Year 2022: Mixed bag for J&K with terror, infiltrations down, but psy-ops, targeted killings rising |
2022-12-18 |
[OneIndia] The security situation in Jammu and Kashmir![]() Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... has been a mixed one in 2022. The Armed Forces have had plenty of success when it comes to gunning down terrorists. While the forces had plenty of success on the ground, the year also witnessed the rise in psychological warfare in terms of terror groups circulating hi-lists. The Valley has also seen a spate of assassinations this year. 56 FOREIGN HOLY WARRIORS KILLED: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh told news hounds this week that in the year 2022, 56 holy warriors had been killed by the security forces. He also said that 86 of the 102 local youth who had joined the terrorist ranks too had been killed. Singh also said that with 86 new holy warriors from the Valley being killed, the number of such elements has come down to 23. "Those who choose the path of terrorism, their life is not too long. Youths should take the path of peace and prosperity and leave the path of terrorism. There is no benefit in going towards this path," Singh also said. PSY-OPS: The year 2022 saw the birth of a new blog called the Kashmir Fight run by the The Resistence Front which is a derivative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. Through this blog, the The Resistence Front put out hit-lists. These hit-lists had the names of pro-India journalists, police personnel and officials. Recently the The Resistence Front circulated two lists comprising the names of Kashmiri Pandit government officials. This has caused panic in the Valley, but the establishment has said that there is no cause for worry. The militancy is taking its last breath. Stern action is being taken against those involved in giving such threats. Such blogs and websites are under our watch. FIRs have been registered against them. Action is being taken against their supporters as well," Singh had said. Investigations had found that this operation was planned by one Mukhtar Baba based out of ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... . He had got the names from a contact in Srinagar and it was learnt that the blog was being run from Pakistain. It is a routine conspiracy of those who feel unhappy with peace and prosperity. We will finish all such remaining outfits involved in giving such threats," Dilbag Singh said. TARGETED KILLINGS: The assassinations of Kashmiri Pandits and non-Moslem migrant workers triggered panic in Jammu And Kashmir. Since January 2021 over 55 civilians have been killed by hybrid terrorists. In October last year, seven non-combatants were killed in five days. Among them were a Kashmiri Pandit, a Sikh and two migrant Hindus. In May, holy warriors had barged into the tehsildar's office in Budgam and rubbed out 36 year old Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit who received a government job under a package for the community. In October this year, a Kashmiri Pandit, Puran Krishan Bhat was killed in Shopian. In August Sunil Kumar was killed at an apple orchard and the attack was claimed by the Kashmir Freedom Fighters, an offshoot of the Al Badr. They said that Sunil Kumar and his brother Pintu Kumar who was injured in the firing had been encouraging people to take part in the Tiranga rallies in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations. INFILTRATIONS DOWN: The annual 2021-2022 report of the Union Home Ministry said that 73 terrorist infiltration attempts were reported both through the International Border and Line of Control in 2021, which is the lowest in five years. In the year 2017 the number of infiltration bids were 419 and in the following year it dropped to 328. The report of the MHA also said that the Centre in tandem with union territory of Jammu And Kashmir has adopted a multi-pronged approach to counter infiltration. The reduction in number of infiltrations and huge number of holy warriors being killed has led to a lot of frustration among these terror groups. This has resulted in the publishing of hit-lists and assassinations. Officials say that they are confident of ending this menace and the year 2023 will hopefully be a terror free year. |

