Egypt bitter as Sudan's RSF Hemedti seeks to host Gaza refugees
2025-05-29 | |
[NEWARAB] Egypt is ringing alarm bells over a potential plan for the transfer of a sizeable number of Paleostinians from the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... Strip to areas controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan ![]()
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!... to take over the coastal Paleostinian enclave, kick its people out and build it into a "Middle East Riviera". They also come in the wake of media reports about United Arab Emirates-sponsored attempts by RSF commander Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as Hemedti, to curry favour with Trump's administration by proposing to take in some of the people of Gaza in areas controlled by his militia in Sudan. Such a plan angers Cairo, which has been lobbying hard to foil the US president's plan. "Egypt staunchly opposes the displacement of the people of Gaza because it is keen on protecting the rights of the Paleostinians to their land," Egyptian political researcher Mohammed Rabie al-Dehi remarked to The New Arab. "Hemedti's proposal to take in Gaza refugees makes it necessary for all Arab states to act to rescue Paleostinian statehood dreams," he added. Little influence over RSF There has been no confirmation of the aforementioned reports from either the US or the UAE. The RSF commander Hemedti has not spoken openly about such a plan either. Nonetheless, Abu Dhabi maintains close relations with the paramilitary Sudanese group which has been locked in a war with the Sudanese army since mid-April 2023, one that has so far destroyed most of Sudan, caused the displacement of millions of Sudanese citizens, both inside and outside Sudan, and opened the door for the emergence of one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. Close relations between the UAE and the RSF have turned the Sudanese army and Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council, the ruling body in Sudan, against Abu Dhabi, with the council accusing the Gulf state of offering arms and financial support to its rival militia. The Sudanese government has also filed a lawsuit against the UAE at the International Court of Justice, accusing it of complicity with the RSF in perpetrating genocide in Sudan. Egypt's problem with a scenario where the RSF proposes to take in Gaza refugees in areas it controls in Sudan derives from the little influence it has over the Sudanese militia. The RSF shares control over Sudanese cities with the Sudanese army. In recent weeks, the paramilitary group intensified its military campaign against the army, having apparently received a fresh supply of arms from its regional benefactors, especially unmanned aerial vehicles. Now, the RSF controls large swaths of eastern Sudan, along with areas in the western part of the African country where allied militias prevail. The intensification of the RSF campaign also came hard on the heels of significant victories by the Sudanese army, especially in Sudanese capital, Khartoum. Cairo has been a strong backer of the Sudanese army, a policy enshrined in Egypt's foreign policy doctrine which bans relations with non-state actors or militias. This backing has caused relations between Cairo and the RSF to teeter on the edge of hostility, with the militia repeatedly accusing the Egyptian air force of striking its positions and killing its fighters. "The RSF is a fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... militia that has suffered one defeat after another in the past period," Sudanese political analyst Amgad Farid told TNA. "It works tooth and nail to prove its relevance by criticising and antagonising Egypt, a regional heavyweight whether it likes it or not," he added.

Israel says fighter jets striking ''terror targets'' in Yemen
2025-05-29 | |
[NEWARAB] Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday that fighter jets had carried out strikes on Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the JewsThey like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... "terror targets" at the airport in the Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... i capital of Sanaa, a day after the group fired two projectiles at Israel. "Air Force jets have just struck terror targets of the Houthi terrorist organization at the airport in Sanaa and destroyed the last aircraft remaining," Katz said in a statement. "This is a clear message and a continuation of our policy: whoever fires at the State of Israel will pay a heavy price," he added. Houthi media shortly after reported that Israel had struck the airport. The strikes comes a day after the Israeli military said that it had intercepted a missile and another projectile fired from Yemen by the Iran-backed group. The Houthis, who control large swathes of Yemen, later confirmed that they had launched two "ballistic missiles" towards Israel. The Houthis have repeatedly fired missiles and drones targeting Israel since the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Over 54,000 Paleostinians have been killed in Israel's onslaught on the enclave,
