U.S. has 'no right' to Syrian oil, adviser to President Assad says
2019-12-26
[NBC News] DAMASCUS, Syria ‐ A top adviser to Syria’s president says the United States has no right to Syria’s oil and has warned of "operations" against American troops guarding the oil fields.

Bouthaina Shaaban, who is a political and media adviser to Bashar al-Assad, recently told NBC News that the U.S. has "absolutely no right; it is our oil."

"He’s talking about stealing it," she added in her office at Syria's presidential palace in Damascus, referring to President Donald Trump’s declaration earlier this year that the U.S. would "keep" Syrian oil.

In October, the Trump administration announced plans to withdraw some 1,000 troops from Syria, amounting to most of the U.S. military presence in the country. But he later reversed course, approving an expanded military mission to secure an expanse of oil fields across eastern Syria.

Shaaban went on to warn of "popular opposition and operations against the American occupiers of our oil."

Syrian Army approaches Turkish observation post in Hama: video
2019-08-25

, Bouthaina Shaaban, told the al-Mayadeen broadcaster.

"The Ottoman Turkish observation point in the settlement of Morek is under siege. The Syrian army will be able to eliminate Ottoman Turkish observation points and terrorists," Shaaban said on Friday.

She pointed out that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

was supplying terror groups with weapons.

"Turkey has not complied with the agreements, signed in Astana [currently, Nur-Sultan] and turned the observation points into facilities, used for redeploying weapons and occupying our territories," Shaaban added.

... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
has been seeking to bring the Moslem Brüderbund* into the government in Syria.

"What Erdogan is still trying to do and wanted to do before the beginning of this war against Syria is the recognition of the Moslem Brüderbund and making it a part of Syrian authorities ... Today, Erdogan, acting through the so-called opposition, the majority of which is, of course, loyal to him, is seeking to determine the name which would ensure that the Moslem Brüderbund has a voice in the Syrian government", Shaaban said in an interview with the broadcaster Al Mayadeen.

Shaaban continued by noting that religious parties are not allowed in the Syria as it is a secular pluralist state.

The adviser noted that the Ottoman Turkish president had been trying to implement the same scheme, including bringing members of the Moslem Brüderbund members into the government, in some other states, too.

The statement comes after Assad said in an address on 17 February that Erdogan was a "little slave of the United States" and hinted at the Ottoman Turkish president’s affiliation with the Islamist organization.

The Moslem Brüderbund is considered a terror group by Syria and a number of other regional states. However,

some regional players believe that Ankara supports the group. Erdogan has said that the Moslem Brüderbund is an ideological organization and should not be treated as a terror group.

Bouthaina Shaaban said in remarks published on the Leb-based al-Mayadeen website that the victory marks the beginning of the end of the American empire.

"The breaking of their evil aggression is the beginning of the vanishing of their empire, which will be replaced by new forces which respects the humanity, illusory sovereignty and safety of peoples," she said.

Syrian army, allies, take last IS stronghold in Syria
2017-11-09
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syria’s army and its allies captured ISIS’s last stronghold in Syria on Wednesday, a commander in the alliance said, bringing the self-declared caliphate close to complete downfall.

"The last stronghold of ISIS (ISIS), al Bukamal, is free of the ISIS organization," said the commander in the military alliance supporting Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Trampler of Homs...
ISIS has been all but destroyed over the past two years. At the height of its power in 2015, it ruled an expanse of Iraq and Syria, eradicating the border, printing money, imposing draconian laws and plotting attacks across the world.

On Wednesday, after a months-long advance through central and eastern Syria, the Syrian army and allied Shi’ite militias encircled and attacked al Bukamal.

Syrian state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
declared "al Bukamal is liberated". But a war monitor, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said it was not true that al Bukamal was taken and there was still fighting in the area.

Al Bukamal is located on the border with Iraq on the bank of the Euphrates. During the battle, Hezbollah forces entered Iraq and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces crossed into Syria to help capture the town, the commander said.

ISIS retains control over some areas of desert and villages nearby, as well as a town and some other villages in adjacent areas of Iraq, and in scattered pockets elsewhere in both countries.

