[BB] Speaking at the Connect Arab America Empowerment Summit in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Chantilly, Virginia, El-Sayed opened his remarks speaking his name in Arabic fashion and went on to make the claim.
“I’m honored to be the next United States senator from the great state of Michigan, which of course I know we’re here in D.C. which of course is the capital of the United States of America,” he said. “But Michigan is the capital of Arab America.”
The term “Capital of Arab America” has historically been used to describe the Detroit suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, the city that has the largest Arab population in the United States, many of them descendants of families that came in the early 20th century seeking jobs in Henry Ford’s auto assembly plants. It also has the largest Lebanese-American population in the U.S.
Dearborn aside, statewide, California reportedly has more Arab Americans than Michigan.
Despite El-Sayed’s boast, the Arab American community in Michigan is still predominantly Christian, starting with the Lebanese Maronite Catholics who have been in the Detroit area for 100 years, as well as Chaldeans from Iraq and other Lebanese Christians who have historically been Republican voters.
...
The Arab American population in Michigan has grown by more than 87 percent since 2000, expanding from roughly 150,000 to as high as 400,000 currently, according to some reports.
The website Arab America explains:
Because Arab Americans are not officially recognized as a federal minority group, it is hard to determine the exact number of Arab Americans in Michigan. The estimates range from 409,000 to 490,000 based on information from the Michigan Health Department and the Zogby International polls respectively. In the Greater Detroit area, estimates range from 300,000 to 350,000. While the latest Zogby polls rank Michigan’s Arab-American population as second largest in the U.S., after California, Michigan’s Arab-American community in Southeast Michigan still has the greatest local concentration (California’s Arab-American population is much more spread out).
Dearborn and parts of Detroit are also represented by “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who in 2018 because the first Palestinian American woman to be elected to Congress.
[FOX] Two socialist mayors were elected in the United States on Tuesday in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. which means four of the top 20 largest cities in the country have socialist leaders.
Los Angeles Councilwoman Nithya Raman, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) defeated incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and will take office in December as mayor for the roughly 4 million residents of Los Angeles proper.
Also victorious on Tuesday was DSA member Janeese Lewis George, who coasted to victory to become mayor-elect of Washington, D.C., a city of roughly 700,000 residents.
The list of socialist mayors in the top 20 most populous U.S. cities stands at four, after George and Raman joined Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
In total, the four cities are home to roughly 14 million people. That figure does not include neighboring suburbs, which could still feel the effects of policies enacted within city limits through crime, real estate values and the broader business climate.
Problems in a city can spill over into surrounding communities, while suburban residents who work in the city may also be directly affected.
Counting the population in the metro areas of those four cities, roughly 44 million people could be affected either positively or negatively by the socialist policies enacted by the four mayors.
"This makes LA the fourth large city that will now have a socialist mayor, joining New York; Washington, D.C.; and Seattle," Heritage Foundation fellow Mike Gonzalez posted on X Thursday.
"Chicago's mayor is a buffoon, but he doesn't identify as DSA. America used to be an impregnable fortress against Marxism, then Marxists took over universities."
The socialist victories were not limited to city halls. Voters also elected seven DSA-backed or affiliated candidates to the House: Claire Valdez, Brand Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier of New York; Chris Rabb of Pennsylvania; Melat Kiros of Colorado; Donavan McKinney of Michigan; and Angela Gonzales-Torres of California.
Several other candidates associated with socialist policies also entered Congress or were re-elected Tuesday.
[Hot Air] The Democrats are split about what Elon Musk's fate should be for betraying them.
One side wants him dead. The other just wants him stripped of everything he owns and thrown in jail.
We'll have to ask Gov. Gavin Newsom for his opinion, since he just commuted the sentences of all those murderers in California. Perhaps he will chide his fellow Democrats who are all for firing squads.
Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the Rosenbergs, who were EXECUTED after WWII.
GALLOWAY: "We took the Rosenbergs and put them up against a wall and executed them for being traitors." Uh huh. Historical moron. Against a wall?
"And I realize this is an incendiary statement, but I’ll make it and I believe it. I think Elon Musk is a traitor to the West."
"If this had happened in any other age where we were not obsessed with innovators and money, a much different reaction would be playing out to Elon Musk."
These people are absolutely unhinged.
CONTEXT: Scott Galloway is not some random but a bestselling author with a top podcast who regularly appears on cable news. His net worth is over $100 million, and he’s openly suggesting Musk deserves death.
This is what the Democratic Party has become, and people voted for it.
Whoever heard of the Baby killing, sexually perverted, mentally ill, White Phobic, GOD denying, Speech censoring, founded in slavery, violators of the Bill of Rights, given legal immunity, and history practicing racism, Democrat... calling for the death of a Right Wing leaning member?
