Hamas to submit comprehensive ceasefire-hostage exchange proposal in Doha

Hamas proposal: Israel lays down arms and surrenders, then pays to rebuild Gaza from tunnels to brass-and-marble shopping malls, including all the latest fixtures in the apartment blocks. After that the hostages will be discussed, and how quickly Israel will be required to withdraw behind the Green Line.

i and Israeli negotiators are holding in Doha today to prepare for new talks for a ceasefire and hostage release deal.

Israeli officials have been evaluating different options for a deal, including a proposal that was presented in a security cabinet meeting last week to offer Hamas a two-week ceasefire in exchange for the release of five hostages, but the terror group reportedly appears to prefer an immediate end to the conflict.

The unnamed Hamas source tells Asharq that "we will listen to the offer [of the negotiators] but for our part, we prefer a comprehensive deal that takes place in one stage and ends the war once and for all, in return for a prisoner exchange under which all Israeli captives are released in exchange for an agreed number of Paleostinian prisoners in Israeli jails."
The Times of Israel adds:
A top Hamas official appears to indicate that the Gazan terror group is open to a deal with Israel as talks aimed at ending the war and freeing hostages restart in Doha.

Husam Badran,
…who is not dead yet…
a senior member of Hamas’s Qatar-based political bureau, says in a statement carried by the Pro-Hamas Shehab news agency that an agreement is possible.

“Our demands are clear and known, and a deal can be reached, provided that Netanyahu remains committed to what was already agreed upon,” Badran says.
Does he mean what Israel agreed to or what Hamas agreed to? These are not the same lists, as has been revealed.
It is unclear if Badran’s comments are in reaction to an Egyptian proposal for a two-day ceasefire in Gaza to exchange four Israeli hostages for some Palestinian prisoners, followed by 10 days of talks.

Saudi news station Al Arabiya reported earlier that Hamas was willing to accept the Egyptian proposal as long as it is incorporated into its July 2 demands for a hostage deal. It also seeks guarantees that Israel will commit to the Egyptian proposal being part of a comprehensive deal.

Hamas sources also told Saudi channel Asharq News that the group preferred a comprehensive deal rather than a piecemeal one.

Israel considering Hamas demand not to assassinate its senior officials - report
2024-03-26
[Jpost] Israeli officials have suggested they might consider a permanent ceasefire if Hamas’s Gaza leadership leave the Strip and go into exile.

Israel is considering Hamas's demand for a commitment not to assassinate the organization's senior officials if they are exiled from the Gaza Strip, Kan reported Friday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously stated in November that he had told the Mossad “to act against the heads of Hamas wherever they are.”

Israel would agree to this in exchange for an agreement that would include the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the release of all the hostages, according to the Kan report.

Hamas is simultaneously demanding the withdrawal of IDF forces from Gaza.

The proposal is backed by the United States as part of the next phase of a hostage deal in which Hamas would release 40 hostages in exchange for a six-week ceasefire.

An Israeli senior official told Kan that an offer is being considered, "including a commitment not to harm the exiled senior officials."

DEALS ON THE TABLE
During the hostage negotiations, Hamas officials said they would only release the remaining hostages in Gaza as part of a ceasefire. Netanyahu has said that he will not accept any deal that would leave Hamas in control of Gaza.

One recent framework for a proposed deal was a phased release of the remaining hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, with the goal of a ceasefire, a senior Western diplomat and a regional diplomat told The New York Times.

Israeli officials have suggested they might consider a permanent ceasefire if Hamas’s Gaza leadership leaves the Strip and goes into exile, the two diplomats told the NYT.

Hamas officials have rejected leaving the Strip, according to the report. “Hamas and its leaders are on their land in Gaza,” Husam Badran, a senior Hamas official, said in a text message. “We won’t leave.”

An Israeli delegation is in Qatar for hostage negotiations and has agreed to an American compromise on the number of Palestinian prisoners who will be swapped for each Israeli hostage. They are waiting for a response from Hamas, Israeli media reported Saturday night.

Bodyguards assigned to Jewish delegates at UK Labour Party conference
2018-08-28
See how Jerry Corbyn’s Labour party ensures that Jewish party members feel safe and included.
[Jpost] Jewish delegates to the upcoming British Labour Party conference will be given bodyguards over fears for their safety from supporters of party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The protection also will be offered to Jewish Labour Party politicians, the Daily Mail reported late Saturday.

The newspaper reported that the Jewish Labour Movement has held talks with the Community Security Trust, which oversees security for the Jewish community in Britannia, about providing security for next month’s conference, which will be held in Liverpool.