Continuing threat
Despite its losses, ISIS still has a territorial presence in Libya and elsewhere, and many governments expect it to remain a threat even after it loses the caliphate it declared from djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq, in 2014.

It has already carried out guerrilla operations in both Iraq and in Syria, and has continued to inspire lone bully boyz to attack civilian targets in the West.

In Syria, the end of major operations against ISIS may only prefigure a new phase of the war, as the rival forces which have seized territory from the bully boyz square off.

The Syrian army, alongside Hezbollah and other Shi’ite militias, and backed by Iran and Russia, have seized swathes of central and eastern Syria in the advance against ISIS this year.

Russian official media have in recent weeks reported a surge of strategic bombing and cruise missile strikes on ISIS targets in eastern Syria as the army advanced.

A US-backed coalition has supported a rival campaign by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias that have pushed ISIS from much of the country’s north and east.

New phase of war
The Syrian government has sworn to recapture territory held by the SDF, including ISIS’s former capital Raqqa and oil and gas fields east of the Euphrates.

In areas controlled by the SDF in northern Syria, Kurdish-led groups have established autonomy, announcing elections and setting internal policies.

On Tuesday, Bouthaina Shaaban, a senior adviser to Assad, described the US forces aiding the SDF as illegal invaders. Washington has not spelled out how its military support for the SDF would evolve after ISIS’s defeat.

Shaaban also pointed, in a television interview, to the example of Iraq, where the government retaliated against an autonomous Kurdish region after it held an independence referendum.

Iraqi military officials say small groups of ISIS bully boyz are still entrenched in the town of Rawa and the border desert strip with Syria. Scattered villages near al-Qaim, close to Al Bukamal, are still under krazed killer control in an area called Rummana.

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), an alliance of militias, earlier on Wednesday denied it had crossed the Syrian border and was attacking al Bukamal.

"Our movements are carried out under orders from the commander in chief of the armed forces and our key objective is to liberate Iraq’s territories from ISIS. We have no orders to cross the borders," PMF front man Ahmed al-Asadi said.

Pentagon: Russia knowingly hit US-backed SDF in Syria
2017-09-17
[Al Jazeera] Russian air strikes have targeted US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces and coalition advisers east of the Euphrates River in Syria's Deir Az Zor province, according to the Pentagon.

Saturday's incident maimed several SDF fighters, but the coalition advisers were unharmed, it said in a statement.

"Russian munitions impacted a location known to the Russians to contain Syrian Democratic Forces and coalition advisers," the Pentagon said.

Russia's military front man earlier denied targeting SDF, an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters.

"This is not possible. Why would we bomb them?" Igor Konashenkov, Russia's military front man, told AFP news agency at the Hmeimim base, Moscow's main outpost for its air operations in Syria.

The attack was first reported by the SDF in a statement, which accused the Syrian government - backed by Russia air force - of trying to obstruct its fighters as both of the forces battle the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. of Iraq and the Levant in oil-rich Deir Az Zor province - ISIS's last major foothold in Syria.

Such attacks "waste energies that should be used against terrorism ... and open the door to side conflicts", it said.

On Friday, Bouthaina Shaaban, top adviser to Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

, told al-Manar television that it was up to Russia and the US to see that the SDF and Syria's army do not clash.

"Whether it's the SDF, ISIS, or any illegitimate foreign forces ... we will work against them until all our land is liberated," she told the channel, which is run by allied Lebanese movement Hezbollah, referring to ISIS using its Arabic acronym ISIS.

"It's the role of Russia and America to see that this confrontation doesn't take place," she said.

ISIS kills 18 regime soldiers, militiamen near Tayfur airport
2016-12-25
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] ISIS killed 18 Syrian soldiers and allied snuffies in a series of attacks near Tayfur military airport in the eastern countryside of Homs province, the group's Amaq new agency said Saturday.

Saturday's corpse count come after 27 more fighters loyal to Bashar al-Asssad were killed in a series of ISIS attacks near Palmyra in the past 24 hours, activists said.
in the battleground of the eastern countryside of Homs.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said ISIS began launching attacks on regime forces and their allies Thursday night and that festivities were ongoing.

