Jews Must Never Forget Trump For Remembering Our Unforgettable Jerusalem |
2018-02-23 |
[Mercer at Townhall] The United Nations, naturally, disapproved. Pope Francis, more enigmatically, protested, too, when President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel. By 2019’s end, the Trump administration plans to open the American Embassy in Jerusalem. There's a reason Muslims living in Israel proper‐1.5 million of them‐don't migrate to the adjacent Palestinian Authority. They're better off in Israel. Should Jerusalem, East and West, be recognized formally as the capital of Israel only, under Jewish control alone; Christianity's holiest sites will be better off. Judaism's holy sites will be safer. And so will Islam's. Jerusalem is no settlement to be haggled over; it's the capital of the Jewish State. King David conquered it 1000 years Before Christ. The city's "Muslim Period" began only in the year 638 of the Common Era. "Yerushalaim," and not Al Quds, is the name of the city that was sacred to Jews for nearly two thousand years before Muhammad. Indeed, not once is Jerusalem mentioned in the Quran. And while Muhammad was said to have departed to the heavens from the Al Aksa Mosque, there was no mosque in Jerusalem. The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque were built upon the Jewish Temple Mount. Muslim theologians subsequently justified this usurpation by superimposing their own chronology‐and relatively recent fondness for Jerusalem‐upon the existing, ancient sanctity of the place to Jews. Essentially, this amounts to historical identity theft. |

Ilana Mercer: Make Jerusalem Safe Again |
2017-01-28 |
[Barely a Blog] RELOCATING the American Embassy to Jerusalem, as President Donald Trump has pledged to do, is more than symbolic. It’s what Christians should be praying for if they value celebrating future Easter Holy Weeks, in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, located in Jerusalem’s Old City. With such a forceful gesture, the Trump Administration will be affirming, for once and for all, the undivided Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish State. There’s a reason Muslims living in Israel proper--1.5 million of them--don’t migrate to the adjacent Palestinian Authority. They’re better off in Israel. Should Jerusalem, East and West, be recognized formally as the capital of Israel only, under Jewish control alone; Christianity’s holiest sites will be better off. Judaism’s holy sites will be safer. And so will Islam’s. Jerusalem is no settlement to be haggled over; it’s the capital of the Jewish State. King David conquered it 1000 years Before Christ. The city’s "Muslim Period" began only in the year 638 of the Common Era. "Yerushalaim," and not Al Quds, is the name of the city that was sacred to Jews for nearly two thousand years before Muhammad. Not once is Jerusalem mentioned in the Quran. And while Muhammad was said to have departed to the heavens from the Al Aksa Mosque, there was no mosque in Jerusalem. The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque were built upon the Jewish Temple Mount. Muslim theologians subsequently justified this usurpation by superimposing their own chronology--and relatively recent fondness for Jerusalem--upon the existing, ancient sanctity of the place to Jews. Essentially, this amounts to historical identity theft. It’s bad enough that Bethlehem--the burial site of the matriarch Rachel, birthplace to King David and Jesus and site of the Church of the Nativity--is controlled by the Palestinians. But, as one wag wondered, "How would Christians react if the Muslim theologians aforementioned had chosen to appropriate the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, rename it and declare it Muslim property?" |

Local Islamic leaders arrested for inciting violence in Jaffa |
2015-11-17 |
[Jpost] Police said that the suspects incited the atmosphere at recent protests in the city A leader of the council of the Islamic Movement in Jaffa and the imam of a Jaffa mosque are among four suspects tossed in the clink Please don't kill me! by police Monday on suspicion of inciting violence during protests held in the city in recent months in solidarity with the Paleostinians. One of the protests in early October descended into violence as rioters shut down the main thoroughfare in Jaffa and masked men threw rocks at police and torched dumpsters. In a statement on Monday, police said the suspects "incited the atmosphere at recent protests in Jaffa, leading to the throwing of rocks at motorists while endangering bystanders and damaging the public order." Police also arrested two minors, aged 16, who they say took part in the demonstrations. All four suspects will be brought for remand extensions in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. The October 6 violence in Jaffa, in which a handful of coppers were lightly hurt and six protesters arrested for allegedly clashing with police, was some of the worst rioting seen