His personal guard was also injured in the attack. They both were rushed to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital where Shah succumbed to injuries. The police filed a report of the incident and started searching for the culprits. The dear departed was an active leader of the PML-N in Swat ...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers. The place has gone steadily downhill since the days when Babe Ruth was the Sultan of Swat... and was the candidate of National Assembly in the previous general elections. According to hospital sources, he received several bullets in his head. |

Law enforcers identify group behind attack on traffic policemen |

's Ayesha Manzil area belonged to a banned ...the word bannedseems to have a different meaning in Pakistain than it does in most other places. Or maybe it simply lacks any meaning at all... organization, police said on Thursday. The attackers belonged to a banned organization and was being operated from abroad, investigative sources said, adding that the group's Deputy Inspector General of Police-West Feroz Shah confirmed that the suspect involved in the attack on traffic coppers came to Karachi a few days ago. It has been reported that the same group was also involved in previous attacks on coppers. The traffic coppers identified as Shakil Ahmed and Mohammed Akram were performing their duties near Ayesha Manzil on May 21 when they were targeted. Following protocol, both were wearing their bullet-proof jackets and one was armed with an SMG. According to eyewitness accounts, two men dressed in all black and wearing helmets came riding cycle of violence and attacked the coppers. This was the year's first shooting that targeted traffic coppers. In 2015, six traffic coppers were killed in as many attacks by unknown assailants. |

Following the Supreme Court of Pakistain's directives, a special police team was formed under orders from DIG West Feroz Shah. Under the supervision of SSP West, SP Orangi was selected to lead the operation to nab Swati, added the statement. Swati had eight cell phone SIM cards registered under his name, which he had used at different times, although all were non-operational, claim police. The police party received an intelligence tip-off regarding Swati's presence in the Manghopir area of the metropolis. A raid was conducted at the given location, and Swati was arrested. Police claim to have recovered a 9mm pistol and a hand grenade from his possession. Swati has been booked under Section 353, 324 and 34 of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC) and also under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (7-ATA). Hunt for Parveen's murderers Parveen Rehman, a media-shy social worker who devoted her life to the development of the impoverished neighbourhoods across the country, was bumped off near her office in Orangi Town on March 13, 2013. The very next day, police potted a Taliban operative named Qari Bilal in an encounter and claimed that he was the murderer, resulting in closure of the case. The Supreme Court of Pakistain on April 15, 2014 ordered the authorities to conduct a fresh probe into the murder after a judicial inquiry revealed that coppers had manipulated the investigation. One of the two prime suspects in her murder, Rahim Swati, was described by police in the Supreme Court last year as "a very shrewd character" who "keeps on changing his cell numbers as well as IMEIs [international mobile equipment identity]." His son, Imran, was already arrested in the case. The other prime suspect in the case, Ahmed Khan alias Pappu Kashmiri was arrested from Mansehra ... ![]() in March 2015. The police report last year said Rahim was associated with turbans and the Taliban and during the past insurgency, he along with his family moved to some unknown place, while his house was demolished by the security forces. |

However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set... workers were killed in two separate attacks in Orangi Town Wednesday afternoon, officials said. DIG West Feroz Shah told DawnNews that eight gunnies riding four cycle of violences carried out the killings in two separate attacks in the neighbourhood. "The gunnies first opened fire on three coppers in the streets of Orangi Town, killing them all," he said, adding: "Later they rubbed out four coppers, who were sitting in a police mobile van" a few streets away. "The first incident happened while the police was escorting the polio team," Shah said. "A policeman intervened when eight men on four cycle of violences came and asked a polio worker for his name. In response, the men opened fire. Although the police fired in response, they were overpowered," he said. "The same men killed four members of another police team." Abdul Kareem, an official at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the bodies were taken, also confirmed the casualties. There are no reports of injuries or deaths of polio workers. The anti-polio campaign in the area was suspended immediately and heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies, including paramilitary Rangers, cordoned off the area. |