With Bhatkal module crackdown, NIA arrests 2 top ISIS terrorists |
2021-08-09 |
A top ranking Islamic State![]() Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... operative, was arrested along with another from Bhatkal, Karnataka. The two to be arrested are Jufri Jawhar Damudi and Ameen Zuhaib. The arrests were carried out following a coordinated raid between the National Investigation Agency and Karnataka police. Damudi was under the radar of the Central agencies since April 2020 for his active role in production and dissemination of ISIS propaganda monthly online magazine "Voice of Hind". Besides ISIS propaganda/media activity, he was also looking after logistical support including procurement of arms and explosives, funding for mujahideens and recruitment. He was in direct contact with Islamic State leaders in Khorasan (Afghanistan) and Syria. He also instigated his cyber contacts to kill kufars (disbelievers), Police Personnel, Journalists etc and inflecting damage to temples and government properties. On cyberspace, Abu Hajir Al Badri claimed to be based in Afghanistan/Pakistain and was taking all security precautions to evade his detection by Intelligence agencies. Despite his claim to be based in Khorasan/Pakistain on social media, it was assessed that 'Abu Hajir Al Badri' might be based in India and not Khorasan. Based on this assessment and the leads developed through the revelations of Qasim Khurasani (arrested on July 11, 2021), further intelligence investigation by Indian central agencies in co-ordination with foreign agencies, the real identity of Abu Hajir Al Badri was established as Bhatkal-based Jufri Jawhar Damudi. Thereafter, through deft fieldwork, the agencies managed to identify Jufri Jawhar Damudi (30 years) and one of his associates Ameen Zuhaib in Bhatkal. It was also established that Jufri Jawhar Damudi is younger brother of Adnan Hassan Damudi, who was arrested by NIA in 2017 in ISIS related cases. Jufri Jawhar Damudi accepted his association with Afghanistan- Pakistain-based IS operatives and involvement in production and dissemination of IS propaganda magazine "Voice of Hind". During search by the teams of Central agencies, teams have recovered digital media devices and incriminating jihadi literature from the raided locations. In the last one month, raids at 21 locations spread across Anantnag, Srinagar, Bandipore, Baramulla, Mangalore, Bangalore and Bhatkal resulted in 10 arrests from 3 separate modules of ISIS in India. This Pan-India crackdown and back to back arrests of two prominent Islamic State (ISIS) operatives i.e Qasim Khurasani and Abu Hajir Al Badri is a major blow to Islamic State and these disruptions would degrade the ISIS network in India significantly. 2 years after Pulwama attack, J&K Police recovers 7 kg IED at Jammu |

[OneIndia] The Jammu and Kashmir![]() Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... police on Sunday thwarted a major tragedy with the timely detection of a seven-kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the crowded general bus stand area in Jammu city. The incident comes exactly two years after a terror attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in south Kashmir's Pulwama killed 40 security personnel. Addresing a presser, Jammu Inspector General of Police (IG) Mukesh Singh said "We were on high alert as we had inputs that terror groups were planning an attack on the anniversary of Pulwama attack. Last night we arrested a person named Sohail and recovered 6-6.5 to 7 kgs of IED from his possession." "Sohail revealed during probe that he studies in Chandigarh and he received message from Pakistain's Al Badr Tanzeem ...one of the many jihadi groups in Kashmir, it was separated from Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in 1998 by the ISI for what no doubt seemed good reasons at the time. Previously that decade it had fought alongside Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hizb-i-Islami in Afghanistan. It’s a member of the United Jihad Council, a confederation of Kashmiri jihadi groups, and is associated with Al Qaeda and Jamaat-e-Islami. Al Badr has been on US State Dept terror lists since 2005... unless Tanzeem means they’re an offshoot or another group altogether, in which case please ignore all of the above... to plant IED here," he said."Sohail was given three-four target locations to place the IED, after which he was supposed to take a flight to Srinagar where an Over Ground Worker of Al Badr Tanzeem named Athar Shakeel Khan would have received him," he added. Further elaborating on the attack, the cop said "a person named Qazi Waseem in Chandigarh was also aware of this matter, he has been held. We have also arrested a person named Abid Nabi." |

Home Ministry listing razakars |
2019-08-26 |
[Dhaka Tribune] The Home Ministry has started listing the name of the collaborators who received payment from the Pakistain government during the Liberation War in 1971. The enlistment of collaborators, or razakars, follows the letter issued by the Liberation War Affairs Ministry earlier this year, said Shajahan Khan, chairman of the ministry’s Parliamentary Standing Committee. The issue was revealed on Sunday during the Liberation War Affairs Ministry’s Parliamentary committee meeting. Briefing the media after the meeting, Shajahan said: "Letters have been sent to the deputy commissioners (DCs). "The DC has been told to prepare the rajakar’s list using their respective district’s archive and publish it in the gazette," he added. Asked when the list would be prepared, he said: "It depends on the DCs." Earlier in May, the House panel said a Demi-Official (DO) letter had been sent to the Home Ministry and deputy commissioners to archive the list of razakars, Al Badr, al-Shams and the anti-liberation forces. The committee also recommended including those members in the list who were given the parliamentary seats of the elected Awami League leaders in 1970. |