Jewish Labour politician Luciana Berger, who serves as Parliamentary chair for the Jewish Labour Movement, on Saturday slammed Corbyn for statements made in 2013, but which surfaced last week on video, in which he said that "Zionists" were unable to understand British ways of thinking despite growing up in the country.

Berger said she felt "unwelcome" in her own party after Corbyn’s "inexcusable comments."

The Daily Mail quoted an unnamed source as saying that "CST are reporting back with a full assessment of the security requirements. There is a real concern about safety."

Labour members who questioned the loyalty of British Jews have been investigated as part of Labour Party internal inquiries into antisemitism, the party told the newspaper.

A party front man also told the Mail that the party "is committed to the security and well-being of all Jewish people."

"Jeremy is determined to tackle antisemitism both within the Labour Party and wider society and the Party is committed to rebuilding trust with the Jewish community," the party said in a statement on Saturday night.

Writer and activist Adam Ma’anit in a series of tweets accused Labour of sinking "into an anti-Semitic cesspit of its own making."

Ma’anit, who said his 16-year-old cousin Orly Ofir was killed by bully boyz linked to ex-Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", military leader Husam Badran, who appeared at a 2012 conference in Doha with Corbyn, also tweeted that "Recently revealed details of Corbyn’s troubling past associations means I can no longer remain silent. This is personal."

"At the ’remarkable’ Doha conference, this supposed ’man of peace’ Corbyn described contributions from recently released ’brothers’ like Badran as ’fascinating and electrifying.’ I felt sick to my stomach at these words."

Last month, Britannia’s three Jewish newspapers united in publishing a front-page editorial warning of the "existential" threat to British Jewry that a government led by Jeremy Corbyn would pose.

Facebook closes over 100 Hamas-linked accounts, angering terror group
2017-01-09
[IsraelTimes] Move follows online campaign celebrating infamous bomb maker; Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", asks supporters to find alternate social media site.

Hamas slammed the social media giant Facebook for closing down over a hundred pages belonging or sympathetic to the terror group in control of the Gazoo Strip.

The closures took place on Thursday, in light of a social media campaign by Hamas to celebrate the man who first manufactured bombs for it in the early 1990s, Yahya Ayyash, known as "the engineer." Ayyash was assassinated by Israel 21 years ago on Thursday.

"We condemn the arbitrary measures taken by Facebook management against the pages and accounts supporting the Hamas movement. We affirm that those pages have the right to express their points of view just as anyone else does," wrote Hamas front man Husam Badran in a statement posted on the terror group’s website.

Badran called on "Paleostinian activists and Paleostinian news sites with Facebook pages to search for effective replacements" for Facebook.

Hamas said a total of 90 Facebook pages belonging to Hamas or sites sympathetic to the group were taken down, as well as another 30 personal pages belonging to individuals.

Other Paleostinian news sites on Twitter said over 200 pro-Hamas accounts were closed by Facebook since Thursday,

On Thursday, official Hamas media and sites sympathetic to the group launched a social media campaign commemorating the 21st anniversary of the liquidation of Ayyash with the slogan "Be like Ayyash."

And many moooooooooorrree...
Ayyash was assassinated by Israel in 1996 by a remotely detonated cellphone given to the bomb maker by a close friend who had been in the service of the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency.

Hamas has long accused Facebook of colluding with Israel against it and suppressing free speech for Paleostinians.

Israel has accused Facebook of facilitating Paleostinian incitement against Israelis, especially following a wave of hundreds of attacks that began in October 2015, which security services said was fueled by online incitement.

In April, Facebook shut down the Facebook page for the spokesperson of Hamas’s military wing the Qassam Brigades, only a day after it was opened.

despite the closures of many Hamas-linked Facebook accounts on Thursday, the official page of the Qassam Brigades, considered a terror group by most Western governments, is still online.

on Tuesday, the so-called Facebook bill, which would allow the state to seek court orders to force the social media giant to remove certain content based on police recommendations, passed its first reading in the Knesset.

The bill was proposed by Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked in July, two weeks after the two met with Facebook officials in the Knesset.

The government says the bill will only be invoked in cases of suspected incitement, where there is a real possibility that the material in question endangers the public or national security.

According to a front man for Erdan, Facebook recently agreed to remove just 23 out of 74 pages brought to its attention by Israel for spreading alleged Paleostinian incitement. "Their policy of removing [content] is very, very, very strict and the bar is set very high," the front man told The Times of Israel in July.

[IsraelTimes] Terror group accuses Abbas forces of working for Israel, says it won't stop attacks against Israelis

108 Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, members in the West Bank in one of the biggest raids in years.

According to reports in Hamas-affiliated media, the raids began early Thursday morning and continued overnight Thursday-Friday. The arrests included senior Hamas officials, according to the reports.

