[American Thinker] In the Democrat scheme of things, when one is losing an election, the thing to do is to keep on producing and counting ballots until one gets the result one wants.
We saw that in 2020, we saw that in the Los Angeles mayoral primary.
But now we see it in Brazil's election, where a socialist judge who had served as President Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva's personal lawyer decided to increase voting by two hours -- after all the conservative districts had shut down their operations and could not restart their voting machines.
🚨 COUP: In American terms, what Brazil's Supreme Court just did in tonight's election to Bolsonaro is let a place like deep-blue Broward County FL keep voting while red Lee County has to shut their polls down. Let Detroit vote while Macomb can't. Let Dane and Madison WI vote while the red WOW counties can't. Let Philly vote while Butler and Westmoreland can't. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED?! If this happened in America, there would be thousands in the streets. WAKE UP, BRAZIL!!

Net result? Lula defeated conservative presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro even after the latter had squarely won round one with margin to spare and smaller parties likely to consolidate to him.
Never happened like that before.
Bolsonaro put on a brave face and vowed to soldier on:
Brazil requires biometric ID and has electronic machines. Fingerprint confirms ID for overwhelming majority of voters. If the machine does not recognize the fingerprint (which happens) the voter will be asked their birth year. If this matches the birth year in their registration, they are allowed to vote.
Registration must be done through local offices called voting courts. For 2026, registration had to be done by May 2026. However, these offices have a website and registration may be done on these websites. I'm not sure how fraudulent registration can be prevented, especially via website registration.

[Beege @HotAir] Well, this is breaking news, and I wanted you all to know what's going on, as the votes in Brazil's presidential runoff may not be counted before I pass out tonight.
The Brazilian Supreme Court has granted President Lula's request to keep polling places open for an additional two hours this evening.
Brazil’s polls closed at 5 p.m. The count had started. The electoral court had already published its first results.
Then Lula’s campaign went to the corrupt Supreme Court.
Justice Cristiano Zanin spent a decade as Lula’s defense lawyer. Lula appointed him to the court in 2023. Minutes after polls closed, Zanin ordered every polling station in Brazil to keep taking votes for two more hours.
The stated reason was bus shortages, mainly in Salvador. Bahia’s electoral court had already handled it. It ordered the full fleet back on the road, ordered the arrest of the city’s transit secretary, and set a fine of R$1 million per hour. The city said service was restored.
A local problem. Already fixed locally. Zanin extended voting nationwide anyway.

Nick Shirley was out in the streets with a couple hundred thousand Bolsonaro supporters a few hours ago (man, is that kid everywhere?), and I think there is going to be a real problem if Lula 'wins' this way.
🚨 Brazil's right wing revolution has begun... Thousands upon thousands of people took to the streets in Rio de Janeiro in support of Flavio Bolsonaro as he attempts to take down Lula and declare war on the gangs of Brazil.
Under Lula a Supreme Court judge put former president Jair Bolsonaro in prison and then house arrest for the next 20+ years. His son Flavio is running to free his father and free Brazil from Lula’s communist-like government.
Brazil's right wing movement is being led by the Bolsonaros, 30 year old Nikolas Ferreira, and 28 year old Lucas Pavanato. Something incredible is taking place as millions reject the ideas of socialism and communism.
VAMOS BRAZIL! 🇧🇷

[NYP] Los Angeles’ top federal prosecutor has warned the upcoming midterm elections are under serious risk of being "corrupted" in California.
Bill Essayli said he was concerned noncitizen votes were already being counted across the state, with the processing of mail-in ballots having started on Saturday ahead of the November 3 elections.
He made the claim after an extraordinary court hearing Sunday where the Department of Justice faced off with California over 20,000 voters who the federal government claims are noncitizens.
Speaking after the court adjourned on Sunday, Essayli told The Post: "Our concern is that noncitizens are actively voting in this election and California has confirmed they will count their votes. This will corrupt the integrity of the upcoming midterm election."
That’s not bypassing, that’s using the Constitutional process when the opposition party more than 2/3rds majorities in both Houses of Congress. It’s just that Reuters is an English press agency and Regnum is Russian, so between them they’re a bit unsure about the subtleties of the American political system — it’s really not their fault.
[Regnum] Following the November elections and securing a majority of seats in Congress, the US Democratic Party may approve a new military aid package for Ukraine, overriding President Donald Trump's veto. Reuters reported this on October 25.
"That could allow them to approve new aid to Ukraine, which would likely pass with the two-thirds majority needed to override Trump's veto," the article says.
The agency recalled that the American leader had previously significantly suspended direct financial and military aid to Ukraine.
Elections to the US House of Representatives are scheduled for November 3. They will take place as part of the midterm congressional elections, which are traditionally held every two years at the midpoint of a presidential term.
With the arrival of the new US administration, supply volumes to Ukraine have decreased fivefold compared to the period under Joe Biden. The US has stopped disbursing new tranches from Pentagon stockpiles. The last aid package to Ukraine was allocated in January 2025, after which supplies have been provided only through long-term defense industry contracts.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that if Western arms supplies to Kiev are stopped, the conflict in Ukraine will end within two to three months.
