''King Kong'': World's largest water buffalo is six feet tall |
2025-02-14 |
"It's almost as big as Stacey Abrams!" Named King Kong, the majestic buffalo, is a resident of the Ninlanee Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima and is almost 20 inches taller than the average adult water buffalo, the Guinness World Records stated. Owner Suchart Booncharoen said it was expected of King Kong to grow to this massive size as he was huge at the time of his birth and that is why he was named after the iconic gorilla from the film, according to UPI. An employee of the farm, Cherpatt Wutti, said despite King Kong being of an intimidating size, the buffalo is quite friendly and playful. "He is very obedient. He loves to play around, he loves to be scratched, and running around with people," she said. "He is really friendly and it's like having a big, powerful puppy on the farm," she added. |

Ain't that cute? Susie's got a proletarian hat. Sarandon was photographed Wednesday appearing in good spirits with a pleasant smirk on her face as she walked in New York City.
Looks more like a high school class jacket to me. It'd look out of place on a B-17. So would Susie.

Indiana teen Emily Barger found safe 200 miles from home, 18-year-old man arrested
2023-03-10 | |
Emily Barger, 14, was located late Wednesday in Attica, Indiana — over three hours north of her Georgetown home, officials said. The girl was found after police received a tip that she "was staying in a shed behind a residence in Attica," the police department said in a blurb. Shawn Barger, who identifies on social media as Emily’s father,
Police nabbed that person, identified as 18-year-old Terry Ross, while he was walking in Attica. He has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation in Attica was ongoing and that the police department would continue to work with local partners regarding potential charges. Floyd County Chief Deputy Jeff Firkins previously told The Post that Barger reported his daughter missing, and officials said she was last seen around 1 a.m. Monday at her family’s home. Barger wrote on Facebook earlier this week that he discovered Monday morning his daughter’s bed was empty, her window was cracked and her cellphone had been left behind.

CIA chief visits Libya after Lockerbie suspect handover |
2023-01-13 |
The meeting in Tripoli on Thursday, also reported by Libyan media, was part of the first visit by a CIA director to the North African country since the 2012 attack against a US mission in Benghazi that killed the US ambassador and three others. The visit and the meeting with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah were announced by his Government of National Unity on its Facebook page, where a picture of Burns and Dbeibah together was posted. "Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibeh hosted the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns" at the cabinet office in Tripoli, along with Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush and Libyan intelligence chief Hussein al-Ayeb, Dbeibah’s government said in the post. Burns "underlined the need to develop economic and security cooperation between the two countries", it said. Libyan media reported that Burns also met Khalifa Haftar, the eastern Libya-based military strongman who has attempted to march on Tripoli and overthrow the Government of National Unity in the past. The meeting took place at Haftar’s headquarters in Benghazi. The CIA, which does not regularly announce such visits, declined to comment. Libya has been in a tumultuous state since a NATO-backed uprising in 2011 that saw the demise of ruler Muammar Gaddafi and plunged Libya into division and violence. The country has been de facto divided since 2014 between warring factions based in the west and east of the country. |

Milwaukee wants to host the MLB All-Star Game now that it's been moved from Atlanta |
2021-04-05 |
Manfred and MLB made the decision to remove the game from Atlanta’s Truist Park in response to Georgia enacting a new law last month restricting voting rights. The game was slated to honor legendary Brave and Basball Hall of Famer Henry Aaron, who died on Jan. 22 at the age of 86. Because of that scheduled tribute to Aaron, Barrett wrote to Manfred that it made perfect sense to move the game to Milwaukee, where the former home run king began his career with the Braves and ended it with the Brewers. "As you review alternative sites for the game, I ask you to consider Milwaukee," Barrett wrote in his letter. "It is a particularly appropriate location to honor Hank Aaron, who is a revered and beloved former Milwaukeean. He started and concluded his Major League career with teams here. "The City of Milwaukee would be honored to host the All-Star Game, and you would have the full support of my office to make the festivities a success." |

2019-11-21 |
[DAWN] Jamshoro police has lodged a sedition case against some students of Sindh University, Jamshoro for allegedly chanting anti-Pakistain slogans and for being involved in wall chalking against the state, it emerged on Tuesday. The case, registered against at least 17 students of the university, was lodged under Section 120-A (definition of criminal conspiracy), 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 123-A (condemnation of the creation of the state, and advocacy of abolition of its illusory sovereignty), 124 (assaulting president, governor, etc. with intention to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power) and 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) of the Pakistain Penal Code on the complaint of Inspector Ghulam Qadir Panhwar, the security head of the campus. The complainant said that on October 31 the hostel in-charge Qamar Lashari, Niaz Buledi, and provost Shahab Ahmed Soomro had informed him that around 17 to 18 students of the Jeay Sindh group had raised slogans against Pakistain as well as against the government of the country and had been involved in wall chalking outside the boys' hostel's main gate. Inspector Panhwar said he was informed that the students were creating lawlessness in the institution. He claimed that after receiving the information, he reached the site of the incident and found that the students were carrying flags of Jeay Sindh, were raising slogans against Pakistain, and were engaging in wall chalking against the state. According to Panhwar, after seeing the police, the students moved towards the hostel while continuing to chant slogans such as "Sindhu Desh, Na Khapey Na Khapey Pakistain, we will break Pakistain". The complainant said he himself and the hostel in-charge clearly identified the students involved. |

Bootleggers and Catholics: The Politics of the Open-Borders Lobby |
2019-09-20 |
In her new book, Open Borders Inc., Michelle Malkin documents chapter and verse of what has to be one of the biggest Bootleggers-and-Baptist operations ever ‐ the coalition of large corporations like Koch Industries and Apple Computer, along with arms of the Catholic Church, that seeks to abolish national sovereignty in the United States with open borders. The corporate interest is mainly in cheap labor, says Malkin, whereas the rhetoric of the Catholic Church is about compassion for "refugees." There is a twist here in Professor Yandle’s theory, however, a twist that probably also exists in many of his other examples. The twist is that although the rhetoric of the Catholic Church is about compassion for the poor, it is not just coincidental that it rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars a year in government grants to administer its "refugee resettlement" and other illegal immigrant programs. The Church also views mass immigration from largely Catholic Latin America a solution to the catastrophic drop off in Sunday offerings (it lost some three million American Catholics between 2007 and 2015) in light of how it has handled its pedophile scandal. "Follow the money" is the main theme of Open Borders, Inc. |
