[ZERO] One day after federal agents raided Ilhan Omar's Washington home, we lear that her congressional staff got her birth year changed in Minnesota's official legislative records in May 2019, moving it from 1981 to 1982 - months after she was sworn into Congress. Alpha News was first to the punchbowl on this one last December. In light of the federal raid on Omar's DC home... well, check it out:
Omar has said she derived citizenship through her father, Nur Omar Mohamed, when he naturalized in 2000, and the law then required the child to be under 18 when the parent naturalized. Born in 1981, she'd have been an adult all of 2000 - the year she says she became a citizen at 17, the NY Post reports.
For her two years in the Minnesota House and more than four months into her congressional term, the state's Legislative Reference Library listed her birthday as Oct. 4, 1981, the same date carried by Wikipedia, the BBC and Congress's own Biographical Directory.
[IsraelTimes] Germany’s Greens and center-left Social Democrats (SPD) break off exploratory talks on forming Berlin’s next state government with the Left Party, a far-left faction, in order to assess whether antisemitism measures agreed to last week still stand.
The proposed measures would allow lawmakers accused of antisemitism to be expelled if a panel came to consensus on the matter; if they disagreed, experts would be called in.
The decision comes after the Left (Die Linke) admitted lawmaker Vanessa Emde, who has sparked controversy over her stance on Israel, as part of the state of Berlin’s new parliamentary group.
“We expect the Left to clarify the extent to which they intend to take the agreements we made seriously and implement them,” say the two parties in a joint statement after the Left held a constituent meeting.
The Left, a hard-left party represented in Berlin by lead candidate Elif Eralp, emerged from the September 20 state election as the largest force, with 25.7 percent of the votes.
The Left does not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment on the ended exploratory talks.
Tensions over antisemitism and the Gaza war have become a major fault line in German politics, with the SPD and Greens insisting on binding safeguards before entering exploratory coalition talks with the Left.
[IsraelTimes] Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate for New York State governor, attacks incumbent Kathy Hochul for antisemitism, anti-Israel protests and her relationship with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani during a campaign debate.
Blakeman, the Jewish executive of Nassau County on Long Island, is trailing Hochul in polls and has courted Jewish voters.
Tonight’s debate, hosted by the NY1 news outlet, is the only debate of the campaign.
The moderators ask Blakeman about comments he reportedly made to Hasidic leaders during a private meeting when he warned that rioters in the city could burn down yeshivas and synagogues and rape women under Mamdani and Hochul.
Blakeman is asked who were the rioters he was referring to.
“They are the professional protesters that took over Columbia University, that blocked our bridges and our roadways, and the lawlessness that took place while Kathy Hochul wouldn’t protect Jewish students,” he says.
“Zohran Mamdani is an antisemite,” he adds, faulting Mamdani for scrapping the city’s use of the IHRA definition of antisemitism on his first day in office.
Hochul is a moderate, while Mamdani is further left, but the two have formed a political alliance.
“If you want to campaign with him, that’s fine, but I will tell you right now — I think Zohran Mamdani is an antisemite,” Blakeman tells Hochul. “Antisemitism is on the rise and it’s occurred under your watch and Zohran Mamdani is fueling it.”
Hochul, who is supportive of the Jewish mainstream, says that Blakeman’s warning about riots reflects a lack of confidence in the NYPD.
“I stand with the men and women in blue every day of the week,” Hochul says.
Hochul and Blakeman both express support for the police and the NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who is Jewish.
Far-left protesters and political groups, including from the Democratic Socialists of America, Mamdani’s home base, have attacked the police in recent days and called on Mamdani to fire Tisch.
The turmoil came after federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shot a man in the city last week.
The exchange is the only Jewish issue to come up during the hourlong debate.
Hochul mostly seeks to highlight Blakeman’s support for US President Donald Trump, while Blakeman repeatedly blames Hochul for illegal immigration and crime.

Not sure that the charge of antisemitism plays in NY anymore. I plan to stay out of tge state going forward. It seems to have gone weird. Same with Canada.
