Iran Commander: Afghan Border Closure Plan ‘Progressing Rapidly’ |
2025-01-05 |
How nice. An actual win for Iran — they haven’t had any in a while. [ToloNews] Ali Karimi, one of the commanders of Iran's Border Force, stated that all of the country’s eastern borders, including the shared border with Afghanistan, are being managed round-the-clock using smart equipment.Karimi also mentioned that significant progress has been made in constructing barriers and building walls along the Afghanistan-Iran ![]() spontaneouslytaking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militiasto extend the regime's influence. They hate border. The Iranian border commander added, "Despite the harsh climatic conditions of the region, the project to seal the border between the two countries is being carried out rapidly and has made good physical progress." Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni also announced that the draft law for the country's National Migration Organization has been prepared and sent to the Islamic Consultative Assembly. He emphasized the importance of this law in regulating migration affairs and expressed hope for its approval. The Interior Minister stated about the draft law: "We had a draft in the previous parliament regarding this matter which did not reach a conclusion. Now, the draft has been prepared by the Ministry of Interior, and we hope the parliament will approve the National Migration Organization's bill." "In my opinion, this is an important step because, based on this draft, Iran has global responsibilities to respect the rights of Afghan "The movement of Afghans between Afghanistan and Iran will decrease. On the other hand, the accusations made by Iran against Afghanistan will also be addressed. The more the borders are fortified, the more it will benefit both countries," said Jannat Faheem Chakari, a military analyst. Earlier, a commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces also stated that 35 kilometers of fencing along the eastern borders with Afghanistan have been completed. As a result, Afghan movements along this border strip have decreased by 50%, Iranian officials claimed. Iran uses electronic equipment to monitor Afghanistan border January 2, 2025 [KhaamaPress] An Iranian border commander stated that the country’s borders with Afghanistan are being monitored and controlled around the clock using smart electronic equipment. Ali Karimi also mentioned that significant progress has been made in the construction of the border wall between the two countries. According to IRNA, Ali Karimi, the Iranian commander in Torbat-e Jam, said, “Despite the harsh weather conditions in the region, the plan to close the border strip between the two countries is progressing rapidly and has seen good physical progress.” Mehdi Shirdel, the governor of Taybad, also reported that the operation to block the 300-kilometer border strip between Iran and Afghanistan in Khorasan Razavi province is ongoing. According to him, this project involves constructing a four-meter-high wall with barbed wire placed on top. Taybad County shares a 90-kilometer border with Afghanistan, and due to the presence of the Dogharoun border crossing, this area holds special economic significance for Iran. At the same time, this route has become one of the main pathways for human trafficking into Iran, highlighting the complexities of border security efforts. The ongoing construction of the border wall and the deployment of high-tech surveillance systems are part of Iran’s broader efforts to control migration and curb illegal activities like human trafficking. However, the complex social, economic, and political factors driving migration must also be addressed to mitigate the flow of people across the border. While the physical barriers and surveillance measures may reduce illegal crossings, they do not solve the root causes of migration, such as poverty, conflict, and lack of opportunities in Afghanistan. A more comprehensive approach, combining both border control and humanitarian support, is necessary to address the full scope of the issue and ensure that migrants are treated with dignity and respect. |

UK arrests three Afghan men on human trafficking charges |
2025-01-01 |
[KhaamaPress] The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) reported on Monday the arrest of "three Afghan men" for trafficking refugees through ![]() , Iran, and the Balkans to Western Europe. The men face charges related to sexual crimes, including the rape of young refugee boys and blackmailing them. The three men are part of a human trafficking ring that has been bringing thousands of refugees, mainly to La Belle France and Belgium, before smuggling them across the English Channel to the UK in small boats. After a two-year joint investigation by Belgian police and the UK NCA, the traffickers were finally arrested in South London. Ziyarmal Khan, 24, also known as "Boxer Bai," was the first member of the gang to be detained on December 6th at Stansted Airport in London. On December 18th, Zeeshan Bangash, 20, was arrested in Kentish New Road, London, and the third suspect, Saifur Rahman Ahmadzai, 23, also known as "President Hamza," was arrested on December 30th in Hampstead, UK. The UK NCA stated that the gang filmed their sexual abuse of young refugee boys and extorted money from them. Last month, a Belgian court sentenced the three Afghan traffickers, along with 20 other gang members, to a combined 170 years in prison. Ahmadzai received 10 years, while Khan and Bangash each received three years in prison and a €3,000 fine. The men were convicted in absentia. The plight of Afghan refugees, fleeing violence and persecution, remains dire, with many becoming victims of human trafficking along their perilous journeys. Despite international efforts, these vulnerable individuals often face exploitation, with traffickers taking advantage of their desperation for safety. As the UK continues to be a primary destination for Afghan refugees, there has been an alarming rise in deportations and the tightening of borders. This, coupled with the ongoing instability in Afghanistan, leaves many refugees caught in a cycle of displacement, struggling for a sense of security and justice. The international community must do more to protect refugees and dismantle the trafficking networks exploiting their vulnerability. |

