Hamas leader Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa killed in airstrike, IDF says |

[NYPOST] Israel's military ''eliminated'' a founding Hamas![]() military leader and criminal mastermind behind the Oct. 7 attack, Tel Aviv officials said Saturday. Hakham Muhammad Issa al-Issa was killed during a targeted ... KABOOM!... on the Sabra neighborhood of Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... City, Israel Defense Forces said. Al-Issa was one of the final remaining founding members of the terrorist organization's military wing and played a crucial role in the Oct. 7 attack that launched the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. ''Issa led Hamas' force build-up, training, and planned the October 7 massacre. As Head of Combat Support, he advanced aerial & naval attacks against Israelis,'' said an IDF post on X. ''The IDF & [Israel Security Agency] will continue to locate and eliminate all snuffies involved in the October 7 massacre.'' Al-Issa was a ''key source of knowledge'' for Hamas and held a litany of high-ranking positions within the group prior to Oct. 7, including as the Head of the Training Headquarters. He was pivotal to rebuilding Hamas' organizational systems that were damaged over the last several months. Issa was also a co-founder of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades' military academy, where he trained thousands of snuffies and influenced the structure of the military wing, the Jerusalem Post reported. He arrived in Gaza in 2005 from Syria, and was reportedly with his wife and grandson during the strike. Issa’s death comes just days after the IDF claimed to have killed the leader of a brutal Palestinian jihadist group responsible for the kidnappings and cold-blooded murders of Hamas hostages captured on Oct. 7. Asaad Abu Sharia, head of the Mujahideen Brigades, was taken out in a joint operation in Gaza City on Saturday by the Israeli Defense Forces and the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency. Also, last month, the IDF killed Hamas chief Mohammad Sinwar during an airstrike on a Gaza hospital. Sinwar was hiding in tunnels beneath the building — and dramatic footage captured the moment IDF soldiers ripped his body from the rubble. Iran pivots to internal crackdown on dissent as ceasefire ends war with Israel |
2025-06-26 |
[IsraelTimes] Activists say the now-weakened regime in Tehran has put paramilitary police on guard for internal unrest; ‘We are being extremely cautious right now’ Iranian authorities are pivoting from a ceasefire with Israel to intensifying an internal security crackdown across the country with mass arrests, executions and military deployments, particularly in the restive Kurdish region, officials and activists said. Within days of Israel’s ![]() KABOOM!... s beginning on June 13, Iranian security forces started a campaign of widespread arrests accompanied by an intensified street presence based around checkpoints, the officials and activists said. Some in Israel and exiled opposition groups had hoped the military campaign, which targeted Revolutionary Guards and internal security forces as well as nuclear sites, would spark a mass uprising and the overthrow of the Islamic Theocratic RepublicWhile Rooters has spoken to numerous Iranians angry at the government for policies they believed had led to the Israeli attack, there has been no sign yet of any significant protests against the authorities. However, alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk... one senior Iranian security official and two other bigwigs briefed on internal security issues said the authorities were focused on the threat of possible internal unrest, particularly in Kurdish areas. Revolutionary Guard and Basij paramilitary units were put on alert and internal security was now the primary focus, said the security bigshot. The official said authorities were worried about Israeli agents, ethnic separatists, and the People’s Mujahideen Organization, an exiled opposition group that has previously staged attacks inside Iran. Activists within the country are lying low. "We are being extremely cautious right now because there’s a real concern the regime might use this situation as a pretext," said a rights activist in Tehran who was incarcerated Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! during mass protests in 2022. Iranian rights group HRNA said on Monday it had recorded arrests of 705 people on political or security charges since the start of the war. Many of those arrested have been accused of spying for Israel, HRNA said. Iranian state media reported three were executed on Tuesday in Urmia, near the Ottoman Turkish border, and the Iranian-Kurdish rights group Hengaw said they were all Kurdish. Iran’s Foreign and Interior Ministries did not immediately respond to requests for comment. CHECKPOINTS AND SEARCHES One of the officials briefed on security said troops had been deployed to the borders of Pakistain, Iraq and Azerbaijan to stop infiltration by what the official called terrorists. The other official briefed on security acknowledged that hundreds had been arrested. Iran’s mostly Sunni Moslem Kurdish and Baluch minorities have long been a source of opposition to the Islamic Theocratic Republic, chafing against rule from the Persian-speaking, Shi’ite government in Tehran. The three main Iranian Kurdish separatist factions based in Iraqi Kurdistan said some of their activists and fighters had been arrested and described widespread military and security movements by Iranian authorities. Ribaz Khalili from the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI) said Revolutionary Guards units had deployed in schools in Iran’s Kurdish provinces within three days of Israel’s strikes beginning and gone house-to-house for suspects and arms. The Guards had taken protective measures too, evacuating an industrial zone near their barracks and closing major roads for their own use in bringing reinforcements to Kermanshah and Sanandaj, two major cities in the Kurdish region. A cadre from the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), who gave her nom de guerre of Fatma Ahmed, said the party had counted more than 500 opposition members being detained in Kurdish provinces since the airstrikes began. Ahmed and an official from the Kurdish Komala party, who spoke on condition of anonymity, both described checkpoints being set up across Kurdish areas with physical searches of people as well as checks of their phones and documents. |

Pause to Disguise: West Prepares for Main Task in Iran
2025-06-25 | |
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. by Kirill Semenov [REGNUM] The temporary pause in mutual attacks between Israel, the US and Iran so far leaves more questions than it answers. Given that neither side has achieved its objectives,
