitol, the legislative branch to prevent the end of his own presidential term and overturn an election. If that doesn’t cry out for an independent investigation, I don’t know what does. How will we prevent another attack if we don’t get to the bottom of how this one occurred and do everything we can to put in place measures to make sure it can’t happen again?" In a video, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said, "We have a Second Amendment in this country, and I think we have an obligation to use it. The Second Amendment is not about, it’s not about hunting, it’s not about recreation, it’s not about sports. The Second Amendment is about maintaining within the citizenry the ability to maintain an armed rebellion against the government if that becomes necessary. I hope it never does." Wasserman Schultz said, "You can see in technicolor what the Republican Party has become in the cheer in response to what my colleague in Florida said in front of that crowd last night. We’ve already seen in the attack on the Capitol exactly what he described play-out. That is why an independent investigation is critical. Clearly the majority of the Republican Party, Republicans in the Senate are opposed to that because they are not interested in getting to the bottom of this. They embrace exactly what Matt Gaetz said last night which is that people should take matters into their own hands when they don’t support our system of government anymore. They’re willing to abandon our system of government and use all measures necessary to install or keep in place the person they want in power, Donald Trump." She added, "The Republican Party clearly, is now made up of people who subscribe to the views of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene and they worship at the alter of Donald Trump. They have abandon any commitment to our small "r" republic principles of government so that we can make sure we are the beacon of democracy and hope for the world." House IT Aides Ran Car Dealership With Markings Of A Nefarious Money Laundering Operation |
2020-02-09 |
[Daily Caller from 19 Dec 2017] The used car dealership known as CIA never seemed like an ordinary car dealership, with inventory, staff and expenses. On its Facebook page, CIA’s "staff" were fake personalities such as "James Falls O’Brien," whose photo was taken from a hairstyle model catalog, and "Jade Julia," whose image came from a web page called "Beautiful Girls Wallpaper." If a customer showed up looking to buy a car from Cars International A, often referred to as CIA, Abid Awan ‐ who was managing partner of the dealership while also earning $160,000 handling IT for House Democrats ‐ would frequently simply go across the street to another dealership called AAA Motors and get one. "If AAA borrows a car to Cars International and they have a customer, it was simply take the car across the street and sell it, and then later on give the profit back or not," Nasir Khattak, who ran the longstanding AAA dealership, testified in a lawsuit. "There was no documentation... If you go and try to dissect, you will not be able to make any sense out of them because there were many, dozens and dozens, of cars transferred between the two dealerships and between other people." Khattak did not explain why he would ruin his existing business to help the Awans. "All of those transactions was to support Cars International A from AAA Motors," he testified. "That’s why I did not make any money from my dealership because my resources were supporting Cars International A." He said only Imran Awan knew what became of the money. "It was Imram, [Abid] Awan’s brother, who was running the business in full control," he said. Imran Awan and his family members were congressional IT aides who investigators said made unauthorized access to the House Democratic Caucus server thousands of times. At the same time as they worked for and could read all the emails of congressmen who sat on committees like Intelligence, Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs, they also ran a car dealership that took money from a Hezbollah-linked fugitive and whose financial books were indecipherable and business patterns bizarre, according to testimony in court records. Federal Court Orders Snap Hearing on Awan Brothers, Congressional Democrat IT Scandal After DOJ Files Document Under Seal |
2020-01-15 |
[Judicial Watch] Judicial Watch announced today that a federal court yesterday ordered a snap hearing after the Justice Department submitted information under seal on Friday following the court's demand for an explanation of why no records have been produced in the ongoing legal battle for documents about the Congressional Democrat IT (information technology) scandal involving the Awan brothers. The hearing is set for tomorrow, January 15, at 10 am. Which is today In November 2018, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the FBI over two FOIA requests for records related to the Awan brothers (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-02563)). In August 2019, the Justice Department told the court that it would begin producing records by November 5, 2019. After producing no records, on November 13, 2019, the agency told Judicial Watch that it was having "technical difficulties," and in a recent email claimed that "difficulties with the production remain." In a joint status report filed on December 5, 2019, Judicial Watch reported to the court that the DOJ claimed in a phone call that it was now unable to produce any records to either of the FOIA requests "because the agency was waiting for some unspecified action by Judge [Tanya S.] Chutkan in some other matter so as to avoid having to produce records in this case." In that same report the DOJ told the court that Judge Chutkan is "presiding over a related sealed criminal matter" that prohibits the government from releasing the requested FOIA information. In a hearing last month, U.S. District Court Judge Amit P. Mehta expressed frustration and ordered the Justice Department to explain its failure to produce records by January 10 and to provide Judicial Watch some details about the delay. Instead, the Justice Department made its filing under seal and has yet to provide Judicial Watch with any details about its failure to produce records as promised to the court. "The cover-up of the Awan Brothers Democratic IT scandal shows the FBI and DOJ's penchant for dishonesty isn't just limited to FISA abuse," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The DOJ's handling of the Awan Brothers case has long been an issue of concern and now we are expected believe some secret investigation prevents the public from knowing the full truth about this scandal. We are skeptical." Imran Awan and