in the city in years. Also in October, violent rioting took place intermittently in cities in the Shfela region, including Ramle and Lod. Shfela subdistrict police said on Monday they had arrested two minors suspected of throwing rocks at motorists on Route 431 on a number of occasions last month. Israel outlaws northern branch of Islamic Movement [Jpost] Israel has resolved to outlaw a domestic Islamist movement with ties to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and the Egyptian Moslem Brüderbund, according to a blurb distributed early Tuesday morning by the Prime Minister's Office. The government says that it has declared the northern branch of the Islamic Movement "an illegal organization." "The practical significance of this decision is that any entity or individual belonging to the group from hereon out and any individual who grants this organization services or operates under its auspices will have violated a criminal statute and is subject to imprisonment," the government statement read. The northern branch of the Islamic Movement is led by Sheikh Raed Salah, who has been convicted in court of numerous subversive activities, including funding Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, contacting an Iranian agent, assaulting a police officer, and leading a violent protest. In recent months, Salah has been at the forefront of agitating against Israeli rule over Temple Mount. His rallies frequently invoke the mantra of "Al-Aksa is in danger." read. According to a police statement, authorities began distributing cease and desist notices to 17 non-government organizations and charities with ties to the northern branch. These notices were handed out to offices in areas with large Arab populations, including Umm el-Fahm, Jaffa, Nazareth, Kfar Kana, Tora'an, Beersheba, and Rahat. Investigators also conducted searches and confiscated equipment in 13 of the 17 offices. Security forces left with computers, documents, and other material. The authorities also froze bank accounts which are alleged to have facilitated the activities of the movement, resulting in harm done to national security. |

Report: Hezbollah enlisting West Bank youth to carry out terror attacks against Israel |
2015-08-31 |
[Jpost] Saudi daily quotes Paleostinian security source as saying PA concerned by Hezbollah attempts to make inroads with Paleostinian youth. Hezbollah has been working intensively to enlist former operatives from Fatah's armed wing, the Al Aksa Brigades, in order to carry out terror attacks against Israeli targets in the West Bank and inside Israel, a Paleostinian security source was quoted as saying on Sunday. Saudi daily Okaz quoted the source as saying that "among those Hezbollah members involved in the operation is Kayis Ubayid, who was behind the kidnapping of Col. (res.) Elahanan Tenebaum in 2000." Tenenbaum was released to Israel from Hezbollah captivity as part of a prisoner exchange in 2004. The source added that Paleostinian security forces believe that recent shootings and the use of bombs such as that thrown at an IDF position near Beit Jala, south of Jerusalem, earlier this month, are part of the Lebanese Shi'ite group's efforts. The Paleostinian source claimed that Israel is well-aware of the Hezbollah activities. He added that some of those Paleostinian operatives approached by Hezbollah reported the Shi'ite group's efforts to Paleostinian Authority officials. "We estimate that there are a number of youths who were drawn into joining Hezbollah's ranks and are now operating in the West Bank, because of economic hardship or the deterioration in the security situation," the source said. "We don't know how many people there are, but there is no doubt that the phenomenon is gaining momentum among former Al Aksa Brigade youths that have been approached by Hezbollah to work in exchange for economic support. The matter is a personal choice of these youth, who have chosen to take action against Israeli targets." The Paleostinian security source expressed concern ...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended... that, for the first time, their was a willingness among Paleostinian youth to join Hezbollah. "These attempts have not gone unnoticed by us in recent years, but in recent months we feel that the phenomenon has grown, with interest expressed by the youths," he said. "The number of youths involved can be counted on two hands, but nonetheless this is a dangerous development, which if it manages to carry out just one terror attack - it will change the situation completely. We fear that the issue will become a phenomenon, with more and more youths being seduced into getting money from Hezbollah. When they number in the dozens, handling them will become much more complicated." The source said that the matter was a security challenge for the Paleostinian Authority, which is also currently acting against Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,'s efforts to revive its military