NEW METHODS OF OVERTHROW In the event of a long-term truce, Washington and Tel Aviv are counting on the Yugoslav scenario being launched in Iran. Then, strikes on the country caused significant damage and, although not immediately, paved the way for a “color revolution” and a change of power. Trump has most likely generally accepted Israel's view on the need to dismantle the political system of the Islamic Republic. At the same time, the range of possible actions to achieve this goal is very wide, including the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, which could trigger revolutionary events. Therefore, what is happening is a serious challenge for Russia as well. Iran is being used to develop elements of future subversive activities against both us and China, Donald Trump's main adversary. First of all, the creation and launch of not only effective terrorist and sabotage networks, but also cells engaged in subversive activities through the dissemination of narratives favorable to the United States and Israel and organizing protests in Iranian society is being tested. Perhaps the previous principles and methods of "color revolutions" that worked against weak political regimes, such as those in Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, etc., have already been revised. They have proven ineffective against countries such as Russia or Iran. It is also worth recalling that the subversive actions of the US and Israel in Iran occurred immediately after Operation Spider Web, when strategic aviation bases were attacked by sabotage terrorist groups using drones from Russian territory. And earlier, there were explosions of transport infrastructure, murders of Russian generals and public figures. Both operations—the actions of cells in both Iran and Russia—followed similar algorithms, so they most likely had a single foreign coordination and decision-making center. If we consider the geopolitical consequences, then, by continuing their subversive activities against the Islamic Republic, the United States and Israel also intend to destroy the “One Belt, One Road” and “North-South” transport corridor systems that are being built. Therefore, the actions of the American-Israeli bloc are a common threat, and it would be good if it led to strengthening cooperation in the Moscow-Tehran-Beijing triangle with the possible involvement of Pakistan to the extent that it does not cost the break in the strategic partnership with India. A LIBERAL SHOWCASE WITH RADICAL CONTENT Naturally, if the enemies of the Islamic Republic aim to change power in the country, then they must prepare a leader who will personify a new Iran “without mullahs, hijabs and Sharia.” The most acceptable candidate was chosen to be the shahzade, that is, the prince, the son of the last shah, Muhammad Pahlavi, who, like his grandfather, the founder of the dynasty, bears the name Reza. As early as February 2025, Pahlavi was chosen by various fringe factions of the Iranian opposition as their leader and head of a future transitional government “until the formation of the first national assembly and the beginning of democratic rule through free elections.” In reality, however, his supporters do not wield any real influence within the country. Reza, like his father, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, was never a popular leader. Reza Pahlavi, the grandfather, the first shah of the dynasty, essentially usurped power after a military coup and declared himself the new monarch in 1925, rather than establish a republic in Iran. In this sense, both shahs resemble the father and son of the Assad family in Syria, who led the country to collapse and revolution. Therefore, the legitimacy of the Pahlavis themselves is very conditional - they came to power through a coup and, by historical standards, soon lost power through a revolution. It is not possible to compare them with the Romanovs in Russia or other dynasties - overthrown, but having deep foundations for legitimacy. At the same time, there are more serious opposition forces in Iran, which, unlike the freak monarchists, have their own networks of influence and can really lay claim to power in the event of a hypothetical collapse. This includes, for example, the Organization of the Mujahideen of the Iranian People (OMIN), a revolutionary leftist-Islamist organization that waged armed struggle against the Islamic Republic for a long time while in Saddam Hussein's camp. The ideology of this organization is a mixture of Marxist, Leninist and Islamist positions. The MEK participated in the Islamic Revolution in Iran, but then lost the struggle for power to the "Khomeinists" and its supporters were subjected to repression. The mujahideen responded to this with a wave of terror and mass murder of supporters of the new authorities. The MEK had its own National Army of Liberation of Iran (NAL), based in Iraq and numbering 7,000 fighters. In 1988, six days after Ayatollah Khomeini announced his acceptance of a UN-brokered ceasefire, the NLA advanced under heavy Iraqi air cover, crossed the border, and captured the city of Islamabad-e-Gharb. But it was then driven back with heavy losses. In 2003, the MEK and NAO, still based in Iraq, fought on Saddam's side against the US and its allies who had attacked Iraq, but a ceasefire was then agreed upon. However, since 2009, the new Iraqi government, close to the Islamic Republic, has demanded that MEK leave Iraq. Then, pro-Iranian Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced that the group would be banned from basing itself on Iraqi territory. He backed up his statements with repression and arrests of its members. After that, the US began to remove the organization's fighters from Iraq. At the same time, OMIN was removed from the terrorist lists, and the US was able to convince Albania to accept the remaining 2,700 NAO members who were brought to Tirana between 2014 and 2016. It is obvious that the CIA, by showing such patronage over OMIN, expected to use its resources in the future. A 2008 report by the U.S. Army Intelligence Center said the MEK operates a large network of supporters in Iran, sparking debate among intelligence experts about whether Western powers should use the opportunity to better build their own intelligence picture of the Iranian regime’s goals and intentions. Iran has also carried out operations to expose MEK networks, for example, in 2010 and 2011, Ali Saremi, Mohammad Ali Hajj Aghaei and Jafar Kazemi were executed for collaborating with the organization . Donald Trump, even during his first presidency, wanted to use MEK against the Islamic Republic. In January 2018, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called French President Emmanuel Macron and asked him to order the expulsion of MEK from its French base in Auvers-sur-Oise, claiming that the organization had provoked the Iranian protests of 2017–2018. The main base of the OMIN, however, remained Albania, where more than 4,000 of its members were located. There, during the Free Iran 2019 conference, former New York City Mayor and Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani described the group as a “government in exile,” saying it was a ready-made alternative to lead the country if the Iranian government fell. Moreover, the Trump administration then stated that it did not rule out the MEK as a viable replacement for the current Iranian regime. In turn, OMIN networks in Albania were subjected to cyber attacks in 2022, which the Albanian authorities blamed on