Terror attack on school was a prank, five students arrested |

KARACHI: Initially reported as an act of terror, the attack on a private school in North Nazimabad area of the metropolis turned out to be a firecracker explosion by high-school students, with the police arresting five students on Monday over their alleged involvement in the incident. According to DIG West Feroz Shah, five students of Educators campus-I in North Nazimabad were taken into custody after the investigation into the reported grenade attack revealed that the students brought firecrackers in a bid to play a prank, following the school administration's refusal to let them appear for upcoming examinations over non-payment of school fees. "The police took one injured student into custody for investigation, since he was the only one injured in the incident and the student confessed that he and other students had bought firecrackers which exploded accidentally," said the DIG. The incident was reported on Friday along with two other minor blasts, one at police station in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, and the other at girls’ college in Karimabad. 's North Karachi neighbourhood on Wednesday, television reports said. Unknown assailants opened fire on Alam near his home in North Karachi's Sector 11-C. Alam was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead. He's dead, Jim! after an external examination. Later, Alam's mother and sister took his body to the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH). He was shot in the head upon leaving his residence to pick his children up from school. DIG West Feroz Shah said the police recovered three 9 MM bullet casings from the site. The shooting took place near Sir Syed market and within the remits of the Sir Syed cop shoppe. Alam, 42, was unemployed for the past year and a half on account of health issues and had previously worked with Geo News. He was also reportedly associated with Samaa TV at one point. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the murder and directed the police to submit a report on the incident. He has ordered for the immediate arrest of those behind the attack. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf... condemned the attack and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul. He also directed relevant authorities to make a comprehensive security plan for journalists in Pakistain immediately. Sindh Interior Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal demanded a report about the attack from Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, while ordering immediate arrest of the murderers. Siyal further said that such attacks cannot deter the war against terrorism and Death Eaters in the province. |

Gunmen kill three cops in Karachi |

's Bhangoria Goth area, a shanty-town in the limits of the Azizabad police. The assailants managed to escape from the scene after the attack. The director-general of Rangers, Major General Bilal Akbar, also visited the attack site. Sindh's newly-appointed Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal also took notice of the incident and sought a report from DIG west Feroz Shah within two days. Rescue sources said that the coppers were performing their routine night duties when they were attacked. They added that the victims were shifted to a nearby hospital. |

In Pakistain, the Mohmands infest their eponymous Agency, metastasizing as far as the plains of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar, Charsadda, and Mardan. Mohmands are also scattered throughout Pakistan in urban areas including Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta. In Afghanistan they are mainly found in Nangarhar and Kunar... Agency from Afghanistan overnight, officials said. They said that personnel of Khasadar Force and Frontier Corps, manning a checkpost in the Olay area, challenged the beturbanned goons when they were entering Baizai tehsil at about 8:15pm. According to the officials the beturbanned goons had entered Olay from Nazarkhel area across the border and were proceeding towards Atam Kallay. The security forces targeted them with heavy weapons and started shelling from the nearby posts to force them to surrender, but they beat feet in the dark. "At least three beturbanned goons were killed and four to five were maimed in the shelling by security forces," officials said. They said that security forces accompanied by members of Atmarkhel Peace Committee visited the area in the morning and found stains of blood there. Security forces also recovered one hand grenade, two magazines and other things from the spot. The mortar shells hit three houses in the area, they added. They said that a man identified as Muneer was killed in the incident. The injured were identified as Asma Bibi, Fatima Bibi, Nausheen Bibi, Kiran Bibi, Sumera Bibi, Sakina, Aftab and Shafaat. They were shifted to combined military hospital in Kohat for treatment. It is important to mention here that eight alleged beturbanned goons were placed in durance vile on Sunday during a raid on an Afghan refugees camp, situated near the border between Kohat district and Shindhad tribal area. Sources said that the placed in durance vile snuffies were involved in attacks on the vehicles of rustics, who were fleeing the area. The mortar attack on the residential area coincided with the daylong visit of Inspector General of Police Akbar Khan Hoti to Kohat. The IGP urged people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in curbing militancy in the region. The residents of Jawaki area have been migrating to safer places for the last few months owing to rocket and mortar attacks on their houses by jihad boys. In Swat, the local peace jirga has demanded arrest of reuniting terrorists, who had decamped the district after a military operation, to bring them to justice. The demand was made by chief of Nekpekhel Peace Committee Saifullah Khan during a presser in Mingora on Monday. Flanked by Feroz Shah, Ibrahim Dewlai, Inamur Rehman and Zaheen Khan, he said that suspected snuffies released from prisons might be involved in attacks on volunteers of peace committee. Terrorists would not be allowed to disturb peace of Swat, he added. Mr Khan termed attack on Karimul Hadi, general secretary of the committee, a cowardice act. "Such acts of snuffies will never plunge the high morale of the elders of the committee," he said. He said that peace in Swat ![]() was restored after great sacrifices of lives and properties. "We will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with army for maintenance of peace and elimination of last terrorist," he added. Mr Khan said that snuffies were trying to regroup in Swat but people would foil their evil designs. He demanded of the government and security forces to arrest all terrorists, either hiding in Pakistain or in other countries, to bring them to justice. |

