The duo was arrested during naka checking while a case under UA (P) Act & Arms Act has been registered, a police front man said in a statement.

"On a specific information regarding movement of ~~bandidos~~ holy warriors in Town Baramulla who are likely to carry out terrorist activities in Town in view of forth coming Independence Day 2023, Joint forces of Baramulla Police, 53 Bn CRPF & Army 46 RR placed a MVCP at Azadgunj Old Town Baramulla," the police statement said.

"Two suspect persons who were coming towards Azadgunj Baramulla tried to flee while noticing the joint naka party, but were apprehended tactfully," it added.

During their personal search, one Pistol, one Pistol Magazine, four live Pistol rounds & one grenade were recovered from their possession and were taken into custody immediately.

The duo was identified as Faisal Majeed Ganie, son of Abdul Majeed of Bungalow Bagh Baramulla & Nourul Kamran Ganie, son of Mohammad Akbar Ganie of Bagh-e-Islam Old Town Baramulla.

"During preliminary investigation it came forth that both the individuals are hybrid ~~bandidos~~ holy warriors and are affiliated with the banned terrorist organization of LeT outfit and had collected the arms & ammunition for carrying terrorist activities in Town Baramulla in view of forthcoming Independence Day," the statement said.

A case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations were taken.

was rubbed out by police and security forces during a shootout in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday, police said. A policeman was also maimed in the firefight.

"Acting on a specific input regarding the presence of a terrorist in village Hawoora area of Kulgam, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by J&K Police, Army (1st RR) and CRPF (18 Bn) in the said area," said a police front man, in a statement.

"During the search operation, as the joint search party approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorist fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party, in which one J&K police personnel got injured who was subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment. The hiding terrorist was also given an opportunity to surrender, however he kept on firing on the joint forces. The fire was effectively retaliated, leading to an encounter."

In the ensuing encounter, a local terrorist linked with proscribed terrorist outfit al-Badr was killed and his body was retrieved from the site of encounter. He has been identified as Adil Majeed Lone son of Abdul Majeed Lone resident of Akbarabad Hawoora, Kulgam, said the front man.

"Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 Pistol with live ammunition and a Grenade were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation."

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress. "People are requested to cooperate with Police till the area at encounter site is completely sanitized and cleared of all the kabooms, if any," added the front man.

Police attach properties of militant associates

[Daily Excelsior] Police in Bandipora today attached the properties of two murderous Moslem associates for harbouring snuffies and providing logistic support to them.

A police front man said that in presence of Executive Magistrate they attached double storied residential houses of Abdul Majeed Reshi father of accused Aijaz Ahmad Reshi alias Doctor at Gundpora Rampura and Mohammad Jamal Malik father of accused Maqsood Ahmad Malik, resident of Chitteybandey of Aragam Bandipora.

The front man said that both the accused persons were murderous Moslem associates and are already arrested.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the busted murderous Moslem module of AGuH was being handled by Ahsaan Dar and one individual named Chaudhary from across the border (PoK). State-run APP reported that since Thursday, India has arrested several prominent Islamic scholars, including Maulana Sarjan Barkati, Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri and Abdul Majeed Dar Almadni, and booked them under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

The draconian PSA allows detention without charges for up to two years.

"This all is aimed to force Kashmiris to forsake their demand for freedom," APP quoted Mahmood Ahmad Sagar, convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter, as saying.

It said that arrests under the draconian PSA were a "deplorable preemptive step" by Indian authorities planning to "illegally occupy" religiously significant waqf board properties.

"Apprehensive of widespread protests and unrest in the face of such a malicious move, these scholars have not only been unjustifiably arrested but shifted from [Indian-occupied] Kashmir to a prison in the Hindu-majority Jammu.

"These politically motivated arrests are clearly meant to stifle the voice of the Moslems of IoK and further marginalise them," the FO said.

It added that Pakistain called for the immediate release of the scholars and other illegally detained Kashmiri prisoners.

"We also urge the international community to take note of the dangerously growing trajectory of Islamophobia

Bomb in City of Lahore Kills 2, Wounds 26

The blast was so powerful that it damaged several shops at the famous Anarkali bazar, two witnesses, Mohammad Hafeez and Abdul Majeed, told news hounds. Video footage from the scene showed burning cycle of violences and victims crying out for help. The killed and maimed included passers-by, shoppers or local store owners.

According to Abid Khan, a senior police official, some of the maimed were listed as being at death's door and there were fears the corpse count could climb further.

Police were still trying to determine what kind of device was used in the attack, Khan added. An investigation was underway.

Hours after the attack, the newly formed Balochistan Nationalist Army said it was behind the bombing. The group was established earlier this month, when two minor separatist groups — the Balochistan Republican Army and the United Baluch Army — merged and appointed Mureed Baloch as their front man.

Baloch grabbed credit for the Lahore attack in a posting on Twitter. He did not reveal the motives for the attack, saying only that a statement will be issued later.

POLICE STATEMENT:
Based on a specific input regarding presence of a terrorist in village Mominhall Aarwani area of Bijbehara Anantnag, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, 1stRR and 90Bn CRPF in the said area.