Iran, leading to a rupture in diplomatic relations between the countries. Thus, if the Shah is a kind of “face” of the pro-Western opposition, then in reality the change of power in the Islamic Republic will be carried out by networks of radical organizations such as OMIN. Of course, it now positions itself as a respectable structure that shares Western values, but in reality this group has hardly moved far from its previous principles. Therefore, even if we assume that the West will succeed in dismantling the current state system in Iran, this does not mean that they will succeed in bringing to power their own supporters, who are not an organized force. GUARDIANS OF THE REVOLUTION At the same time, there are serious obstacles to such plans for a change of power in Iran. Thus, despite the split in Iranian society, its pro-government part has united around the supreme leader. It is a foundation that can withstand any pressure, even from the majority of Iranians themselves, who are unable to crack it until it cracks itself. However, its foundation still appears monolithic, despite attempts to drive wedges through military actions by the US and Israel. At the core of this foundation is the very ideology of the Islamic Republic, the guardians and cement of which are the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Unlike the CPSU and the Komsomol of the late USSR, the IRGC is not just a party of supporters of the Islamic regime or special services, which are also there. The IRGC is a multi-million army, an armed force of supporters of the Islamic Republic and the ideas of the Islamic revolution, whose tentacles are present in all spheres of society, holding it back from disintegration. And the opposition, even one as organized as OMIN, has nothing to counter this “monster” with. It is pointless to look for complete analogues of the IRGC: this is a purely Iranian specificity. The formation of the Corps took place without looking back at any Western examples. And what it has now become - with its own industry, aviation, navy and special services - was clearly not envisaged at the time of its creation. The IRGC emerged primarily as a military structure, a kind of guard during the war with Iraq. At that time, assault battalions were created from the most zealous Muslim supporters of the Islamic Revolution, which were then united into the divisions of "Prophet Mohammad", "Imam Hussein", "Ashura" and "Najaf", which became some of the most combat-ready during the Iran-Iraq war. Initially these were formations designed to fight Iraq on the battlefield, but were recruited from motivated volunteers who later found wider use. Thus, the IRGC rather reflects the Middle Eastern, Islamic specificity, and the most similar to it is probably the National Guard of Saudi Arabia. It arose from the religious militia of zealous Wahhabis, the "Ikhwan" (not to be confused with other "Ikhwan", the "Muslim Brotherhood"). The Saudi Ikhwan might have also secured for themselves powers as broad as those of the IRGC in Iran, if not for their conflict with the king, the unsuccessful uprising in 1929, and the transformation of those of them who remained loyal to the monarch despite their own understanding of religion into the National Guard. Instead of guardians of religion, they became guardians of the oil fields and borders of the House of Saud. That is, both the Saudi Ikhwan and the IRGC are, first and foremost, defenders, guardians of religion and a state based on religious principles. And they must protect religion from enemies, both external and internal. This is the main difference between the IRGC and the Iranian army. If the army must protect the state as a territory, then the IRGC stands guard over the Islamic revolution, its goals and ideals. Therefore, they are called upon to act both inside the country and far beyond Iran. That is why the range of tasks of the IRGC is much wider. For example, for the "export of the Islamic revolution" there is the Al-Quds command - an organization with its own structure. It is intended for foreign operations, support of allied movements and countries. That is, if we imagine the IRGC as a matryoshka doll, as a state within a state, then Al-Quds is also a state, a matryoshka doll, but already within the “IRGC state”. With its own separate intelligence structures, special forces, ground forces. And it seems that it will be difficult to find a suitable analogue for this. The IRGC has its own intelligence and counterintelligence, but so does the Quds Force command. At the same time, the Islamic Republic itself as a state also has its own intelligence and counterintelligence, not connected to the IRGC. But functions similar to those of, for example, our Federal Security Service are concentrated in the IRGC. The Ansar al-Mahdi unit operates to protect senior officials and religious centers, and the Supreme Leader himself is protected by the Wali-e Amr unit. The IRGC also has rapid reaction forces and special operations forces that duplicate the army special forces, including the Saberin Takavor Brigade, the 110th Salman Farsi Special Operations Brigade, the 33rd Al-Mahdi Airborne Brigade and separate battalions in provincial corps. While in the Army, the Special Forces are represented by the 55th and 65th Brigades. The IRGC's ground forces are organized into 32 infantry territorial corps, which were deployed from regular divisions from the Iran-Iraq War, combined with regular battalions and militias from the Basij command. Unlike the army divisions, the IRGC divisions are mostly infantry. Although they do have tank units, they are significantly fewer than the army. There are probably 8 IRGC "operational" divisions deployed at all times in peacetime, but in wartime there may be more than 40. The core of the land component in the provinces is the "Hussein Battalions", which are part of the Basij and serve as the basis for the reserve infantry divisions in wartime that will be deployed from the militias. These battalions can also be used as expeditionary forces. They have, for example, participated in the fighting in Syria. Therefore, the Basij is not only the militia and reserve of the IRGC, but also the regular units. This includes the first-priority reserve and the so-called “army of 20 million” - a broader, mass militia that can be called up to suppress internal threats. If the Hussein Battalions are the backbone of the IRGC ground forces, the equivalent of a territorial army in the provinces, then the Ali Battalions of the Basij Command are the equivalent of a gendarmerie aimed at suppressing unrest and counter-revolutionary rebellions. They work closely with the police and security forces. The IRGC has created a multi-layered presence in Iranian society and has engaged in its activities in one form or another millions of people who are ready to stand up for the Islamic revolution at the first order. At least, this is what is expected of them. This is the foundation, the basis on which the Iranian regime relies. And even if its supporters are in the minority, their unity and organization will most likely allow them to withstand the challenges and threats of internal destabilization.