his family were banned from the House computer network in February 2017 after the House's top law enforcement officer wrote that Imran was "an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems," and that a server containing evidence had gone "missing." The inspector general said server logs showed "unauthorized access" and procurement records were falsified. Imran Awan was Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz's (D-FL) top information technology aide. Most lawmakers fired Awan in February, but Wasserman Schultz kept him on until he was arrested in July 2017, trying to board a flight for Pakistan. In July 2018, Imran Awan was given a plea deal, and pled guilty to federal bank fraud but prosecutors found no evidence that Awan "violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems." The Awan brothers reportedly "were not given background checks before being given access to highly sensitive government information and no explanations have been given as to why." Additionally, "If they would have run this background check it would have found out not only multiple criminal convictions, but $1 million bankruptcy, a dozen lawsuits … it would have found a whole host of major red flags and the Democrats didn't do any of those checks." The status hearing is before Judge Amit P. Mehta. Judge delays legal challenge by conservative group over Clinton emails |
2019-12-22 |
[UPI] A federal judge has delayed a ruling on whether former U.S. Secretary of State Crooked HillaryClinton ![]() the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away... must submit to cross-examination stemming from a complaint by a conservative group concerning emails she wrote and received while serving in an official capacity. U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lambeth said Thursday a decision would likely come in January concerning a request by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch, but added he was concerned by the continuing emergence of new emails in the case. Last week the Justice Department released 30 emails not included in the 30,000 she gave the State Department in 2014. Although Clinton was cleared of wrongdoing by a lengthy Justice Department investigation tied to the scandal -- which involved her sending official emails over a non-secure, private server -- the group seeks to depose Clinton and conduct another round of questioning of former chief of staff Cheryl Mills. The group's long-running suit began with a search for information regarding Clinton's handling of the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. It led to disclosures about Clinton's use of the private email system she used between 2009 and 2013 to conduct official business. The FBI discovered that a few dozen emails contained classified information, and more than 2,000 were later retroactively classified by the State Department. "The FBI moved heaven and earth to reconstruct and locate any email they could possibly find that was related to Secretary Clinton," Justice Department attorney Stephen Pezzi argued in court Thursday. Judicial Watch argues the State Department acted in bad faith by releasing only four of Clinton's emails and attempted to close the case in 2014. Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit Nov. 7, 2018, for 7,000 pages of Capitol Police records related to the cybersecurity investigation, and Aug. 2, the DOJ agreed to begin producing records by Nov. 5. That deadline came and went with no records being produced; on a Nov. 13 phone call, the DOJ said "technical difficulties" had resulted in a delay, Judicial Watch stated in a court filing. The DOJ later changed its story and said it was actually withholding documents "pursuant to an Order issued by the Honorable Tanya S. Chutkan who is presiding over a related sealed criminal matter," prosecutors said in a Dec. 5 filing. Justice Department covers up possible spy ring scandal in Democratic congressional offices |
2018-07-04 |
![]() I sat flabbergasted in the courtroom in Washington as the plea agreement was entered. I spent the last year interviewing hundreds of people and chasing leads for my upcoming book ‐titled "Spies in Congress" ‐ about the alleged spy ring believed led by Awan that may have operated in the offices of more than 40 Democratic members of Congress. If not for my extensive research on this case, I might have assumed the government just couldn’t find enough evidence to make a solid case against Awan on more serious charges than bank fraud. When I asked Justice Department prosecutor J.P. Cooney why the government made this odd plea deal he just smiled and waved me away as he told me to ask the Justice Department Office of Public Affairs. The office declined to answer my questions. Shockingly, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia issued a news release about Awan’s plea agreement that made no mention of his IT work for Democrats in Congress, no mention of Wasserman Schultz, and made his case sound like a minor local criminal matter of little interest to anyone. It was headlined: "Virginia Man Pleads Guilty to Making False Statement on Application for Home Equity Loan." Ho-hum, right? Actually, nothing could be further from the truth. Awan is due to be sentenced Aug. 21 and could get off with no jail sentence, according the plea agreement. Prosecutors said they would not recommend jail time ‐ in effect, giving Awan a get-out-of-jail-free card. Just like that, the Department of Justice is making an important case go away as if nothing much happened. Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, is having all charges against her dismissed as part of the agreement. On the FBI's 'radar' for some time, possibly years, even decades ? |

In Newly Obtained Memo, Congress TOP COP Said House Dem Caucus Server Vanished |
2018-07-03 |
![]() In the memo, Congress’s top law enforcement official, Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving, along with Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko, wrote, "We have concluded that the employees [Democratic systems administrator Imran Awan and his family] are an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems and thereby members’ capacity to serve constituents." The memo, addressed to the Committee on House Administration (CHA) and dated Feb. 3, 2017, was recently reviewed and transcribed by The Daily Caller News Foundation. The letter bolsters TheDCNF’s previous reporting about the missing server and evidence of fraud on Capitol Hill. It details how the caucus server, run by then-caucus Chairman Rep. Xavier Becerra, was secretly copied by authorities after the House Inspector General (IG) identified suspicious activity on it, but the Awans’ physical access was not blocked. |