wing, the Kassam Brigades, in the West Bank. The source said that in the mid-2000s, Hezbollah had tried to enlist West Bank youth, offering salaries which reached tens-of-thousands of dollars per month. "In the years 2004-2005, the Al Aksa Brigades grabbed credit for terror attacks which were all funded by Hezbollah, whose main enlister was Kayis Ubayid. This would not mark the first time that Paleostinian security forces have warned of Hezbollah attempts to enlist fighters in the West Bank. The move could potentially be tied to Hezbollah's patron - Iran. In January, Iranian Defense Minister Hussein Dehghan warned that Israel "will not escape Dire Revenge" for its alleged liquidation of Iranian Revolutionary Guards' General Muhammad Allah-Dadi and of Jihad Mughniyeh in an air strike in the Syrian Golan Heights attributed in foreign reports to the IAF. Dehghan said at the time that Iran would continue to arm the West Bank and Hezbollah. "Tehran will continue to strengthen the axis of resistance in order to deal with the Zionist entity." |

Amid Tensions, Israeli Lawmakers Push for Jewish Access to Sacred Site
2014-11-03 | |
[NY Times] A hard-line Israeli politician from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party toured this city's most contested holy site with a police escort on Sunday, and a far-rightist minister reiterated a contentious call for Jews to be allowed to pray there, despite Mr. Netanyahu's plea for politicians to show responsibility and restraint after days of heightened tensions over the sacred compound. The visit by the politician, Moshe Feiglin, passed without violence, eliciting only chants of "God is Great!" and taunts from Moslem protesters as Israeli, Paleostinian and Jordanian leaders appeared intent on lowering the heated language and trying to calm the atmosphere. The site -- revered by Jews as the Temple Mount where the ancient Jewish temples once stood, and by Moslems as the Noble Sanctuary, the location of Al Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock and the third-holiest site in Islam -- was reopened to non-Moslem visitors on Sunday.

Driver Plows Into Group at Jerusalem Train Station, Killing Baby |
2014-10-23 |
[NY Times] A Paleostinian driver plowed his car into a group of people waiting at a light rail station in northern Jerusalem on Wednesday, the police said, killing an Israeli baby and injuring eight other people. The driver was shot and seriously injured by coppers as he tried to flee, according to the police, in an episode that added to the escalating tensions in the city. A front man for the police, Micky Rosenfeld, said the event was being treated as a suspected terrorist attack, with a strong possibility that the driver had deliberately run people over. Footage from a traffic camera aired on Israeli television showed the car swerving off the main road and driving fast in the direction of the rail station. The Maan Paleostinian news agency identified the driver as Abd al-Rahman Al-Shaloudy, 20. Mr. Rosenfeld said the driver had previously served time in an Israeli prison. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel ordered a reinforcement of security forces in Jerusalem and, in a statement, accused President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... of the Paleostinian Authority of inciting violence against Jews in Jerusalem. In a speech over the weekend, Mr. Abbas called on Paleostinians to defend the Al Aksa Mosque by all means after a series of violent confrontations between Moslem worshipers and the police in the mosque compound, Islam's third-holiest site. |

Hamas Leader: Egypt Mufti's J'lem Trip Act Of Normalization
2012-04-20 | |
The visit by Egypt's grand mufti to the Al Aksa mosque on Wednesday the Temple Mount was a dangerous act of normalization with Israel, a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, leader charged on Thursday. "We reaffirm that this visit meant a recognition of the Occupation, meant the normalization of relations with the enemy, gave [Israel] ethical testimony, and meant supporting Israeli policies that go against the right of our people in the West Bank and the Gazoo strip to pray [at Al Aksa]," wrote Moussa Abu Marzork, the deputy chairman of Hamas's political bureau. "It meant giving a boost to the strength of the Israeli economy," Marzouk said in comments published on his Facebook page. The Egyptian religious leader's visit to the mosque "sent a clear message over the Zionist claims to guarantee religious freedom," Marzouk charged. "The mufti's visit and prayers with those Jews who storm the gates of Jerusalem in order to pray in the courtyards of the Al-Aksa mosque is evidence of this purported religious freedom." Egyptian Grand Mufti Dr. Ali Goumma caused outrage with the visit, which he called "unofficial" and denies was an act of normalization with Israel, and stood before the Islamic Research Academy on Thursday in Cairo to give his testimony regarding his trip to Jerusalem.