The Yemeni rebels, who say they are acting in solidarity with Paleostinians, paused their attacks during a two-month Gaza ceasefire that ended in March, but resumed them after Israel restarted its military campaign in the territory. While most of the projectiles have been intercepted, one missile fired by the group in early May hit the perimeter of Ben Gurion international airport near Tel Aviv for the first time, sparking wide cancellations of international flights to Israel. Israel has carried out several strikes in Yemen in recent months in retaliation for the attacks, including on ports and the airport in Sanaa. The Israeli military said the strikes on Wednesday had destroyed aircraft belonging to the group. "The aircraft struck were used by the Houthi terrorist organization for the transfer of murderous Moslems who advanced terrorist attacks against the state of Israel," the army said in a statement. "Similarly to the Hodeida and Salif ports that were struck last week, the main airport of Sanaa is continuously operated by the Houthi regime and is used by them for terror purposes," the army said. Israeli fighter jets bombed the Houthi-controlled Sanaa International Airport in Yemen on Wednesday, in response to the Iran-backed group’s near-daily ballistic missile attacks on Israel. Since the Israel Defense Force’s last strike on Yemen, on May 16, the Houthis launched at least seven missiles and several drones at Israel, the latest of them on Tuesday morning. Israeli Air Force fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes participated in Wednesday’s operation. In a statement, the IDF said the strikes hit the airport and an aircraft used by the Houthis “to transport terrorists who advanced terror attacks on Israel.” Defense Minister Israel Katz said the aircraft was the last remaining plane in use by the Houthis. The other planes were destroyed in an Israeli strike on the airport on May 6, also in response to frequent Houthi attacks. The strike earlier this month destroyed the airport’s terminal and six planes, and left craters on its runway, according to Yemeni authorities. The airfield reopened for a flight 11 days later. ”Air traffic control? Who needs air traffic control when we have Allah in his heaven?” Also this month, the IAF struck the Houthi-controlled Hodeida and Salif ports in Yemen in response to the Iran-backed group’s repeated attacks on Israel.“Similar to the ports of Hodeida and Salif that were struck last week, the main airport in Sanaa is routinely operated by the Houthi regime and serves its terror purposes. This is another example of the cruel use made by the Houthi terror organization of civilian infrastructure for terror activities,” the IDF said Wednesday. Katz said the strike was “a clear message and a direct continuation of the policy we established: Anyone who fires at the State of Israel will pay a heavy price.” “The ports in Yemen will continue to be struck heavily, and the airport in Sanaa will be destroyed again and again, as will other strategic infrastructures in the area used by the Houthi terror organization and its supporters,” Katz continued. “The Houthi terror organization will be under naval and aerial blockade, as we pledged and warned. Anyone who harms us will be harmed sevenfold,” he said. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement, similarly said, “We operate by a simple principle: Anyone who harms us — we will harm them.” “The Houthis are just a symptom. The main power behind them is Iran, which is responsible for the aggression emanating from Yemen,” he said. IRGC personnel decamped for safer environs weeks ago, leqving the Houthis completely defenseless against IDF body punches. Since March 18, when the IDF resumed its offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis in Yemen have launched 41 ballistic missiles and at least 10 drones at Israel. Several of the missiles have fallen short.…fallen in the sea, fallen on Saudi Arabia — wherever they went down, it was beyond the ken of Man.

The Blatant Lie of Germany's Elite |
2025-05-29 |
[CityJournal] Parties opposed to the Alternative for Deutschland (AfD) continue to block it from exercising its rights—all in the name of stopping “fascism.” Germany’s self-proclaimed democracy defenders are at it again: blocking a law-abiding party from exercising its rights—all in the name of protecting democracy. The Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), a pro-free market, anti-EU, anti-mass migration party, placed second in Germany’s recent parliamentary elections, earning nearly 21 percent of the vote to the top vote-getter’s, the Christian Democratic Union’s, 28 percent. The AfD placed well ahead of the once-dominant Social Democratic Party (16 percent) and the Greens (11 percent). By longstanding tradition, the AfD should have been allotted committee chairmanships and vice chairmanships based on its February vote share. Doing so would have meant that the powerful budget, interior, and finance committees, along with three other committees, would have been under AfD direction, giving it the possibility of shaping legislation. But in a reversal of what is normally an automatic affirmation, on Wednesday, May 21, the other parties in Parliament voted down the AfD chairmanships and put those six committees in the control of other, often less popular, parties. The far-left Die Linke (the Left) party, which had