Anti-Taliban groups come together and call to resist with all means |
2023-05-12 |
Jaw-jaw instead of war-war. BLUF: there was a conference with unnamed participants except Ahmad Massoud, front man of the National Resistance Front. This is the second annual — hopefully in the coming year the resistance will be more effective than they were in the past. [GlobalVoices] The Second Vienna Conference on Afghanistan was held from April 24 to 26 with the participation of nearly 30 anti-Taliban![]() students... political figures, rights activists, and military commanders. At the end of the conference, the participants issued a declaration to support all forms of resistance against the Taliban and called on the international community to recognize and support of all forms of resistance. Another important outcome was the announcement of plans to create a single national umbrella organization against the Taliban. The conference participants also drew attention to the systematic exclusion of women from the public sphere as gender apartheid and condemned the UN's silence around the current situation of women and girls in Afghanistan. Michael McCaul, US Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, responded to the conference by commending "the efforts of the anti-Taliban forces to unite against the Taliban's oppression, especially the oppression of Afghan women and girls and the Afghan allies of the United States." As the international community is starting to discuss how to engage with the Taliban, the importance of the Vienna conference will continue to grow. According to Ali Maisam Nazary, the Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance® Front of Afghanistan (NRF), the main military resistance group to the Taliban, the purpose of the conference was to build trust and unity between political, civil, and military actors opposed to the Taliban. The conference remains the only platform for the opposition to discuss the current crisis in Afghanistan, speak with one voice, and remind the world of the alternative to Taliban rule there. ANTI-TALIBAN RESISTANCE IS UNIFYING This meeting was a follow-up of the First Vienna Conference held in September 2022. It was organized one year after the Afghan government’s collapse on August 15, 2021, which culminated in the escape of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... Ahmadzai, Afghanistan’s president at the time, from the country. The first conference brought together Afghanistan’s political figures, women’s rights activists, former members of the parliament, journalists, and academics. It concluded with the issuance of a declaration that highlighted political, economic, social, and humanitarian issues brought up by the Taliban rule in the country. The Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, on August 15, 2021, after 20 years of fighting against the US backed government. The collapse of the Afghan government came after the Doha Agreement, signed between the US and the Taliban on February 29, 2020, without the involvement of the Afghan government. It led to the withdrawal of NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... forces from the country, exposing Afghan National Security Forces vulnerable to the Taliban attacks. Afghanistan has seen drastic negative changes in the past 21 months since the Taliban came to power. The backsliding has taken place in all spheres of life, including systemic violation of women's and human rights ...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you... , assassination and torture of former militaries, forceful displacement of people from their homes, and ethnic discrimination. All the political power is concentrated in the hands of the Pashtun tribe, to which the Taliban belong. 2022-05-08 |
Let us hope that the wobbly verb tenses in this article are merely the result of imperfect language skills, and not an indicator of promises made with no intention of being kept. [ToloNews] The Nimroz education department said that female teachers who lost their jobs following the fall of the previous government will be reinstated.According to the officials of the education department of Nimroz, the teachers will be employed at schools in need. [ToloNews] For the first time since the former government fell, the air force under the Islamic Emirate conducted a military maneuver in the northern province of Balkh on Monday.Amanuddin Mansoor, commander of the air force, said the pilots who were trained and serving under the former government and who fled the country should return and they will be recruited back into the air force. "In the near future we will collect information from all the airports to see how many active and damaged choppers we have, and also how many pilots we have who are willing to work and how many are not. We request that those who have left the country return and serve their people," Mansoor said. Many pilots who were trained and served under the former government have left the country. In the maneuvers in Balkh, the Islamic Emirate’s pilots used MI-17 and MD choppers that the US had provided to the air force of the previous government. A number of the former government’s air force members, especially technical personnel, are now working for the air force under the Islamic Emirate in Balkh province. "All the air force personnel are ready to fly in every condition and weather. They have kept the choppers active with limited equipment, and they are working closely with us," said Sayed Mohammad Ahmadzai, an air force commander. "Our engineers resolve technical problems and are working here to serve the country," said Mohammad Ikram Stanikzai, an air force officer.