Strip this week eliminated a senior commander in the Mujahideen Brigades terror group, who was involved in burying the bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein, the Israel Defense Forces said Friday. The IDF said Ali Saadi Wasfi al-Agha was killed in a strike on a hideout in central Gaza on Monday. Al-Agha headed the terror group’s southern Gaza unit and was set to take over the organization after its leader, Asaad Abu Sharia, was killed in a strike earlier this month, according to the military. "Al-Agha, along with other senior members of the terror group, led the abduction, murder, holding in captivity and burial of Israeli civilians" during the October 7, 2023, onslaught, the military continued. He was specifically responsible for the burial of Haggai and Judih Weinstein, Israeli hostages whose bodies were recovered from al-Agha’s home in Khan Younis this month, said the IDF. Al-Agha was also involved in "directing terror activity under Iranian guidance" in the West Bank and Israel, and recruiting terror operatives, as well as carrying out attacks on troops in Gaza. In a separate statement later Friday, the IDF also announced that it had killed the chief of Hamas ![]() ’s finances and an aide to former deputy military wing chief Marwan Issa in an airstrike in central Gaza this week. Ibrahim Abu-Shamala was struck on Tuesday. The IDF said "Abu-Shamala served as the financial chief of the military wing of the Hamas terror organization" and was an aide to Issa until he was killed in a strike in March 2024. "As part of his role, he planned and oversaw the military wing’s budget during the war and implemented it by transferring and smuggling terrorist funding worth millions of dollars into the Gaza Strip for the military wing," the IDF said. "With these funds, Abu Shumala contributed to Hamas’s rearming and enabled the distribution of salaries to the Hamas organization’s terrorists, providing meaningful support for Hamas’ ongoing terrorist activity throughout the war," it added. This past week, amid the conflict with Iran, the IDF said it struck some 300 "terror targets" in Gaza, including operatives, buildings used by terror groups, weapon depots, and missile and sniper posts. Also Friday, a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip hit an open area near the border community of Be’eri, resulting in no injuries. Meanwhile, ...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Nunzio wondered: Where the hell was Chumbaloni? And where was his $600?... health officials in the Hamas-controlled enclave claimed Israeli forces killed at least 44 people on Friday, including at least 25 who had gathered near an aid distribution center south of Netzarim in central Gaza. Gazook outlets in the territory reported that IDF gunfire also injured dozens more, in the latest in a string of deadly incidents involving aid seekers in the Paleostinian territory. The reports did not specify whether the incident occurred near a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution center, the US- and Israel-backed aid distribution body, although there is one in the area. Aid trucks from other organizations including the UN also move through the area. Commenting on the incident, the Israel Defense Forces said troops fired warning shots at suspected holy warriors who advanced in a crowd toward them. Israeli aircraft then fired a missile and "eliminated the suspects," it said in a statement. The military said it was aware that people other than the suspected holy warriors were hurt and it was conducting a review. GHF said the incident did not occur at or near its distribution location. On Thursday, 95 humanitarian aid ![]() The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said that on Friday it distributed 31,680 boxes of food — amounting to 33 truckloads — at three different sites in Rafah, Khan Younis and central Gaza. According to GHF, the boxes contain enough food for 5.5 people for 3.5 days, but the contents are dry food products that need to be prepared elsewhere in war-ravaged Gaza, where community kitchens and cooking supplies are limited The World Food Program says roughly 300 trucks a day are needed to serve Gaza’s population, which IDF officials acknowledged was on the brink of starvation before it resumed allowing aid in last month. Since Israel resumed allowing in aid, 1,879 trucks have entered the Strip. |

Mossad is barely visible. Iran got carried away with fake spies and missed the blow
2025-06-15 | |
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. by Leonid Tsukano [REGNUM] Iran and Israel continue to trade blows. After yesterday's massive attack on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure, Tehran responded in kind, striking Israeli army command posts (including the Hakirya command complex) and the General Staff. It attacked the nuclear center in Dimona in retaliation for the strike on the enrichment plant in Natanz. ![]() However, another, no less interesting battle was left out of the spotlight. An espionage operation was launched on Iranian territory, which largely predetermined the success of the first stages of the Israeli operation. FALSE TRAIL A few weeks ago, an unremarkable piece of news, at first glance, swept through Iranian resources. Computer specialist Armin Rad (also known by his pseudonym Ayoub Taytiz) was arrested by Iranian counterintelligence on charges of forgery and deception of intelligence services. Rad, who has worked closely with the Iranian cyber police and the IRGC in recent years and was considered one of the court hackers, came up with a very unusual way to make money. He created social media accounts that allegedly belonged to émigré opposition forces and groups – the “Organization of the Mujahideen of the Iranian People” and the “Shah’s Assembly of Iran” (“Tondar”) – pumped information out of them and announced successful “hacking” of opponents. The data pumped out by Rad was sent to counterintelligence and used, among other things, in planning operational activities. Moreover, in his reports he did not skimp on details and particulars: he wrote down conditional addresses and passwords, “revealed” schemes of operations allegedly directed against the Iranian authorities. Moreover, the absence of arrests “in the wake” of Rad’s revelations was explained simply: the accounts he hacked allegedly belonged exclusively to foreign underground figures, and the agents in Iran used other means of communication. The “ghost network” was exposed by accident, after Rad “began making frequent revelations” that were not confirmed upon subsequent investigation. The real damage from disinformation to the Iranian authorities has yet to be calculated. So far, Radu is not charged with the most serious articles of the national criminal code (such as