garnered just 9 percent of the parliamentary vote, was awarded two chairs. The rationale given for this anti-democratic coup is a recent designation of the AfD as a right-wing extremist party. On May 2, 2025, four days before parliamentary power was to change hands, outgoing Interior Minister Nancy Faeser from the Social Democratic Party announced that Germany’s domestic spy agency (the BfV) had slapped that label on the AfD, based on a 1,000-page secret dossier. According to press leaks, the dossier appeared to consist of public statements by AfD leaders, many already chewed over endlessly by the party’s opponents, relating to Germany’s mass migration problem. AfD representatives have asserted, for example, that Germans have a cultural history tied to their ethnic and national identity; that this history and identity deserve protection; and that unchecked illegal migration threatens national cohesion. The dossier also contained statements "implying," as a scandalized Reuters put it, that "immigrants from Muslim countries were more likely to be criminals." Actually, those AfD statements didn’t "imply" that immigrants from Muslim countries were more likely to be criminals; they asserted that fact outright, because that is what government crime statistics overwhelmingly show. After Faeser’s announcement, the AfD accused the outgoing government of orchestrating the release to inflict maximum damage on the party in the next Parliament. The AfD’s charge then seemed speculative. Now, it looks prescient. Before the "right-wing extremist" designation had come out, a high-ranking member of the Christian Democratic Union had suggested that the AfD should be treated "in parliamentary procedures and processes like any other opposition party." Now, however, CDU chancellor Friedrich Merz says that it would be "unthinkable" to allow the AfD any of its parliamentary rights in light of the secret dossier, because, you know, democracy. Never mind that the "extremist" designation has been suspended pending resolution of a lawsuit filed by the AfD for violation of its free speech rights. In a desperate attempt at justifying the CDU’s exploitation of the now-suspended "extremist" proclamation, the party’s parliamentary whip, Steffan Bilger, told public broadcaster ZDF on May 21 that he and his fellow elected officials had observed the AfD’s radical and extremist nature in Parliament of late. What this accusation referred to was left unexplained. In truth, nothing has changed in the AfD’s political positions or the lawful comportment of members. In any case, the "right extremist" designation was a mere pretext for shutting the AfD out of power. Half a year before Nancy Faeser revealed the existence of the secret dossier, the establishment parties had pulled the same trick in the state government of Thuringen. They denied the AfD its earned state committee chairmanships through novel parliamentary maneuvers, even though the AfD had been the biggest vote-getter in the state election. In mid-April, the AfD was also as usual denied a vice president position in the Bundestag. Vice presidents, ordinarily one from each party, oversee parliamentary rules and issue calls to order. The AfD’s lack of representation allows the establishment parties to rebuke it on specious grounds without check. It is amusing to see who fervently supports democracy against the alleged incursions of the AfD. A representative of Die Linke, Clara Buenger, told ZDF that the AfD must never be "normalized," because it seeks to "infiltrate and eliminate democracy." Die Linke, by its own admission, seeks to "overcome capitalism." On May 24, 2025, hundreds of masked anti-fascists showed up in Bielefeld to counter a memorial for the victims of another stabbing by a failed asylum seeker. The counterdemonstrators waved red hammer and sickle flags. Contrary to "eliminating democracy," the AfD has acceded to every power grab that strips it of its rights, while trying to overturn those decisions through lawful means. To add insult to injury, the Social Democratic Pary (SPD) has refused to give up the spacious caucus room that it occupied when it ran the last government, despite much diminished numbers. Having lost 86 seats in the last election, the SPD now holds a mere 120 out of 630 parliamentary seats, while the AfD, having gained 69 seats in the last election, counts 152 MPs. Even a reporter from a mainstream media outlet acknowledges that the AfD’s assigned caucus room is too small. The reason for stiffing the AfD on real estate is the usual threat of fascism. The SPD has nicknamed its large hall Otto Weis Hall, in honor of an SPD politician who opposed the rise of National Socialism. Though Otto Weis Hall is not an official name, having the AfD take over the space would allegedly dishonor the opponents of fascism. Alice Weidel, the co-leader of the AfD, was uncharacteristically at a loss for words in reacting to the committee chair boycott and the meeting room tantrum, before alighting upon the mots justes—"bottomless impudence"—to describe the mainstream parties. Meantime, a day after two members of the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. were assassinated by a pro-Hamas sympathizer, Weidel called for the end of a planned evacuation of Gaza residents