The raids were conducted in Hebron, Nablus and Bethlehem, Walla News reported.

Hamas front man Husam Badran told the Palinfo news site that the "crazy" security measures undertaken by Paleostinian Authority forces against Hamas in the West Bank were meant to stop the recent spate of deadly Paleostinian attacks against Israelis.

He accused Paleostinian security forces of working for Israel and said the group holds Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas

personally responsible for the "persecution and terror" applied by his forces. Hamas will continue attacks against Israelis in the West Bank, he said.

Badran also called on all factions to unite against PA measures, "which are tearing at the fabric of the Paleostinian people.

"It is our right to use all means to stop the crimes against our senior members in the West Bank," he was quoted as saying.

A front man for the Paleostinian Authority security services, Adnan Dameri, said "We will not let Hamas undermine our security and draw our country to bloodshed, we will not let Hamas carry out attacks in the West Bank."

The arrests were part of one of the biggest mass raids since 2007 when Hamas violently ousted forces loyal to Abbas from Gazoo, leaving him governing just parts of the West Bank.

There has been a sharp uptick in violent attacks against Israelis in recent weeks. At least one of the Paleostinian assailants in the spate of attacks was said to be affiliated with Hamas.

On Tuesday, 25-year-old Malachy Moshe Rosenfeld died of wounds sustained a day earlier in a shooting attack in the West Bank.

Last Sunday a Paleostinian man stabbed and seriously injured a female Israeli Border Police officer outside Jerusalem's Damascus Gate. The assailant, said to be a Hamas member or sympathizer, was shot and captured.

Last Friday a Paleostinian assailant was shot and killed by IDF soldiers after he opened fire on Israeli troops at a checkpoint in the West Bank. No soldiers were maimed in the attack.

On June 19, a 25-year-old Israeli man, Danny Gonen, died after being shot near the settlement of Dolev, northwest of Jerusalem.

Shin Bet arrests 40 Hamas members in Nablus
2015-07-02
[Ynet] Joint effort by security service, IDF, and police has uncovered cell working towards renewal of activity in the West Bank, partly financed by gold smuggled from Jordan.

The Shin Bet security service has, with the help of the IDF and Israel Police, uncovered over the last few months a large Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, cell active in the city of Nablus and surrounding towns. The news was cleared for publication on Wednesday.

The cell's leaders were working to renew Hamas activity in the West Bank, including laying the foundation for terror attacks.

The investigation also led to the discovery of a Hamas military cell that was preparing to launch attacks.

Around 40 people were jugged

, including senior Hamas members who have been placed in durance vile

repeatedly.

Questioning of the arrestees revealed that Hamas decided to renew its activities in the West Bank by creating a central headquarters in Nablus and expanding infrastructure, including the appointment of regional chiefs and allocating responsibilities in areas such as education, finance, communications, intelligence, gaining support, charity, transferring financial assistance to Hamas prisoners and their families, and laying the foundation for military action.

The investigation revealed that Husam Badran, a 49-year-old native of Nablus who lives in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, was responsible for organizing the command's members and staying in direct touch with them. Badran was apparently involved in decisions about recruitment for different roles and transferring hundreds of thousands of dollars to the command center.

The bully boyz concealed their activities by using couriers and PO boxes. Funds were transferred partially by purchasing gold from Jordan and smuggling it into the West Bank.
Update at 10:00 a.m. ET from The Times of Israel has more, including this:
The Shin Bet said Hussam Budran, operating under Saleh al-Arouri, the The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
-based head of Hamas operations in the West Bank, sent messages to the operatives in Nablus via "email channels," the Shin Bet said, apparently referring to non-direct messages, and laundered the money into gold jewelry transported into the West Bank from Jordan.

The Shin Bet and police said they found NIS four million (roughly one million dollars) in cash and gold during the arrests.

Jerusalem Terrorist Had A History Of Violence
2014-10-23
[Ynet] Abed a-Rahman a-Shaludi, 20, died of gunshot wounds after driving his car into a crowd of people at a Jerusalem train station; his family maintains that it was an accident.

The family of Abed a-Rahman a-Shaludi, who carried out the deadly attack in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, vehemently deny that he deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people at a light rail station. But 20-year-old a-Shaludi, who died hours after the attack from police gunfire, had a history of violence against Jews.

According to Paleostinian reports, a-Shaludi was released from jail in December 2013 after serving a 16-month sentence. He was locked away
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
again last February for a period of one month. He is also reportedly a close relative of the Muhi a-Din Sharif, aka "Engineer No. 2", a senior member of the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, military wing who was killed near Ramallah in 1998.

