[MAIL] A Georgia high school football game erupted into a chaotic brawl that sent attendees running and ended with a gun on the ground and several arrests including three teenagers.
The boys, aged 16, 17 and 18, became involved in a fight during the Newnan High School and East Coweta High School football game Friday night, resulting in five people being taken into custody, according to WSB-TV 2 News.
Dramatic video shared to Facebook by 11Alive captured a group of boys launching into the violent confrontation, punching and shoving each other to the ground as the surrounding crowd scrambled away.

A truck packed with 40,000 pounds of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer vanished in California, and police claim the missing haul could be part of a brazen cargo theft operation that made off with roughly $70,000 in booze in a single morning.
Pabst Blue Ribbon said its truck and beer shipment were stolen, telling the person behind the disappearance it understood the temptation to brag about having that much PBR, but wishing they had gotten it "the honorable way."
The company put the thief on the clock, offering exactly 18 days and 44 minutes to return the truck with no questions asked.
Pabst also said it would offer a reward to anyone who helps crack the case, though it did not disclose how much it would pay.
The company did not explain the unusual countdown, though the 18-day, 44-minute window may be a nod to 1844, the year Pabst was founded.
The brand later issued a second post to quash doubts that the bizarre disappearance was a marketing stunt.
"To clear up the confusion, this story is real," Pabst wrote, urging anyone with information that could help solve the case to send a direct message.
As the deadline ticked down, the company warned that the "beer is getting warmer" while the trail gets colder.
It asked anyone who thinks they spotted the truck to snap a photo, tag Pabst or send a direct message with information about its whereabouts.
Montclair police are investigating two cargo thefts reported Aug. 17 at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center that investigators believe could be linked.
In the first incident, a shipment worth about $45,000 and bound for Tucson, Arizona, was picked up for delivery around 10 a.m. local time but never arrived, police said.
About an hour later, police said, a company claiming to be a subcontractor used fraudulent paperwork to arrange the pickup of roughly $25,000 in Anheuser-Busch and Pabst Blue Ribbon products.
Investigators said the trucking company information, driver and vehicles connected to the pickups contained discrepancies.
The cases may be part of the same fraudulent cargo theft operation, police said.
No one has been publicly identified in the case, and police have released few details about how the truck and its beer disappeared or where the load may have gone.
Investigators also have not announced any public leads, leaving open the question whether the shipment remains intact or has already been broken up and distributed.

[GaroweOnline] Somalia’s federal government has deployed additional troops to Baidoa by air to reinforce security around the newly installed South West State administration, as forces loyal to former South West President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohammed Laftagareen continue to pose a security challenge to the regional capital.
The troops were reportedly flown into Baidoa to protect South West State leader Sheikh Aadan Mohammed Nur Madobe, bigwigs and key government facilities, according to local and security sources. The federal government has not publicly disclosed the number of troops deployed or the specific units involved.
The deployment comes amid escalating tensions between the federal government and forces loyal to Laftagareen, who was removed from office earlier this year. Laftagareen-aligned fighters have launched repeated attacks and armed incursions around Baidoa, with the latest major festivities taking place on August 17.
During the August 17 fighting, fighters loyal to Laftagareen attacked positions held by federal forces in Baidoa. The Somali government said its forces repelled the assault, while Laftagareen’s camp claimed its fighters had briefly entered parts of the city. The festivities reportedly caused dozens of casualties and forced some residents to flee their homes.
The latest deployment has further militarised Baidoa, where the federal government is seeking to consolidate the authority of the new South West administration under Aadan Madobe. Laftagareen and his supporters, however, continue to reject the federal government-backed political transition and have vowed to challenge federal forces in the city.
The confrontation has deepened a broader political dispute between Mogadishu and South West State over leadership, constitutional changes and control of security forces. Analysts have warned that the dispute could fuel further political violence ahead of Somalia’s planned electoral process.
The deployment also comes as Baidoa remains a key security and political centre in southwestern Somalia, with the federal government and its allies seeking to prevent the city from falling under the influence of Laftagareen-aligned forces.

[AXIOS] Federal Reserve chairman Kevin Warsh said Friday that the central bank's leaders have "work to do" if they are not confident that inflation is moving to 2% "clearly and at sufficient speed," implying that interest rate hikes are ahead in the absence of improvement in price pressures.
The big picture: In a much-anticipated speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Warsh made clear that he is committed to the Fed's longstanding policy playbook of using interest rate adjustments to try to manage inflation — even as he sees this as a "hinge point in history" with the advent of AI.
It raises the strong possibility that the Fed's next move will be an interest rate increase, which could put him crosswise with President Trump, who has long sought rate cuts.
State of play: It amounts to clearing up any ambiguity left by his refusal, at a late July press conference, to engage much with questions about whether an interest rate increase might be needed to combat inflation that has surged higher this year and has been above the Fed's target for more than five years.
Bond markets sold off following his July 28 press conference as economists questioned the Warsh Fed's commitment to raising rates if necessary to achieve 2% inflation, as measured by its traditional gauge.