to Germany: While police officers are being seriously injured at anti-Israel demonstrations in German cities and imported anti-Semitism is spreading . . . anyone who continues to conduct mass reception operations in the face of thousands of anti-Semitic crimes and a growing propensity for violence in radicalized circles . . . has learned nothing from 2015. . . . The protection of Jewish life, our police, and public order must finally be a priority again. Humanitarian aid must be provided locally—not through further border expansion and immigration into an already overwhelmed system. The AfD has been Israel’s strongest supporter in the Bundestag; it alone has tried to defund UNRWA and other Palestinian fronts for promoting anti-Israel ideology. Yet the party is reflexively labeled a threat to Jews, while the spawn of the establishment’s immigration policies scream their support for the Intifada’s martyrs in Berlin, Hamburg, and Stuttgart. Ten million of Germany’s voters have again been disenfranchised in the elite’s desperate attempt to preserve the status quo. That elite’s claim to represent democracy against fascism is now long past being a silly pose. It is a blatant lie. Germany is at the forefront of the battle between power and censorship on the one hand and regime change and free speech on the other, all centered around the twenty-first century’s central issue: mass Third World migration. What happens next in Germany will be an augury for the future of democratic systems. |

Two Palestinians sentenced to life plus 50 years over deadly West Bank terror attack in 2023 |
2025-05-28 |
[IsraelTimes] Two Palestinian terrorists have been sentenced to life plus 50 years in prison for carrying out a deadly shooting attack near the West Bank city of Hebron in August 2023. Saqer and Mohammed a-Shanter, who are relatives, opened fire on a vehicle near the Beit Hagai Junction on August 21, 2023, killing Batsheva Nigri, 42, and seriously wounding a man. The pair fled and were arrested a day later. According to the indictment, Saqer and Mohammed were in contact with Hamas operatives in order to fund the payment for the weapon that would be used in the attack. On August 21, the two arrived at Beit Hagai Junction with an assault rifle and three magazines, and upon spotting an Israeli car, they opened fire, shooting a total of 28 bullets. A military court sentenced them today to life plus 50 years in prison, and also ordered them to pay the victims 3.4 million shekels. Preceding the sirens by about four minutes, an early warning was issued to residents, alerting them of the long-range missile attack via a push notification on their phones. The second missile was intercepted at around 7:30 a.m., the Israel Defense Forces said. No sirens were activated “according to protocol,” the IDF said, as no towns were under any threat. There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attacks. The missiles were the fourth and fifth Houthi attacks on Israel in five days. |

The accusation has been used as the justification for shifting food distribution to the newly formed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — a move Lang says is politically motivated rather than rooted in need. ''This doesn't seem designed to actually meet the needs of the population,'' Lang said, pointing to the plan's emphasis on relocating aid efforts to southern Gaza, an area labelled by Israel as a "humanitarian zone." According to Lang, this approach risks sidelining the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding across the strip. ''If Hamas is indeed stealing aid, then we need to see the evidence,'' he said. Lang argues that rather than restricting aid access, flooding Gaza with relief would be more effective. ''More aid means lower black-market prices and removes the incentive for control,'' he added.

[Jpost] It began with a sentence that sounded less like the opening of a diplomatic talk and more like the opening pitch at an accelerator demo-day. Economy Minister Nir Barkat — whose résumé lists two tech exits before it lists "mayor of Jerusalem" — stepped onto the Jerusalem Post Conference stage in New York and said he was tired of hearing that the West Bank was unsolvable. If a product fails, he told the room, you either ship a better one or the market walks. His "product" was the Paleostinian Authority; his better version was a Paleostinian chapter of the Abraham Accords. "One day — hopefully soon — Arabs in Judea and Samaria will decide they’ve had enough of the PA and ask to join the accords," he said. "If they work with Israel, we’ll help them build Dubai. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... ’s Rafah, only hours after the military announced the new aid mechanism, backed by Israel and the United States, began operating for the first time. Footage posted to social media showed crowds surging into the area and taking boxes of food. The IDF, which secures the area around the facility, confirmed that troops fired warning shots outside the compound, but denied reports claiming it opened fire from a helicopter or towards the center itself. A military source said an Israeli Air Force helicopter was operating over the sea at the time of the incident, but not anywhere close to the distribution site.