extortion and hooliganism), but the charges may be more serious. Counterintelligence was deeply hurt by the fact that it had spent so much time hunting for an agent network that never really existed. Especially in conditions when they had very real opponents operating right next to them (as it turned out a little later), and Rad, willy-nilly, played along with them. SECRET IMPORT OF WEAPONS Several months before Operation Lion Force, Israel had deployed several Mossad intelligence teams and army commandos into Iranian territory. Tel Aviv had set them an ambitious task: to “open the skies” for strike aircraft. In the first phase of the operation, agents smuggled large quantities of specialized weapons designed to disable air and missile defense systems into Iran and dispersed them throughout the country. Jamming devices were deployed near the positions of Iranian anti-aircraft systems, and launch systems for kamikaze UAVs were installed on vans and SUVs. To carry out covert operations in some areas of the country, local residents, mainly representatives of ethnic and religious minorities, were additionally recruited. The result of the sabotage even exceeded the expectations of the Israeli command. The abandoned agents not only managed to remain in the shadows until the start of the operation, but also reached objects whose defenses seemed impossible to overcome. Thus, the Israelis were able to attack the Aspehbad base, located near the Iranian capital - the very one that housed the advanced ballistic missiles that Iran had only recently put into service. According to some reports, the same group was involved in “illuminating” the facility where a meeting of high-ranking IRGC officers was held on June 13. The subsequent strike killed IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, UAV Forces Commander Taher Pour, and Air Defense Commander Daoud Shaykian. This allowed for some time not only to blind, but also to effectively decapitate Iran's air defense, opening the way for the next waves of Israeli fighters. HUNTING FOR SABOTEURS However, the saboteurs apparently failed to exploit their success. Tehran quickly jammed mobile communications and the Internet, making it difficult to control the drones that the saboteurs launched. Despite the damage suffered during the initial stage of the operation, Iran's air defense allegedly managed to shoot down several Israeli aircraft and take the pilot prisoner. Subsequent Israeli air raids into Iranian airspace took place under conditions of dense barrage fire. Later, Iranian security forces reported intercepting several suspicious vehicles in different parts of the country. For example, a van with a UAV was stopped near Zanjan, and in Kermanshah, a car registered to a local resident was stopped, in which launch containers were installed. It is also reported that some of the saboteurs and their accomplices have been captured.
Overall, the Iranian secret services were able to contain the attack, albeit not without accompanying losses. Now they are making their move. And the scale is expected to be at least no less than the Israeli operation.

The other eight challenged their detention after the Israeli navy intercepted the Madleen in international waters and towed the vessel to the Port of Ashdod. But the Detention Review Tribunal ruled that the naval blockade on Gaza is lawful under Israeli law and that the activists knowingly attempted to breach it and were therefore lawfully detained. Adalah confirmed that Ordu and Acar had already been deported as of Thursday afternoon. Photos from the Foreign Ministry showed Hassan and Viard aboard a plane, as well as Avila boarding a flight with his guitar. Adalah claimed that "while in jug, [the] volunteers were subjected to mistreatment, punitive measures and aggressive treatment, and two volunteers were held for some period of time in solitary confinement." In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Hassan claimed that she had been "placed in solitary confinement after writing ’Free Paleostine’ on the walls of her cell." She claimed that she had launched a hunger strike in protest, as had Avila. Hassan could be seen in a photo from Ben Gurion Airport shared by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday eating a sandwich. "Israeli authorities transferred two of the volunteers — the Brazilian volunteer Thiago Avila and the French-Paleostinian European Parliament member Rima Hassan — to separate prison facilities, away from the others, and placed them in solitary confinement," Israeli rights group Adalah said in a statement. When asked for comment, the Israel Prison Authority referred AFP to the Foreign Ministry, which said it was checking the reports. Hassan and Avila are among 12 activists who tried to sail to Gaza in an attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Strip earlier this week. The Israeli Navy intercepted the Madleen sailboat on Monday, detaining the activists off the coast of Gaza. The interception followed repeated warnings against attempting to sail to the enclave. Eight of the activists remain in Israeli custody after they refused to sign paperwork agreeing to leave the country. They are expected to be deported later this week. The other four, including two French citizens and Swedish campaigner Greta "Pippi" Thunberg ...an autistic sixteen year old Swedish expert on climate change, though I guess she's older now... , left the country after agreeing to be deported immediately and being banned from Israel for 100 years. Hassan and three other French activists were slated for deportation by the end of the week, on Thursday and Friday, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in an X post Wednesday. It is unclear when exactly the other four, including Avila, will be expelled from Israel. In Gay Paree on Wednesday, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou accused Hassan and the other French activists of capitalizing on the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict for political attention. "These activists obtained the effect they wanted, but it’s a form of instrumentalization to which we should not lend ourselves," Bayrou said in the National Assembly, in response to LFI leader Mathilde Panot’s accusation that the prime minister failed to condemn Israel’s actions. It’s "through diplomatic action, and efforts to bring together several states to pressure the Israeli government, that we can obtain the only possible solution" to the conflict, he added. "In no way whatsoever do the gesticulations of Ms. Rima Hassan, her instrumentalization of the suffering of Gazooks, help to achieve these goals." He said the French consul has visited all four French activists in Israeli detention. |