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday denounced a rare visit to Jerusalem by the nation's top Islamic theologian that broke with decades of opposition to traveling to areas under Israeli control. Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa replied that his two-hour visit on Wednesday was a show of solidarity with the Palestinians' claim to Israeli-held east Jerusalem. (AP)

They include Nasser Batima, convicted of planning the 2002 Passover Seder suicide-bomb attack on the Park Hotel in Netanya, in which 30 civilians were killed and 140 were wounded. Israel Radio said that the unconfirmed list also named Husam Badran, head of Hamas terrorist cells in the northern West Bank, who took part in the planning of the 2001 bombing of the Dolphinarium nightclub in Tel Aviv, in which 21 youths were murdered, the Park Hotel bombing, and the 2002 bombing of the Matza Restaurant in Haifa, in which 14 civilians lost their lives. Other men listed were Hamas member Yehieh Sinwar, sentenced to five life sentences for his role in the kidnapping and murder of Sgt. Nachshon Wachsman. Palestinians prepare for Naksa marches on borders
2011-05-31 | ||||
Hundreds of thousands join Facebook campaign to mark "setback" of Six Day War; IDF to deploy larger forces along northern frontiers. Following the example of this months Nakba Day marches, Palestinians and their supporters are preparing to launch another multipronged assault on Israels borders this week to mark the Naksa, or setback, of Arab defeat and territorial losses in the 1967 Six Day War.
Thirteen people were killed on May 15, Nakba Day, while trying to breach Israels borders with Syria and Lebanon. Many of the protesters killed had been shot by the Lebanese Army as the group approached the border with Israel. Similar rallies were held on Israels borders with Jordan and Gaza, and in the West Bank. In the days most dramatic incident, three people were killed by IDF fire when around 100 Syrians broke through the Golan Heights border fence at Majdal Shams. Another 10 were killed by Lebanese troops on the Israel-Lebanon border. This time, military officials said the IDF will deploy larger forces along Israels northern borders to avoid a repeat of the Nakba Day disturbances. The officials said they expect the rallies to be relatively peaceful, and that they hope an effective troop deployment can prevent border infiltrations altogether. The goal is twofold, one defense official said. To prevent infiltrations, and at the same time, to try to ensure there are no casualties on either side. The May 15 border rallies were coordinated largely through social media sites, and organizers predict an even greater turnout this time around. We will renew the memory of the Naksa, and we will make it a setback to the occupying entity, organizers wrote on Facebook. Thus we declare with all our strength and with our loudest voice that the seventh of June, which marks the rape of Jerusalem is a day of allegiance to Jerusalem in all countries of the world.