[News With Views] A coalition of Christian lawmakers, faith leaders and civic organizations urged President Donald Trump to establish a legal immigration and humanitarian pathway for Jewish Canadians who fear persecution resulting from rising antisemitism in Canada.
In a letter sent to Trump, the National Association of Christian Lawmakers and its partners asked the administration to direct the State Department and Department of Homeland Security to develop "lawful, secure, and appropriately expedited pathways" for eligible Jewish Canadian nationals and their immediate family members.
The letter pointed to what the signatories described as a growing climate of harassment, intimidation, vandalism, threats and violence targeting Jewish communities in Canada since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.
"These numbers represent more than statistics," the letter read. "They represent families who increasingly question whether they can safely send their children to Jewish schools, worship openly, display their faith publicly, or continue building their lives in communities where they no longer feel secure."
The group said any immigration program should have remain subject to existing law and national-security screening, including identity, criminal-history, medical and admissibility checks.

[Red State] Newly obtained documents are providing a much clearer picture of the long-running relationship between Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the CIA
We knew that Fauci was having "off-the-books" meetings with the CIA at the time the Wuhan laboratory controversy was blowing up.
But this takes his relationship with the clandestine intelligence agency to the next level.
According to documents posted at the Daily Caller News Foundation, Fauci’s NIAID was used to provide "cover" to CIA operations.
As stated in the interagency agreement, the CIA’s Biological Technology Center initiated a collaboration with NIAID focused on "forensic microbiology" involving potential bioterrorism agents.
The partnership called for CIA funding to leverage existing civilian research programs, with unclassified virus research conducted through NIAID used to "augment and complement" CIA research and development.
That is a big deal. Congressional investigators have already spent years probing Fauci’s relationship with the intelligence community, including reports that he visited CIA headquarters without his entry being formally recorded and participated in discussions surrounding the agency’s review of COVID-19’s origins. Seniors have no "badging in" requirement.
But this newly disclosed material goes further by showing what the institutional relationship actually looked like.
The documents indicate that the CIA wanted more advanced capabilities to identify and compare biological threats. NIAID research would help fill that gap. Funding the work at Wuhan filled that gap.
Fauci’s institute was not simply funding vaccine development or public-health research in isolation. It was participating in a biodefense ecosystem that directly supported U.S. intelligence operations.

[Red State] The Trump administration is widening its crackdown on the H-1B system, targeting two major benefits tied to the program: work permits for certain visa holders’ spouses and the grace period that allows laid-off foreign workers to remain in the country while seeking another job.
The Department of Homeland Security has revived a plan to eliminate employment authorization for certain spouses of H-1B workers who are in the United States on H-4 dependent visas.
At the same time, a separate DHS proposal to eliminate the current 60-day grace period for H-1B workers after they lose their jobs has cleared review at the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, putting that rule on track for public release.
Together with the administration’s newly proposed $103,265 fee for cap-subject H-1B petitions, the moves represent a broader effort to reshape a visa program that critics have long accused corporations of using to import cheaper labor while American workers compete for the same jobs.
Under a rule adopted during the Obama administration in 2015, certain spouses of H-1B workers became eligible to apply for employment authorization while their families waited through the employment-based green card process.
Not every H-4 spouse qualifies. The benefit generally applies when the H-1B worker is the beneficiary of an approved Form I-140 immigrant petition or has received certain extensions beyond the ordinary six-year H-1B limit.
For those who do qualify, however, the Employment Authorization Document allows the spouse to work independently in the United States. Trump’s DHS is now considering taking that authorization away.
The proposal appears on the department’s regulatory agenda under the title, "Removing H-4 Dependent Spouses From the Classes of Noncitizens Eligible for Employment Authorization."
That does not mean current H-4 work permits have been canceled. The proposal remains a long-term regulatory action, and DHS has not provided a target date for its release. Before any change could take effect, the administration would have to go through the formal rulemaking process.
As mentioned earlier, the White House has also cleared a DHS proposal eliminating the 60-day grace period that currently protects H-1B workers after an employer terminates them.
Since 2017, H-1B workers who lose their jobs have generally been given up to 60 days to find another sponsor, change immigration status or leave the United States.
Under the Trump proposal, that automatic cushion would disappear. The change would make the visa even more dependent on continued employment and potentially reduce the ability of foreign workers to move between companies after a layoff.
The two proposals arrive only days after DHS unveiled an even more dramatic H-1B change: a proposed $103,265 additional fee on every cap-subject petition.
The fee would apply to the regular 65,000 H-1B slots and the additional 20,000 visas reserved for workers with advanced degrees from American universities.
DHS says the figure is based on approximately $8.8 billion in federal costs associated with administering and supporting immigration programs, divided across the 85,000 annual cap-subject petitions. The administration’s argument is straightforward: Employers that want foreign workers should bear more of the cost of the system that supplies them.
DHS cited research finding that H-1B workers are paid substantially less than similarly situated American workers after accounting for factors such as education, occupation and geography.
That goes to the central controversy surrounding H-1B. The program was designed to provide access to specialized foreign talent, not simply to enlarge the labor supply and suppress professional wages.
Yet demand remains enormous. USCIS received nearly 344,000 registrations for fiscal year 2026 despite the statutory cap of 85,000.
The Trump administration is now attacking H-1B visa loopholes from several directions at once: making H-1B sponsorship more expensive, eliminating the two-month cushion after job loss and potentially removing work authorization for certain dependent spouses.
Neither of the changes involving H-4 spouses or the grace period is final yet, and both could face legal challenges before implementation.
But this is a real wake-up call for foreigners who have been exploiting America's overly lenient immigration system. The administration is making the H-1B program more expensive for employers, less flexible for visa workers and less economically advantageous for their families.
For companies accustomed to treating H-1B hiring as a routine part of their labor strategy, that era may be coming to an end.