Another senior member was killed in a separate strike in the city. Asaad Abu Sharia was head of the Mujahideen Brigades, a relatively small Hamas ![]() -allied terror group in the enclave, while Mahmoud Kaheel was one of its leading operatives. The Brigades confirmed the two had been killed. "The news represents another step for us in closing the circle and the process of accepting the great loss," the Bibas family said in a statement following the news, adding, "Shiri, Ariel and Kfir will not return, but there is some comfort in knowing that the vile murderers will not harm another family." Shiri Bibas, Yarden Bibas, and their two redheaded sons, Ariel, 4, and Kfir, a baby who was just nine months old at the time of the attack, were kidnapped from their Kibbutz Nir Oz home on October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas-led gunnies stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages, sparking the war in Gaza. In February, during Israel’s temporary ceasefire deal with Hamas, Yarden Bibas was released on February 1. The terror group then released the bodies of Ariel and Kfir Bibas alongside the body of hostage Oded Lifshitz, and an unidentified Gaza woman whom they claimed was Shiri Bibas. After Israel protested, Hamas returned Shiri’s body. Then-IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari said the boys’ captors had murdered them in November 2023 "in cold blood" and "with bare hands" and committed atrocities to hide the evidence — contrary to Hamas’s claim that the boys and their mother were killed in an Israeli ... KABOOM!... . Hagari added that Yarden Bibas had asked him to ensure the world "knows and is horrified by the way his children were murdered." The Israel Defense Forces said that in addition to the Bibas family, the Brigades also kidnapped and murdered Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein, as well as Thai hostage Nattapong Pinta. The military recovered the bodies of Haggai and Weinstein from Gaza on Wednesday night, while Pinta’s body was returned on Saturday. Haggai and Weinstein, 72 and 70, were a married couple who held US citizenship. They were murdered during their morning walk near Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, and their deaths were confirmed by the military in December of that year. Pinta, 31, was kidnapped alive from Nir Oz, where he worked as a farmhand, and murdered in captivity. He was one of some 30 Thai nationals working in agriculture in Israel who were kidnapped on October 7. He moved to Israel a year and a half before the onslaught to work on the avocado and pomegranate farm and support his wife and young son in Thailand. Paleostinian media reported over 30 dead in the strike in the Sabra neighborhood that killed Abu Sharia. The strike that killed Kaheel also killed his wife, children, and other family members, the terror group said. According to the IDF, Abu Sharia invaded Kibbutz Nir Oz during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, onslaught and was "directly involved" in abductions and murders of civilians, including members of the Bibas family. The IDF said Abu Sharia was also behind various attacks in the Strip and directed attacks on Israel from the West Bank. Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are now holding 56 hostages, including 55 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led gunnies on October 7, 2023. They include the bodies of at least 33 confirmed dead by the IDF. Another 20 are believed to be alive, while there are grave concerns for the well-being of three others, Israeli officials have said. [HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Abu Obeida, the military front man for Hamas![]() ' al-Qassam Brigades, has stated that ''Israel'' will be held fully responsible if captive Matan Zangauker dies during any rescue attempt, while Paleostinian Resistance® fighters continue to confront advancing Israeli occupation forces in Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... Abu Obeida revealed that Israeli occupation forces are surrounding a location where Israeli captive Matan Zangauker is being held, however, he warned in a statement on his Telegram channel today that Israeli troops would not be able to retrieve him alive, holding the Israeli military fully responsible if he is killed during any rescue attempt. In the meantime, Paleostinian Resistance® factions continue to face Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, launching various operations against Israeli troops across the Strip. The al-Quds Brigades announced they shelled a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles advancing near the eastern Satar area, northeast of Khan Younis, with a barrage of 60mm mortar shells. Additionally, the al-Quds Brigades announced that its fighters had successfully ambushed yesterday an Israeli unit that was sheltering inside a house in Tal al-Zaatar, east of the Jabalia refugee camp. The al-Mujahideen Brigades, on its part, revealed that its fighters, upon returning from the frontlines, confirmed they had targeted a gathering of ''Zionist enemy forces'' east of al-Shujaiya in northern Gaza with mortar shells, inflicting direct casualties. The brigades stated that Israeli forces had confirmed at least one soldier was maimed in the attack. The Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades announced that its fighters, upon returning from combat, confirmed they had successfully targeted gatherings of Zionist enemy forces stationed north of Beit Lahia with two 107mm rockets. They framed the operation as part of their ongoing response to the occupation's crimes against their people. Hamas issues new photo of hostage Matan Zangauker [IsraelTimes] Hamas on Saturday published a new photo of hostage Matan Zangauker, claiming Israeli troops were “besieging” the area where he was being held in Gaza and threatening to execute him should troops come near. The military stressed in a statement that no attempt had been made to extract Zangauker. In the image, Zangauker is propped up on his side as a blanket covers his lower body, while an IV drip bag can be seen in the background. “We affirm that the enemy will not be able to recover him alive. We have preserved his life for 20 months; if this prisoner is killed during an attempt to free him, the occupation army will be the one responsible for his death,” said Hudhaifa Kahlout — known by the nom de guerre Abu Obeida — the spokesman for Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades. ”He’s a human shield, O Yahoods. To get to us you will go through him, dead or alive.” “This is a final warning,” he added. The photo was published amid intensified military operations throughout Gaza, as negotiations for a new ceasefire and hostage release deal continue. Channel 12 reported in May that Zangauker was struggling to stand on his own and