The current Facebook page, under a slightly different name, was created in early April, and by mid-May had been followed, or liked, by 100,000 people. Over the last two weeks the pages following has grown to over 375,000. Organizers wrote that the Nakba Day events prove historic Palestine can be liberated by mass unarmed marches, provided the umma, or Islamic nation, is willing to pay any price, including a million martyrs. Our intifada continues, Israel is about to depart, and with Gods help we will all pray in the mosques and churches of Jerusalem, they wrote. Similar notices have been posted on other pro-Palestinian websites. On Sunday, June 5, the 44th commemoration of the Naksa, or setback Israels 1967 expulsion of 300,000 Palestinians following the Six Day War Palestinian refugees will return en masse to the borders, said an article on the International Solidarity Movement homepage. Meanwhile, the administrators of a popular Facebook page dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad have changed the profile picture to an announcement that the Continuing Palestinian Intifada will begin on June 7. The page, Rassoul Allah, is one of the most popular of thousands dedicated to the Muslim prophet, with 3.7 million likes. Ofir Gendelman, the Prime Ministers Office spokesman for Arabic media, said Israel is ready to use any means necessary to protect its borders. Activity on Facebook calling for people to march on the borders has grown in recent weeks, and there are pages telling people exactly where to go, he said. Of course were familiar with this activity both on Facebook and Twitter, and have been for some time. Were prepared for any eventuality, whether by use of the police, army, security forces, Foreign Ministry and of course the Prime Ministers Office, to provide a security response to attempts to enter into our territory. These people want 300 or 400 casualties in order to create a media and geopolitical tsunami to distract the worlds attention from whats happening in Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority, and to direct it at Israel, he said. We must remember that not all those who click like on Facebook are going to board a bus and ride to the border. Theres a difference between clicking like and taking the personal risk of trying to breach the border, he said.
According to Third Palestinian Intifadas plan of action, following prayers on Friday, Arabs in Israel, the West Bank and Jerusalem will march on the Al- Aksa Mosque to declare their allegiance to the holy city. Egyptians are instructed to gather in Tahrir Square to do the same, as are residents of the rest of the Arab, Islamic and Western capitals. Gazans and Jordanians are encouraged to march on their respective borders with Israel. Two days later, Arab residents of Israel, the West Bank and Jerusalem are again instructed to march on Al-Aksa Mosque, and to clash with Israeli soldiers in contact areas, while in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, protesters are to march peacefully to their respective border with Israel. In the capitals of Arab, Islamic and Western countries, rallies are planned outside Zionist embassies, including Israels diplomatic missions in Egypt. On June 7, millions of Arabs, Muslims, Christians and liberals of the world, led by university students in different places will swear allegiance to Jerusalem on the day Jerusalem fell and the mosques and churches fell to the hands of the Zionists. Organizers are calling again for marches on Al-Aksa Mosque, and for a construction convoy from Egypt to Gaza to bring building materials to the Strip. The process of empowerment and liberation, which started in Tunisia and Egypt, should end with the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine, organizers wrote. Palestine will be liberated from the river to the sea, and the sea to the river. Eyal Zisser, a senior research fellow at Tel Aviv Universitys Dayan Center, said the association between Nakba and Naksa is problematic from Israels perspective in that it identifies the defeat of 1967 with calls for the return of refugees from the War of Independence. If we convince ourselves that our problem with the Arab world is not that they are unwilling to accept our existence, but that its over the West Bank and Gaza, then why are the Palestinians linking the return of refugees with the 67 borders? he said.

France leads Europe with ban on Hamas TV
2010-06-11 | |
France became the first European government on Wednesday to order the French-owned satellite station Eutelsat to stop its broadcast of the Hamas Al-Aksa program because of violations against European anti-hate laws. Al-Aksa programs "incite hatred or violence for reasons of religion or nationality," said French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero.
Alexander Ritzmann, a senior terrorism analyst from the European Foundation for Democracy (EFD), which played a key role in convincing French authorities to shut down Al-Aksa's operation, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday that the ban on Al-Aksa "is the first important step. The next step is to cease Al-Aksa broadcasts from Arabsat (Arab Satellite Communications Organization). "There can be no doubt: These broadcasts radicalize its viewers and put European citizens -- particularly of a young age -- at risk," said Ritzmann. "Al-Aksa TV continues to be available in Europe via Arabsat, whose largest shareholder is the government of Saudi Arabia. European governments and citizens should also demand that Arabsat drop Al-Aksa TV from its offering." The Coalition Against Terrorist Media (CATM), a broad-based group monitoring terrorist-funded media, welcomed the French decision. Said Mark Dubowitz, executive director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, which founded the coalition in 2004: "Taking Al-Aksa TV off the air demonstrates that incitement to violence and support of terrorism will not be tolerated in Europe."