According to Paleostinian reports, the American security personnel charged with securing the area expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. There were no reports of casualties in the incident. The newly created Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sought to downplay the incident, saying that its American security subcontractors fell back in order to allow "a small number" of people to take food. "The needs on the ground are great. At one moment in the late afternoon, the volume of people at the SDS was such that the GHF team fell back to allow a small number of Gazooks to take aid safely and dissipate," GHF said in a statement. Before the break-in, GHF said that "approximately 8,000 food boxes have been distributed so far. Each box feeds 5.5 people for 3.5 days, totaling 462,000 meals." GHF claimed its operations have returned to normal. The military announced earlier that two out of four of the recently established sites began operating for the first time, initially delivering food packages to thousands of Paleostinian families. However, some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... an Israeli security official also tried to downplay the incident, telling the Ynet site that none of the aid had been looted. The newly opened aid centers are operated by the GHF, an American organization that is backed by Israel, designed to bypass the UN and traditional aid agencies in a bid to keep the supplies away from Hamas ![]() The UN and other international organizations withheld much-needed backing of the GHF, arguing that its aid initiative violates humanitarian principles by requiring Gazooks to walk long distances in order to receive aid and limiting distribution to southern Gaza, a move that would forcibly displace the Paleostinian population. Footage purportedly shows thousands of Paleostinians overrunning one of the aid distribution sites in southern Gaza's Rafah a short while ago. Three of the distribution sites are located in the Tel Sultan area of southern Gaza’s Rafah, while the fourth is in the Netzarim Corridor area, south of Gaza City. The two sites that began operations on Tuesday are in Rafah. "The establishment of the distribution centers took place over the last few months, facilitated by the Israeli political echelon and in coordination with the US government," the IDF said in its first official comment on the aid sites. "This process coincided with an ongoing dialogue and cooperation with the IDF, through the Southern Command and COGAT, as well as international aid organizations, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, and the American civilian security company," it said. The IDF said it will "continue to facilitate humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip, while making every possible effort to ensure that the aid does not reach the hands of the Hamas terrorist organization." Images showed aid boxes included bags of rice and dried beans, as well as flour, oil, salt, and canned vegetables, many of them in Israeli packaging.
"As much as I want to go because I am hungry and my children are hungry, I am afraid," said Abu Ahmed, 55, a father of seven. "I am so scared because they said the company belongs to Israel and is a mercenary, and also because the resistance [Hamas] said not to go," he said in a message on the chat app WhatsApp. Hamas, which has in recent months faced protests by many Paleostinians who want the devastating war to end, has warned residents against accessing GHF sites, saying Israel was using the company to collect intelligence information. "Do not go to Rafah... Do not fall into the trap... Do not risk your lives. Your homes are your fortress. Staying in your neighborhoods is survival, and awareness is your protection," a statement published by the Hamas-linked Home Front said. "These schemes will be broken by the steadfastness of a people who do not know defeat," it added. "Before the war, my fridge used to be full of meat, chicken, dairy, soft drinks, everything, and now I am begging for a loaf of bread," Abu Ahmed told Rooters via a chat app. ![]() Additionally, Juliette Touma, communications director of the UN Paleostinian refugee agency, said the UN does not know what is being distributed. "We don’t have any information," she said. "We know what’s needed, we know what’s missing, and we are very, very far from that daily target." Senior US official hails GHF, blasts UN for refusing to get behind aid distribution effort [IsraelTimes] The Trump administration hails the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, while blasting the UN for refusing to cooperate with the group’s new aid distribution initiative, hours after thousands of Palestinians overran one of its sites in Rafah. “Aid is getting to the people in need, and through their secure distribution system, Israel is kept safe and Hamas empty handed,” says a statement to reporters attributed to a senior administration official. The official appears to cite GHF’s figures, stating that roughly 8,000 boxes of food have been distributed in the foundation’s first two days of operation, with each box feeding 5.5 people for 3.5 days, totaling 462,000 meals. The Trump official says GHF is managing to operate in Gaza, despite attempts by Hamas to place blockades on aid trucks. “GHF is a threat to Hamas’s longstanding system of looting the assistance intended for the people of Gaza.” “The UN and other aid agencies were wrong to criticize,” the senior Trump administration official says, making no mention of Tuesday’s mass-looting incident in one of the two distribution sites GHF has begun to operate. “These organizations echoed Hamas talking points rather than praising those who are delivering results.” While GHF was only registered this year, the Trump official says the project was born during the Biden administration but was dropped due to “bureaucratic incompetence.” The Trump administration was impressed by the idea, though, and got behind it. “We support bold, out-of-the-box efforts to make life better for Gazans. GHF is doing exactly that. And we’re proud to back their incredible mission,” the official says. US will renew push for countries to fund GHF once it demonstrates results — official [IsraelTimes] The Trump administration plans to renew its push for countries and international organizations to fund the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation once its new aid distribution initiative proves to be a success, a US official tells The Times of Israel. The US official acknowledges that European countries and other nations approached earlier this month about backing GHF did not respond “favorably.” “Countries are used to doing what they have always done,” the US official says. However, the US official is unfazed by the initial negative response from countries, who have refrained from bankrolling GHF to date. “The United States is a leader in innovation and once GHF works, others will want to share in its success,” the official adds. Asked about the overrun of one of GHF’s Rafah distribution sites by thousands of Palestinians on Tuesday, the US official downplays the incident, insisting that it lasted 20 minutes and that over 400,000 meals were fed as a result of the foundation’s work.