[Just the News] The Homeland Security Department will require random audits of paper ballots in the midterm elections, citing long-simmering concern that the nation’s largest voting technology companies use Chinese parts in their voting machines, according to a letter from Secretary Markwayne Mullin released Thursday.
Mullin sent the letter to the White House Transparency Task Force earlier this week outlining the dangers posed by Chinese components in American voting machines and the way that these components could be exploited by hackers or other malicious actors.
At least now the responsible parties have been warned…
The letter highlighted longstanding concerns first raised in a bipartisan manner before the 2020 election, but which officials appear to have taken little action on in the intervening years.
"Voting machines with components manufactured by foreign adversaries introduce significant security risks," Mullin wrote. "These vulnerabilities mean that malicious actors could potentially compromise election infrastructure at any stage of the supply chain, even before the machines are assembled or deployed."
The secretary explained, "If a component is tampered with during manufacturing, it could serve as a point-of-entry for hackers, allowing for the possibility of synchronized attacks across multiple machines and jurisdictions."
Two Biden administration Intelligence Community memos in 2024 identified China as "the most active and persistent cyber threat" and assessed that China, along with Iran and Russia, has "the technical capability to access some U.S. election-related networks and systems."
Earlier this year, the Trump administration took drastic action to ban the import of all internet routers manufactured in foreign countries because of the unacceptable security risks posed by Chinese hacking capabilities.
Internet routers connect computers, cellphones, and other electronic devices to the internet, the backbone of the modern economy.
According to the agency, Chinese hackers have exploited vulnerabilities in Chinese-manufactured systems to extensively burrow into U.S. critical infrastructure networks, affecting industries like communications, energy, transportation and water supply, Just the News previously reported.
Mullin noted major U.S. voting machine companies have acknowledged that some of their components cannot be sourced from any American manufacturers, requiring them to rely on foreign suppliers. Three of those vendors which make up the vast majority of election systems in the U.S., "more than 80%," are ES&S, Hart InterCivic, and Dominion.
Each of these vendors has previously said that their machines have parts made in China.
Ahead of the 2020 election, the big three came under public and political scrutiny as worries mounted that foreign powers could interfere in U.S. elections.
Voting machines were widely seen as a vector for such interference, including through potential hacking or tampering. According to documents previously declassified by President Donald Trump and made public by the White House Transparency Task Force last month, the U.S. Intelligence Community also harbored concerns after vulnerabilities were exposed by a Venezuelan regime plot to manipulate its own election machines.
The Trump administration has declassified several tranches of documents outlining concerns about election vulnerabilities, seeking to bolster its efforts secure American elections ahead of the midterms. These include:
Evidence that China has obtained 220 million American voter registration files, some of which include non-public data, through buying, stealing or hacking. The administration’s intelligence chiefs later said that this represents "election interference."
Assessments from spy agencies beginning in 2020 that at least five foreign powers -- China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela -- possess the ability to hack voting machines.
Evidence gathered by the Homeland Security Department that hundreds-of-thousands of likely illegal foreign voters were on the voter rolls states—and estimated the total across the whole country to be higher.
Documents that show the FBI investigated a breach of voter registration data in Arizona’s largest county in the days before the 2020 election. In that incident, a self-described hacker foiled security and obtained 633,000 voter registration files, but the Biden Justice Department and local prosecutors declined to bring charges.
The scrutiny on American election machines used to be bipartisan.
Four Democratic lawmakers wrote a letter to the private equity firms that own the election machine vendors in December 2019 asking them to ultimately disclose ownership and finances, citing concerns that these firms have skimped on election security measures.
Earlier, in 2017, Democratic senators also sent letters to the three major voting machine manufacturers inquiring about their cybersecurity practices.
NBC News interviewed ES&S’s chief executive, Tom Burt, in December 2019 about concerns that the company sources election machine parts from China.
Burt told the outlet that the company’s facilities overseas in China and the Philippines were "very secure" and that ultimate assembly takes place in the United States. In a separate letter to the outlet, ES&S said all components "are trusted, tested and free of malware."
In 2020, the executives of all three companies testified before the House Administration Committee—the panel tasked with overseeing federal elections—and acknowledged that some of their voting machine components were made in China. The then-president and CEO of Dominion told lawmakers that his company sources parts from China because "in some cases, there are simply no alternative suppliers."
The Homeland Security Department first outlined its plan to tie its Homeland Security Grant Program funding to state performance in implementing several election security measures in July.