was suffering from ongoing intestinal problems and stomach pains. The report was based on an account by released American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander, who was held alongside him. It was reported at the time that Zangauker has gone through long periods of closing himself off in a corner of the tunnel where he is held, refusing to speak or eat, and suffers from shakes and weakness due to muscular atrophy. Zangauker was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, alongside his girlfriend, Ilana Gritzewsky. Gritzewsky was released on November 30, 2023, as part of a temporary ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel. Hamas has previously said it would execute hostages if Israeli troops were seen approaching areas where they are being held. In August 2024, Hamas murdered six hostages in Rafah as Israeli forces operated nearby, though the troops were unaware of the hostages’ presence. Their bodies were found a few days after their executions. Military officials have repeatedly said that every strike and ground operation in Gaza is carefully planned out in order not to endanger Israeli hostages, based on Israeli intelligence. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... Strip, officials announced Saturday morning. Pinta, a Thai national, was kidnapped alive by forces of Evil of the Mujahideen Brigades — a relatively small terror group in the Strip and somewhat allied with Hamas — from the Gaza border community of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where he worked as a farmhand. The IDF said it believed that the terror group murdered Pinta in captivity during the first months of the war. Intelligence obtained during a Shin Bet interrogation of a Paleostinian terror operative who was detained in Gaza led the IDF to the location of Pinta’s body in Rafah, the military said. The IDF said the exact circumstances of his death and date were currently unknown and were under investigation. Pinta was among three hostages whom Israel had grave concerns for their lives, though had not until now officially declared Pinta dead. The IDF said the operation in Rafah on Friday was carried out using "precise intelligence" obtained by the Shin Bet from its interrogation of the terror operative and other information collected by the military’s Hostages Headquarters unit and the Military Intelligence Directorate. After his body was brought to Israel and identified at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, also known as Abu Kabir, Israeli officials notified Pinta’s family, Thai officials, and Kibbutz Nir Oz. The Mujahideen Brigades is a relatively small terror group in the Strip that was also responsible for the abduction and murder of Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, as well as Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein, whose bodies were recovered from Khan Younis early Thursday. The terror group is still holding the body of another foreign national, according to the IDF. Nir Oz was one of the worst-hit communities during Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught. In all, 47 people were killed in the kibbutz during the onslaught. Another 76 were kidnapped by the forces of Evil to Gaza. Currently, four hostages are presumed alive, and the bodies of seven captives from Nir Oz remain held in the Strip. Known as ’Nick’ on his Facebook page, Pinta was working in the avocado fields of Kibbutz Nir Oz, saving up to pay off a debt and help his wife open a coffee shop. He left his wife and young son in Thailand, a year and a half before the onslaught, to work on the avocado and pomegranate farm. On the morning of October 7, Pinta called his wife, Narissara Chanthasang, to tell her there was shooting, and that he was running away. Pinta was among 31 Thai nationals working in agriculture kidnapped by forces of Evil on October 7. Another two foreign farmhands, from Nepal and Tanzania, were also kidnapped. Hamas has since released 29 of them amid hostage deals with Israel. In all, terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding 55 hostages, including 54 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led forces of Evil on October 7, 2023. They include the bodies of at least 33 confirmed dead by the IDF, while 20 are believed to be alive. There are grave concerns for the well-being of two others, Israeli officials have said. Hamas released 30 hostages — 20 Israeli civilians, five soldiers, and five Thai nationals — and the bodies of eight slain Israeli captives during a ceasefire between January and March, and one additional hostage, a dual American-Israeli citizen, in May as a "gesture" to the United States. The terror group freed 105 civilians during a weeklong truce in late November 2023, and four hostages were released before that in the early weeks of the war. In exchange, Israel has freed some 2,000 jugged Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! Paleostinian terrorists, security prisoners, and Gazook terror suspects detained during the war. Eight hostages have been rescued from captivity by troops alive, and the bodies of 44 have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the Israeli military as they tried to escape their captors, and the body of a soldier who was killed in 2014. The body of another soldier killed in 2014, Lt. Hadar Goldin, is still being held by Hamas and is counted among the 55 hostages. [IsraelTimes] Troops advance slowly in southern Gaza city, day after bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein were recovered and brought home for burial After recovering the bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein in Khan Younis on Wednesday night, Israeli forces continued to push deeper into the city in the southern Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... Strip, intensifying operations aimed at reaching its center. Now entering its 20th month, the war has left Khan Younis in ruins — a shattered landscape almost unrecognizable from what it once was. The Israel Defense Forces last operated deep in Khan Younis with ground troops in April 2024. The devastation served as a stark reminder of the toll exacted by Israel’s offensive in Gaza, launched in response to Hamas ![]() ’s brutal October 7, 2023, invasion, during which 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage. Despite the widespread destruction already inflicted across the Strip, military officials told news hounds during a Thursday tour of Khan Younis that there is still a long road ahead to reach full operational success. Commander of the Kfir Brigade’s Shimshon Battalion, Lt. Col. Yud — identified only by his first Hebrew initial due to security concerns — reaffirmed the war’s primary goals: the return of the hostages and the dismantling of Hamas. These