At least seven coppers were maimed, two of them seriously, in a series of mysterious blasts inside Gulbahar cop shoppe on the main G.T. Road here on Monday, police said. They said that the kabooms also destroyed two rooms on the first floor and smashed windowpanes of the entire building. Capital City Police Officer Liaquat Ali later told media persons that according to preliminary investigation the kabooms were caused by gas accumulated in a gutter or electricity short circuiting. One of the rooms was being used as a store for electrical gadgets, he said, but did not give details of the gadgets or the extent of damage. However, The wishy-washy However... another high-ranking police official, pleading anonymity, said that the costly detectors, bomb disposal suits, bomb locators, X-ray machine and other such sensitive items were given for the bomb disposal unit by donor agencies and stored in the room. He claimed that all the bomb disposal suits, valued at Rs4 million a piece, were gutted. The official said that the incident might have happened due to negligence. An eyewitness, SSP Tauseef Haider, told Dawn that he was sitting in his office on the second floor in the adjacent building of the cop shoppe that he heard a huge kaboom followed by five other blasts at about 4:30pm. "The fist blast was severe," he said. SP Shaukat Raza also gave similar comments, saying that he heard about five blasts, but did not know as to what exactly had happened inside the cop shoppe. A source in the Lady Reading Hospital identified the injured police officials as Jahangir Khan, Mohammad Israil, Nisar Khan, Arif Khan, Feroz Shah, Mohammad Ayaz and Alamzeb Khan. A front man of rescue 1122 services said that the firefighters extinguished the fire within 30 minutes. It was confirmed that no case of the incident was registered by the cop shoppe concerned till late in the night. The blasts also caused severe traffic jam on both sides of the G.T. Road, as one lane of the road was closed for traffic for over one hour. |

Police arrest Afghan suspected of involvement in Sherpao attack | |

The police on Friday arrested a man suspected of involvement in a number of terrorist activities, including a suicide attack on former federal interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, a police official said. Police took the suspected militant named Dawood, an Afghan national, into custody after they found him lying unconscious in sugarcane fields, Charsadda District Police Officer (DPO) Feroz Shah Khan told reporters. Elaborating the backdrop to the arrest, Khan said extremists attacked a police checkpost here on Thursday night. Two militants were killed in the crossfire that ensued, while two others managed to get away.
The DPO said Dawood was suspected of involvement in a number of terrorist activities, including the suicide attack on Sherpao and target killing in Charsadda. An Afghan Foreign Ministry service card was among the cards found in Dawoods possession, he added. | |

Protest: Around 800 people from various villages staged a protest demonstration, carrying Khans body at Kanjoo Chowk. They blocked the road for more than two hours. Addressing the protestors, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and ANP candidates for the provincial assembly, Feroz Shah and Dr Shamsher Ali, condemned the killing and demanded the killers arrest. They said the government was seeking cooperation from the local people, but could not provide them security. The protestors dispersed after elders held talks with military officials at the Saidu Sharif Airport. Khan was later buried in Imam Dheri. Talking to Daily Times, Mingora Media Information Centre in-charge Colonel Nadeem said the incident was regretful. He said the military would enhance patrol and increase the number of checkposts in the area. Three children were injured in security forces artillery fire on suspected Taliban hideouts in the Dewlai and Totano Bandai areas in Swat on Monday. Officials did not confirm the civilian casualties. Sources said the shelling followed intelligence reports that important militant commanders were holding a secret meeting at a house. Locals said six houses were partially damaged and three children were injured. There were no reports of militant casualties when this report was filed. |

Blast destroys CD shops in Charsadda |

CHARSADDA: An explosion on Tuesday destroyed the Singeet Nigar CDs Centre and partially damaged dozens of nearby shops in the Shabqadar area of Charsadda district, police said. According to Charsadda police, the locally made bomb weighed two kilograms. Charsadda District Police Officer Feroz Shah visited the bomb scene and directed investigators to expose those behind the blast. Earlier, CD shops in the Shabqadar area received anonymous letters asking their owners to shut down their businesses. The letters stated that the business was un-Islamic. The blast was the first one since the letters were received. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started an investigation. Agencies add: The bomb exploded at 4am, completely obliterating two shops and partially destroying 10 others. There were no casualties. |