During the search operation, as the presence of the trapped terrorist got ascertained, he was given ample opportunities to surrender. However, he denied the surrender opportunities and instead fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to an encounter.

In the ensuing encounter, one terrorist identified as Shahzad Ahmad Seh son of Bashir Ahmad Seh resident of Sehpora Kulgam was killed and his body was retrieved from the site of encounter.

As per police records, the killed terrorist was a categorized terrorist linked with proscribed terror outfit HM and was part of groups involved in several terror crime cases. He was involved in the following killings:-

• Police Inspector Mohammad Ashraf Bhat of Chandpora Kanelwan Anantnag at his residence on 19.10.2020.

• 03 BJP workers at YK-Pora Kulgam on 29.10.2020.

• BJP Sarpanch and his Wife at Lal-Chowk Anantnag on 09.08.2021.

Besides, he was also involved in attack on DDC candidate Anees ul Islam Ganie at Sagam Kokernag on 04.12.2020 and in snatching weapon from a constable at Shamispora crossing in Khudwani area of Kulgam on 25.07.2021. Moreover, he was involved in various grenade lobbing incidents and attacks on security establishments in Anantnag and Kulgam areas.

Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 AK 47 Rifle, 02 AK Magazines, 40 AK rounds and a Grenade were recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.

Police have registered case under relevant sections of law and investigation has been initiated. People are requested to cooperate with Police till the area at encounter site is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials, if any.

Meanwhile, Police along with 50RR & 181Bn CRPF have arrested two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT from Chadoora area of Budgam. They have been identified as Imran Majeed Magray son of Abdul Majeed resident of Magray Mohalla Mochwa and Aqib Amin son of Mohammad Amin Rather resident of Magray Mohalla Mochwa.

Incriminating material of terrorist outfit LeT, 02 Hand Grenades, 02 AK-47 Magazines, 30 live AK-47 rounds were recovered from their possession.

During preliminary investigation, it surfaced that both the arrested terrorist associates have been in touch with LeT commanders and were involved in providing logistics support to terrorists including providing shelter, transportation of arms & ammunition in the areas of Mochwa, Kralpora, Chattergam, Sathsoo, Nowgam, Chadoora and other areas of the district.

In this connection a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation is going on.

Besides Salahuddin, the court also summoned Muhammad Shafi Shah, Talib Lali, Gulam Nabi Khan, Umer Farooq Shera, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Zaffar Hussain Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Dar, Abdul Majeed Sofi and Mubarak Shah.

The ED also attached several properties during the investigation.

According to the ED, the accused persons, "in connivance with co-conspirators and associates, carried out several terrorist acts, raised, collected and received funds from Pakistain through different medium for its expenditure and distribution to active cadres of HM and other terrorist outfits, purchase of material used for explosives and terrorist acts and abetment of terrorist acts".

Police arrests 2 militants in south Kashmir

Police in a series of operations arrested two categorised active forces of Evil of proscribed terror outfit LeT (TRF) in south Kashmir on Monday. Police said it has busted a terror module in Baramulla by arresting three terrorist associates, it said in a statement. "Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession", police said.

The police statement said that acting on "specific information about presence of terrorists, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, 53RR and 183Bn CRPF in the orchards of village Mirgund, Rohmu area of Pulwama". During the search, movement of a terrorist hiding in apple orchards was noticed who tried to escape but was apprehended tactfully by the joint parties exercising maximum restraint. He was identified as Sarwir Ahmad Mir resident of Bathen, Khrew and linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT (TRF). Incriminating materials including two grenades were recovered from his possession, police said.

During the search operation, one categorized terrorist identified as Hafiz Abdullah Malik resident of Ganjipora Mirbazar linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT (TRF) was arrested, police said. Incriminating materials arms and ammunition including 1 AK-56 rifle, 2 AK-56 magazines, 40 AK live rounds, 1 Chinese Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine, 7 live pistol rounds and 1 pouch were recovered from his possession.

In Baramulla, during the course of investigation of case FIR No. 232/2021 pertaining to attack by forces of Evil on Area Domination Patrol party (ADP) of Police and 46RR in last week of October 2021 in Cherdari area of Baramulla in which one terrorist was killed in retaliation, Baramulla Police zeroed in on some suspects, police said.

During the course of further investigation, a joint team of Police and security forces arrested three terrorist associates identified as Asgar Majeed Lone son of Abdul Majeed resident of Gulshanabad Azadgunj, Asif Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Bagh-e-Islam Baramulla and Faizan Rasool Gojri son of Gh Rasool resident of Syeed Kareem Baramulla.

On the disclosures of the arrested terrorist associates, especially those of Asgar Majeed, joint party of police and security forces recovered one grenade and 24 rounds of AK-47. Further investigation is in progress. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has congratulated the joint team of police and security forces for "showing utmost patience and exhibiting professionalism, which resulted in saving two lives. He once again reiterates that Police is committed to provide opportunity to misguided youth to shun the path of violence and return to mainstream", the IGP said.