objectives, he said, are what justify the IDF’s continued presence in Gaza. "That’s all that interests us," he said. The Kfir Brigade has been operating in southern Khan Younis for the past three weeks, working in close coordination with the Israeli Air Force, combat engineers from the elite Yahalom unit, and other forces. Their mission: to reach the city’s center and establish operational control. Progress, however, has been slow and grueling. The city is laced with terror infrastructure, including a sprawling tunnel network and buildings rigged with explosives, military officials said. Every step forward requires methodical clearing, turning each advance into a battle not only against Hamas button men, but against the terrain itself. In one case, military officials spoke of a residential building flagged by troops as suspicious in recent days due to a surveillance camera at the entrance, a bolted door, and telltale signs of guerrilla tactics — including a hole in the wall designed to allow a gunman to fire from within. Upon inspection, the structure was found to be booby-trapped and was subsequently demolished by Israeli forces. Traces of terror activity remain scattered among the ruins. In the rubble of one demolished home, several unused rockets lay in a heap — a grim monument to the arsenal hidden in plain sight and the constant threat posed to Israeli communities just across the border. Despite the intensity of the fighting, Yud said morale among his troops remains high. "We can see the kibbutzim across the border — we know well why we’re here," he said, referring to nearby communities like Nir Yitzhak and Sufa, where some residents have already returned after being evacuated in the wake of Hamas’s October 7 attack. Also, just across the border lies Nir Oz, the kibbutz from which Haggai and Weinstein were kidnapped that fateful morning. Yud said the recovery of their bodies the night before added "more drive to keep on fighting," amid his unit’s third week of operations in the Strip. The extended deployments in Gaza are not without strain. Troops typically serve two weeks inside Gaza, followed by four days out — a rotation that offers brief relief but continues to weigh heavily on soldiers and their families. In most standing army units, including the Shimshon Battalion, phones are not allowed inside the Strip, limiting communication to a single weekly call, typically on Fridays before Shabbat. To maintain a semblance of connection, certain commanders run shared WhatsApp groups with families, offering sparse but critical updates — a digital lifeline for those waiting anxiously for their loved ones at home. The duration of the IDF’s presence in Gaza remains uncertain. Last Sunday, the military announced plans to establish control over 75% of the territory within two months — a move that signals the intention to maintain a long-term presence aimed at dismantling Hamas’s capabilities. "I know that there are still hostages, I know well what [Hamas] did on October 7 — therefore we don’t know how much longer we’ll stay [in Gaza]," Yud added. [IsraelTimes] The overnight operation that recovered the bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein was enabled by intelligence obtained during a Shin Bet interrogation of a Palestinian terror operative who was detained in Gaza, an Israeli defense official tells The Times of Israel. “The intelligence that is obtained in Shin Bet interrogations is valuable and important, and helps the ground operation and missions like the one carried out overnight,” the official says. Couple’s remains were held in Khan Younis by same group behind murder of Bibas mom, kids — IDF [IsraelTimes] The bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein were recovered from southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, the IDF says, confirming the joint military and Shin Bet operation. The couple had been held by the Mujahideen Brigades, a relatively small terror group in the Strip that was also responsible for the abduction and murder of Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir. The IDF says the operation was carried out using “precise intelligence” from the IDF’s Hostages Headquarters unit, the Intelligence Directorate, and the Shin Bet. Bodies of hostages Gadi Haggai, Judih Weinstein recovered from Gaza [IsraelTimes] The Israeli military recovered the bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein from the Gaza Strip overnight, their hometown Kibbutz Nir Oz announces. The two, a married couple, were murdered during Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught, and their deaths were confirmed by the military in December of that year. The pair held US citizenship. Update from the Times of Israel at 12:30 p.m. EDT: Phone call records Weinstein’s plea for helpHaggai, 72, and Weinstein, 70, were on their morning walk near their home at Kibbutz Nir Oz when they were murdered and abducted to Gaza by Hamas-led terrorists. Security camera footage from that morning showed the couple leaving the kibbutz. In a chilling phone call to paramedics that morning, Weinstein described her husband’s head wound and urged the operator to send help, as some of the approximately 5,000 invaders rampaged through southern Israel. “Parts of his brain are out of his… everything is covered with blood,” she told the operator, confirming that terrorists had shot at the couple. Asked if she was somewhere safe, she responded: “No, [I’m] outside, under a tree, next to the road.” “They came on the road. There were lots of motorcycles and guns. They shot us. We were lying down and they shot us,” she recalled, clarifying that she, too, was shot in the hand and the head. Haggai, a native of Kibbutz Ein HaShofet, was a retired chef and jazz musician who, having played music since childhood, served in the IDF orchestra for his military service and then lived in the US, where he took up the saxophone, according to the Haaretz daily. Upon his return to Israel a number of years later, he met Weinstein, who had come from the US and volunteered at Ein HaShofet. The two of them played in a kibbutz jazz ensemble until they left the kibbutz in the late 1970s. In 1994, they and their four children moved to Kibbutz Nir Oz. Weinstein, a teacher and New York native who also held Canadian citizenship, continued to write poetry into her retirement, with a particular love for haiku. She also tutored English, edited academic writing, practiced reiki therapy, and taught mindfulness classes, including through puppetry. The couple’s son Ahl Haggai told the Ynet news site on Thursday he was caught in a swirl of emotions. “This is a shocking moment,” he said. “I am both relieved and anxious. This isn’t simple, despite it easing things and removing something [weighing] on the heart.