Israel says 95 trucks of humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Tuesday [IsraelTimes] The Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announces that 95 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip today. Israel resumed aid deliveries to Gaza last week, after a pause since March 2. Since then, 755 trucks of aid have entered the Strip. Today’s trucks include food, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical drugs, COGAT says. The aid underwent an inspection first by Israeli authorities before entering Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing. Earlier, COGAT said some 400 truckloads of aid were awaiting collection on the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom.

Trump throws America's $44billion education business into chaos by halting ALL student visas
2025-05-27 | ||||
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The Trump Administration has ordered US embassies to halt all student visa applications as the president cracks down on America's higher education business. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has directed officials to stop scheduling appointments with student visa applicants as they prepare to implement a social media vetting process, according to a cable obtained by Politico. 'Effective immediately, in preparation for an expansion of required social media screening and vetting, consular sections should not add any additional student or exchange visitor (F, M, and J) visa appointment capacity until further guidance is issued septel, which we anticipate in the coming days,' the cable states. The Institute of International Education Open Doors data report found that in 2023-2024 academic year, the United States hosted a record-breaking 1.1 million international students - including an estimated 10,000 British students. These students generated $43.8 billion through tuition, housing and living expenses, according to NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Donald Trump has waged war on elite universities, accusing them of antisemitism and blasting their 'woke' ideology. At the beginning of his second term, Trump ordered the deportation of foreign students who took part in pro-Hamas protests on college campuses in the US. Harvard has borne the brunt of Trump's fire but it is also fighting back just as hard and sued the administration. The Department of Homeland Security announced on Thursday its revocation of Harvard's ability to host and enroll students from other countries. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem published a letter she sent to the Ivy League university last week instructing the thousands of current students to either transfer to other schools or leave the country. Trump has demanded to know all of the names and countries of origin of all nearly 7,000 foreign-born students attending Harvard University. The president said it was unacceptable that 31 percent of the students who attend the famous Ivy League school are 'from foreign lands.' Harvard filed on Friday a lawsuit against the Trump administration for revoking its right to host foreign students. The school said in a court filing Trump's action will have an 'immediate and devastating effect for Harvard and more than 7,000 visa holders.' 'With the stroke of a pen, the government has sought to erase a quarter of Harvard's student body, international students who contribute significantly to the University and its mission,' Harvard wrote. 'Without its international students, Harvard is not Harvard.'
The announcement will be made via a letter from the General Services Administration to federal agencies, which was obtained by The New York Times. The letter, being sent out later Tuesday, also tells the agencies: 'Going forward, we also encourage your agency to seek alternative vendors for future services where you had previously considered Harvard.'
Trump threatened on Monday to take $3 billion in funding away from the Ivy League university to distribute to trade schools instead. He also used Truth Social to complain that Harvard hadn't released to the federal government a list of foreign students enrolled in the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based school. 'I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,' Trump wrote Monday morning. 'What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!' The president and his Republican allies have claimed that Harvard is antisemitic for allowing pro-Palestinian protests to take place on campus amid the current Gaza war.
'Harvard is very slow in the presentation of these documents, and probably for good reason!' he continued. 'The best thing Harvard has going for it is that they have shopped around and found the absolute best Judge (for them!) - But have no fear, the Government will, in the end, WIN!' Last week Judge Allison Burroughs, a 2014 Obama appointee, temporarily paused the Trump administration's move to cancel Harvard's student visa program.
Trump's Department of Homeland Security moved to cancel the program after the university failed to provide the government with extensive behavioral records of visa holders in the student body. Notably, the president has several close associates who were international students educated in the US, including senior advisor Boris Epshteyn, who helped Trump put together his legal team for criminal cases. Epshteyn was born in Russia and emigrated to the United States, and met Eric Trump as a student at Georgetown University.