The notice posted on websites affiliated with Hamas showed a-Shaludi alongside and five-year-old Einas Khalil, a Paleostinian girl who was run over and killed this week by a resident of the Yitzhar settlement in the West Bank town of Sinjil. The settler expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, saying he was afraid of being lynched. One website's Twitter account posted the picture with the hashtag #thirdintifada.

Later Wednesday evening, a Hamas-affiliated website reported that IDF troops had arrested the terrorist's 15-year-old brother, Izz al-Din a-Shaludi, in Silwad. A Hamas front man abroad, Husam Badran, was somewhat vague Wednesday afternoon, saying that if this was indeed a terrorist attack as claimed, then it was "a natural response to the crimes of Israel in Jerusalem, particularly in light of ongoing invasions of the al-Aqsa mosque."

Terrorism background
A-Shaludi had a history of security violations. When he was 18, he was indicted, along with his brother and his friends, for targeting the Jewish residents of Silwan in East Jerusalem, and for trying to prevent police cars from entering the neighborhood.

In May 2013, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison in a plea bargain, having pleaded guilty to, and been convicted of, throwing petrol bombs at Jewish cars and at a police vehicle, attempted arson, aggravated assault, attempted assault of a policeman and rioting.

A-Shaludi confessed and was convicted under the plea bargain to one of three charges, for an incident that occurred on Nakba Day: He and his friends made Molotov cocktails, which they divided among themselves and hurled. The two charges that were dropped referred to the throwing of Molotov cocktails at Jewish residents of Silwan.

In addition, he was arrested last March on suspicion of vehicular theft.

Nevertheless,
...and at this point, in the spirit of balance and fairness, the family of the dead miscreant is allowed to vent their spleen that those Jooos jumped to the assumption that their beloved good boy would have tried his damnedest to kill Jooos with his car out of sheer meanness.

They include Nasser Batima, convicted of planning the 2002 Passover Seder suicide-bomb attack on the Park Hotel in Netanya, in which 30 civilians were killed and 140 were wounded.

Israel Radio said that the unconfirmed list also named Husam Badran, head of Hamas terrorist cells in the northern West Bank, who took part in the planning of the 2001 bombing of the Dolphinarium nightclub in Tel Aviv, in which 21 youths were murdered, the Park Hotel bombing, and the 2002 bombing of the Matza Restaurant in Haifa, in which 14 civilians lost their lives.

Other men listed were Hamas member Yehieh Sinwar, sentenced to five life sentences for his role in the kidnapping and murder of Sgt. Nachshon Wachsman. Sinwar is the brother of one of the Hamas men who planned Gilad Schalit's kidnapping, and a founding member of Hamas's military structure in Gaza. Another name on the list is Jihad Yarmur, a member of the cell that killed Wachsman during the failed bid to rescue him from his kidnappers in 1994.

Ahmed Najar, former commander of a Hamas cell that murdered three Israelis in shooting attacks, is also to be released, according to Hamas's Al-Aksa TV.

Islamic Jihad member Abd al-Hadi Gnaim, a terrorist who hijacked an Egged bus in 1989 traveling from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and drove it over a steep drop, killing 16 passengers, is also reportedly on the list.

Muhammad Shrataha, head of the cell that kidnapped and murdered Sgt. Avi Sasportas and Pvt. Ilan Sa'adon in 1989, will also reportedly soon be free.

Additional names include Fahad Shaludi, convicted of his role in the kidnap and murder of Pvt. Yaron Hen in 1993, and Muhammad Atun, Mussa Akawi and Majad Abu Katish, members of a Hamas cell that kidnapped and murdered Border Police Sgt.- Maj. Nissim Toledano in 1992.

Two men convicted of stabbing to death yeshiva student Haim Kerman in 1998 in Jerusalem, Bassam Abu Sanina and Riad Asila, are also on the list.

According to reports, Muhammad Hamada, convicted of plotting to fire a missile at the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem when it was filled with fans, will be set free. Na'el Barghouti, the Palestinian prisoner who has served the most time in an Israeli prison -- 30 years -- will be released, Hamas said.

The oldest Palestinian security prisoner, 78-year-old Sami Yunis, is also slated to be released.

In the first stage, 450 prisoners will be let go -- 280 of whom are serving life sentences. Schalit will then be sent to Israel, and another 550 prisoners -- including women -- will be released.

One of the women slated to be released was named on a list published on the website of the Al-Aksa TV channel. The woman, Ahlam Tamimi, was the first woman to join the Islamist movement and the person who drove the suicide bomber who carried out the attack at the Sbarro restaurant at the corner of King George Street and Jaffa Road in Jerusalem in August 2001. Sixteen people were killed, including five members of the Schijveschuurder family from the community of Neria in Binyamin.