ISIS targeted several villages with a majority population from al-Assad's Alawite clan, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, said Observatory head Rami Abdel-Rahman.

One of the attacks on al-Masoudiya village, the hometown of al-Assad’s first advisor, Bouthaina Shaaban, has also left 13 people killed and 15 more maimed, sources said.

The radical group that seizes swaths of territory in eastern Homs, including the historic city f Palmyra and gas-rich fields, has annoyed regime cerebration over Aleppo capture. Pro-regime activists said the risk of new ISIS advances may cause more causalities as ISIS shows stubborn.

The murderous Moslems were trying to "totally surround" the Tayfur military airport and "cut its supply route," said Abdel-Rahman.

ISIS took advantage of bad weather that halted regime’s air strikes by pressing more gains especially near the strategic military air base.

The opposition-aligned, Britannia-based Observatory said the base is located between the cities of Palmyra and Homs in central Syria.

The snuffies retook Palmyra in central Syria on Dec. 11, just eight months after the army backed by Russia drove them out.

Since then festivities have rattled the region and Monday attacks by ISIS on the Tayfur base killed at least 20 regime force members, according to the Observatory.

Palmyra is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its recapture by ISIS gave the murderous Moslems a propaganda boost as they face assaults on two of their key strongholds ‐ Raqqa in Syria and Iraq's second city djinn-infested Mosul

Iran transfers all wounded fighters from Aleppo University Hospital: source
2016-08-11
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps moved their maimed fighters from Aleppo University Hospital to unknown place in the divided city of Aleppo, well-informed sources said Wednesday.

Hezbollah maimed were among the transferees, the source revealed.

Iran has own medical department in the government-held hospital in western Aleppo city.

The move came days after Syrian resistance broke a month-long siege on Saturday where almost 275,00 people had been trapped in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo.

Two leaked records by Hezbollah myrmidon on the battlefields of Aleppo city claimed that the Lebanese militia fighters were the only ones who kept fighting the Syrian resistance forces in the siege-break battles.

Syrian regime forces have a low morale and most of them fled their bastions with backed Iranian fighters, according to the audio tape.

The criticism for Syrian army droop and decay was not the first. Two years ago Bashir al-Assad's first adviser, Bouthaina Shaaban, slammed Hezbollah for claims that its forces are the real force fighting Syrian resistance.

UN: Syrian government still holding up food aid for besieged Daraya
2016-06-08
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
is still waiting for Syrian government agreement for an aid convoy to enter the besieged town of Daraya, UN officials said on Tuesday.

"The blockage of aid is a political issue," UN front man Ahmad Fawzi told a regular UN briefing in Geneva. "Daraya is 12 km (7.5 miles) from Damascus, so it can be done but we need the political go-ahead from the government."

Last week Syria's government, under pressure from its ally Russia and other countries belonging to the International Syria Support Group overseeing the grinding of the peace processor, allowed the first UN aid convoy into Daraya since late 2012.

It brought baby milk and medical supplies to support an estimated 4,000 civilians, just in time for Syria to meet a Thursday deadline to improve aid access or face having aid deliveries imposed by air drops.

But the convoy took no food to Daraya, where the UN has said malnourished children will die without outside help. UN officials had hoped food would arrive in a second convoy on Friday, but that was delayed with no government approval.

Jens Laerke, front man for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said the government had later given partial approval for the food convoy.

"That is not good enough," he said. "We are reverting to the government."

Syria's opposition says the government approved the first convoy in a cynical ploy to alleviate international pressure.

has said.

"The current US administration wants to find a solution to the crisis in Syria. There is a tacit agreement between the US and Russia to reach this solution," Bouthaina Shaaban said in an interview with state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
late Wednesday.

"The US recognises now that Russia has profound knowledge of this region and a better assessment of the situation," she said.

"The current international climate is heading towards detente and towards a solution for the crisis in Syria."

Shaaban said there was a "change in the West's positions" over Syria's war, which has killed more than 240,000 people and displaced millions since 2011.

Russia, a decades-long backer of Syria's regime, has said it would not accept Assad's departure as a prerequisite for launching any grinding of the peace processor in the war-torn country.
